Shepherd’s Pie is delicious. My girlfriend had the fish and chips. Huge portion for a great price. Nice to go to an Irish bar/restaurant and the staff are actually Irish. A friendly bunch

We absolutely loved this place! Phil served us and absolutely rocked. Super friendly and pours a great Guinness. Def a dude I’d get a pint with. Awesome atmosphere(cozy with great history) and has the game on so you don’t miss match. Oh and the owner even stopped to chat with us. Seriously friendliest place ever.

Jim Brady’s screams Irish from the moment you step into the quaint parlor-like establishment, with the country’s flags everywhere and clientele with charming accents. I’m aiming for more of a 3.5 star rating here, based on what I found to be a limited menu and an okay price range. I had the sausage and mash with onion, which was quite good. The coffee is freshly brewed and flavorful as well. However, my boyfriend’s chicken pot pie was just okay, which led me to doubt the robustness of the rest of the menu. The ambiance also just wasn’t for me, but can serve as a great haunt for someone missing their home country.

I always walk past Jim’s but only recently had the chance to try it. The atmosphere is nice and warm, fitting for an Irish pub. I ordered the chicken pot pie while my girlfriend opted for the sausage and mash. The pot pie wasn’t bad, but I think I would have preferred more of the pastry – it was more like chicken and peas cooked in a cream sauce with a piece of pastry on top rather than a pie. The chicken was a bit dry and the dish could have used more vegetables. The sausage and mash was good, but it’s also one of my favorite British dishes. The onions were nicely caramelized and the sausage was flavorful. The dish didn’t have enough gravy for the potatoes, however. Our waitress was friendly and service was prompt. All in all, not a bad environment to watch a game, but the food isn’t anything to rave about.

Great service. I have passed by this place for over a year and never stopped in to eat. I was very happy with the outcome when I finally did. Great décor, great location, and amazing food! Large enough for larger parties.

Avoid this place at all costs. I received a call yesterday from a friend who ate here. For some reason his debit card transaction was not approved. The bill was $ 23 and there was $ 28 on the card. The manager said I needed to send my friend money so he could pay the bill. I sent additional funds and the bill was paid. The $ 23 tab was run for $ 36. Clearly there is a greedy waitress who feels she earned a 50% tip. Be careful here.

My mum had visited Jim Brady’s on a previous visit to NYC& raved about it so she was keen to return. We went for lunch on a week day. We were seated quickly, the staff were friendly and food came out really fast. I had a burger with sweet potato fries and my mum had the fried chicken. My fries were a little undercooked, it tasted like raw potato, they were hard, so unfortunately I left the majority of them, but the burger was tasty. My mum enjoyed her meal but found the chicken was dry and a little tough to cut. I didn’t expect gourmet food, so it’s fine, but I would probably stick to this venue for after work drinks in the future.

Standard Irish bar in FiDi but with a more down-to-earth and quieter vibe. Stopped by for after-work drinks with a friend before heading to an event nearby. The(minimal) crowd was in their 30s and seemed to be gathered in their own small cliques. Each beer was about 7 bucks. Seems like a good place to host small friends gatherings on weeknights.

DONOTGOHERE! We decided upon Jim Brady’s on a Sunday evening because we live across the street. this was the WORST bar experience I’ve had in the Fidi. We were told we were«too loud for the people eating dinner» which was ONE person! After ordering ONE beer… the bartender told us to be quiet because we were TOO loud for the people eating dinner. Which at this point was THREEPEOPLE!!! We left immediately! This place SUCKS, and treat their locals like CRAP! NEVERCOMEHERE!!! P. S. This was the second time we came here in THREE years!

Great staff! Walked in not sure if we were going to stay. But the warm greeting and recommendation(the burgers are not good… they’re excellent! Said the manager), I’m glad we gave it a chance. Friendly bartenders and amazing drinks!

The staff couldn’t be nicer. Great place to hang and have a couple. An enormous TV for all the games. Décor is dated and lighting is too bright. They know their way around a hamburger, but other than that I find the food to be bad. Even the wings are meh. If they ever did a makeover on this place — serious upgrade to the food, renovated the interior — they’d kill it.

Ran in out of the cold into a warm, welcoming crowd. The service was wonderful, the food was pretty darn good pub fair. Lots of bar space and good for big parties. If you’re wandering around the financial district looking for a bite, this is a great spot to land.

I walked in here in jeans, a jacket, and a beanie during lunch time on a week day. Boy, did I feel out of place hanging out with half of Wall Street. I feel for those bar tenders and servers, all of the clientele seemed so picky about everything! It was an interesting experience nonetheless, glad I came in and grabbed a snack. The staff was nice and the prices weren’t too bad. I would probably come back for a drink if I’m in the area.

Not what I was expecting for an Irish pub. The menu didn’t follow the traditional Irish fare and the atmosphere was interesting. The décor suggested that the restaurant was upscale but without anyone at the door to greet and seat guests — just the bartender behind the bar yelling to take a seat anywhere we liked. Our party ordered fish and chips, a burger, and a caesar with salmon. All food was average, nothing to rave about but nothing poor either. Doubt that we would go back for a meal again, however the bar looked fun.

I hosted a happy hour at Jim Brady’s, and was completely impressed with them from start to finish. Paul and Derek were an absolute pleasure to work with — accommodating, flexible, and kind — the décor is great, music is good, drinks are reasonable, and food was delicious. We had waitress service for drinks and the two waitresses were attentive and pleasant. I will definitely be back and would definitely recommend for drinks as well as food!

We ate at Jim Brady s last night: chicken shepherds pie and flounder with curry topping. I was a bit sceptical about that latter combination, but it proved to be excellent. My wife’s dish was also one of the best she’s had of that kind. The ambience of the place was pleasant. Not a typical Irish bar, but a very nice dining room with a bar off to the side. Good selection of beers. Would eat there again.

This place is very interesting, has an upscale-diner-in-the-90’s feel yea that doesn’t make much sense but try to picture it. Friend got Shepards pie, it was the first time i had a bite of that so I cant say much besides that this one’s potatoes were nice a fluffy and the ground beef tasted like regular ground beef. Not bad but the dish in general is probably not my thing. I ordered some unhealthy chicken wrap w waffle fries(btw these were the highlight of the evening, some of the best waffle fries iv ever had, perfectly salted and excellent texture). The chicken wrap was actually decent, full of bacon, actually a little too much bacon, and the sauce was a bit overpowering at times but overall an alright meal. I would not pay $ 20(incl tax tip) for it again though.

I’m giving a 5-star review 100% because of Phil, the possibly maldovan or irish Saturday bartender. He is a lovely little treasure who asks your name and the gender of unborn children of women he hasn’t met. He taps beer, brings snacks and wears a tie. In his spare time he watches documentaries and loves NY. We rushed into this pub seeking shelter from the rain and now I’m thinking of returning to NYC just to drink in the financial district on a Saturday afternoon. Pity Unilocal isn’t a dating site. ..

There’s nothing overtly wrong with this place, but there’s nothing good to say, either. The menu is limited and the choices are standard and uninspired. The prices are high, especially considering how commonplace the food is. The atmosphere is as cold and boring as it gets. I have no idea, considering the wealth of options in the area, why anyone would chose to come here! This is a boring, cookie-cutter restaurant that I would expect to find in an airport or strip mall.

I came here for lunch with some coworkers. I ordered the Club Turkey sandwich with waffle fries.(Normally this comes with a side of steak fries). I found no fault with the sandwich. The bacon and lettuce were crispy and the bread was lightly toasted. I liked that they put the mayo on the side, so you can control how much to put on the sandwich. The portion of waffle fries were generous. I was full after eating the sandwich and half the fries. It’s a nice pub with decent pub food.
