This is a great little shop! I have been coming here for about 9 months.
The fellows are friendly I always have the barber closest to the door cut my hair.
He knows exactly what I like and it is never a long wait. Prompt, efficient and prices at $ 15.00
That is a great price for the Upper West Side. I now live in Jamaica, NY and the prices out here are $ 17.00 and up.

Worst haircut ever! They might be able to use clippers but have no idea how to use a scissors. Stay away unless you are looking for a buzz cut.

Excellent barbershop. Community atmosphere, priced more than reasonably. Carlito cut my hair, and he was meticulous and took his time. I was very pleased with the cut, and that is quite rare for me.

I was looking for a black barbershop and I stumbled on Juanito’s. They do a nice job on my haircut, but I really don’t get anything fancy. I just get a 1 or 2 all around aka dark caesar. They charge $ 15 which is reasonable.

I was shocked when my bf got a haircut at Juanito’s. The barbers left a tuft of hair in the middle of his forehead. I have a feeling that Juanito’s employees were trained to trim bushes, not hair.
When the next day I came to Juanito’s and said that I want to complain to the manager, the barbers acted as if they don’t speak English. OK, I switched into Spanish, showed them the pic of my bf and asked who did his hair. Although it was the same shift as the day before, no one admitted that my bf’s hair is his work.
I asked for a phone number or an email of the manager. They refused to give me any contacts and told to come with my bf, so they will give him money back. I don’t want money back, I want to talk to a person who hires such barbers…
Juanito’s employees are the most rude and unprofessional guys I’ve ever met!

Great barber shop! They do a great job cutting hair, they listen to you and they are polite and professional. This is a favorite place for the men/​boys in our family. They even did an amazing job cutting my little boy’s hair. This place also has a nice community feel to it, where it is not unusual for people to stop in to say hi or quietly sit to enjoy the company or sports on their TV. This is a popular barber shop in the neighborhood, to no surprise!

Two days ago; I got the worst haircut of my life. It was so bad that I had to buy my own set of hair clippers to even out the line on my forehead.
I can’t say anything else about other people’s experience. Perhaps, those barbers were on vacation the day that I went, but visit this place at your own risk.

I’m surprised this hasn’t gotten more reviews, but I guess this is not the kind of place that attracts people who write Unilocal reviews. I’ve tried a lot of the salons in the area, but I just want a simple men’s cut. It astonishes me how badly the expensive salons in the area screw this up.
I walked past this place, and I noticed a very long line of guys, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I waited a good while, but this was the best cut I’ve had in ages. The barbers couldn’t be nicer, and they take their time. And it was cheap! But I would’ve paid twice as much for the haircut I got here. This is a quality place. I’ll look forward to going back.

So I searched through Unilocal around Morningside Heights for a barber shop that could trim my beard. I called multiple places before I decided to give Juanito’s a call, and they all either didn’t know their own prices and wanted me to go in to find out, didn’t answer the phone, or couldn’t speak english. I’M GLAD THEY DIDN’T THOUGH. Juanito’s is a really good place to go for a simple haircut, pretty much from what I saw anything that involves a buzzcut style could be well done here.
The guy that helped me out was Abraham and he was a very friendly guy. He made sure to line everything up as best as possible, and I’m very content with the work he did.
I paid $ 10 with tip for the trim.

Go see Gino. I can simply walk into the shop, not say anything to him (which is good, because he doesn’t understand much English and I don’t understand much Spanish), and still leave with an excellent haircut.
