This was my first trip to New York, and Piacere was the most memorable place I had dinner at. The Diavola and San Daniele pizzas were amazing, and the attention from the crew was awesome. Next time I’m NYC I’ll definitely go back.

I ordered the pesto Gnocchi because it’s one of the 3 freshly made pasta there and I always love pesto. But my dish was not as good as the pesto pasta I had earlier. I think it’s because the pesto goes better with curly noodles that can hold more sauce each bite, instead of Gnocchi. Overall, it was a good experience!

What a lovely place, it’s very chill and relaxed, I was in nyc for more than a week and I was mostly eating pizza all the time, well this could be the best one I’ve had there! It’s very fresh and tasty, I would actually recommend you not sharing one because you will end up ordering more like we did. A+

My boyfriend and I were looking for an Italian place late on a Sunday night. We like to look at pictures on Unilocal to get a feel of the ambience, and initially passed Piacere up thinking it would be too casual, wanting a romantic dinner. When our first choice turned out to be closed, we decided to give Piacere a try. Best choice ever. «Eddie Spaghetti» treated us like royalty, and the ambience was perfect. Furthermore, we had been skeptical because we wanted pasta and Piacere is listed as a pizza place, but we both ordered pastas and it was deeeelicious. We will be back ASAP!

I am going to give this place 3 stars, although I do plan on trying them out again to see if they can push my vote up to a 4=) Pros: Ambiance is wonderful for groups or date night. Between the dim lighting, rustic picnic style seating, and the bustling of the fire crackling from the brick oven can make any cold evening enjoyable. The Burrata with speck over arugula was delicious! Cons: While the pizza was thin crusted and cooked to perfection, the crust was way too salty. We had ordered the spicy sausage with mushroom, which I would recommend if you like some salty/spicy pizazzzz to your pizza. The pesto gnocchi was terrible and I think the reason being was that it was under cooked giving it a doughy flavor.

Ambiance très chaleureuse, les pizzas sont cuites au feu de bois et les serveurs parlent italien entre eux, on est effectivement dans un restaurant Italien ! Le restaurant n’est pas au cœur de Little Italy et les prix sont corrects pour NYC.

We came to NYC for vacation during Christmas time, and we were told to make sure try Italian foods in little Italy. We read the reviews and saw that many places are tourist traps. So we decided to give this restaurant a try. I gave a 3 stars because the services was not that great. We had to share the table with others. And the waiter was not too attentive. We had linguine with clams and margarita pizza. We thought it was over priced. And they do not take Visa cards. The waiter said American Express or cash only!!! What kind the restaurant does not take visa nor MasterCard? We thought we were discriminated since we were Asians. Apparently hey were doing the same to another Italian family! Food taste 8.5 out of 10. We had to go Mango Mango in Chinatown afterwards since the portion was not big at all!

Delizioso! Nothing but the best things to say about this place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The décor is cozy and intimate. And the chow is amazing. The crostini is something you will dream about for many moons to come. Pizza is excellent and the pasta was homemade. The arugula salad with a thin slice, transparent slice, of pear was one of the best salads I’ve ever had. The service was super friendly and helpful. They gave us a piece of the tiramisu because like I said, they are super friendly and it was the best tiramisu ever! If you like a mild tiramisu made perfectly this is it. I don’t gush often but this place nails it. Thank you for an excellent evening in Little Italy.

Last meal in the City was a great one for the Chicago girls. Pizza Diablo, Linguine and Clams, Scallops, Grilled octopus, They loved it all. This is the Italian place to go in Little Italy. Thank you for Piacere, for resurrecting the New York trip dining experience.

The best Italian food outside Italy, really. Honestly, the food taste like in Italy, in well known areas of the country. Do no hesitate to have a lunch or dinner there, and try their pastas with truffles/tartufo or any other dish. It is full of flavor, tasteful like in Italy. When we will be back in New York, we will dine here again.

Such a quaint little Italian restaurant a little off the beaten path of the hustle of Little Italy. Much better than the restaurants on the main road! Loved the pizza so fresh and the crust was amazing. What was even better was the spicy olive oil! That was one of the best things I have ever tasted– ingenious! Only problem was it was cash only or American Express so come prepared — other than that the experience was top notch!

They have an ATM inside the bathroom haha(but still accept credit cards). Piacere is a solid pizza restaurant with lovely rustic interior. The restaurant is spacious but retains that warm cozy feeling. Perfect for a chilly night out in the Lower East Side. P. S. Love their tiramisu!

Reminds me of the pizza I used to get in Lido de Jesolo! When I did my study abroad, there was a small family owned kitchen I studied in every night for months. This place has the same authentic feel. The service is impeccable and the pizza w/chili oil is highly recommended! One of the hidden gems we have found! I suggest you try it as well! 5STARS

Nice little Italian restaurant that are all«homemade». I love the atmosphere here because it’s casual and it doesn’t feel like I am going to get rushed out. Good for some large parties birthday dinner. Starting of with their bread. Their olive bread and some other bread(I think is sourdough) is thick and flavorful! I don’t even need olive with that. Just wished that is a little warmer. My friend and I started of with the pear and arugula salad. The arugula is fresher and it was perfectly mixed with thin sliced pear and cheese. Enjoyed it with some cracked pepper! We both shared the stuffed pizza with prosciutto and the pappardelle with boar and mushroom pasta. The stuffed pizza tastes like panini to me instead of pizza but it tasted really good. I guess I expected pizza to be a lot cheesier but I still enjoyed it a lot. cPasta was delicious bUt wasn’t my favorite. I guess they are more famous with their pizza, it’s thin sliced pizza and oh I love the crust! They ran out of the chocolate soufflé dessert! :(the final piece was sold to the couple next to our table! I can only smell it! Boo! Tip: 3 people can easily share 2 pizzas! It’s huge! However, it’s too little for 2 person to share 1 pizza if you get what I mean! :) I am glad we found this place!

The casual cozy wood filled interior of Piacere fits nicely with the rustic Italian food it puts out. You have the pasta and pizza choices for everyone. We stumbled on to this looking for a late lunch spot on a Sunday. It wasn’t so crowded so got a table without a wait outside. We decided with the Napoletana Pizza and who can’t resist Polpo & patate to start? The octopus was super tender and the mix with potatoes was very nice. I like the pizza also. Nice warm but slight chewy crust. You can’t really get pizza wrong but you can certainly make pizza outstanding. While the pizza wasn’t cheap but compared to other boutique pizzaria opening up in the city it is slightly more. But I feel the high prices is slightly made up in flavor and service.

I came here for a birthday dinner on a Friday at 7:30pm with 7 people, and was not at all disappointed. This place isn’t large, but it has long tables and isn’t expensive(about $ 25 each), so it’s great for groups. I would recommend a reservation because it gets very crowded. They will not let you sit until the whole party is there. They set the scene with some jazz-like music playing and a big stone oven in the back to cook the pizza. The kitchen is open in the back of the restaurant, so you can see them making food. I would highly recommend the taglierini pasta with porcini mushrooms and truffles. It could not have been better. Taglierini is similar to spaghetti, but thinner and honestly better. While I didn’t eat the pizzas, they looked very good — thin crust, so one person can eat a whole pizza. They also have this delicious mildly spicy olive oil that they will tell you to put on every type of food you have. For birthdays, they will play the«happy birthday song» over the speakers in the restaurant and bring you a dessert with a candle in it. There were 3 birthdays just in the time we were there, so seems pretty popular for them. We got the tiramisu dessert, which was delicious… just melts in your mouth so well.

The anomaly here is that this is a great Italian place in Little Italy. I know that sounds odd since there are likely great Chinese places in Chinatown around the corner, but my experience with Italian restaurants in Little Italy has been spotty at best through the years when I think back on meals I’ve had at old-school spots like Puglia and Umberto’s Clam House. Other than a random cannoli at Ferrara, my last meal in this neighborhood was at Pellegrino’s on Mulberry, and I distinctly recall their Spaghetti Bolognese being on the meh side and the waiter giving me small-mouth for not finishing it(review: ). I could tell Piacere would break the mold by serving a dinner at midnight that was likely the same high quality I would have received had I come around 7PM like a normal goombah. Why midnight? Well, once again, I didn’t think about eating until after I attended a Broadway show, this time«Allegiance» at the Longacre. Sure, I could have gone to Junior’s and had one of their mammoth cheesecake slices, but no, I decided to eat closer to my hotel in SoHo since I was leaving the following morning. From the prominent brick oven in the back, it was pretty clear that most people go for the pizzas, especially at that hour. On the other hand, I was feeling a bit more like a real Italian dinner, three courses even, since I had not had Italian on my trip yet. I started with the $ 14.95 Calamari all griglia con rucolo e insalata di finnochi, which is a long description for a plate of grilled squid on a bed of arugula and shaved fennel(photo: ). It was a simple dish with the large squid cut in a spiral shape an lightly marinated in olive oil. It was just delicious with the fennel in particular providing the perfect contrast in flavor and texture. I then had the $ 16.95 Orcchiette salsiccia e cime di rape e pecorino, which sounds like a violent crime but was actually the familiar lamb’s ear pasta with Italian sausage, broccoli rabe and pecorino cheese(photo: ). It was a rich but natural home-style dish my Sicilian mamma would have made for Sunday supper, that is, if I had one. I don’t, you’ve probably guessed. It was just a really well-turned dish for something that could have clogged my arteries much faster at other ristorantes. As an added bonus, I went off-menu and ordered the $ 7 Tiramisu based on the comments made in previous Unilocal reviews. I could tell this was the real thing as therer was no trace of the standard ladyfingers, just the fresh mascarpone cheese and cocoa powder that made it a much more welcoming dessert(photo: ). I believe it was the owner Marco who served me, and he was a most gracious host even at that hour. FOOD — 5 stars… a genuine find, great Italian food an be found in Little Italy now AMBIANCE — 4 stars… rustic but chic enough for hipster and uptowner alike and tourists like me SERVICE — 4.5 stars… quite attentive especially since most of the business was happening at the bar after midnight(they open until 3AM) TOTAL — 5 stars… now I need to come back and try those pizzas

While in the Bowery area, I was in search for a place with an outside patio that serves good pizza. Also had my 10 pound dog with me and was hoping for a place that would accommodate. Piacere turned out to be the perfect place for all those requirements. After a 15 minute wait, we were seated outside on the patio. They even brought out a small bowl for the dog. I then ordered a pepperoni pizza as well as a plain. All the pizzas are personal size and thin crust. Thus I plowed through each one in about five minutes. The pizzas were very good. Definitely not the most amazing ever, but very good and enjoyable. I felt the sauce/bread to be very slightly bit bland. Aside from that, it was enjoyable. The restaurant itself has an old school Italian vibe. The inside is rustic and feels more like an underground bar than a restaurant. The servers are authentic Italian and give you confidence that any dish try recommend will be a good one. I definitely want to come back here and try the pasta dishes, which are supposed to be delicious. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area.

**LEGITPIZZAANDTIRAMISUINLITTLEITALY** Came here for some late-night dining. AMBIANCE ========== Rustic and chic. Small and welcoming. Nice bar with adjacent brick oven. Felt like I was in an authentic Italian bar(but in Manhattan). FOOD ===== CALABRESEPIZZA Tomato, mozzarella, roast peppers, onions, and spicy sausage on a crunchy thin crust was probably the best pizza I’ve had since Italy. The ingredients tasted fresh and quality. Can definitely eat two of these individually-sized pizzas. Paired with a premium red wine was heaven. RATING: 5⁄5 TIRAMISU Not sure if it was on the menu, but ordered it anyway. Beautifully done and not too sweet. Authentic Italian-style. RATING: 5⁄5 Owner was super nice and we laughed and joked around together. Met new friends at the bar, too. PROTIPS ======== — Cash or AMEX only! — Free online ordering OVERALL ======== Reminds me of Italy all the way. Will be my to-go pizza joint in NYC. Next time, will try their pastas. HIGHLYRECOMMEND.
