Sadly the lines and wait times here have gotten ridiculous as their popularity has grown. I hope By Chloe can streamline operations — if not expand the original store and open new locations — to alleviate the current situation. Stopped by Friday at 3pm to pick up a salad and had to wait 35 minutes for my food — after waiting ~10 minutes to order. I love the food — but with those times I could literally sit down for a meal elsewhere or go shop and toss a salad myself.

The Greek Salad and Avocado Pesto Pasta here is amazing! Very filling and the price is not bad for the village. Not a fan of the Mac n Cheese though. It was a little bland and difficult to get through. However, it gets very busy here during lunch though. The line is often out the door and at times it can take about 45 minutes to finally get food. Seating here is also very limited/chaotic, but the significant wait time can usually ensure that you can find a seat.

Caught these guys at Governor’s Ball and had a great veggie burger. Sadly they didn’t have be avocado burger or fries, so I’ll still have to visit and try that! My cousin loved her fresh green juice, though you couldn’t pay me to drink that crap.

The food: My friend & I got the taco salad, mac & cheese, sweet potato fries & a cookie. The taco salad was good and EXTREMELY filling. You can definitely make two meals out of it(even though I practically ate the whole thing on the spot). However, I don’t know if I would say that is the go-to. If I were to go back, I probably would order something else. I was not a big fan of the Mac & Cheese. The pictures make it look great but it really didn’t have the genuine mac & cheese taste to it. The sweet potato fries were already slightly cold when they came out and really nothing special. The cookie didn’t taste like anything spectacular. Overall, the food is pretty impressive but I don’t know if I’d say it’s to die for. I think if I were to go back I’d definitely try the ice cream and the burger.

Went yesterday and loved it! I arrived there at around 2:30 with my friend and we ended up waiting in line for around 30 minutes-by Chloe is REALLY popular! The décor is really aesthetic and the whole restaurant is definitely more casual, fast food style than sit down style. If you’re able to snag a coveted seat, then kudos to you! But I saw that most people would get takeout bags for their food. We got the mac n cheese with shiitake bacon, sweet potato fries, a chocolate chip cookie, a cinnamon roll(it was GIANT), and a Thai salad. By Chloe is an affordable restaurant with really reasonable prices and is a must-visit for everyone! Mac n cheese: my non vegan friend said she couldn’t tell that it was vegan! It’s super creamy and you can get it in 2 different sizes! Would definitely recommend! Sweet potato fries: this was the only dish I was a bit disappointed about. The fries are air popped, making them healthier and tastier, but when we got ours, they were a bland, cold, and seemed a bit undercooked. Maybe it was just ours, but hopefully I get to try better ones in the future. Chocolate chip cookie: Amazing, is soft and chewy Cinnamon roll: MUSTGET! reminds of Cinnabon, albeit that there is a lot less frosting. It’s gigantic and unless you’re super hungry, share with a friend! Thai salad: too spicy for me LOL, but my friend said it was good

I love the whole concept! If you come during lunch hours prepare to wait your ass off. I popped in for a treat around 4:30 on a Thurs and waited less than 5 mins. The gluten free chocolate chip cookie is good but Tu-Lus Gluten Free Bakery does it better. Come during off peak hours and order the Guac Burger it’s

Finally got to try this place and the result is – hmm. I went right for the sweets because the savory items didn’t sound all that unique in that they could easily be made at home for a fraction of the cost — minus the heavy dressing which sort of takes things away from that«healthy» vibe if you’re into that. So we went for the raspberry tiramisu cupcake, Mexican chocolate cupcake, and the cinnamon-espresso chocolate chip cookie. Both cupcakes has good texture(albeit somewhat overly crunchy exterior?), and the flavor/presentation easily beats some of the other vegan bakeries in this city, but the«raspberry tiramisu cupcake» is definitely a misnomer. For me, tiramisu is all about the coffee/rum, mascarpone, and cocoa and the sponge coming together in one bite… This one was very acidic with the unmistakable texture of raspberry — which was good! But really no flavor of coffee at all, and chocolate was just a few specks of cocoa nibs on the top. So it’s a raspberry cupcake, but not raspberry tiramisu. The cookie was interesting. I personally didn’t care for it too much but my boyfriend thought it was great. He said it tastes like a toasted roti sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and chocolate. The place is also very hip and instagrammable if that’s what you’re looking for. Probably made cooler because ASAP Rocky was there when I went… So bottom line, ASAP Rocky is into plant-based foods, so you probably should too :)

Last week we had lunch at By Chloe. Yup, every single thing is done with plant-based ingredients. The cool thing is, for those who are not Vegan or are a bit skeptic of this upcoming lifestyle, that you’ll be surprised at how delicious and tasty everything is. I’m Vegetarian, but was particularly craving for something«burger like», so I ordered The Burger Classic and it was i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e. It’s made with tempeh-lentil-chia-walnut patty, pickles, onion, beet ketchup, special sauce, potato bun — Gluten-free. We also tried: — Quinoa Taco — spicy seitan chorizo, black beans, sweet corn, avocado, tomato, tortilla strips, crèma, agave-lime vinaigrette — Avocado Pesto Pasta — avocado-cashew pesto, grape tomatoes, almond parm, fresh basil — Gluten-free — Pesto Meatball — italian meatballs(portobello + veggie), marinara, sweet peppers, basil pesto, cashew mozz, almond parm, potato sub roll …and for dessert: — Gluten-free chocolate chip cookies — Raspberry tiramisu cupcakes — Chlostess cupcakes The place has not even wrapped up it’s 1st year of life and Chloe and Sam already have other locations popping up soon! Amazing work, girls! As they say…“Eat Well. Eat with purpose.“ Oh! It gets pretty packed during long periods of the day, so keep in mind that you may bump into a huge line… May people just get food to go, and other lucky ones, get to find a seat! My friend and I went here on a Wednesday afternoon(around 3 pm). The first impression we had of the place was that it was bustling. Most of the tables were filled. People were also ordering for take away. So that really gave us an idea of how much people seem to like this place. It is a bit of a small space so standing around waiting for our orders was a bit hectic but they have a buzzer system for when our order is ready so I guess you could always wait outside of the space to leave room for incoming customers. We both ordered The Guac Burger with a side of regular as well as sweet potato fries. Both my friend and I really enjoyed it! Although the patty was thin, it was flavorful and it was not dry. The guacamole they topped it off with gave it a nice creaminess and the sauce also added a nice sweet and savory flavor. The fries aren’t the crispiest but they were tasty none the less. Their beet ketchup isn’t half bad either. It’s sweeter and thinner in consistency than regular ketchup(if I were to compare it to Heinz.) They had a lot of cupcakes and cookies on display which gives me another reason to come back and try their food. It’s also located so close to Washington Square Park so if there’s no room in their space you could always take it away and sit in the park especially on a nice day.

My friend and I decided to go here for lunch one day since she is a recently turned vegetarian. The line was out the door when we arrived at around 2PM but it moved along pretty quickly and gave us time to decide what we wanted to order. I ended up ordering a quinoa taco salad and the original air baked fries. While we were waiting for our meals to be prepared, we looked for a place to sit. It was pretty crowded so we thought that we wouldn’t be able to sit but luckily, a couple was leaving so we immediately walked over to take their table(you really have to be a vulture at this place if you want a seat). It was about a 10 – 15 minute wait before our food was ready to be picked up and I was starving. The air baked fries were pretty delicious. They weren’t greasy and super salty like typical fries and they definitely tasted kind of airy, if that makes sense. I tried both the chipotle aioli and the beet ketchup and I have to say that I prefer the chipotle aioli. I’ve never tried beets so I suppose I just don’t like beets but it was kinda funky tasty(but if you’re into beets, by all means you should try that sauce out). The quinoa taco salad was also delicious and the serving is really big(I could have eaten half for lunch and half for dinner if I wasn’t lazy to carry leftovers so I stuffed as much as I could into my stomach before I couldn’t take it anymore when I came here!!). It reminded me of a healthier version of Chipotle but a smidge more tasty. All in all, this place is pretty cute and the food is definitely instagrammable(if you care about that, anyway). I’ll def be returning to try out other options!

I have been to a lot of places that make vegan food taste bland and«healthy». However, this was the first location I had been too that was full of flavor! I liked that the food did not try to imitate the flavor of the«original» but rather it had a great twist that allowed for it to taste much cleaner and fresher. There was a line when my friend and I arrived at around 12:30pm but the wait was not too long. The décor of the café is cute and great for the summer. Service was great as, despite the long lines of customers, the employees at the register were able to answer questions regarding the food effectively and in a friendly manner. I got the guac burger, air baked sweet potato fries and coconut water(from a REAL coconut!). The guac burger was extremely filling! The black bean — quinoa patty was not dry and the fuac was super friend — lots of flavor! The air baked sweet potato friend were more limp and soggy than regularly fried fries, but I felt that the texture of this fries was nicely palatable. The coconut was a great thing to see — nothing beats real coconut water! The employees will cut open the coconut for you and you can keep it; it has coconut meat in it that you can eat later. The beet ketchup was surprising and just had a little bit more of a earthy, tart flavor compared to original tomato ketchup. The chipotle aioli is AMAZING! definitely try it out; put it on your fries, your burger and even eat it aloe — it is so so good! Overall, great place for clean food! I am not a vegan but this food filled me up and it was a great to see so many options for fresh, clean food.

4 stars for the smashed avocado toast and the lemonade. One of the best lemonade I’ve ever had. Smashed avocado toast had plenty of avocado on it… although I’m sure you can make this at home for cheaper. The pesto meatballs were decent as well but regular meatballs still taste better. I can’t live without meat but wanted to try this place out because people were raving about it. I got the taco salad… tasted bland I wasn’t a fan. Not even sure what was in to. There was some rice, beans, corn, some meat looking but def not meat brown stuff. Overall I gave it 4 stars because I know I’m biased since I am not a veggie lover and I think if you are a fan of veggies this place could be okay. I recommend getting the smashed avocado toast and lemonade. Not sure about the other stuff if you love meat like me… It’s like fast food, you order and then find seats… can be hard to find seats during peak eating hours.

I think if all vegan friendly food was this delectable and visually appealing, more folks would have vegan diets! There is nothing really negative I have to share about the food. The guacamole burger was great! The patty is made from black beans, quinoa, and sweet potatoes. It comes on a really fresh whole grain bun and is topped by a corn relish, onions, guacamole, and a chipotle aioli. My understanding is that it’s also gluten free(however I don’t know if the kitchen is GF). This was super filling(for me) and I would likely get only this or share half of it with someone else. I also tried a small side of the avocado pesto pasta. It was actually a pretty decent portion! It was warm and gooey and the pesto itself is made from avocados and cashews. It’s topped with basil, tomatoes, and an almond Parmesan which is crunchy and tangy. If I was hungrier, I would totally order more food but I am stuffed! Can’t wait to come back. Please make sure to come early in the day or make a reservation by the way. This place is so popular that there was a line out the door on a Thursday(today) at 11AM! Seating is also somewhat limited so you may have to sit at a communal bench type table — which I did. It want bad though! The people who sat next to me were friendly.

If I could eat at By Chloe everyday, I probably would. What a beautiful place. My friends are the best of friends I can ask for. I absolutely love them for coming to a spot that is vegan friendly and offer delicious representation of how good vegan food can taste! I originally set my heart on the bean burger which is the main dish many patrons go for. However, the tiramisu pancakes were calling my name! I went crazy and ordered the pear matcha smoothie, cold brew coffee and pesto pasta. I’m not always in New York, so why the heck not? I devoured my pancakes. They were sweet and had a coconut(whipped cream). The pasta was not a complement and tasted delicious as a snack 2 hours later. The cold brew was not bad, not super delicious. The pear smoothie. Mmmm. My friends commented on how delicious vegan food is and were pleasantly surprised! I am fortunate that I was able to share a small portion of my life with my friends in an enjoyable manner! Now if only we can have food taste like this in the Bay Area. Perhaps I haven’t tried the right spots out yet. Hmmm.

Guess I will have to apologize and upgrade my rating to by Chloe, apparently I did not order the best food during my first visit, and this time, I totally got the hype! My friends and I got here a little bit past 1pm and the place was completely completely packed, and in order to line up, we almost had to squeeze inside the door! After a long wait both in the line and for the seat, we finally got to enjoy our dishes. We shared the small sweet potato fries and I enjoyed my smashed avocado toast and coconut. The fries were a bit different from elsewhere as they were air baked, healthy yet tasty. Avocado toast was indeed the best one I’ve ever had so far — with 7-grain toast beneath the thinly diced almond and carefully smashed avocado. The coconut was probably a bit overpriced(at 5 dollars), as it had nothing special and tasted just as a regular coconut! I’m so glad I paid this second visit and enjoyed every dish we have ordered. The only advice I would give is to come in as early as possible, otherwise wait could be a disaster.

Don’t get the hype of this place. It’s the idea of vegan/vegetarian fast food place — order in line then grab your own seat. I ordered avocado toast and shared the sweet potato fries with friends. Didn’t quite enjoy the avocado toast, it was too salty… The sweet potato fries is delicious and less oil than regular fries… But I couldn’t appreciate the famous beets sauce. It’s taste is too exotic, veggy, and sweet. In terms of business model, it’s similar to shake shack but still have a lot room to improve. 1. Since they are making such fast food type of standard dishes, I would expect them to be faster. 2. The staff was lack of energy. Since the place was noise, I couldn’t hear her when she was repeating my order. This place has both wow and meh. I like the idea and want to see they making improvements.

I’ve been wanting to try By Chloe for quite some time now after hearing so much about it and alwayssss seeing a line outside even in the dead of winter. I am not a vegan at all and love my meat but that doesn’t matter at all because the food here is SOGOOD. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon and I thought to myself — this will be the PERFECT time to go to by Chloe because who will want to wait outside in the rain? and I was right. NOLINE!!! The restaurant is super small only seating for about 15 people? Once you order your food you are just kind of standing in a cluster of people waiting for their buzzer to light up. I tried the greek salad and the espresso chocolate chip cookie. The greek salad was huge, super flavorful, and i even LOVED the tofu. I can’t wait to come back and try the taco salad and the burger. Tips: — Go on a rainy day — more likely to have a short line — Order takeout or have a friend stake out the seating

Ummm who knew vegan food could be so yummy and make me want to convert! As others have stated, the main downfall here is the waiting in line, waiting for a table, and waiting for your food to come out! But let me tell you, the small cramped space is worth it. I went with a large Mac n cheese which was coated in an amazing sweet potato and cashew cheese sauce. The best part was probably the shiitake bacon. It was so crispy and delicious and tasted exactly like real bacon, just a little bit thinner. I definitely gotta figure out how to make it. My fiend’s kale salad looked awesome and I got to try some of the maple croutons which were out of this world.

By Chole is taking New York by the storm with its vegan and gluten free cuisine! As a healthy food enthusiast, I had to try it out for myself to see if it’s worth the hype. Kale Caesar $ 9.95 — Very good. My favorite part is the maple wheat croutons. Too much caesar dressing for me. Air Baked French Fries $ 3.95 — Good, but not good enough for me to get it again. The beet ketchup had interesting sour after taste. I preferred the chipotle sauce. I think the sweet potato fries would taste better. Whiskey BBQ burger $ 10.95 — My favorite item of everything I’ve tried! This was omg so good! The consistency is similar to a sloppy joe, but don’t be put off by that, because it tastes just like bbq! Would definitely get this again! Mac N Cheese $ 4.95 — I’m not a big fan of mac n cheese to begin with, so I wasn’t too fond of this either. The sauce was too watery to be a cheese sauce. However, my cousin who loves mac n cheese, enjoyed this. Overall Likes: –Love how By Chole is accommodating the large vegan and healthy eating community in New York with fast and causal dishes, while also opening non-vegan palate and minds that vegan food can be delicious too! –Although on the expensive side, the portion sizes are substantial for the salads. –While waiting in a line that was out the door, they passed out free samples of their smoothies. I had the chocolate one, good, but a little too sweet for me. Overall dislikes: –Not everything is as healthy is it seems. Ex. salads drenched in the sauce –Long lines! Best to get takeout or have a friend grab stake out for seat while you order. –Food is expensive, and I’m not sure everything on the menu is worth it. With exception of the burgers, you can make almost everything at home for a fraction of the price.

Came here on a busy Saturday night — line was to the door and have been wanting to try By Chloe for a while. The spinach artichoke dip is solid — healthy chunks of artichoke in this one. We got the guac burger, meatball sandwich, and avocado pesto pasta. Overall impression was that the flavors were OK — they were able to replicate a lot of non-vegan flavors, which is impressive, but beyond that it wasn’t anything to write home about. Sweet potatoes came out soggy, but really liked the chipotle aioli and beer ketchup sauces. The chips on the espresso cookie were good, but wasn’t a huge fan of the rest of the cookie. Cold brew is pretty watery so I’d pass on that if I come back. If you’re vegan this would be a good place if you want some burgers and fries. Overall impression was that everything wasn’t bad — a bit on the heavy side.
