Decent food, but extremely overpriced. Service was great and fast for a quick lunch. Definitely would recommend for a dinner over a lunch.

I’m updating my review because I had a really nice lunch here today. After my last bad experience the manager welcomed me back to give P&P another try. I came on a Monday with a friend and we were sat in big comfy chairs. Based on the managers recommendations we got the grilled salmon and roasted chicken. Both were pretty decent. My chicken was quite nice, I had the mushroom, pablano sauce on the side and I’m glad I did because I only used a very little bit of it. My friend’s salmon was also nice. She would have preferred it a little less done but fish on a Monday is always sketchy so probably a good thing it was well cooked. The restaurant was much less busy then the last time when they were absolutely packed so the service was much much better. The staff was friendly and attentive the entire meal. We actually had a really good experience this time around which is why I’m updating my review. I guess the last time was just a fluke probably cause by it being so busy.

A couple coworkers and I were looking for a place to grab a quick lunch in the area so we went in. It’s location may not be obvious because it’s inside a fancy looking building. The place itself reminded me a Vegas casino in their heyday. *Not a bad thing, just different and kind of refreshing. They have a decent selection of beers and wine. In terms of menu, I was unimpressed. I know that it’s a pub but it didn’t really seem streamline in the offerings. The food was alright, it did the trick. I don’t necessarily think this is a place I would frequent. Great staff, but not my thing.

Pound and Pence feels like it should be on the set of Wolf of Wall Street. It is in the cut in 55 Liberty, not quite your standard appearance of a restaurant. It is dimly lit and embodies the pub atmosphere. The food is average, with not much flavor but edible. The guinness shrimp had too much batter however the shrimp itself was seasoned well enough. There are several beers on tap and you typically can’t go wrong with a drink to help you take the edge off. Good location for groups or a quiet meet-up with a friend.

Pound and Pence is a good middle of the road option for lunch in lower Manhattan. The selection is a good mix of unhealthy and mildly healthy options. But, I think the most important quality of a sit-down lunch option is speed of service and the few times that I have gone I have been in and out within 1 hour. I really liked the buffalo chicken wrap and the grilled salmon entrée. I did not enjoy the beer battered shrimp at all though — too much batter. I would recommend making reservations though since sometimes it can get very, very busy.

Another very good spot down in the financial district. I love the dark ambiance and the bar has a nice selection. Haven’t eaten here in a while so I will update the review after my next meal, but it’s a great spot for post-work drinks!

Stopped by after work on a Wednesday for happy hour with a friend. The restaurant is much larger than I expected so it’s definitely a great place to bring a group. Ladies get two for one drinks on Wednesday, and my friend and I were excited to have an excuse to have an extra glass of wine :) I had two glasses of Pinot Grigio for only $ 10 so it was a great deal. We ordered the potato skins, vegetable samosas, and chicken wings to share– definitely all solid bar food. I liked that they offered samosas since it’s a little different than your standard bar fare. Overall, great, affordable place to check out in FiDi!

This restaurant has great décor and atmosphere. We had good service and the food was fine however our bill was high vs. what you get. I will go back. Cheers.

First the good news. This is a handsome place — especially upstairs. With the pool table and ridiculously comfortable chairs you’re practically dining in a friend’s cozy den. Downstairs can be a bit congested — especially by the bar which fills up after work. The food however can be average to below par. Yesterday’s lunch included the Grilled Vegetable Sandwich with mixed greens on ciabatta bread. The bread was dry and overcompensated the vegetables and goat cheese. Also ordered the«Lunch Combo» which included soup, half sandwich and soda. Tuna with wasabi mayo was the choice. Sandwich — while heavy on the cucumber — was very light on the tuna. Service was rather distant toward meals end as it took quite a while to receive and then pay for the bill.

Good upscale pub food for lunch. It does this well. Good service too. I usually get the Pound and Pence burger(without bun) and sub the fries for the julienned vegetables. It’s a delicious lunch, and if you are off-the-clock, pair it with a Brownslane cider for a high protein, gluten free meal. I’m a celiac, have been here over a dozen times, and never got sick from the above. the upstairs has some fun old-school ambience, with big leather chairs near a fireplace.

Great place to go and eat for a dinner meeting or a casual lunch outing. I used to work in the area and this place was certainly my go to for lunch. Their food is delicious and timely and the ambiance is terrific. I advise wholeheartedly to take a stroll in this undercover gem in wall street. You won’t be disappointed.

Pound and Pence is not an obvious place to go but it is definitely worth it. The atmosphere is unique with different rooms that have different vibes. I believe there are tvs, but they are small.

Food /Service: Good all-around. They have a good beer selection. I had the Crimini Mushroom Quesadilla and I can’t speak to the full menu, but it was very good. I may have fell in love with the woman I was with so this review may be biased. She was absolutely stunning, incredibly sweet, and I think she really stole my heart. But… the food was really good too so I imagine the rest of the menu is just as good. Atmosphere: I really like the vibe here. It’s in the financial district and has this dark, oaky feel that makes it a fun place for conversation. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were fun to talk too, and then moved to a table and the waitstaff was very nice. Just really enjoy this place. Utilities: didn’t see a plugin big the bartender will charge your phone.

Not sure if everyone I was eating dinner with ordered the wrong items on the menu or if I’m too critical. It’s probably a combination of both. I came here on a Monday evening with two friends. The place was practically empty. The upstairs section feels like a strip club… velvet chairs, carpets, the works. The service was fine, with the exception of the waitress messing up one of my friend’s orders. I asked for buffalo wing sauce on the side of my chicken dish, and he ordered the curry salad. Somehow, they showed up with buffalo wings for him. When we told them their mistake, they grabbed the wings and left to go prepare his salad. What were they going to do with the wings? Reserve them for the next people who order wings? Why couldn’t they have just left them there? My meal(chicken breast and«garlic» mashed potatoes”) was bad. Just plain bad. Seasoning was off, mashed potatoes were flavorless and cold. My friend’s salad was«weird» as he kindly put it. My other friend ordered a burger(is it possible to mess up a burger?) and it looked fine to me, although I didn’t try it myself. I wouldn’t come back here for food, but I would possibly pop my head in for a drink if I was in the area(there really aren’t many options over here).

Verryyyy beautiful décor. Drinks– strong and great. There’s happy hour and buy 1 get 1 for ladies on certain days, which is always a good thing;) The bartender’s are friendly and very socially adept– always making sure everyone, even solo sitters, are having a good time. Upstairs you will find Victorian style furniture with dim lighting surrounding a pool table. This place is very romantic!

Fond memories of this place. When I lived in NYC, my office was just around the corner from the restaurant. We spent a fair share of happy hours here. One of the most repeated stories between my friends and I includes an experience at P&P. On a recent trip, I took a colleague there for lunch and he really liked it. I got the lunch special — French Onion soup and half a grilled steak sandwiches with a side of fries. Food was as I expected it to be — which is to say it was good, but not spectacular. I was more than happy with the meal overall, but did feel the fries were old. They definitely had been sitting out for a while or were fried in old oil. Service was very friendly and quick. Just as lunch service should be. Great place, great vibe and would definitely come back!

Nice bar /pub in the financial district. Multiple sections so that different groups can be seated separately. Seemed very quiet on a Wednesday night, but I guess that is to be expected. I had my standard black russian which was made well. We also got some appetizers(calimari, wings, jalapeño poppers, etc.) All were good. Service was good. Friendly but not too intrusive.

This is one of the favorites for people who work in Fidi and also one of the cooler bars in the area. It’s great for large groups as it’s fairly big and there’s an upstairs section that can be reserved. The upstairs sections has a pool table as well as a separate seating section that’s great for conversation over a few drinks. Drink selection overall isn’t the best, but the food certainly makes up for it. Their bar menu is pretty basic but the food itself is delicious. Their fries are likely some of the best bar fries I’ve ever had. Not sure why they’re so good, but the feeling was mutual amongst several people who had them. The calamari and wings are pretty delicious as well. The downstairs section of the bar is decent size with a private room to be reserved as well. Again the main thing I would change here is the liquor selection. Specifically the rum. Overall vibe is pretty energetic and Wall Street. Always a great place to grab a drink with a few friends or a large group. Guaranteed to be a good time with very good bar food.

Very Wall Street-like, located in the heart of it. Bartender was super friendly but drinks were sbubpar. The Dark & Stormy was pretty watered down to ginger ale. Their cranberry vodka literally tasted like rubbing alcohol tossed in juice– fairly strong, but also really gross. Not to mention, it was also pretty expensive. They had little Wasabi peas to chew on, but nobody really took them. Who knew how long they were out there? As for the atmosphere — this is very popular among the Wall Street crowd. Going in, it is mostly middle-aged Caucasian males, not really for the younger folks. Not that it made me feel awkward, but I’m just saying, this is the targeted demographic. I had their fries — shaped like cute little poker chips/pickles. They were pretty yummy too, much relief from the drinks. Someone close by also ordered a burger– which looked absolutely delicious, plus those little poker chip fries again! I’m also a sucker for wall décor and this place has it down. It really gives you the old English feel with its Scottish plaid, vintage font, and ladies with their bonnets and dresses on the wall. It is dimly lit, except by the bar. Plus, the upstairs area is huge– seeing the fireplace that is mentioned in the reviews prior to mine. Their bathrooms also super clean and neat, but upstairs… Wouldn’t it make sense to have two bathrooms– one downstairs and one upstairs? So, maybe I will give this place another chance… Probably with food and the upstairs sitting area.
