Just got the most beautiful haircut this afternoon by Sky! I had dead shoulder length ombré and she chopped it into a gorgeous bob. In just a few hours I have received so many compliments on my new cut. :) Before she began to cut she really made sure I understood what she was going to do with my hair. A very sweet and talented woman. I definitely recommend her!!! Thank you Sky!

I am nowhere near trying to be disrespectful or offensive with my response, I was just an unhappy customer who’s parents work hard for there money but to the owner of the Drawing Room, That is false. The photo I showed at consultation was the same exact photo I attached in my mothers email, showing it again as a reminder of what I asked for because I had a question which I forgot to ask Michelle and it was about the outcome of damage, this was first time I emailed you guys after my consultation (consultation: Aug 28, photo of desired color screenshotted Aug 24^th). I did not get a reply from my mothers email and a day or two later I messaged you guys again (from my email), did not send any attachments, just about my question and setting up the day for me to get my hair colored, and my appointment was not scheduled. The person at the front desk the day I came said it was not booked, but wanted to see if I was lucky enough to still get it done that day. When I was getting ready with Michelle, I was told the change of platinum was raised PRIOR when I showed her the picture again, which was the same photo, though, I did show her more pictures too that were the same color, two different females with just longer hair (I showed more because the desired hair which was the original photo since the beginning was short and when I saw Michelle at consultation, I really wanted to focus on getting that platinum the photo had more on the females ends, white/​ashy/​platinum and/​but I found more photos later on of the desired exact color on two females who had it with longer hair and that was shown, as well as the original one on the 18^th). Even without the extra photos, again this hair color wasn’t even really close. I appreciate the offer but it’s something I refuse. If you did talk to Michelle about me, which this is Ironic, she would of told you my trust when it comes to coloring at a salon. When I was getting my roots bleached by her, it was a conversation we had when she asked what i would be wearing for the wedding. I told her my fear with salons because of one fail I had in the past from another salon which is why I rarely get coloring from salons, and she gave me input on it which made me confident and less nervous with the drawing room in the beginning. Stated before, I did come to you guys about 2 to 3 years ago during my senior year of high school which I was discharged from for about 2 months due to my pedestrian accident. I was very down and wanted something to make me feel better and heard a lot of good things about you guys and went to you. I would not say the first time was bad, it was alright, so I gave it another chance and this was worse. I wish things could of been different at this place, it would of been better to have given five stars, but this experience was the opposite of what I expected.

Hi there! My name is Myra and I went to the Drawing Room Salon exactly 9 days ago for a new haircut and color since my hair is turning gray due to a medical condition. I ended up working with Charles for color whom did a Balayage on my dark brown hair, and Paul whom cut my hair.
The gentlemen were extremely nice and attentive but as I arrived home an hour later I realized that I had to redo my hair with my straightening iron, because my hair was left frizzy in parts. Most unfortunately I discovered that my roots on the top of my head did not take the color from the Balayage which was my main reason for coloring my hair. Not only did some parts of my hair stay un-​colored, but there are some strands which are brassy and I know it’s due to the fact that the hairstylist had a difficult time lightening my hair. (But, if so why not continue trying to lift the color. as I have had the prior experience before in other salons so that I wouldn’t have brassy hair?” Typically I don’t like to complain and give people a hard time. But after spending four hours with them at the salon, and purchasing the follow-​up treatments that were recommended and paying a total of $ 400… I was expecting to arrive home and continue being happy as I was when I left the salon.
I gave them 2 stars because again they were nice. But it seemed that on a Saturday late morning things started getting busy, the fact that my hair was taking longer than they desired and expected. Led to my hair color not being corrected and my blow dry being rushed.
I’m not sure if I will return, and if so it won’t be on a Saturday and I will request for specialized colorist and stylist whom will know from the beginning that my hair will give them this dilemma since it’s dark… I truly feel bad for the Charles, because I loved his personality, but I need to be honest and rank the salon and the service based on what I was given. 9 days later I am already searching online for a new salon which isn’t ideal after spending $ 400

I have been going to Mirko for my blonde color for a while now and he is by far the best I’ve ever had color my hair. He knows so much about what shade will look best and then executes it perfectly. Having been coloring my hair for over 13 years, I know when I’ve found someone to stick with, and I will never trust anyone else with my hair. Thank you Mirko for the amazing color!

I’ve been using Mirko for my color for a little over two years now. We started when I had platinum blonde double process, he took me brunette, and then back to blonde highlights. He’s an absolute magician with color, and I’ve nor been anything less than thrilled with the results. I get compliments all the time on my color and I always tell everyone that Mirko is the best person in New York for color!

My fave stylist Candy no longer works here. I no longer feel the need to return.
There is a lovely colorist there named Mirco, sweet as they come, and good, but other than him, I am disapointed by them and am looking for a new salon.

I was referred to the Drawing Room by a friend. I had been dissatisfied by my most recent salon because I was not being heard when I asked for a change to the way my hair was cut and styled. I’d even show photos from my Pinterest feed to give a visual example of what I was looking for, and repeatedly ended up with the same cut/​style that I had asked to change.
Things were very different at the Drawing Room. Both Michelle, the colorist, and Liz, the stylist, were fantastic. They listened to what I had to say, and followed up to make sure that we were on the same page in terms of specifics (layers, bang length, etc.). They both are very skilled at their work, and I left with the best hair I’ve had in a long time.
Can’t wait for the next appointment!

I’ve been coming to The Drawing Room for years after I moved to NYC from LA. I had the same color guy in LA for almost twenty years and thought it was impossible to find someone who understood the particular color I like. Alas, The Drawing Room and Mirko saved the day. On top of being a color God, Mirko is one of the nicest individuals in New York. It’s always a treat to melt away in his hands as he performs magic with my highlights. The scalp massage during the wash process is amazing and helps offset the craziness of the city. Can’t speak highly enough of Mirko and the The Drawing Room.

If you are looking for a great salon, unique atmosphere, friendly and talented stylists, look no further! I had driven by this salon for months before giving it a shot and am I ever glad I did — wish I’d gone sooner! Not only was I treated as a valued client, but I leave looking like a rock star! I’ve had some real hair disasters in the past and am more than a little paranoid about my hair now. My stylist (sorry i forgot the stylist’s name) listened to exactly what I want and didn’t fail to deliver! He is a true artist, both personally and professionally. The staff are warm, fun and more than accommodating — I arrived 20 minutes before my appointment and I didn’t have to wait more than five minutes. I will recommend The Drawing Room to family and friends and everyone I know. I can’t think of enough great things to say about the salon and the staff — it truly is the Salon with a Heart! Unlike Unhappy Girl, I wake up every morning LOVING my hair style more and more!

I’m a low maintenance, 2 haircut a year kind of girl. Paul always gives me the perfect trim and shapes up my do, then styles me up so I’m good to go. The salon is also very bright and cute. I highly recommend!

Mirko was a disaster. I am usually happy with this saloon.

Best Colorist Ever!
I’ve been coloring my hair for as long as I can remember. I’m always looking to push the boundaries when it comes to my color and finally I met a colorist with just as much enthusiasm as well as expertise who is willing to bring creativity and innovation each and every time. Mirko from The Drawing Room, located in Soho, hands down, is as good as they come. His eye for color is like no other. My hair color is naturally very, very dark and I’ve wanted to go platinum for years now but I hadn’t been able to find a colorist that had the confidence, experience and willingness to do so until I met Mirko. Not only was he super excited about it, he understood exactly the tone I was looking for as well as what would work best for my personal style.
Clearly I can’t say enough about his expertise as a colorist but this wouldn’t be a complete review if I didn’t mention what an awesome guy he is. He’s super sweet, beyond attentive and knows how to make a woman feel her best. So if your looking to make a complete new transformation, color correction or something subtle and natural make an appointment with Mirko and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I cannot say enough about The Drawing Room. It is the BEST salon for color and cut in the city and I have been to my fair share of places.
Mirko is THE MAN when it comes to color. He has been doing my highlights for about 2 years — I have a dirty blonde coloration. I just decided to go platinum and the transition is insane. Mirko really is incredibly professional and a total genius. He kept me very aware every step of the process and I felt totally comfortable. Not to mention, the end result is gorgeous.
In terms of cut Candi and Alex are great!
The staff is really amazing — so nice, so informative, and so fun. Can’t say enough positive about the salon.

I’ve now had two appointments with Natalie for highlights — she’s wonderful! Incredibly talented, a wiz with blondes, and couldn’t be nicer! I would highly recommend her. Overall the salon is very nice and most of the staff are pleasant and friendly (read — most of the staff… not all ;)
Happy to have found a new color gal — will definitely be a regular of Natalie’s.

Liz is great here. She took my suburban-​y butchered haircut and made it into exactly the funky style that I wanted it to be. Liz takes her time and is diligent, super careful and notices details. She knows I have thick hair and she checks in with me before each big change. And when I get her opinion, she always has great ideas that work perfectly. She’s also super easy to talk to and kind :) She knows how to take risks and make my hair look great and she styles it exactly to my maintenance level, knowing that I don’t really blow dry or curl it. She’s awesome :)

I’m not sure why all the negative reviews, this place is wonderful! I walked in to a very cool, low key salon that was clean and bright. I was greeted by both the receptionist and another nice young man immediately. He held the curtain open for me so I could hang up my jacket and put on a robe. I was brought in immediately, asked if I’d like anything to drink and if I wanted a magazine — latest edition of Bazaar.
Natalie, a super sweet and fun Brit from London came over and we talked about my color. She completely understood what I wanted — eliminate grays and keep some of the depth from my previous highlights. Recommendation? Single process color on the top and a glaze for the rest. She asked if I liked a red-​brown or gold-​brown (gold, please) and then proceeded to do an amazing job. We also chatted about life in NY, big dreams and all the trials and tribulations of being an expat.
When the color was ready, Sky brought me to the shampoo area and gave me a head massage that rivals some of the best masseurs in the city (I’m a massage enthusiast). We also chatted, she was soooo nice, gave me a great blow out — exactly what I asked for.
I had bought a Gilt City voucher so asked what the original price of single process and blow out was (so I could tip accordingly) only to discover that it was a very reasonable $ 85! A blow out is normally $ 45, but with color, blowout is only $ 25!
I will definitely be back at full price. Everyone said good bye on my way out, I felt like a celeb. It was such a great experience. Can’t wait to go back and see them all again.

My experience at The Drawing Room was wonderful. I booked a cut and blowout via Gilt City and was impressed with the facilities, but most of all the friendly attitude and great cut by Kay. The shampoo I received was also the best ever– nothing like a nice head & forehead massage on a Friday after work!
I went to The Drawing Room looking for a new cut for spring and received a friendly welcome, some guidance from my stylist, and a cut that did exactly what he said it would do. I look forward to returning to the salon.

Not actually a spam reviewer and not sure what gain I would even be aiming for. have added a photo with confirmation email he got from TDR for the appointment to confirm it was a real customer. Pathetic attempt to wipe out bad review.

The place is nice and all. I really don’t remember who did my hair (it was a male), but I had a GILT voucher and went here about 2 years ago. I received the most horrific ombré color that I have ever seen. It was orange and just so uneven it looked horrible. My hair still suffered years later from the bleach (where they did the ombré is significantly shorter than the rest of my hair underneath). Also, I didn’t even know a blow out was not included so I left with my hair looking like a frizzy mess. on my birthday.
Never again.

Heard about this place via Gilt city and decided that I really needed a haircut to rid myself of the split ends I created from dying my hair so much in the last couple months.
I called that morning and was able to get an appt for three that same day. I took my time walking around soho before going into the salon ten min before the appt. I wasnt greeted when I came in… but I guess everyone was just busy doing their own thing. Minus a star for that and that I had to get the receptionist’s attention.
You go and get changed into this loose flowing robe and led to a somewhat awkward shaped chair where I met with Morgan and I told him what I wanted, then countered with what would be more realistic I guess with the texture and damage of my hair.
Back for the shampoo, I have to say, I thought down in chinatown they did a long massage but this place topped it. Very relaxing and quite extensive.
The hair cut was pretty fast, concerning the amount of hair I have and the prices this salon charges… I feel like my service was rushed. in any event I left with hair about 1.5 inches shorter… not too differnet looking than when I came in. I kinda wanted loose curle blown out but instead it was straight and I ended up curling it back at home.
Not sure if id be a returning customer considering the par service from this seemingly upscale salon.
