2 stars because of the desserts and hostess/waitress…the brownie and choco mousse was a vegans joy. The waitress was super pleasant and attentive. The restaurant space/décor/ambiance was quaint but cool… The downside was our food… I won’t go into it in detail but the other 2 tables in the restaurant didn’t seem to thrilled with their meals either. Maybe the chef was off of her game today as she was too focused on writing her cookbook.

I’m in love with this restaurant and I’m not a Vegan. Our waiter Vinny(this guy is a ball of fun) was very friendly and gave us good suggestions. My friend had the cheesy burrito and I had the cheez burger. Both were great. The show stopper was the passion fruit cheesecake. If you like the flavour of passion fruit this was designed just for you. Incredible. Food here ranges from mild to spicy. There are two cooked options for the less adventurous. There are vegan ice cream selections and vegan cookies. I didn’t have them but I doubt they will disappoint. The restaurant can accommodate soy free and gluten free diners. Very interesting and unique. I would go running if I were you.

The food was good. The wait for the food was pretty long; a little over 25 minutes, but it was well worth it. I had the buffalo mushroom and pizza dish. The pizza was pretty small for its price but again, it was decent. They have a great selection and everything is raw, vegan and gluten free. The spot is cozy, the waiters are super friendly and they play nice soft music in the background. If you’re in the neighborhood try it, you wont be disappointed!

The food was very mediocre. And no one replaced the bottle of water after it ran out. I had the cheezy burrito, which I thought was a bit too salty and not flavorful.(I thought the Jicama fries were salty too.) The menu clearly refers to guacamole being one of the ingredients of the cheezy burrito, and I could swear there was none. I also did not taste much of anything tasting like salsa/sour cream. Towards the end of my meal, I told the waiter about the missing guac. and he asked the kitchen and informed me that they were almost out of guac.(I think they should make it very clear about what they are running out of when someone’s placing an order; this is certainly not a very cheap place.) He was nice to ask me if I wanted it replaced by a substitute, but I was towards the end of my meal and refused.

Was here a few weeks ago and got the Kale dulse salad, tallarines verdes de la lala and the cookies & cream mousse pie for dessert. My bill was pretty heft– 50-something bucks for only three items. But I have to say the food was delicious! The creamy avocado played off all the flavours so well but my only gripe was at 13 dollars, I still felt hungry after. I saved the tallarines for dinner and man, that pesto was fantastic! But the best item for sure was the mousse pie– this has to be one of the best vegan desserts EVER! SO creamy, rich etc etc. But at 10 dollars for a relatively small piece… eh may be a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

Came here with my friend off a groupon deal, and everything was delicious! If this is what eating raw & vegan is like, I can consider it an option! :) Definitely worth the try!

Delightful and charming service. I just went in for a pick-up bc I’m eating at another place later, but boy was I glad I did this! They were out of the jalapeño poppers, so I got the buffalo bites with blue cheese — oh my gosh!!! So so good!!! The buffalo bites were little mushrooms — deliciously hot buffalo sauce, really interesting texture — not slimy at all — and the blue cheese sauce was a perfect compliment. I absolutely loved every bite. Totally expensive but totally worth it.

This place is small and quaint and AWESOME. I ate here my entire trip to New York and tried almost everything on the menu. I’d recommend everything. Im not only Vegan but im Grain-free, Gluten-free, and soy-free and this place was able to fully accommodate me. the fact that its owned by nutritionists really puts my mind at ease as well. They were also the only place I could find that was completely soy free as I am allergic! I used a living social deal on my 2nd trip there but I also went without one and would gladly always pay full price. I totally wish I could live in New York just so I could come here as often as possible. what did I eat u ask… what didn’t I… crab cakes fully loaded nachos pizza pizza cheesy burrito raw boy sandwich chocolate fudge cake carrot cake soul chips jicama fries and a soup. i think it was butter nut squash. cant remember. I just know it was orange and delicious and creamy and I ended up pouring it over a lot of my food cause it made a great sauce. everything tasted beyond awesome and it was all almost too beautiful and fragrant to eat!

As an athlete who likes to eat clean and eat whole and real foods, I was really excited to try this restaurant. I found a living social deal and was even more stoked. I have a dairy allergy and my friend is gluten free, so it was an ideal Friday dinner date. We both loved the pizza — I preferred pesto and she preferred roasted pepper. The pasta pesto dish was also delicious — super fresh and hearty. Crab cakes were delicious but small portions — only three small discs. Cannot wait to come back and try the lasagna

If you’re vegan, look no further. If you’re not, prepare to become one. As much as I love my vegetables I never thought about eating vegan food until i came across Rockin Raw. All the food is so fresh and made from scratch right there. If you’re a brownie fan make sure you try one from here. The fudge on top of the brownie is too die for not to mention the vegan pizza. You wont even notice that you’re eating vegan. Most importantly don’t forget to have one of their lemonades. You haven’t had lemonade until you’ve had one from here.

Bottom line: I ate enough kale to meet my fiber quota for the next two weeks. Longer version: To the shock and dismay of the omnivores in my family and friends, I confess that I will take tofu over steak any day of the week and I learned how to pan-sear chicken for the first time only a few weeks ago. At the same time, despite my Unilocal history of seeking out the city’s vegetarian/vegan establishments, I don’t think I’m 100% on board with shelling out $ 20 – 30 for dishes that I can readily assemble at home. But anyway. I was tempted by Rockin’ Raw’s all-raw(with the exception of the Jambalaya) manifesto. I wasn’t sure how much flavor, texture, and overall enjoyment of food are wiped away once you refuse to cook something beyond a certain temperature threshold — well, there’s a reason I made the personal decision long ago not to live on baby carrots and celery sticks. So I came here with an open mind. I opted for the nachos, after hearing so many wonderful things, and the kale salad. The clump of guacamole on the nachos was comically tiny, but I unexpectedly enjoyed the nut meat scattered throughout. Although the flax seed chips provided an appealing crunchy base layer for the toppings, they had this strange, medicinally salty aftertaste. What more can you say about a kale salad? I wish there were more avocado and more pumpkin seeds. Too much kale in my belly to try any of the desserts. If you’re anti-garlic, let the server know. I’m not sure whether the nachos or the salad was the culprit, but I was wafting garlic fumes for the next few hours.

Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the lasagna which was DELICIOUS! For dessert we got the lucuma cheesecake(super chocolatey) and then I got the cookies & cream –ñ– lucuma milkshake which was a little too chocolatey for me after eating the cheesecake. My boyfriend got the lavender vanilla milkshake which I had a bit of, the lavender overpowered the vanilla. Other than that the service was excellent along with a majority of our food.

I’m one of those food hipsters that thinks Michael Pollan should run for emperor of the universe. His mantra«eat food, not too much, mostly plants» might as well be tattooed on my esophagus. That said, Rockin’ Raw is right in line with how I like to eat as often as possible. Being a raw spot, they specialize in gluten free and vegan fare. They claim to be a creole restaurant, but I don’t really get it. They have everything from salads to interesting wraps and raw desserts, but nothing about the place makes me think New Orleans. Maybe to someone who’s never been to a proper crawfish boil? Regardless, it’s quality food for folks that dig clean eating. It’s small and BYOB, so get there early and bring along something tasty to sip!

I came by Rockin’ Raw yesterday because I was in the neighborhood and had a Living Social deal. I love the cozy atmosphere. It’s a great place for a first date, mid-week dinner, or eating alone. I started with the lasagna, which was out of this world. The portion size was pretty big and very filling. Every bite was satisfying and I LOVE the cream they put on top. For dessert, I ordered the cookie with vanilla ice cream(dipped in chocolate) and a piece of carrot cake. It was great(I definitely recommend paying $ 1 extra for the chocolate). The carrot cake was very moist and filling. I probably wouldn’t get it again. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. Nonetheless, it was great for being completely raw. My waiter was so friendly and polite. I highly recommend Rockin’ Raw to anyone and everyone.

Awesome raw vegan place. Great food. The nachos and the eggplant aji were excellent. The cake could have been better. Great atmosphere, very attentive and entertaining service. Does it smell like cold smoke in there, or is it just me? We filmed the food, the video is here

This is my first time ever eating raw vegan food! So I apologize if I’m not very good at describing this… Fully Loaded Nachos: By far the best dish of the night. The chips went so well with all the toppings, I was surprised that it was all vegan. It had so much flavor and texture. Recommended! Although I’m not sure what was acutally in the dish. Tallarines Verdes de La Lala: Basically this dish is spiraled zucchini with a pesto sauce. I’m not a big fan of zucchini so I can’t say I loved this dish. The sauce was good, though. Tallarines a la Huancaina: Very similar to the above dish but with a different sauce. I liked this dish slightly less. It was a bit too spicy for my taste and wasn’t «cheezy» to me. Lobster Roll with Cajun Jicama Fries: The lobster roll was pretty good, although it tasted literally nothing like lobster. It was mushroom in a horseradish sauce in a wrap. The fries were not as I expected, though. The jicama was tossed in this sweet and sour sauce. I also think it would help a lot if they said what was in the dish. I didn’t know that«live pasta» meant zucchini and I wasn’t sure what any of the toppings were in the nachos but I guess I could’ve asked!

Cute little restaurant. but very easy to miss when youre walking by. Went here today because a friend had a groupon. It was our first time trying«raw vegan» and i have to say it wasn’t bad! I thought all the dishes were pretty creative and tasty. I really enjoyed the pesto pasta– the sauce was so rich and creamy! The service was a little slow and the food a little overpriced, but I would definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for filling vegan food.

I really want to like Rockin’ Raw. They have a great mission, a great menu, and a great location. But the food and service just aren’t as good as they should be. The deserts are fantastic, and if this were a raw desert place I’d give it 5*, but the food isn’t that impressive when compared to other raw and vegan restaurants in the city. The service is fine but not particularly warm. I’ll continue to try and look forward to changing my review. There are very few raw options in the city and I really want this place to succeed!

While the ambiance was charming, an intimate setting adorned with random rock n roll memorabilia and vintage furnitures, the dishes were lack-lustered(in terms of convincing me that raw food could be exciting). It left a lot to be desired for, i.e. my appetite. Generally, I’m not a fan of a raw diet, but I’m convinced that taste should not be sacrificed for the sake of eating clean, sadly the dishes I’ve tried were just average in taste. For appetizers I sampled the eggplant aji and jalapeño poppers. There was a concensus among us, a cohort of vegans, that the appetizers were just average. I would also opine a little salt never hurt anybody. The main course on my plate that night was the Tallarines Verdes de La Lala, a live pasta fashioned from zucchini noodles and tomatoes tossed with a Peruvian style pesto sauce. It was okay. The soy based lavender-vanilla milk shake was filling. I did not find a hint of lavender that I was expecting, nonetheless it was the best thing I had that night aside from the Peruvian coffee. Like the raw vegan fare that night, the service was decent. The waitress seemed to have neglected our table. In summation, the dining experience was not one for the books.

Mehhhhhhh Food was bland. Service was below average. Jambalaya was awful. The pesto pasta was okay. I came here a couple months back with my sister. First off they were out of nearly half the menu. So we ordered from the limited menu but later the server came back(not promptly might i add) to tell us they didnt have it. Our server was so awkward and inexperienced to say the least. My sister couldnt even finish her dish. I am a fan of vegan food, but they don’t do a good job at executing it. the jalapeño poppers were so terrible. Do not recommend. Will not be returning.

WOW. Everything here was amazing! We started out with the nachos. They were so filling and delicious. The nut meet really hit the spot. I forgot what the cheese is made of, but I need it in my life. We sat near the window, where there were some plants. Some bug fell onto the ledge, but it didn’t get into our food. The pasta was delicious. Like others, I didn’t know it had to be cold. I thought it would at least be room temparature. Cold or not, it was a treat. I had the Tallarines a la Huancaina, but they were out of the Peruvian corn, so they just gave me more of the other veggies. It was a real treat. There was only one person working there. She was the hostess and the waitress. She was awesome and attentive. She seemed to have an authentic interest in the food and the place. And she knew the menu like the back of her hand, which is always a plus. I washed down my meal with a shot of lemon juice and magnesol. I left stuffed, happy, and guilt free. I can’t wait to go back!
