I love this place!!! I celebrated my birthday on 1÷29÷16. Tim, the manager made sure my tables were ready and my guests had a blast as we did karaōke, drink and danced the night away

Fun, somewhat rowdy Karaōke crowd taking over the planet from this bar. Regulars, tourists and business people getting housed together and doing it brilliantly with a good vibe. Great service, bartenders attentive and friendly. The shots and beers attacked the liver and punished the revelers the next morning I am sure.

Perfect if you like to be treated rudely and badly by Management!!! Quick summary: — The bar is nice but underground and smelly — Management is by far the worse i have ever seen — The games(darts, boxer, shooting etc…)are broken or bad quality — Price on website not accurate(lower than reality) Will never go back and neither none of my colleagues Full horror story: We called to book for an office party and it s only after the 4th attempt that they took my reservation. before that they were too busy to even take my phone number . I finally managed to book the game room which is the reason why i picked this place for my manager leaving drinks. Unfortunately they then gave the room to someone else on Thursday(after confirming we have it on Monday). Money seens to be more important for those folks than customers… So we agreed with them that we will come at 4pm rather than 5pm to play a few games before their big other private party… When we arrive there. they had us book at 7pm. :(not great but the place was empty…) We went to the game room until 5pm as agreed… At 5pm on the dot. the Manager stormed in and kicked us out insinuiting that we were trying to take advantage when we just lost track of the time being in an office party. and also it was 5pm on the dot. Anyhow… they then wanted to put is on a to a tiny table while we are 20 and the pub was empty… after another arguments with them, we got a better area. by that time. we have spent 45min out of the 1h there arguing with Management. which is always a great start We ordered drinks and food which was more expensive than on the website. i told them they should update their website to avoid misleading customers. and they told me i have been to an old webiste. which is untrue. anyhow… After all this, they have not done anything to make our night memorable. no kind words to make us forgive their behaviours. Their ping ping rackets are broken. so are their darts and the boxer and shouting game does not work properly… btw. you need to pay for all of them Bottom line NEVERAGAIN!!!

This place is a great hangout spot for a long day of work. It’s located underground and has food, karaōke, and pool. The pricing for alcohol is decent and the bar tenders are nice. The fries are crispy but mash potato-ey. The gravy also goes great with the fries.

It is probably intended as a drinking establishment primarily, but we went for an early dinner and the food was just OK. They had a lot of good looking warm holiday drinks on the menu, but they were all out if everything but hot chocolate. For me, I wouldn’t go back for dinner.

Whoa … Blast from the past. I used to go there with my previous co-workers back in 2007 – 2008. The place was called John Street Bar and I believe it closed at some point. JSB had great fries & cheap pitchers of beer. Not sure if the ownership changed but the layout hasn’t changed much. I went there with co-workers today for lunch and ordered Irish Mist Chicken. The food was delicious — came with mashed squash(I think) & mashed potatoes, &2 thin slices ofchicken breasts, not too big if you are hungry, but everything on the plate is loaded with cream & butter. This restaurant is in the basement and is dark and dingy. It does have pool tables and probably darts(at least JSB used too). It’s an Irish bar. They are all blah.

Food /Service: Food is pretty standard but well prepared. Beer selection is not bad. It’s not a craft beer bar but they have a big enough selection that you’ll find done thing you like. Service was OK, a bit slow but friendly enough. I’d like to come back and try the Fish and Chips. I had the burger and it was good. Atmosphere: I really like the bar downstairs. Music in background but not so loud you can’t talk. Decent size and a nice cozy feel. Utilities: there is a table at the very front of bar that has a plugin.

The Irish American is an OK bar in the Financial District. After work is packed with workers drinking beers, and getting bites. The entrance on John Street is small. You have to walk down a set of stairs to actually access the bar… Like in the old times of the Prohibition era. The space is pretty big(you won’t risk to do not seat,) with different kind of seating areas: bar stools, booths, etc. It’s pretty loud, with TV on sports channels. A good selection of beers, burgers and such. Nothing crazy or particularly tasty. The usual sport bar. Good crowd thou. And service is surprisingly pretty fast.

The ONLY reason I have been to this place more than once is that there is always a table available, the place is huge(and the only reason it is getting 2 stars). I am almost positive the vodka was watered down, food is at best mediocre and the service is unfriendly, borderline rude.

One of the first bars I started frequenting upon my move to NYC. The Financial District does not have a reputation for its night life, but I still favor this basement bar because of its low-key factor in comparison to other bars in the area. I’m sad because one of my favorite bartenders recently left, but kudos to management for bringing in some really cool new people! I also love running into Tim(manager/bartender) and Adrienne(bartender). They have been serving me since I started coming here, and are awesome! Everyone who works here is pretty cool and that’s a huge part of why I continue to come in. I always feel welcome. The other reasons I like this place? The French Dip sandwich. O… m…g! I’ve seen reviews complaining about the food. Here’s the thing: you have to order the right item. The Jameson infused wings, the nachos, and the Chieftan sandwich are also safe bets! The bouncers here are friendly, so unlike certain other places, I don’t feel turned off to the place as soon as I approach it. Affordable drinks and food. Clean, chill atmosphere with a juke box and dim lighting. It gets a bit crowded later in the week, but chances are you’ll still consider it to be a relaxed environment. Check out their game room and karaōke as well. Not my things, but I’ve heard only good things from fellow patrons.

Any emotion you feel this is the best place in the financial district to be. I was pretty sad today but me and my friends came out to drink and had some karaōke and it just became the best night ever. I sang some Nysnc and everyone else sang Michael Jackson and U2… Over all after work drink this is one of the best places in the financial district to be.

Always a good meeting spot for a nice cold beer with work friends… you walk in and go down stairs… you loose all concept of time and where you are… we sometimes order a couple of appetizers. …they are always good as well as the service…

Great service at the bar! Crowd is really chill. After work happy hour seekers mixed with tourists. The pork salad is amazing! I would come back especially for happy hour.

It’s a cold day in NYC today and I find myself wondering around the WTC so I decided to get a drink and some food. Walked downstairs into what turned out to be a very large bar with two sides to its, seeing as it was full I sat on the back side. There are plenty of places to sit, and plenty of tvs to watch sport. The bartender came to be very quickly and I had a very tasty beer. I decided to order one of my favorite meals in the world, bangers and mash! Oh so British and oh so filling! It still amazes me how difficult it is here for me to find pork sausages in supermarkets! Anyways, the food came quickly and was absolutely delicious! The best part was that the offered me more gravy on the house! So happy, full and content! Great place! Will be back! Ian

On the day of the NYC Half, our group, like many other, wanted a greasy meal and a good beer, so we reserved a table for 12 at this pub. Though it doesn’t look like much at first, once you enter the basement, you’ll see that it can easily fit 200 people with no problem. Unfortunately on the day we came, the staff wasn’t prepared for such a large crowd. This wasn’t their fault, this area is not well known for weekend crowds. In fact, most restaurants in this area are closed on the weekends, because nobody come here to eat or see sights. In any case, our big group came and ordered wings, beers, burgers, mac n cheese, and more beers. Like I said, the staff was not prepared for such a large group throughout the afternoon so they were obviously overwhelmed. The staff was not very attentive and the food was just ok, except for the wings. We started with the Jameson infused chipotle wings, and it was a good thing we did. The wings were very tasty, very moist, and just hit the spot for those who just ran around Manhattan. Sadly, that’s where it ended. The food that came after was just bad. The Mac and Cheese was huge but flavorless. The cheese didn’t taste baked in with the mac, more like it was thrown together in the plate instead of being baked together. The macaroni was plain as if you just boiled it and ate it out of the pot. Overall, not a good food item. The CAJUNBURGER was nothing more than a dry patty sprinkled with old bay seasoning on top, that’s it. The other burgers were also dry, but definitely not small. All their food portions are huge, so you should come hungry and expect to be filled. You might not always be satisfied, but you will be full. I’m going to give them the benefit of a doubt that the pub was unprepared for that kind of action on a Sunday without football. Maybe next time we go, the service and food will be better.

Festive, loud and clean Pub where you can have a few drinks and laughs after work with friends. Spacious bar area where waitress bartenders can be loud and aggressive but in a friendly way — just don’t upset them. Food(sliders, wings, etc.) are what you would expect at this type of establishment — nothing more /nothing less. Sporting events are shown on standard size televisions — perhaps upgrades are needed.

Went in search of ice cream on a hot day… ended up here with an Irish ice cream ;) This place has it all in an air conditioned bar a few feet underground, perfect to fight off the hot weather. With a full bar, multiple pool tables, darts, small arcade games, even a ping pong table; you could sit down with a beer and end up here for hours. The food was typical bar-fare; nothing crazy but the atmosphere sat well in my heart and the various activities to keep a drinker drinking played well on my youthful soul. Wander in here for a few drinks if you’re in the area and you will enjoy the evening of booze and glory as you whomp on your pals in a butting game of ping pong as you gulp a Guinness.
