My partner and I attended an event for two of our friends here on Friday evening and the whole experience was absolutely amazing! It all started out at cocktail hour in the gallery where we met up with friends and got seat assignments. Glasses of champagne were being passed around but you could go to the bar and get a specific cocktail if you would like. The views at the top of the rock are always amazing and this space was no exception. A few cocktails and after some wonderful hors d’oeuvres later we all made our way into the Rainbow Room. The room is spectacular and is almost out of a dream where everything seemed to shine magically. After a ton of pictures, everyone made there way to their seats and the band started to play. Entrée and wine orders were taken, I had the Brazilian fish and my partner had the vegetarian option which was a cauliflower dish. All of the food was great, from the mushroom risotto appetizer to the plate of small deserts. The end of the night dancing on the rotating dance floor filled with friends, laughter, and great memories. Overall I don’t think you could go wrong with the venue weather its for brunch, dinner, a wedding, or a special event. 5+ Stars for sure!

breathtaking. your jaw will drop when you rise 65 stories high in the sky and enter the legendary rainbow room. the place is meticulous, beautiful, sparkling clean. and you literally feel like you are in heaven up here as new york sweeps out before you with every monument twinkling in the sky. was here for a lovely private function in the main dining area. it started with cocktails in a side room that looked south on manhattan. there was the empire state, times square and more twinkling and beckoning. appetizers were tuna sashimi(i kept standing near the waiter to get more!!!), lobster blt’s(i kept standing near the water to get more…), and assorted bites. the main event for sit-down dinner and dancing was also just superb. the wait staff elegant, professional and discrete. the food almost perfect including a risotto with truffles that would knock your socks off. i mean it was so good that there was an extra plate and seriously– the entire table was eying it and someone very intelligently said it would be a shame to let it go to waste so the table each(of 8 mind you!) each took a bit of it to enjoy! for the main course i opted for the filet mignon and it came with a small lovely assortment of veggies. the filet mignon was the only disappointment of the evening, it was sooooo salty i didn’t know how that could happen. i almost wanted to cry b/c i wanted to eat it but it was soooo salty i couldn’t! dessert was a trio of tastes but i actually had so much self control(and my pants were getting tight…) that i couldn’t eat it all of it tho and had pangs of sadness as they took the plates away(i hate to waste…). they also served delicious hot piping coffee at the end of the meal maybe 11:30 pm so you could you know, über home safely without drunkenly falling asleep in the elevator. the event was four and a half hours, and i can say every single minute was a blast. the space really spectacular. the staff just so professional and great. and i guess it certainly helped to have a nice time ’cause it was such a nice crowd. i mean come on, like i only know nice people! anyway a few days after the event i’m still thinking about how glorious this place is and how wonderful the event was too. and for the most part the food was fantastic and indeed a treat. i do believe everyone was dazzled and happy to be here. i’m looking for a reason to celebrate something just to come back. oh yesireee!!!

I don’t understand why rainbow room Sunday brunch has raised their prices from 99 to 125AND got rid of their iconic buffet for an a la carte menu. Brought my bf and his parents for Mother’s Day and I’ve been raving about their brunch for a while. We get here and it looks like a Holiday Inn continental breakfast. It is truly shameful and so embarrassing. You basically pay 125 for one dish with an addition of a bacon and yogurt bar. Gone were the oysters, stone crab, charcuterie, risotto, and dim sum stations and instead it’s 2 measly tables in the middle of this grandeur room. Honestly it looks ridiculous now and the room has lost its sparkle. I really hope rainbow room wakes up and restores what made its Sunday brunch famous in the first place. In the mean time I won’t be returning and will be warning everyone I know to avoid it as well!

Overall, the dinner & dancing evening felt like an expensive tourist gimmick. Pros: Ambiance is undeniably lovely. Live band and dancing was fantastic. Appetizers and dessert were delicious. Cons: Service was terrible. The waiter mixed up most of the food service despite a pre-fix menu. First I was asked if I wanted flat or sparkling water. I asked for sparkling and got flat when he returned almost 10 min later. I asked if there was a vegetarian option for the first course(chicken) and was told it was no problem to have a salad instead. But he brought the chicken. He was gone so long that we had to flag another waiter to get a salad for me. The second course was a lobster cavatelli. The pasta, asparagus, and scallions were all over cooked. The lobster itself was fine. For the main course(choice of beef or fish), my table ordered two fish, but we were brought two beef and once again had to wait for the correct dishes to be brought out. Ultimately, better food and service can be found for much less. Likewise, you can find great music and dancing for much less as well. It’s cute to be able to say you’ve eaten and danced at the Rainbow Room, but understand that that’s really what you’re paying for.

Dining at the Rainbow Room – which has a single seating and prix fixe dinner only – is unlike any dining experience in America. The food is exquisite, yes. But 65 floors up, the room is like a little universe where every detail, from the slowly rotating new floor to the crystal curtains to the refurbished ceiling dome, creates an alternate reality. Run by the Cipriani people(among the most disliked in New York’s hospitality business for too many reasons to count) before the 2009 closure, the Rainbow Room’s reputation had diminished considerably. The view is the view and people would pay to eat Chicken McNuggets and drink Two Buck Chuck to gaze out on the most beautiful city in America. But people who remember coming years earlier(in the 1990s, say, when my friend’s son had his bar mitzvah there) had somehow stopped coming. When you mention the Rainbow Room to longtime New Yorkers, the response tends to be: «Oh, I haven’t been there in years.» Tourists continued to flock to the iconic venue but foodies weren’t excited. All that has changed and the new crowd running the place has scored a home run. The first three courses are set: rillette of duck confit and a small shrimp cocktail, chicken liver parfait with quail egg and a small bit of foie gras, lobster cavatelli(that doesn’t skimp on the lobster, which is both tender and flavorful), and then a choice of filet mignon or a black bass for the main course. All four courses were outstanding, though the dessert underwhelming. It’s too much food for one person, and I ended up bringing most of the filet home for a sandwich the next day. My elegant server, Klay, is one of three servers who returned after the closure and renovation. His love and pride in the place he’s worked close to three decades comes in every word and glance. Brian Newman, Lady Gaga’s bandleader with a standing gig at Django, the lounge space at the swanky Roxy Hotel in Tribeca, plays three sets. The band is phenomenal and transports one back in time. Michael Garin, a pianist in New York going on four decades(the Limelight, Elaine’s, and much more) provides inter-set entertainment, with a mix of Latin and non-Latin songs to which people dance between courses. While three professional dancing couples dazzle non-dancing diners, the dance floor was full of couples ranging in age from 30 to 75. Yes, it’s expensive. But next to Hamilton, the Rainbow Room is a bargain. And with Broadway tickets routinely 250 in the orchestra for hot shows, the prix fixe price tag is not unreasonable. One arrives at 7pm or 7:30pm and leaves around 11pm. It’s dinner and a show, and when you consider that spending four hours on the 65th floor feels like traveling to another world, dinner at the Rainbow Room is worth every penny.

Sunday Brunch at the Rainbow Room on April 3rd, 2016: I have dined at the Rainbow Room numerous times in the past for various occasions with nothing but gleaming reviews of the Sunday Brunch buffet. Excited to share this same experience with those I love, I brought my girlfriend there for her birthday, as it was her first time ever going to the Rainbow Room. We were excited and I expected nothing short of the usual amazing, sprawling buffet. Plot twist. The meal was nothing but disappointing. There is no longer the Rainbow Room Sunday Brunch buffet. It is now below the ranks of a Holiday Inn complimentary continental breakfast. Only offering ham, juice, and dessert stations, it is offensive to call such a buffet spread. Instead of the usual salad stations typically present, the restaurant takes it upon itself to provide appetizers now. Wow. No. First to come to the table was a plate of monkey bread and cheddar cheese bacon biscuits. Absolutely no. Both lacked any flavor whatsoever and we’re just sad, small, cold, and dry disappointments on one plate. Next came a bowl of a mixed greens salad that honestly looked like it came out of a bag from a bodega and a crudités bowl. The crudités bowl, surprisingly, was one of the only items I enjoyed. Overall, just incredibly basic complimentary offerings one could easily find, done better at any other restaurant. Even the franchised Mecca of mediocre: Red Lobster makes better biscuits. We were then given a menu and instructed to order one entrée only then would we be allowed access to the juice bar(which turned out to be just four nozzled-dispensers of warm juice that really were not good tasting at all), the bacon«bar»(which was just bacon, ham, pork belly, and smoked salmon(that all tasted the same), and the dessert bar which I shall roast/expand on later. For the Rainbow Room Sunday Brunch Buffet, one would of course be a little taken back, if not appalled that all they had to offer buffet-wise was ham, juice, and dessert. So we ordered our entrees hopeful for a comeback: Classic Eggs Benedict(similar to your corner diner) and Chicken and Vegetable Pot Pie(truffle was very pronounced, and the portion was minuscule). Both took so incredibly long to reach our table(over 30 minutes to an hour) that we were full off of just ham, bacon, and crudités by the time they arrived. Instead of the entire usual brunch buffet spread, including sushi, cheese selections, carving stations, dessert and crepes station, salad stations, raw bar/seafood, charcuterie, bread and pastry station, as well as ethnic offerings, the only«buffet style» offerings was a disappointing«bacon bar,»(why???) a sad excuse of a «juice bar,» and a measly dessert station offering cakes and cookies similar to those found at Costco. It is shameful and unfair for the rainbow room to possess such a grand reputation while offering a lackluster, cheap experience to first time diners(my girlfriend), while being aware of its original grandeur. Truly the most disappointing experience I have ever had at the Rainbow Room. After years of dining here, I shall no longer return as the glaring changes done to the restaurant bring it down to the ranks of a neighborhood Pizza Hut buffet. Or even worse than that. There are far more respectable buffets all over the city. It’s one thing to cut items from a menu-going from a buffet style to ala carte– to save on food cost and to lower food waste, but an unprecedented revamp of the entire dining experience without warning is almost offensive. I wish I could still recommend my friends, family, and colleagues to the Rainbow Room in the future but the restaurant is no longer the same The part that offended me the most is that I brought my girlfriend there for her birthday. At the end of the day, the entire occasion was all about her. I brought her there to make her feel special and to celebrate! But was ignored and she definitely felt it. I have visited the Rainbow Room in the past for previous birthdays and have seen various celebratory items come out. This time, nothing arrived. If that is not enough to make one furious, I was livid that our waiter did not even acknowledge my girlfriend’s birthday. Service: 0⁄5 stars(rude and confused) Food: 0⁄5 stars(inedible) Ambiance: 0⁄5 stars(because 90% of the buffet was missing) I guess I could say the classic, «If I could give zero stars I would!» review, but the one lonely star is for what the Rainbow Room used to be. Now only a distant memory.

I was so excited and looking forward to enjoying brunch at the iconic Rainbow Room only to be extremely disappointed. Brunch is $ 125 and I heard great things regarding their amazing buffet from a friend who had dined there last year. I was expecting a buffet similar to The Breakers in Palm Beach but sadly, they decided to discontinue their buffet and instead offer a few«stations» such as a bacon station, a fruit and yogurt station and a dessert station. That’s it, no buffet but the price stayed the same. All of the photos currently on Unilocal are very misleading since they discontinued what appeared to be a wonderful brunch buffet. So this is what you pay for: 1. Monkey bread and biscuits for the table: One piece per person and the monkey bread was cold and hard. 2. As much bacon and yogurt and granola as your hearts desire. On the bacon station, they listed that they had«salmon bacon» which started off being cured salmon and then quickly switched to just being your run of the mill smoked salmon. 3. ONE piece of shrimp per person for the table. 4. A crudité bowl for the table that’s enough to feed one person. 5. An entrée that will arrive an hour after you’ve ordered it. 6. All the dessert you can eat, but I will say the desserts were great. Drinks are NOT included and are very expensive. My fellow diner hadn’t even finished his $ 25 cocktail and it was taken away. Service was horrendous. After sitting there for an hour, our server informed us that he hadn’t put in our entrée order yet in order to give us more time to enjoy the«stations.» How much bacon and granola can one eat?! We also had to flag down people in order to get basic items such as forks and knives. Everything about our experience was extremely disappointing except for the view. The view is amazing but for that price, go to The Top of Rock, take a photo and then have brunch somewhere good.

I reserved 3 weeks ahead waiting for a full variety of international gourmet, but it turned out to be just a dandy traditional American brunch. We got seated, and given a menu, where there is very few main courses of choice. Benedict w duck/lobster/salmon/chicken, omlet w duck/lobster/salmon/chicken, burger/Sandwich w duck/lobster/salmon/chicken… And there is only a bacon bar, a yogurt bar and a juice bar. Bacon is OK, coz I’m not a meat eater. yogurt bar turns out to be my favorite. But come on, 125 dollars should be more than this! Dessert bar is not bad, at least 5⁄6 types of cakes including cheesecake and vanilla/chocolate icecream. But I only had two slices of the cheesecake coz they gave me this very dense cinnamon roll like buns/biscuits. We were given two types of biscuit at the very beginning. I just feel like they want us stuffed with dense carbon even before the meal. All in all, $ 300 including tax for two doesn’t pay off. Even taking into consideration the view. I can just grab a burger and go to the observation deck!!! That will cost much less but with better view.

We were here for my boyfriend’s birthday Saturday night for dinner of two. There are pros and cons. Before we were allowed to take elevator going up to 65th floor, we had to waited in check-in place for around 20 mins with all groups. Once you got in, it’s totally beautiful. The ambient and décor of the place is truly vintage and classy like 1930s. Live concert and live Jazz dancing fits perfectly in. The view of Manhattan is amazing we wish we were allowed here earlier to catch the sunset. The cons are the food is just okay compared to the other fine restaurants like the modern and the fig and olives. There’s no single dish amazes us and some of them is clearly not as exquisite as it should be. It’s an interesting experience however for almost 700 bill for 2 the food is just not that standard. We still enjoyed it and had a wonderful whole nights dining there. Most important thing happy birthday my March Pieces bf!

The Rainbow Room is hands down the most beautiful dining space I have ever experienced. The chandeliers, the orchestra stage, the wide staircase, the dazzling view, etc etc etc all of it come together to create a spectacular atmosphere. My girlfriend and I, being two 20-year olds, felt out of place surrounded by what I can only assume to be old and new money folks(cue Gatsby reference). Even from before you step into the dining area, the service from the mezzanine to the waiting room with the New York skyline view, you feel like a kid waiting in line to get on Space Mountain, except the wait is all part of the experience. The level of professionalism and decorum from the staff is commendable. Once we were seated, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of care that our waiter took to make us feel comfortable(sorry I don’t remember your name, Mr. Glasses and neat comb-back hair). The menu looked expansive. I wish I had known before going in that we could order as many things from the menu as we wanted(that it was all part of the buffet). We ordered the lobster benedict and the Luger Omelette. The former was prepared beautifully and tasted just as good. The lobster pieces were huge and delicious. The shrimp was an excellent addition. The latter was good as well, but the steak pieces could have been more rare(or at least could have asked my preference for how I wanted the steak done). However, no complaints, as it still tasted wonderful. The monkey bread doused in caramel was succulent. The biscuit, not as much, as it felt dry. I guess the two balanced each other out. The bacon bar was amazing, my favorites being the fatty pieces on the cutting board and the pastrami salmon(I must have eaten half a pound of salmon). The crêpe station was not what I had expected(they roll the crepes instead of keeping it flat in the semi-circle), but the creamed-salmon crêpe that I had was DELICIOUS(which I topped with more pastrami salmon lol). The juice bar had a ton of choices, but I went for the orange juice which tasted very fresh. The dessert bar had like 15 different options. I tried the strawberry pie, the cheesecake, and the chocolate tart, all of which were perfect. You may think $ 125 is too much for brunch. Normally I would say yes, but with the combination of the view, the service, and the food, I can’t help but think that this is one of those life experiences that everyone should try. The Rainbow Room is back, folks, and it’s bringing its former glory here to stay.

I came to the Rainbow Room for a work event, and had an amazing time drinking champagne, munching on appetizers, and snapping pictures of the spectacular views. The servers were all extremely attentive, and I think our group was very pleased with the event. We had some really great passed apps, including sliders, ahi tuna tacos, and pigs in a blanket. Even an appetizer as simple as pigs in a blanket was so well prepared. The hot dog wrapped in a flaky pastry with a dollop of mustard was served on a toothpick with a small faux pearl. To me these little additions made this party favorite so much more sophisticated. Overall, I was so impressed with everything about this event. I think the staff at the Rainbow Room did a great job with the execution. This is definitely an excellent choice for a very special occasion.

Views are stellar atop 30 Rock at the Rainbow Room! It’s not going to be 360-degree views, but one side offers beautiful city views and remember that you’re not that high on the 65th floor. I was here for a private event and enjoyed the space, the views, the food and the prosecco! I can’t comment on the regular menu served here, but the items offered at the carving station were excellent. Staff and servers were friendly and attentive. Good for a special occasion or casual drinks. If you don’t want to spend the big bucks to eat up here, you can pop up for a drink.

Was so excited for the world famous Rainbow Room Sunday Brunch. The brunch that had boasted having over 9,000+ items«inspired by cuisines all over the world» as currently quoted on the website is NOLONGER. After waiting almost a month for our reservation, to take my husband, we get to our table — and only then we learn that the concept has changed. As of this week. The price is exactly the same — except you only have an a la carte menu of your pretty generic brunch items to choose from. As of today you are welcome to try as many of the items as you want from a page of brunch items. American style generic brunch items. Therein lies the rob. I mean rub. You can’t help but feel like you’re being robbed having to choose between diner style quality pancakes, various benedicts and brunch items for $ 125. I very much tried to make this work, but two dishes had to be sent back. The hash was burned to a crisp, that it was literally charred ashen, acrid tasting carbon pieces. Ordered a berry pancake and instead got chocolate. For the $ 125 price tag — if there isn’t a buffet or endless variety, then the service has to be SPOTONPERFECT. Our server was very forgiving, and tried to make the most of our experience. She also explained to us that the front and back of the house were not used to this style of dining for brunch. The management was also accommodating but reminded us that we were now paying«for the view.» Except we had no view. We were in the middle of the restaurant facing the Bacon bar. Oh, about that bacon bar — from a person who does not eat bacon. If you are vegetarian or a healthy eater — don’t come to this brunch. If you like average bacon varieties, come to this brunch. There is a bacon bar. Don’t expect duck pancetta or foie gras, or even canadian bacon or ham. It is literally just regular bacon, lamb bacon, greasy pork belly or salmon pastrami. The bacon server served me a piece of the decorative squash pieces to try and accommodate me — except it was totally made for decoration and not even cooked through. Hmm. They give you a bread basket — which is like a huge juice cup of smaller items, and monkey bread which is just warmed up cinnamon rolls. They have a «yogurt bar» which is pretty much, grab a cup of yogurt and toppings. Hmm… They have a crêpe bar which is pretty much get a crêpe. Hmm… The desserts are ok. you have a choice of a half dozen deserts which include 2 types of cookies. Hmm. I wasn’t going to write a review, but I did want to tell the management that we were disappointed that the concept had changed so suddenly without warning to us. He was acting just a touch defensive saying that they were going back to their original«Rainbow Room» concept. He did right by us, but I was really put off by the«pay for the view» comment. For people who come to the Rainbow Room and pay over $ 125 dollars pp for the brunch($ 300 including tip for 2 persons NOT including cocktails), they are paying for more than the view. For all they know, the people they are serving, might have a better«view» at home than they are selling. They should realize this. Also I feel the manager was not aware that the style of brunch is an international genre of buffet that people actually seek out — offered mostly around the world. For someone who wants a great brunch with a view, here’s my suggestion. Go to Jane for Brunch. You’ll get way better lobster benedict, bread basket, complimentary cocktail after Noon, actually get as much food as you can eat there — then go to the World Trade Observatory. You will spend LESS and have a better experience than the Rainbow Room for Sunday Brunch. I’m really sorry Rainbow Room, I’m trying to save others from the disappointment. I feel it is my duty to forewarn future patrons while it might not be clear this buffet no longer exists.

Amazing Views of the Skyline! Whether you stand at the bar or get a table feel free to walk around the Windows(inside or outside) and go check out those amazing views! The Drinks here are plenty strong. Had to order a Manhattan just out of the history of the drink but I also had a Sazerac and that was plenty good also! Came twice on my stay in NYC. Had horrible service our 1st time,(our waiter seemed to disappear after we ordered an appetizer) the food was finally served to us over 30 minutes later and it wasn’t hot at all. Molly the Manager came over and made it right! She was very friendly and helped me book another reservation a few days later. This is a must visit when in Manhattan.

Gorgeous view and really attentive waiters. I loved the room, the history and the thought that I was hobnobbing with some rich people as well as other tourists. The orchestra was lovely as was our table. I was not impressed with the brunch. There was not a single dish that stands out as really delicious. I think the best thing I ate was a bagel. The brunch was like 90.00 plus my cranberry juice was extra plus tax, tip and you’re laying out 120.00 dollars for a vast array of just okay food. I am glad I had the experience and all but I wouldn’t go back. I can get a way better breakfast for a lot cheaper many other places. However, the pictures from eating at those other places wouldn’t be as fun!

Having a Sunday brunch(buffet style) at the Rainbow Room is a once in a life time experience. It will likely be one of the most fanciest brunch buffet one will ever go to. I treated my sister & my dad here(yesterday) as an early birthday present/celebration. They both loved the place. Service was exceptional, atmosphere was very relaxing, live jazz band was wonderful, and the décor was beautiful. Food was good but not the best(some food items were a hit or miss, and some of the seafood items were not that fresh). We all thought that we enjoyed the atmosphere/music/décor, more than the food itself. Nonetheless, I do recommend taking a loved one here for a special occasion. It cost $ 95 per person excluding taxes. Any beverages other than tea, coffee, or water will be an additional fee. Our waitress was very sweet, she offered us complimentary ginger champagne free of charge, and brought my sister a cupcake on a platter that had«happy birthday» written in chocolate on it. My sister was surprised but very happy with the gesture. Tips: Try to make reservations 2 months in advance on their website. I recommend going to the 1st time slot(the 11:30 am) one — better dibs on tables and foods.

I took my parents for brunch last weekend. Book in advance as the venue is smaller than I imagined. The venue sort of speaks for itself, but here are a few of my observations Venue — it’s better to go on a sunny day than a cloudy day so you have see the sparkles better — larger parties seem to get window tables easier than smaller ones — come earlier than later as certain food items are limited — dress up a bit, although there were a few people in denim(not recommended) Food — good mix of American and Asian influenced dishes — the truffled risotto was disappointing — don’t underestimate the salads — jicama hazelnut salad is great — order your chocolate soufflé earlier than later, as they run out of that one Overall I really enjoyed my experience and would consider coming back, but you need to be very hungry to fully enjoy and taste everything.

I have gone for both Sunday brunch and Monday night dinner, both are pretty spectacular. Sunday brunch is of course, a super nice experience. The buffet has everything you could think of, and there are so many cuisines. Really lively atmosphere and everyone dressed in their Sunday best. However, if you had to chose one, go for the Monday night dinner and book a time where you can watch the sunset. It is a truly unique experience of dinner and a show. The room is beautiful, recently renovated about a year ago… and when the sun sets it is even more stunning. Professional dancers accompany the live jazz band on the iconic spinning dance floor; you’re welcome to join in(me and my date were perfectly content just watching). The food itself is worth the high price tag, starting with those warm salmon and crème fraîche cream puffs that I still crave. Highly recommend the baked alaska and apple tarte tartin for dessert.

The experience was rather underwhelming even though it was something I had been looking forward to for weeks. I liken it to eating buffet at a upscale Las Vegas hotel, not a big deal. The room was pretty nicely done and renovated but in an understated way, after awhile, you tended not to notice it much. The center of the room where the buffet was set out is probably the nicest part, but like I said — understated. Most of the food was decent, a few dishes I enjoyed more than others, but overall everything was ok. Since Rainbow Room offered a variety of cuisines, Thai(green curry), Indonesian(beef rendang), dim sum(pork buns, ha gow), cured hams(3 year old Iberica), American breakfast foods(bagels, french toast, sugar cinnamon roll, bacon), sushi(salmon, California roll)…nothing was especially good, it veered towards run-of-the mill. I enjoyed the Amish fried chicken, and sauteed brussel sprouts the most. The view of the outside is nice, but since it was daytime, and the room is not conducive to people walking around looking at different views, the empire state building or one of those higher observatories is still better. The jazz music was a softer and more subtle note to the buffet, the musicians were kept kind of out of the way, at narrow space in front and up near the ceiling. Overall, I satisfied my curiosity by coming here, but for a price of more than a hundred per person, it’s not really worth it to come again.(Btw, orange juice here is $ 8 a glass, though tea and coffee are complimentary.) Another note, the wait staff did try very hard to be accommodating and attentive, though the hostesses seemed a bit cold.

I visited the Rainbow Room on Sunday for my birthday. I was really impressed. The service was very good and personal(after 2 hours when I left the host referred to me by name to check I enjoyed my meal). The atmosphere is great and it was such a sunny day so it was lovely to look out of the window at the view. The restaurant felt like a very luxurious experience. I thought the food was great, so much on offer to choose from and I felt like they had thought of everything. I think my favorite was the roast station, the lamb was amazing and the Yorkshire puddings and selection of vegetables. I also loved the pastries and desserts. There was so much choice I had about 3 plates of dessert. They had ice cream and toppings and a chef making crepes! The only station I was unsure of was the eggs station, it was a bit unclear on how it worked and what eggs you could get and it was never manned by a server when I passed to be able to ask. The entertainment was good as some background noise. You would miss it if nobody was singing and playing, it added to the whole atmosphere. I had read reviews about people not being given more cutlery, we did not experience this at all and it was constantly replenished. The only negative aspect was that when I made the booking I was asked if it was a special occasion and I advised it was my birthday & my husband also advised this when confirming the booking a few days before we went. I saw about 6 people with small ‘birthday cakes’ dessert with a candle, including the table next to us. Disappointingly I was not given a cake and candle! And I wasn’t going to ask for one, but it would have been nice if they ask if it is a special occasion that they then acknowledge it! Also, another point we were unsure of whether to tip the obliged 20%, as at a restaurant, as it is a buffet and you are serving yourself! As $ 40 tip on the basic fixed cost without drinks seems a lot when you are doing all the work yourself!

Y de repente alguien gritó: «It’s snowing, it’s snowing! We’re going to have a white Christmas!!!» y desde los grandes ventanales se veía como por el fuerte viento en vez de caer la nieve desde el cielo subían copos grandes hacia arriba… ¡Inolvidable!

Dresscode: Smoking/Anzug bzw. Cocktail-/Abendgarderobe.
