Lots of hits and misses here. Do not order salads — they are completely flavorless and a waste of money. The soups, tartines, and wine are good — although the prices are not conducive for the amount of food and quality that you get. Not my favorite place, but I will return from time to time to remind myself why I don’t like going there in the first place.

I come here for brunch on weekends and it’s become a fast favorite. Call it a grown-up’s brunch place — pretty good coffee and wine selections and the tartines and salads are pretty damn good. They used to have blue bottle coffee, which is absolutely excellent, but they serve Toby’s Estate Coffee now, which is good too. I guess blue bottle wanted to open its own place in the neighborhood. Don’t come here if you’re rushing — it’s meant to be a more relaxed place with a French bistro feel.

I keep giving Tartinery chances and I keep being continually disappointed. Today my $ 17 flavorless Quinoa Bowl contained about two cups of quinoa, one leaf of kale, one stem of broccoli rabe, two slices of avocado and a «poached egg» that I watched them microwave. Not to mention it took about ten minutes for them to prepare. With all the other fresh, delicious and quick food options available at Hudson Eats, I’m still kicking myself for wasting so many visits to Brookfield Place on an overpriced, less-than-mediocre fake French meal at Tartinery. Two words: Never again.

First of all, SUPER slow service– we waited for 10 minutes to order and it took another 15 minutes to get our smoothies… or what should have been smoothies but instead were bland slushies. After the person had run the fruits through the machine, the glass was half-full(because the person miscalculated how much fruit should go in there) SO she just added some ICE and milk to the glass, ran it again through the blender and VOILA — a $ 9 slushie. What a scam. Note that this was also at 9:30am on Dec 30th when the building was practically empty and there were third of the usual crowd, so just imagine the wait when you go in on a regular day.

Super convenient since it is in Brookfield place and is attached to my building. I have come here a bunch of times not only for company sponsored happy hours but also for my own. Last night was one of those nights. I sat and listened to an old friend who is going through a rough time. They have happy hour specials. 2 for 1 wine I believe until 7pm. Also the food is tasty. We had this cheese and assortments tray for $ 27 which was very good to share between two ravenous females. Do not sit in front of the juicing machine, its loud and annoying. You would think they wouldn’t have that stationed next to patron’s seats but oh well I guess I’ll shower again. Waiter service is usually fast and friendly.

Go to Tartinery if you want to wait 20 minutes to be acknowledged and then told they are out of bread, the main ingredient to their entire menu.

It appears that everyone’s reviews are consistent and pretty accurate. Tartinery used to be my go to coffee spot. They got rid of their traditional drip coffee, and now I can’t justify $ 7 for my less memorable morning brew. As an alternative, I could try the $ 14 avocado on toast, but haven’t ventured there yet. Alternatively, I appreciate their 2 for 1 happy hour throughout the week until 7. Especially given that a glass of wine is $ 12 – 14, the deal is appreciated. I think this location would see more business if they just lowered prices a bit, especially since it’s a coffee shop in a food court.

Service is a little slow, which is surprising considering the fast pace of the city. However, I had a DEElicious sandwich, ham, gruyère and bechamel on a mini baguette. It is more filling than it looks and was perfect. The bread alone was so fresh and toasty. Their gazpacho is also very good and refreshing — tomato, cucumber, tomatillo, lime, cilantro, big serving. I am still craving that sandwich. It took my tastebuds back to my trip to Paris. Prices are fair for the area, a higher end food court. A sandwich or salad with a drink with tax will cost you about $ 20.

Ordered: Ricotta tartine Pros– The ingredients were very fresh. Cons– The sandwich was too bland. It needed more salt or an additional ingredient to supplement its lack of salt.

This is one of our favorite places at Brookfield. The happy hour is amazing. Come for the tarts and the wine, stay for the amazing service! Margot, Jay, Bryson and Eugene are a great team. They always ensure that the food and service are impeccable!

Great location — plenty of people would like a place in front of this place just for the sake of getting to watch the JC sunset. They have a wide range of wines too which is always a good thing

Tartinery mainly focuses on open faced sandwiches(tartines) and fancy salads. While most of the menu options are over $ 15, they do have a $ 12 lunch special which includes a full tartine and a soup which was more than enough food. Surprisingly, they also have a selection of fresh squeezed juices. The chicken salad sandwich had some chewy parts — they need to trim their poultry better, but the soup was decent. Tartinery is the only place in Hudson Eats with its own seating which is a perk during the lunch hour rush.

Trois strikes & you’re out! Let me preface this review by saying i LOVE french food. I never truly respected the beauty of a jambon et fromage sandwich until i had a gorgeous taste along the riviera in 1999. I took my nieces to france this summer just to taste the high watermark for bread for themselves. So it was without hesitation that i lined up @ Tartinery for even a taste of the country that taught me to LOVE food. So one can imagine my heartache when i bit into a chewy, dry, flavorless jambon et fromage sandwich. It was flat, no buttery taste, no balanced, savory satisfaction of its namesake. Nothing. I know the bar is high, but this does not even come close. The bread tasted days old. It was truly a waste of flour & water. Second chances are what sent me there again for breakfast. I order the eponymous tartine(it’s 9:30 am – prime breakfast rush hour)… I wait… I wait… 20 minutes later they give me a full order tartine(i check the reciept. Yup, they definitely charged me the FULL tartine price, not the breakfast price, which I clearly pointed to while ordering). It’s huge, oily, and – you guessed it – just as flat & flavorless as its cold, closed faced cousin. Ok, fine, no more food. They have a happy hour. Today, I go for the 2 for 1 happy hour with a few friends. Guess what? My friend’s house red wine & my house white wine are the same price. He passes on his second, and i take it as my 3rd glass(i’ve had a long day), but ask for a white. Without any notice or clarification they charge me for 3 separate drinks. I mention the 2 for 1& the lady says it does not apply to us since we ordered different drinks, but i argue this point was not made when ordering my last glass, otherwise I would’ve ordered the house red. My friend & i are ready to leave to catch our trains – we cannot have our respective second(&4th) glasses. I ask for an appeal on the discount & she refuses saying«it is not possible» which I KNOW from experience in the service industry is thoroughly untrue. I tell her I will never return(& I am dead serious) & she just turns away, indicating she does not give one single f*ck about my business. Thanks a lot, frenchie! So let it be known, Tartinery is officially DEAD to me. I work in the building. I eat @ hudson eats every single day for breakfast, lunch & i have friends who meet me after work & i will NEVER return, now not only because of the terrible food but b/c of the full-on bullsh*t service. Au revoir, snitches. We shall never meet again. Jamais!!!

The environment is casual yet classy with hip vibes. I’ve only had the tartines and they’ve been really good. Chicken and salmon are both delicious. It’s a great lunch or casual dinner spot.

Came here during the snowstorm, because it was one of the few places still open. Just wanted some soup and went with the Veloute De Chataignes Et Champignons(which is a thick soup with mushrooms, chestnut, and cream). I liked my soup, however, I almost sent it back because they had microwaved the soup before serving. I understand that it was late and there weren’t many customers, but it did turn me off of the soup a bit even though it did taste good. E Also they have a drink happy hour from 5−7pm(2 for 1) which makes worth stopping to if you are at Hudson Eats in Brookfield Place.

I keep trying this place. Their menu is very appealing but the service is pathetic. Whether it’s lunch time or mid afternoon the take out order take so long you’d think there was one person working there. Today a cup of soup to go– over 10 minutes and barely lukewarm. Tasty but not worth the wait or the money. Really it’s less than one star but that option isn’t provided

I was disappointed. For almost $ 15 I received what was an open-faced sandwich that was 90% shaved fennel and maybe 10% «farmhouse chicken.» I would describe it as a dressed up chicken salad sandwich that someone has given a fancy name. The staff was excellent, though. They were polite, friendly, helpful… they tried. Maybe there are better items on the menu? Maybe the salads offer a better value because they certainly looked better. I really don’t know but I seriously doubt I am going to spring for another $ 15 takeout lunch to find out.
