I’ve been going to Reamir since I’ve moved to the UWS 5 years ago. They are quick, helpful, friendly and professional. Benny cut my hair the last time I was there, and he made sure to listen, cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it, was friendly, and definitely made the entire experience enjoyable. Everyone that works there does a great job (I’ve used a few different people). It’s nice to have a reliable barbershop in your neighborhood, and I highly recommend Reamir. You can’t go wrong.

I’m a guy so I speak from that perspective. The only person at this place (David) who knew how to cut a guy’s hair is gone. Olga is nice and may do a great job for women but doesn’t know how to give a good haircut for a guy. Try someplace else.

I bring my 9yo son here for his haircuts. They’re totally sweet with him, regardless of who is there – very kind, very thoughtful and always eager to make sure he’s in charge of his own haircut. I wish they’d have a children’s price, though – it seems a bit silly that we’re paying the same as an adult head of hair.

They just whacked me $ 20 to cut our 17-​month old baby for his first haircut. You’ve got to be kidding me!

Not a good barber, but pretty fast. When I came in, there were a lot of people. I don’t know why, but I didn’t have to wait. They ‘fixed’ my hair in 5 minutes, with huge scissors. I wasn’t happy with it yet, so they took another 5 minutes to make it better. Never been to a barber that was so fast. The staff wasn’t very nice, they just wanted to help every customer super fast. Price was $ 19. When I came home and took a good look in de mirror, I saw that they forgot some places. You don’t see it, but I think there are way better barbers for the same price!

I joined Unilocal only because I felt the urge to review this place. I’ve been to Reamir’s twice. The first time I went, I got perhaps the second or third best haircut of my life from a younger hip Armenian guy (not actually sure what their ethnicity is). I loved it and bragged to all of my friends about the great Armenian haircut that I got for $ 20! That was about a year ago. Back in New York and excited to repeat the process, I went again. I got an older balding man, clearly straight off the boat. I wanted it to be pretty short, done with scissors, and thinned out with the back slightly shorter than the top, just like I always get… pretty standard. Clearly, by the confusion on his face, he didn’t understand half the words I said and I had to keep directing him to take more off there, yes I do want the sides shorter than the top, yes, cut the bangs like the rest of my head. He didn’t even understand me when I said ‘no sideburns’ and I had to take him through that. Is this guy even licensed? After all of this, he stands there and lectures me in broken English about how I don’t know my style and how I am making him nervous and costing him money. Anyways, most bad haircuts tend to look okay after two weeks or so. Not this one. If it were just for this haircut, they would have gotten one star but since they have at least one good amazing barber, I’ll give them two stars.

absolutely the worst haircut that i got in my entire life. and that includes my mother who used to cover my head with a bowl as a guide for cutting– i was made fun of in high school! (j/​k– that was when i was very little).
the young lady cut my hair (basic, no-​frills cut requested), but she ended up butchering my hair. lines weren’t straight, the arcs over the ears were crooked. it was a disaster. i had to go to another barber to get it fixed.
too bad that i pass by this place on my way to the subway and i have to give her a dirty look every time she sees me. if i were the dramatic kind (or italian), i would complement that with spitting on their doorstep.

Just took my boyfriend here for a haircut! It was super cute (especially for the price). Also, the décor was chic, the barbers were extremely friendly, and there was no wait (awesome for a walk in on Saturday afternoon).

This place is what it is. You get a decent hair cut for like $ 20 bucks. That’s pretty good these days and really good for NYC. The place is small, but easy. You just walk in and within 15 minutes you’ll be out of there. All of the barbers/​stylists seemed knowledgeable and capable of not making you look like a freak. The only annoying things were the singing of the barbers to the lame dancing music video they had playing (these guys are the type that probably go salsa dancing after work) and the fact that they charged you extra if you wanted to pay with a credit card… So if you’re looking for a new place, it’s worth checking out. And if they really screw it up, at least it will grow back… eventually.

Not the greatest haircut and certainly not the worst. Great value.

I stumbled upon Reamir & Co. on Labor Day when my normal barber was closed. Reamir & Co. was open, and did a great job. I needed a hair cut again today. So I went back. I had my hair cut by a different person, who also did a great job. I think it’s safe to say that Reamir is my new barber. They’re not overly chatty, or trendy. They speak English, and their prices are very reasonable.
