Amazing busy fresh! We ran into Sweetgreen for lunch today. The place was packed! This is an assembly line style cafeteria like Chipotle. You choose your salad base, then add toppings. The greens were crisp and fresh. The toppings were varied, the dressings all tangy. Terrific!

I’ve only ever been to one other SweetGreen location in midtown, and this one beats it by a mile. There’s usually a line that moves pretty quickly, but the best part of the Flatiron location is the staff. I want to be best friends with every single girl that works here. They are so sweet and fun to chat up while standing in line/paying. Not to mention their salads are bomb. I just wish they would chop!

Don’t know how they do it but it’s the best salad place by far compared to its peers. Key is to order online and pick up. Skip the line. Well worth it.

I love this place so much that I eat there at least 5 times a week. There is so much variety that I never get bored. I try my best to eat healthy and sweet green makes my diet so much easier while at the same time ENJOYING my meals :) The food is GREAT. I always mix it up. I love the Bento Bowl, the Guac Greens, the Harvest Bowl and mixing it up with Custom Bowls(wild rice + kale is a great base combo). I will say that what keeps me coming back the most is the A+ customer service. The line does get long(hence, a walking ad for how good the food is) — but the line moves very quick because the employees are so organized. Specifically, KINDRA is the BEST. She is so helpful and sweet(and has a beautiful smile). She always makes sure the customer is satisfied with their salad and that their experience is perfect. A+++

Love the addition of SweetGreen to Union Square. There salads are delicious. I’ve become a frequent visitor here and the staff is welcoming and super friendly. I am always greeted with a big hello. I love coming here. I also enjoy that they have added steelhead to the menu which gives a pescatarian like myself another protein option. Keep up the good work.

The NY version of SoCal’s Lemonade is here!!! After my move to the East Coast, I was missing Lemonade like crazy. I missed its fancy«salads» and dishes, and of course, the specialized lemonades! My girl friend, who’s currently(and cutely) obsessed with dieting at the moment, suggested this place for lunch one day, and I decided to give it a go! YES! The moment you step it, the environment is entirely Lemonade-like. Modern and chic! A perfect date spot/lunch break amidst the busy Union Square! They mainly serve salads, but sweetgreen does have a few bowls. It’s a subway-like venue, where workers customize your dish-adding in/taking out ingredients to your satisfaction. I decided to order the avocabbo salad. This consisted of shredded kale and romaine, tomatoes, raw corn, avocado, bacon, egg, roasted chicken, and blue cheese dressing. Not being a fan of raw corn and blue cheese, I asked for substitutes. The lady making my salad suggested the pesto dressing instead(olive oil and pesto) and even let me sample it with some sample salad. It was an amazing dressing! And the chicken, avocado, and egg went SO well with the dressing! I was in love! I love that they personally mix the salad in a metal bowl, individually! Tossed salads are always the best. I also decided to order the matcha fresca because… who doesn’t love matcha these days? Another amazing discovery! With a special tang of lemonade and green iced tea, I overcame my bitterness of not having Cali’s Lemonade. This place is PERFECT. I love that they have pick-ups as well, for those who are too busy to go through the line. This place is really oriented to the working people of NY. The upstairs balcony/seating area is also amazing and cutely decorated! sweetgreen is going to see more and more!

Who eats salad on a cold winter night? Not me. But when desperate times(e.g. hangry times) call for desperate measures, you will have to eat whatever is quick and available. And so this place was popping on a 8 pm Thursday night. Much to my amazement, most of the patrons were females who appear to have just finished working out at various fitness studios in the area. Yes, Lululemon and Nike written all over from head to toe. And duh, Soul Cycle is also down the block. I, myself included, also finished working out and was looking for something healthy to eat even though a Big Mac was very tempting. Not sure if it was my hunger talking but their Kale Caesar Roasted Chicken salad was pretty tasty. For $ 9.00, it was a decent sized bowl. I like that they put the parmesan crisps into the salad to add a bit more flavor and crunchiness(so over croutons!) You can also customize your salad bowl but my mind was reeling too much from the workout that I had no energy to think and process what ingredients I want in my bowl. Just kept it simple and straightforward. There is also seating on the upper level. But when you have a bunch of girls who are on a workout adrenaline rush, the place becomes like a Gossip Girl cafeteria. Overall, I would probably come back but probably order take out instead of eating in.

I visited here on my 1st opening day so maybe they’ve gotten better. I’ve ordered the guacamole greens several times before at different sweetgreen locations throughout the city. The employee I had this time was completely lost, almost forgot my avocado and tortilla chips that come with the salad. The girl next to him had to keep helping him because for the life of him could not figure out what went into the salad. Salad was not properly proportioned way more salad than toppings, all sweetgreen salads that i’ve had were well proportioned & mixed well which should be always for the price we pay for the salads. Other than that, he was a nice employee & I’ve always had a happy employee at sweetgreen, but please train your employees better sweetgreen!!! Also, at 1st I just wanted to get a winter chickpea soup but the employee said there was no soup when I got to the cashier to pay there clearly was soup. The space is nice, very narrow, and smaller than the 24th street location. There is seating upstairs with stadium seating if you’re into that.

I’ve ordered pickup from here at least 20+ times now, and it’s a great idea but this restaurant is very poorly managed. Problems I have with this restaurant: 1. The website claims to provide you rewards points when you order online, but after 20 orders I have yet to receive any rewards points. 2. They constantly miss/forget items in your salad. I’ve ordered double chicken and it was not added. I’ve had dressing not packed in my salad(multiple times). I’ve had rice not added to my harvest bowl. 4⁄20(20%) of my salads have had problems with them. 3. The attitude of the some staff members is deplorable. I don’t want to hear you huff and puff, or want a dirty look when I kindly ask you to remake my salad because there is a mistake in it. This is a business and when you sell someone a defective product, you should have no issue with fixing it. I know it’s busy but if you had just made it correctly the first time I wouldn’t have to ask, and I really wish I didn’t have to. 4. The portions are too small and they vary wildly based on the day of the week. I’m neurotic and have photographic evidence of this. 5. The online cart is broken. My coworker will never order from sweetgreen again because he has two salads permanently in his cart.

Sweetgreen in general is a refreshing concept for the fast salad market. The ingredients are in great variety and sound more interesting than most alternatives in the city. This location in general has some work to do though. Yes, you can place your order online to avoid the 15−20min lunch line. The staff seem friendly for the most part and build your order, if you come in, rather quickly. However, my one major critique, at least for this spot, is consistency. The handful of salad that I got was far less than the persons to my right and left. Then for the dressing that ask if you want light, medium, or heavy. The problem here is that one person’s light is the next person’s heavy. I think I’ll give sweetgreen another year until they can work out the bugs. For the price point, I’d rather go to Chopt.

I’m glad to see Sweetgreen open in the Union Square area. Great spot to grab lunch while shopping or even for the work crowd. The layout is similar to their NoMad location but seating is in the loft upstairs. The trash area could use better signs to clearly explain what goes in the compost bin vs. recycle & true trash bins. Since Sweetgreen uses compostable cups, bowls and utensils, pretty much everything can go in the compost bin. I tried the fall seasonal curried cauliflower salad and it was as good as many of the other salads I’ve tried. The roasted chicken was tender and flavorful as well as the curried cauliflower. Too bad this isn’t a regular item. You can also pay with the Sweetgreen or LevelUp app here and earn rewards for purchases. I went during opening week just before Christmas and some of the employees were still learning, understandably so. But I expect things will smooth out soon enough.

The Harvest Salad(+beets) was so so good! I would pour their balsamic vinaigrette on everything if it were possible! Happy to have this place in the neighborhood– will be going back again and again. The online ordering/pick up system is so convenient! Not to mention, the staff is outstanding. So sweet and helpful!

Let me start by saying how excited I am to have a sweetgreen close® to my apartment. That Kale Caesar is my go-to at least twice a week — sometimes 3 or 4(not an exaggeration), so THANKYOU for opening up in Flatiron. In addition to the amazing salads/bowls, I also love coming to sweetgreen because the staff is always so friendly and seems genuinely happy working there. Now the reason I’m rating sweetgreen a 4 instead of 5 is simply because my kale caesar at this location was lacking in the amount of ingredients/toppings. Every salad is… mostly salad, but this Kale Caesar had barely any toppings. Anyway, keep doing you sweetgreen — just don’t get stingy with my chicken and parmesan crisps in the process. ;)

Sweetgreen adds to the already crowded list of salad options in the city. When you walk in you’ll think you went to Chopt. That is no mistake. From the salad in plastic tubs in the back to the ingredients sitting in front of you behind a pane of glass, this place screams«I want to be Chopt!» The difference? Sweetleaf charges more than Chopt for organic ingredients. You won’t tell the difference though, only feel slightly better about yourself and be less rich. If you don’t care about organic, go to Equinox for salad or either of the two Chopts that are within two blocks walking of this location.

Great choice of made to order salads with quality ingredients. I had the harvest bowl and it was delicious. The staff was courteous and helped correct a pricing mistake. Great experience.

Staff here is friendly and made my salad very fresh. Clean and plenty of seating. Have chargers under the wooden seats for charging. Good for soul cycle customers to go to after a good exercise.
