With only $ 60 my boyfriend and I had plenty of food!!! We found this restaurant on our way back home from Baruch College. Amazing food! And great service. The only thing was that for some reason the bar was already closed when we got there(11pm pretty late).

This such a good place with a good, healthy menu. But all four times I have gone the service has been so abysmal with a nearly empty restaurant. They take a very long time to acknowledge you, standing at the door, then tell you to sit wherever you want, and don’t bring menus for a while. The last time we went we were completely forgotten about and had to go inside to ask for drinks. Our food then took forever, and screwed up an order. They apologized profusely and gave us a dessert on the house so we were placated and returned. Upon return we were ignored again at the door and waited for menus ten minutes before throwing up our hands and leaving. It’s such a shame because the food is very healthy, tasty and prepared well, with sizable portions. I hope they clean up service immensely, otherwise I will not return.

A great lunch option in the area with plenty of seats and typically without a line out the door unlike so many other places nearby. My personal weakness at Stix is their grilled chicken sandwich. It’s a pita wrap with lots of chicken, greek salad, a few french fries(!) and a heavenly sauce mix of honey mustard and caper aioli. I ordered it on a whim one time and have been hooked ever since. At $ 8.50 it’s a pretty great deal as it’s super filling. It’s not the healthiest lunch possible, but it could also be a lot worse(see: 99 cent pizza place down the street and Shake Shack a block away). A good in-between option if you’re in the mood for something different for lunch!

So I’ll start with the good. Prices for meals are pretty good and reasonable. The food is great itself and its always cool to see a unique restaurant making it. The happy hour specials are solid as well and the drinks are strong. That being said… With happy hour drinks they only had two of the options available which is quite sad for a Saturday when I’d expect you to be stocked. Secondly, most of my group ordered sandwiches and they come with fries on them. None of us wanted this so we simply asked for them to be brought on the side and not on the sandwich itself, something they just could not comply with as if it’d break their business model since its a few buck extra for a side of fries. We didn’t want extra fries, just the ones we’d get anyways put on the side. When they finally agreed to it, we still got charged(each person) for a side of fries. The waitress herself(who’s name escapes me as this was about two weeks ago) was so slow everything took forever to get and had little knowledge about the menu. When it came time to pay and we had mentioned at the start that most of us would be separate except for the two couples, we got extremely annoyed. She had apparently not been writing down what we had and thus just gave us a very long listed bill and walked away. This was extremely frustrating as everything was grouped together so we had to list out cards and orders to the extreme. We also discovered 3 drinks that were charged to us that had never been ordered so that was taken care of at least. Overall a poor experience which is a shame because the stix were so good themselves(we shared a few). I will probably not be returning.

Cute space that feels like an airy wine bar. Food is decent — the tzatziki and spicy feta are delicious. The meat on the stix was, in my opnion, overcooked and oversalted. Lots of options, traditional and more contemporary. Hummus was not that exciting. Prices are quite reasonable. Good place to come and grab a casual bite, but I wouldn’t suggest it for a date or for someone you are trying to impress. I did think it would be a great place to bring a gluten-free friend, given all the meat and veggie options. Skip dessert.

I am a fan of this place. I have been here a couple of times since it is literally like a block away from my job. I have only gone for lunch but it has always been a good time. Recently I wanted to try something else and I got the Lamb Kefte Sandwich which was very good. I felt it was seasoned good and it came with a little fries inside the sandwich which was awesome. I have also tried the fries and mac and cheese and the chicken stix. So far everything i have tried here has been delicious. The space is big enough I would say and in the warmer months they open the front doors. I will definitely be back for lunch here.

Because I had a wonderful time at both Elite Events at the Astoria and Indigo Hotel STIX locations, I did not hesitate to purchase their Groupon promotional deal: $ 47 towards: Dinner or Lunch for 2: 2 glasses of wine, 1 Stixball, choice of 1 salad shared, and 1 Stix platter for 2. Pros: * Great location right by Madison Square Park * Came on a Saturday night around 7PM, and there was no wait at all for a table. * There was SO much food with this Groupon: we were stuffed even before we received the mixed platter, and ended up taking a lot of food to go. * Best dish that night were the Mac & Cheese Balls(with truffle oil, caper aioli sauce). Balls were crispy on outside, truffle flavor came out strong, and complimented perfectly with the aioli sauce. The sauce was so delicious that we ordered more for the rest of the meal. We also loved the tender and juicy Free-range Chicken(with honey-mustard & thyme) and Steak Stix. The Farmers Blue came with a generous portion of roasted beets, dry figs, blue cheese, hazelnuts, and croutons, which was yummy– personally I thought the salad would have been better with arugula versus kale leaves. * Service was stellar. Our waitress Marifily, was super friendly and attentive. * Make sure to check in after 9PM for complimentary dessert– we ordered the Warm Chocolate Cake, and it was phenomenal! Cons: * Although we enjoyed the Meat Lovers Stix Platter for Two, the fries were unfortunately soggy and sausage dry. Overall, the original bill came to $ 83.83…~$ 100 including tax and tip(for what we ordered, this is pretty pricey). With Groupon we paid $ 68.9 including tax and tip, a hefty discount. Would definitely return with another voucher.

How has Stix not been in my workday lunch routine sooner? This place is a stones throw away from my office and is serving up some of the tastiest mediterranean fare that I’ve had in a while. They have large front doors that they keep wide open to let sunlight and fresh air into the restaurant, making it a great lunch spot for a day when it’s just too hot to sit outside. My coworker and I came in for lunch the other day and the menu had so many choices that it took me a solid 20 minutes to decide what dish was worthy of my coveted lunchtime pick. We both went with the lamb shawarma style sandwich. The tender and braised pieces of lamb were seasoned to perfection and came wrapped up in a chewy pita with fries, greek salad and the piece de resistance — tzatziki. I’m an absolute sucker for this sauce and firmly believe that it can make or break a gyro. Stix’s tzatziki most certainly made the dish and I’ll probably be ordering a side of it with any of my future meals here. The sandwich section on the menu was a little confusing– to be clear the fries and greek salad are in the sandwich and not on the side. The happy hour menu sounds like a steal so I’ll have to stop by for that next time.

*** Quick Service, Family Style, Casual Setting *** The food here is very family style oriented. You can order a bunch of items to share and you’ll definitely feel full afterwards. It’s also decently priced. I only tried all the vegetarian items but they were all pretty tasty. I’m not sure if I would come back here again though.

Yum! Wandered in on a whim while wandering the streets. Seated immediately. After a couple minutes, the waitress came over to ask if anyone had given us menus. We said no and lasers shot out of her eyes over her coworker’s failing to do so. Now, that’s a waitress I can like a lot. She quickly brought menus to us and soon returned with our drinks. She answered our menu questions and took our orders. We never saw her again. I always love seeming«family» dinner for the staff in restaurants. I looked around and thought, «Hey, everyone at that table in the corner is wearing the same shirt.» The staff were dining. Later they all silently disappeared. For two of us, we ordered one sandwich, one soup, five veggie stix, 1 spinach pie. It was a light dinner for me but I knew my stepdaughter had a smörgåsbord of desserts planned for the weekend so I wasn’t worried. My stepdaughter at her sandwich and part of the spinach pie. I ate everything else. We finished eating and sat in peace. Eventually we decided to go. We stood up and started walking to the front. The owner wished us a good night and thanked us. I asked if we could pay and he thought that we be okay. He then gave us two cups of tea gratis, which it turns out they give to you if you obtain their loyalty coffee club(two cups free, the first and last one, you just buy 8 more). Very charming and fun. Good food too and lovely interior. Emphasizes organic, local(I mean how much food is grown in the City?), sustainable.

Love this place and I recommend it to all my friends, but today’s experience left me not wanting to come back, well, at least not on Sunday’s for brunch. The waiter was rude and at first, and I thought it was just me getting a bad vibe, but then I asked my boyfriend and he felt the same way. He also dropped the check slip in the beginning of our meal, so we felt rushed to finish our food. I understand it’s Easter and no one wants to work on a holiday, but we couldn’t enjoy our meal after feeling all weird. When asking to box our leftovers, he took away our plate and chanted«I will box this for you… I will box this for you… I will box this for you…» And laughed as he approached the kitchen.

As I eat my chicken sandwich, I must say it’s fecking good. Not healthy at all which was what I was going for, but damn tasty. Stuffed with flavorful chicken thights, a small amount of tomatoes, peppers, onions and an overflowing amount of french fries smothered in a delicious aioli sauce. Amazing, right? Price is on point at about $ 7 for the sandwich. I ordered in the front to take away and it did take a little bit of time, but definitely worth it. The place is nice and spacious and at about noon was empty. I hear happy hour is good and if the food is anything like this sandwich I’m devouring at my desk… sign me up.

Having gone to STIX twice in a matter of two days should be enough of a sign that I am a fan. Not only do they wide variety of options available during lunch and dinnertime, but many of their items are gluten free. In addition, their motto: «Local. Organic. Sustainable.» YES! My first experience with STIX was during lunch. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t take too long for us to be seated even coming in right at noon. I ordered the Greek fries and a Greek salad. The fries came out first and might be my favorite item on their entire menu. It is served in this adorable metal shovel, topped with the right amount of spices and feta served alongside chipotle ketchup and some sort of mustard sauce. They come crisp and remain crisp until the very end. At $ 5 bucks, they are a bit pricey(but come at HH and they are just $ 2.50!) My Greek salad may have ruined my expectation of a salad forever and I am totally ok with that! Instead of a bed of Romain lettuce with a few vegetables thrown in like at other places this salad was purely composed of large tomato chunks, cucumbers, onions, capers, chunks of feta and Kalamata olives served on a stick! Amazing. While I was enjoying my lunch I noticed their happy hour menu and knew I needed to come back ASAP! Some key items on their HH menu, their STIX balls(6 ping pong sized balls) for just $ 5, selected appetizers for $ 6 and of course their amazing fries for just $ 2.50. For dinner we started out with the Greek fries(DUH) and the octopus appetizer. A large sliced tentacle that was slightly charred, topped with sliced onions, tomatoes and capers drizzled with olive oil, bite sized and served on a stick. Each piece had a crisp exterior but was both tender and sweet. For dinner I chose the salmon entrée. The salmon filet was grilled and served atop a bed of a chickpea, tomato purée and greens salad and buttered rice. The salmon was cooked to medium and came moist and flaky. The three components complemented each other very well and I enjoyed how the different textures balanced each other out. Unless you’re going to happy hour be aware that their entrees are a bit on the pricey side, but it is totally worth it. All of their food is freshly made to order and comes to your table piping hot. Their meals taste healthy and you leave not feeling weighed down and heavy. STIX has a very modern décor following a deep earth tone color scheme with both intimate seating and group seating options. Bathrooms are very clean and well kept(make sure you ask for the bathroom code). The only fallback was their lack of attention to their customers. During both of my visits it was nearly impossible for me to flag down my waitress to get my bill toward the end of my meal — even with a half empty restaurant.

Mellow ambiance. Very welcoming staff. I had the falafel sandwich and fries. Fries were rustic but tasty. The falafel was bright — not overly fried or heavy — and the salad in the wrap was very fresh. The highlights: The pita was great and the iced tea was exceptional. Happy hour was starting up as I left. Looked like a friendly place /clientele to grab a drink.

I ordered delivery from Stix. They forgot part of my order but did send out the missing parts when I called to let them know. The stix were really the best part of the meal. Greek fries were good too. I didn’t enjoy the spinach and wild rice side so much or the jalepeño hummus, which was quite small and not very flavorful. Their pita bread that came with the hummus was a little stale-tasting and not very good.

This is quickly turning into one of my go to lunch places when I want something filling and delicious. It’s a sit down restaurant, yet has the slight feel of being a take out place. Either way the food is delicious… And the dessert? Well I’ll get to that shortly… I’ve had both the chicken stix and the falafel sandwich. The falafel sandwich was meh in my opinion, but the chicken stix? Delicious. Very well seasoned and more importantly, cooked well. Comes out juicy and close to perfect. Appetizer wise, the shishito peppers are delicious as well. Nicely salted and just the right amount of spice without being too over bearing. Baklava Cigars are some of the most delicious desserts I have ever tasted, if not the best ever. This is an absolute must when coming here. It’s incredibly sweet, crunchy and just overall perfect. If nothing else, you should come here for the baklava cigars and taste a little piece of heaven.

I would not recommand this place… not to any one! Between the extremely slow service and bad food, theres nothing good to say. My family and I came here on a sunday, place was pretty empty. We received a warm greeting and were told we can sit anywhere we wanted. Once we were seated, our server greeted us and was very friendly. She explained happy hour and the specials. We went with happy hour specials and ordered Calamari, and Greek fries. Calamari was possibly the worst I’ve ever had. It was all breading and over fried. The greek fries were decent, fries with feta cheese. The frustrating part of the night was how long it took for the food to come out. Both my sister-in law and I got our food and waited 20 minutes– yes, 20 minutes, for the other 2 people in our party to be served. By the time we were all able to eat, my food was cold… to top it off, the flavor was extremely off. It just did not taste like meditterean food. Perhaps they were going for some type of fusion, but it was tastless. I would stay away!

Love the décor and the appetizers at this place. Super kid friendly with us as we had a 4 kiddos there(3 babies!). We met the manager and the owner, stathis and he is awesome. Super hospitable which will make me come back definitely. We had the meatballs, various skewers, truffle fries, and tons of drinks! Yum. Happy hour specials are pretty good at $ 5 for drink specials which is a huge plus in NYC!

Good food and atmosphere. Appealing happy hour menu. The place is good for groups. It can come out to be cheaper than usual meals if everyone orders small portions to share– especially during happy hour. I visited this location about a year ago and must say that the set up has changed and presentation changed. The food is still good and I love the concept of the sticks. We orders a side of potatoes and even that came with sticks in the shape of swords. If you check in with Unilocal you get a free dessert. I took a beautiful chocolate cake to go. Can’t wait to have it. The place is not big but can hold a big group comfortably.

We didn’t have a reservation, stopped by on a Tuesday night around 8:30 and the place was relatively empty. We ordered the mix grill which came with 6 different stix(lamb, chicken and steak), fries, tzatziki sauce and pita. A couple of the stix were overcooked and pretty charred. The fries are nothing ordinary, a little on the soggy side. Thankfully the tzatziki sauce was good, if you mess that up you don’t deserve to call yourself a Mediterranean restaurant. There is nothing special about this place that would tempt me to come back. I would’ve given this place 3 stars but the service was pretty horrible. The waiters were too busy on their phones or walking around with their rbf to pour us water when we sat down or take our order. Do yourself a favor, save your money and go elsewhere.
