There are some really rough reviews on here — but I’ve got to say — every dish I had at Beaubourg was on point. Came on a Tuesday night for reservations with friends and had a lovely time. The restaurant was packed by 7:30pm, which is always a good sign. We sat in the back room(a tad more upscale than the front area) and were doted on frequently by the waitstaff. I ordered the grey sole in grenobloise sauce and clearly chose correctly. Lemony, buttery, caper-y, and light; it was everything sole should be. The steak frites was also wonderful, as were the sides of lentils and spinach. I would have liked for the bread basket at the beginning to be warmed up, given the home-y fanciness of the restaurant, but the butter was creamy and salty so that made up for it. For dessert we ordered the chocolate profiteroles. I’m not big into ice cream at restaurants(crazy, I know) so this wasn’t mind blowing for me, but it was still a great end to a delicious meal. I’ll be back!

Maybe 3.5 stars really. Lovely place, nice ambience and attentive service for a late lunch on a chilly Sunday. I told our server I was quite thirsty and he kept the water carafe coming during our long time at table. He also turned the too-high heat down without being asked, for which we were grateful. The guys loved the raw oysters, the mini baguettes with butter were quite crunchy(not stale but robustly crusted) and good. My Salade Beaubourg had nice slices of smoked duck breast, one little toast with a large cube of rather bland goat cheese over mesclun. The salad was tasty but it has been tossed just a bit too long before – wasn’t as springy as it should have been. Burger with«French fires»(sic) didn’t elicit comment but my husband enjoyed his beet salad very much. All in all, decent food at a rather high price, but the overall experience(and the fact that we could hear each other speak) made it very pleasant.

Delicious food and awesome service. Firstly, their French wine list is impressive! We settled on a Vacqueyras from Southern Rhone that was outstanding for the low [restaurant] price point of $ 45! My mom and I ordered the Monday night special of coq au vin, which was delicious. Mine came with pasta, and my mom requested hers with spinach instead. We started with a green salad that had a perfect mix of greens, cucumbers, radish, finely cut tomatoes and a lovely Dijon dressing. The bread and butter on the table were so good they could have been a meal by themselves! My husband had the lobster frisette, which was basically a fancy lobster mac and cheese and truly heaven on a plate. For dessert we had the crème brulee, which was a nice big size for sharing and tasty. The portions were generous here and everything was excellent. We’ll definitely be back again soon. I am shocked to see these negative Unilocal reviews. Maybe they just had to work out some new restaurant kinks first?

Service was good, Food was lacking. I came here on a Thursday night and decided to sit in the section towards the back that reminds me of a very cozy living room with lots and lots of dining tables and booth seating. The atmosphere inside this place made me feel like I was in someone’s home and the food on the menu looked amazing. Unfortunately, the food really left a lot to be desired. I didn’t really like the mini baguettes that were served with the homemade butter — they were hard and dense, not what I expected for French Bread from a French place. We tried the East Coast Oysters — Close Enounter, I believe they were called. After one bite of the very fishy tasting oyster, I’d have to say that going forward I will probably stay far, far away. I don’t know if they just choose bad oysters or if those particular oysters are especially fishy tasting. Whatever it was, they didn’t taste fresh, which is the most important thing when serving any kind of seafood. I had a tuna nicoise which came with 3 pieces of thawed tuna on top of a mountain of salad. I think for a Tuna Nicoise and not a Nicoise with a side of Tuna, it should have been the other way around. Maybe sear the tuna and then place it on top of a little bit of complimentary salad? Something. This lacked creativity and taste. The worst combination. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.

Ratings for *Le Bar* ONLY: It was a magical night during the summer of ’15. The sun was setting in Battery Park, and there were three girls just looking for a place to relax, drink, and enjoy some fine food. We wandered into Le District for the first time, and fell in loveeee with all the French possibilities, and wandered into this place. We sat at the beautiful bar area(Le Bar), lit up at night in just the right way, and fancied some drinks as the sun was setting. Not sure why this place has a lower-than-expected rating, but it’s one of those places that I always pass by from time to time, remembering that blissful night. We ordered the following: Drinks — Versailles Royal(for fans of St. Germain) — The Botanist — Charlotte De Savoie(egg white containing cocktail, very good) Bites — Moules Frites(always a good order for a pricey place, due to quantity, value, and near-impossibility of failure. The moules frites was excellent here, which served true as we tried to scoop up as much white wine broth as possible.) –Le Grand(Fruits de Mer platter– seafood so, so fresh and tasty) Definitely come here for a drink and a great time whenever you’re in the area!

Location: I went with my friend, the location is good and have a nice view of the hudson river. Food: We ordered escagorts for appetizer it was not well seasoned. For the main course we had mussel with french fries and the lobster pasta. The sauce/soup of the mussel is quite good but the pasta wasn’t really eatable… The bread that came with it’s not a authentic french baguette… Very disappointed for that. Service: waitee/waitress are nice. To finish, a bit over priced for the quality of food.

I feel very conflicted about this review. I wanted so bad to fall in love with the French cuisine here but overall I found it to be too pricey for what I am experiencing. I will say that my boyfriend and I made the mistake of eating from the menu while sitting at Le Bar. We didn’t get the full experience one would get sitting in the restaurant(ie we didn’t get any bread! *slowly dies inside*). I love bread and wanted to see what they were providing but we never got it. Le sigh. Now on to service. The service was fine. Our waitress was attentive and accommodating however our bill surprisingly quoted us the wrong price for the salad we got(it was $ 4 over the stated price on the menu). She fixed it quickly when we pointed it out. I really appreciated her fixing it without question but it was odd that the computer stated it wrong in the first place. It stated the right entrée, just the wrong price. For food, we got sides and appetizers. We were trying to eat«lighter» food. Soupe a L’Oignon(French onion soup) $ 12. It was good, quite salty with a crapload of gruyère cheese but a bit expensive for French onion soup. I am not an expert on French onion soup but it tasted like other French onion soups I’ve had before. Plenty of onion and a slice of bread under the gruyère cheese. Salade Beaubourg —($ 16) For 16 dollars, the salad better have come in a relatively big portion and I am glad to say it did. There was 4 pieces of cured duck ham and the salad dressing was quite peppery which my boyfriend thoroughly enjoyed. There was also a piece of bread with a slab of goat cheese on it. There was also plenty of walnuts in the salad. Overall a good salad. Steak Tartare– For $ 18, I thought this was worth getting in terms of portion of tartare. There definitely was a lot of tartare and it came with a good amount of salad on the side. There were some things lacking however. There were only two pieces of toast which was not enough for the amount of tartare given. Also, the entire dish was super acidic. The tartare had an overwhelming taste of mustard and it was coupled with a mustard dressing from the salad. I almost didn’t finish it because I felt like my insides were going to burn… almost. I still had to eat it all if I was paying $ 18 bucks! Artichoke Rice Pilaf — I didn’t really notice any artichoke flavor but the rice was nicely cooked and covered with butter. This was a life saver for me to counterbalance the acidic steak tartare. Overall, it was fine but for the price, I wouldn’t try it again. The wine was $ 12 – 15 a glass and for what we ordered, it was too much for a semi-casual dinner meal.

Situated in the Hub of the World Financial Center Beaubourg can provide a fine lunch experience — provided it’s a business lunch. Be warned — the place is expensive. Seated at an unbalanced table for two — inexcusable at a «fine dining» establishment — we decided on the specials of the day. The Filet Mignon w/fries($ 45 — yikes) was correctly prepared medium and enjoyed. The«Fish(Trout) a la Planca» — over assorted vegetables was also enjoyed — no issues. Noticed quite a few reviews have complained about the rudeness of service. We had no issues as the Maitre D and waiters inquired on our comfort without being intrusive. On fine days outside seating with water and upscale yacht views would be the preference as inside dining area is a bit loud and congested. An upscale cafeteria…

The food was banal: The steak tartare was mushy, I couldn’t finish it. The french fries were decent. The waiter forgot and remembered later my repetitious second glass of wine. The best is the view, outstanding, you feel in Miami. Charming music. The area looks like Minato, Tokyo. A new look in New York Financial District is emerging, very Japanese, high tech.

Came in early in a week day, arround 12. Ordered the Lunch Prix which included a Salad, a Entrée and Dessert. The salad was amazing, I had Beef with vegetables and roasted potatoes which all were cooked to my likings, and dessert included four different miniature desserts and came with a cup of coffee. Service was incredible, at least 6 different people available to help me out. Probably because I was not half full since it was early. Last, the view is incredible if you sit outside. Cons: Expensive food, came out to $ 40 and I had water.

We intended to just have a couple glasses of wine outdoors to relax for the evening, but when we saw great prices on full bottles, we decided to simply commit to watching the sunset over the lovely harbor waterfront. To balance the commitment to go for a full bottle, we decided to try various plates from the Small Plates menu and would likely order every single one of them again(see photos). We had phenomenal service and everything was great quality. I honestly have no idea why the overall star rating is low here. One of the times I’m actually glad I didn’t check the reviews first.

I had been wanting for awhile to check out Le District and after browsing the market, my boyfriend and I decided we wanted a sit down meal. We came in on a Saturday night and had no problem getting seated right away inside, while there was a wait for being seated outside. We started with the heirloom tomato salad which had a delicious basil pistou. Then for the entrée, our waitress recommended we both get the grey soles. I normally wouldn’t order the same thing as my boyfriend but she highly recommended that we do. This entrée was very delicious! Service was fine. I would recommend this place to others if they’re in the area!

Such a pretty place… we just had to stop. It was a gorgeous sunny summer day. Outdoor seating felt as if we were on vacation. Perfect spot!!! Started off with cocktails. They were wonderful! We felt like breakfast as we sipped our drinks looking at the water, feeling a warm breeze and a great vibe! Our waiter was very nice and had a great smile. Ordered a breakfast basket… croissants…as the waiter brought them over to our table, I could see they were overly processed… not what we are used to at the finer eats in NYC… VERY disappointing… Actually, awful! Our scrambled eggs with salad presented nicely, but in fact, were overly salted and dry. The salad salty too. Our guess… Beaubourg is a Tourist Spot… Not for us NY Foodies! Magniificent View, Nice Cocktails, Awful Food :(So so so sad… A Waste of a Beautiful Location!

Ambiance is nice and I like the outdoor seating but besides that this place was lacking in food and service was questionable. For the most part the food was average but a friend ordered the lobster pasta and I think it was the mushiest pasta I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Foie gras had no taste, scallop was overcooked But my fish was good though it was under seasoned(which is better than being over seasoned I guess). We ordered some entrees and one appetizer between the 4 of us because we had a late dinner and one friend was only joining for drinks and we were pushed to order more food even though we clearly told them the situation. Also, they kept trying to clear our table and felt rushed. The wine was good, but pretty over priced.

Nice enough folks here and a great location, but pretty spotty as far as food and service. This is by no means a destination-spot, but I’d imagine it’d be great if I lived nearby. Decent enough food that was let down by various issues. Timing was off — our food came out before our entrees had cleared and so it went back to the kitchen but apparently wasn’t kept warm. Inconsistent amounts: we had a scallop entrée that had three smallish sized scallops. We had a duck plate that had two very large pieces of duck. We had a fish place that was(unless we are completely insane) not the fish that was touted as the special. Fun wine list.

I would have given this place five stars if dinner ended with the delicious foie gras… It was the best foie gras we had! Melted in our mouths… Awww… My friend and I were both sooooo satisfied with it! It’s the Monday special, remember, not the other foie gras from the everyday menu. Beef carpaccio was delicious as well, loved it! The entrees(one was steak, the other was fish) were just par for the price, so, from entrees onwards, d’oh, down to four stars, sorry. Service was great. Our waiter was humorous, attentive and friendly. I wish I remembered his name to give him a pat on the back over here! Too bad I didn’t write the review immediately. The view is no doubt the selling point of this place. Sunset view, by the water. What can be better than that?!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a quick meal with a friend. As I was being given a tour of Battery Park City we stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Located next to Brookfield Place and«Le District»(as one Unilocal reviewer described it — A French version of Eataly) this french inspired establishment has a plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. We opted to sit outside as it was a absolutely gorgeous day, and wanted to have a view of the river while we ate. Opted for the eggs benedict and wasn’t disappointed by this decision. They were quite good, but the portion was just a bit too small(Not sure that eggs benedict come much bigger, but a side of something else on the plate would have been nice). Overall it was a reasonably priced, and decent place but I don’t think it’s worth a return visit. The food court in Brookfield and Le District would suffice for a meal

Horrible, truly horrible. This place is lost. They certainly have not found their stride, the menu needs help. We are not sure where they source their French provisions but this is NYC and we have limitless excellent French options, this is not one of them. Let’s talk about staff; there are many but they are standing around doing nothing. When our server did come over he spoke for longer than necessary to explain the relationship between the restaurant and vueve cliquot. I then waited 10 minutes to taste a wine by the glass because it wasn’t ready yet(?). The wait for Entrees at brunch was about a 45 minutes. I had to speak to the manager 2x about the slow service and the fact that my 91 y. o MIL had to wait that long for food. The food was awful, worse than airport food. My dog won’t even eat my eggs. See the pictures… Don’t go here.

Come here because of the food. Come because it’s a sleek, pretty dining room filled with a mix of neighborhood families, tourists, and somewhat fancy people. Come because it has some incredibly well-executed(technique, ingredients, sauce-dressings are spot on) French food– the best croque monsieur we’ve found in NYC and a terrific duck breast with simple perfect green beans and turnips – and when’s the last time stopped to appreciate green beans and turnips. It may seem like not a lot of duck for the price, but it had the perfect ratio of skin to fat to meat and turned to be a completely satisfying amount. The chocolate on the profiteroles was soooo good. Some of the other reviewers complained about service, but we found Alain to be a gracious and sweet server. We did not feel neglected. I think the place is still working on the hierarchical and very Gallic notions(to my mind) of what service should be in this level of restaurant, so the over all effect is not as smooth as it could be. We’ll be back to try the other dishes on the menu and in the hope that the quenelles make a reappearance!

I came here on a Sunday afternoon to and they still had their brunch menu available. Complimentary bread and butter: I actually really enjoyed the bread and butter here. The butter was soft and salted and the bread was fresh and had a very nice texture. French Onion Soup: Oh man, it was SOOOO salty! They gladly took it back and brought out another one which came out better. There was not enough cheese and it wasn’t baked long enough. Oysters: Sundays between 2 and 4 they have $ 1 oysters. They had oysters from 3 different locations so I tried two of each. They were fresh and tasted great. Wish it came with horseradish, though.
