A chain salad bar that offers salads from their menu with minimal fuss. It’s pretty straightforward — it’s the Chipotle or Subway of salad bars. You tell them what you want, you watch them chop and assemble. Simple. All fresh.

I had high expectations for this place and was completely let down. My order got messed up twice and still ended up being wrong in the end after both corrections. Way overpriced and it was mostly dry lettuce, half an hour later I was hungry after that 12 $ «lunch»

Attempting to think about the type of salad you want can be a very anxious experience during lunch, lines are long and you usually feel rushed. With this being said Dante is the guy to go to, ask for him. I know it’s only a salad but he might as well be a chef.

A great go-to salad bar when you need a quick lunch. It’s amazing to see the line wrapping around the block. Somehow they always manage to get me in and out in less than 15minutes… They’ve really got their operations down. Let it be known– a lunchtime visit to Chop’t is not for the faint of heart and indecisive salad eaters. You MUST know exactly which salad, what you want in it, which dressing, and how much dressing as soon as you arrive at the counter… Otherwise you’ll have a mob of angry businessmen throwing sticks if you delay the line! Pro tip: try the caramels!

I asked to have them mix in the salad dressing, instead of placing it on the side. I honestly didn’t think I deserved to be glared at by the worker, or cussed at under his breath in Spanish. Just because I’m Chinese, doesn’t mean I didn’t understand every single word he said. Next time, if you must be obnoxious, wait until after the customer leaves.

Great selection, fresh, and tasty. Really dig the concept and love how fast the salads are made! My only suggestion is to have a hot chicken option, that would make a huge difference.

Don’t be fooled by the similar price, the plates here are simply bad values, especially compared to the relatively generous salads. The Tres Chiles plate had very few sweet potatoes and very few brussel sprouts, and the sauce on it was pretty awful. The line in here is also pretty insane even before 11:30am, so I won’t be back. Transaction Amount $ 9.24 Tres Chiles Plate $ 8.49 Other* * tax or other one-off adjustments $ 0.75 Total Rewards — $ 9.24

I love this place and CHOP’t in general. The Mexican ceasar is my favorite. I find it a plus that I can actually anticipate eating a salad like I’m about to pig out for Thanksgiving. I used to go to Lenny’s; but I hate their Ceasar salads. and the Krutons are horrible at Lenny’s. I’m eating a mexican ceasar right now. Yummeroonies!

Chopt is one of my favorite health food salad and wrap spots in Manhattan. I always get the Kebab Cobb with Fried chicken and tisiki sauce. Gets very crowded during lunch time(12P-1P).

The Chop’t life is for the sharp, the keen, the lean, not mean– and lastly, those who are about the«greens.» Hard to eat healthfully and heartily for about $ 10? I don’t think so. The life of salad enthusiasts is made easy at Chopt. The narrowish space extends forever from its 17th St entrance southwards. Banquette seating with tables on right. Booths, two-top, and high tables on the. There’s also some seating at the windows. Lots of places to sit. I wouldn’t recommend group eating at primetime hours(LUNCH!). Plus it’s still nice outside as we are in the sweet spot of September weather soak in Union Square, so take advantage as WINTERISCOMING(had to throw in a game of thrones reference – ha no reason)! The décor is a clean aesthetic – bright simple not a lot of clutter, open space. The place doesn’t feel cavernous or cozy… it’s just right. This Chopt location is open til 10 pm which rocks. It’s perfect for downtowners who workout and want to grab a quick to-go meal – or cooldown from an evening sprint with a crisply cool salad. Looking for hot date idea that’s cool – run the southern tip of Manhattan and endpoint at Chopt for eats #seewhatiddithere This Chopt works like clockwork like every other location I have visited so far. Look at the menu and choose from Chopt’s suggested eats which are a host of salads, wrap sandwiches, salads topped with hot food, etc. My go-to’s lately are the Santa Fe – subbing romaine with kale – lots of crunch in that salad! Mmmm. Or you can custom order your salad, sandwich, etc. That to me takes to long and often involves uhhhhhs and ummmms as a Chopt employee patiently waits. I wish they would do away with the custom salads because that is how the lines at Chopts can go from normal to CROWDzilla in a few minutes. lol. But to each his/her own. Once you place your order, you get a paper slip detailing your order. You slide down the line and a friendly Chopt ninja slices and dices your salad before your eyes before tossing in a bowl to dress it with dressing to your liking or wrap it in a wrap. Salad come with a thin slice of wrap bread if you want. Next and last stop – the cashier. Pay cash, credit, or through the CHOPT app(download the app as you earn rewards for paying through the app!). Chopt have juices, water etc. to wet your thirst and snacky foods for grab n go at the register. The staff is nice and efficient. Not super chatty. They keep things moving as they know you’re a Type A New Yorker and must have everything immediately and instantaneously. lol All jokes aside. The folks here work hard to making your better eating simpler. Hi, Hello, How Are You, etc. go a long way. Try it out the next time you’re here or anywhere. The eats are clean. The digs are clean. The attitude is clean. PROTIP: I only eat here during off lunch and evening hours bc CHOPT is popular with the business day work crowd in the Union Square area. You were warned. You can order ahead via the Chopt website for delivery. Do it if you must eat at high-traffic hours. You can thank me later. Drops mic to go green. seewhatididthere i out. Zzz.

I work in the area and come in for lunch pretty frequently. It’s expensive, yes, but it’s convenient and the portions are huge. Customer service isn’t there, but I don’t expect any since I just want to pay for my salad and go. I like their destination salads, which change every season. You can either choose their salads from the menu, or customize your own. From my experience, the ingredients are pretty fresh and the workers move at a very quick pace.

I’ve been to many Chop’t locations across the city and so this review is really for all of them as a whole. Although there is a special shout out to the really bad ones(Pearl Street). You have to really pay attention and have eagle eyes when your salad is being prepared. It’s a pretty persistent problem that there are ingredients missing from my salad where I have to point out the missing elements during the salad making process. Isn’t there training where you need to learn all the elements of the named salads?! What’s mostly missing: avocado — which is for me, the biggest deal. Also, the line situation is comical. There should have been some logistics majors or UX people who thought about this. Always just ends up being a cluster f — . Get it together!!! Redeeming factor: tasty salads, friendly staff.

Expensive for what it is. Super long line for lunch always — this is not an in and not type of place. Expect to wait in line 10 min + if you get there anytime between 1145−2p. A salad will cost you upwards of $ 12 and even more if you get a «premium» topping. An avocado is considered«premium». I recommend you go across the street to one of the other millions of places in this neighborhood, save yourself a few dollars and also get something better quality to eat! I also don’t really like that they chop everything on the same surfaces. Especially if you are veggie/vegan this will bother you… Seems like there could be chicken juice in my salad or something.

Long line! Buts its ok! They serve fast enough. U wont wait long! Speed is all matters. Its little pricy with meats. Ovet $ 10 for greens! Well… Thats ok. U will spend more than $ 10 for lunch in da city. They have many choices of dressing. But watchout. Some dressings are very salty! Over all its ok. Maybe once a week is good.

Since moving to New York I’ve found that this city is obsessed with chopped salads and I couldn’t be happier about it. Something about those tiny pieces make a salad just so much tastier! It’s for that reason I visit Chop’t. If they didn’t do chopped salads, I probably would skip it because the lettuce isn’t always as fresh as it should be, and they’re a bit skimpy on the ingredients. Last time I was there I paid extra to add Mexican street corn to my salad and I think I saw like 5 kernels in there. Another negative is that there’s always a line out the door during lunch hours, but to their credit they make it move very quickly! I am a fan of the Mexican Caesar salad — I’m not the only one because everyone in line with me always seems to be ordering it as well. Make sure you tell them you want Mexican Caesar dressing — it’s not assumed that because you got the Mexican Caesar salad that you’ll get the complementary dressing, and once or twice I got their regular caesar dressing, which really isn’t as good at all. I’d say it’s good for a once a month or so visit when I’m feeling like a salad for lunch!

It’s a mixed review. As a company, Chop’t offers great options, good meals and great service. The menu gives you a ton of pre-scripted salads to choose from or you can make your own. They have a whole range of salads and wraps from the über healthy to the deceptively fattening. And this spot doesn’t disappoint in that regards. So I’d say a full 5 stars to the company as a whole. HOWEVER, i wanted to make this review about this location in particular. It’s incredibly busy with a constant line out the door(as others have noted) and this is due to its location. Even worse is the way the store is setup with it’s galley style line and pure chaos(not the best location planning). The prices are highly over priced for the area. The staff try but they’re constantly overwhelmed with the masses that it’s often lacking in execution. Hopefully they can find another, larger location nearby to bring themselves more in line with the demand, otherwise, I’d avoid it if at all possible unless you want to be unfairly disappointed.

What happened to you Chop’t? I miss the old you. I have frequented Chop’t over the years and it was really great in the beginning. In fact, I was a big fan and would’ve rated it 4 stars this time last year. Now I only go there begrudgingly when I feel like being ripped off. The main reason is that as time has gone on, they’ve really skimped on the portions of toppings/extras. They’ve replaced average sized portions of vegetables, chicken, or whatever else… with more lettuce. The service is hit or miss and some folks are nice while others aren’t. That’s to be expected in a busy lunch spot in union square of course… But I feel like I everytime I ask for an extra beet or a little bit more corn, I get a big attitude from the staff. My theory is that management told the staff to follow specific portion guidelines and they probably get asked by every customer to add more. It’s still a clean place that offers a good salad. But as far as I’m concerned they’ve gone quite downhill.

I never understood the appeal until I walked in with a friend and picked the Palm Beach salad with shrimp. I don’t know what they put in that white balsamic vinaigrette, but it’s crazy good. Now I crave it on a weekly basis. If you’re there late in the evening, they tend to run out of certain ingredients. Now if they could JUST open a location in Dumbo, I could satisfy my craving on a more regular basis…
