I came here for my birthday last night, a Saturday at 9pm. It was such a good time that I am writing my first Unilocal review about it! Two other karaōke bars had been totally booked when I tried to make a reservation, but I am so glad that MK Karaōke pulled through for my birthday, because they were awesome! Cool bar, room was big enough and comfortably dimly lit. They gave us two mics so that people could sing together. The staff was super accommodating and friendly! I brought 9 friends, then 3 more who arrived late, and it was totally fine. I think this is a good number group; everyone who wanted to got to sing 2 – 3 songs. I was also really grateful that at our reservation time, not all of my friends were there yet, and it wasn’t a problem for us to wait a little longer, and pre-game at the bar before entering our room. Once we got the room, we extended our hour time by a half hour. After paying our bill we came back into the bar, and the staff gave me the coolest birthday serenade ever, with sparklers, and complimentary champagne glasses, a spin at the prize wheel, and some casino chips to play in Black Jack. I used my casino chips toward nachos for my group. They also documented the whole serenade thing and texted a photo and video to my phone, free of charge! I would definitely recommend this place for a birthday celebration! So much fun! My tips: –If you feel a little reserved about singing, then arrive earlier than your reservation, in order to drink a little, or come prepared ;-) –Bring your own candy or cake to celebrate in the room –Bring a great group of friends who don’t take it too seriously, I recommend about 10 people –If you are a regular karaōke goer, I’m not sure if you would approve of their song book organization. All of the english songs were in one section called«Pop,» listed by song title only. It was a bit difficult to find a specific song, but if you just browsed, you could find something fun to do! Be spontaneous and just have a good time, and you can’t go wrong!

Pretty standard Karoake spot above Maru. The room we were at wasn’t fancy but it wasn’t horrible either. I didn’t check to see if weekends required buying a bottle service package like Maru does, but co-workers enjoyed it here. ALso there’s a wheel of fortune type thing so you can win freebies which is a nice touch.

Love this place, especially when a certain DJ is there spinning because he does his job so well! One of the Managers is always on the floor dancing, amping people up and its great! such a great atmosphere. There is a smoke room if you need to go smoke as well. Karaōke is fun, especially with the right people. Its open late so when everything is closed in ktown and you still want to have more fun, MK is the place to go!

Best in ktown and open late. Don’t get nachos. Spin the wheel. Get platters which include a free hour.

My first time doing karaōke in NYC and was a blast. Private room is a must. Bottle service was quick. Music selection was great. Very fun place to party and get silly with friends.

MK is the place to be on a Friday night. I have the best time there. Even though on weekends you may have a little wait for the rooms, they make up for it with the awesome music and atmosphere on the main room. People are dancing and singing and having a great time all night long. Get the bottle service, it is totally worth it. All the employees are amazingly awesome and are super attentive. Every time i come is one of my favorite nights!

Should have known something was up when the button in the elevator leading to that floor wasnt working. Anywho took it to the 4th and walked a flight up. The place reeked of cigarettes and other unknown smells. The chairs were torn. The windows were absolutely disgusting. The tables were dirty. The whole place needed to be condemned. But that’s I guess thats the price for affordable right. RUNFAR… DONTGO

Décor: 3⁄5 Service: 4⁄5 Drinks: 2⁄5 We were left alone for the most part. Service appeared to be unbiased. Prices are as expected for KTown. Pizza is $ 20, Watermelon Soji $ 36, etc. The watermelon soji was quite good tasty but def not worth the high price tag.

This is your typical NRB. One thing that MK does is that when you walk in you have the option of spinning a wheel and winning a selection of prizes. This can range from free food to free hour etc. However you can’t spin the wheel if you come in with a coupon or discount. The place is pretty clean and your standard NRB.

Solid karaōke place but I think I only had fun because of who I went with. The English, Chinese and Korean song selections are decent and sound quality is good but there were lots of small things that could be improved. We ordered a bottle of grey goose that was not only marked up incredibly but my friends were also very sure it wasn’t grey goose that came in the bottle. We were 10 minutes late to our reservation(we even called to tell them beforehand) and had to wait an additional 15 minutes for another room. They first put us in a room bigger than what we needed but after an hour moved us to a medium sized room. It was pretty inconvenient as only one girl helped us move so we also had to carry things. We also lost all the songs on our playlist. The karaōke bar is on the 5th floor so if you are coming late at night, you can either wait 10 minutes for the elevator or huff and puff your way up to the 5th floor. Once you arrive, you’ll feel like you’re at a club. There was REALLY loud music, a dj spinning, full service bar, and people hanging out and dancing. Although the general area has a cool vibe, people who go to karaōke spend all their time in the rooms so I prefer karaōke places that give some leeway in reservations and give you food/drink credit as part of the package. those room prices are even similar!

We ended the first night of my friend’s bachelorette weekend at MK Karaōke. We got a private room for seven girls and sang our 90s kids hearts out to Britney, Beyonce, the Spice Girls, and the likes. The server was SOFRIENDLY and fun and even brought us free drinks, took our photo on his camera, and then gave us a complementary champagne toast as well. The service at MK Karaōke is definitely five stars! I had never done karaōke in a private room like this, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. The system was easy enough to use and the song list had a ton of options to choose from. The prices were much steeper than what I was originally imagining, but it wasn’t too bad when we divided by the seven girls. I definitely recommend a fun night belting out your favorites with friends here at MK Karaōke.

I don’t know how many times I’ve come here drunk after hours, but all i know is that this place is the last stop for me in K-town. During my most recent visit(last thursday), all I remember is a lot of jameson, singing with friends, somehow singing with the manager, and drunk friend passing out. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a good night to me lol This place is super trendy and there will always be a crowd in here no matter how many times people complain about how pricey this place is. The staff definitely makes up for the priciness of the drinks and rates here with their premium service, so I don’t really mind how expensive it is here at MK. They’re always so quick with everything, making our stay extremely comfortable.

Environment: 5⁄5 Employees: 5⁄5 Drinks: 5⁄5 Cost: 3⁄5 Accessibility: 5⁄5 Total: 23⁄25 Synopsis: Such wonderful memories here!!! Lorie’s birthday, random karaōke nights, and with friends like Henry! This place is quite elegant in appearance when you enter. Definitely on the pricier side, but at least they have games like spin the wheel or limbo. Hilarious! Definitely puts a new twist to how to do karaōke. The song selections are good as well, with a wide variety from old to new, Japanese and Korean. YES! Environment: In terms of appearance, probably the better karaōke places that is kept clean and sheik. The doors have a translucent stain followed by a appearance to be a deck of cards. There is a lot of lighting for you to enjoy and in the rooms, you may have it dark or very lit. Employees: I think this is the best part. One of the«funky» guys is always here on the weekends. Seeing him always puts a bigger smile on my face because he is ALWAYS, ALWAYS happy! Plus, it doesn’t hurt that he’s cute! In any case, the last time I came here with Henry, the guy gave us free shots along with our beers. What? CRAZY! Definitely a good time though! Drinks: We definitely go for the soju with yogurt shots. I believe there are only two flavors or you may have watermelon. Either, the drinks here are always good. Yum! Cost: Definitely on the pricier side when you come here. High-end-ish. If you want a little more luxury, then I suggest you come here. Accessibility: K-town! It is right by the train so definitely easy access. If you have time, and never been here, and love karaōke, definitely make your way here!

The small room they gave us is comfortable, the remote control is either hard to press or broken, at least with the 2 units they provided us and theres no touch screen monitor. For those who like to sing Chinese, well there are NO Chinese or Hong Kong song selections, but English, Korean and Japanese. For it’s price, if they want to charge a premium, they have to update their equipment and song selections. Though I’m not saying I would not come here it would certainly be a place I would go to as a last resort.

How come nobody from my group got to spin that prize wheel? Where was that when I was there? Now I’m upset. Just kidding. Kind of. I came here with 3 other people. We made reservations not too long before we showed up, and had to wait another 20 – 30 minutes for a room to free up. The inside is very clean, and even the small room has a good amount of space(could fit maybe 2 or 3 more people, we had 4). The songs aren’t THAT outdated. There’s an extremely extensive book of songs, ranging from very very old songs to pop songs from within the past year. I was pretty satisfied with the song selection, so that’s that. We KTV’ed for about 3 hours, got a few rounds of drinks, and the bill after tax(pre-tip) came out to be about $ 280, which is pretty expensive but hey… Saturday night in K-town? You can’t be expecting anything too cheap, especially if you’re drinking. The only thing I HATED about this place is that people kept OPENING our door. I don’t know if they worked there or if they stumbled upon the wrong room, but it threw off the vibe and was really annoying.

Outdated list of songs? Check. Poor selection of music? Check. More expensive than closer by options? Check. But they do have a giant wheel that you can spin to determine your prize, which most of the time will probably land on «next time,» so they’ve got that going for them… And the interior is trendy and hip, so they’ve got two things going for them I guess… Oh wait and free wifi. Three things…

Music selection: 6⁄10 Service: 7⁄10 Ambience: 8⁄10 Price: 7⁄10 Decent music selection and service. Individual rooms are available for a variety of group sizes. There’s usually a DJ in the outside bar area. Bonus: One person in your group gets to spin a prize wheel before entering your karaōke room — you can win free shots, beer, fruit platter, etc.

One of my go-to spots for chillin and drinkin when I’m in K-town. Pretty cool spot with a main central bar and private karaōke rooms that surround the bar. Service is Korean-style impeccable, and they often have special perks poppin up(for example, during the world cup games that Korea played in, they gave out free Jameson shots to everyone every time Korea scored!). Karaōke is standard Korean norehbang, up to date with all the new shit and they have an extensive, growing catalog of all older shit(just like all standard Korean norehbangs). Bottle specials are decently priced too, so its a great place to get hammered and sing to celebrate an occasion or just chill.

It’s casino night this month! You can gamble away for free nachos/drinks etc. We got $ 200 worth of chips from a random guy who was advertising at Pocha 32 haha. Annnnd we won a free pitcher of beer! Hollaaaa. The manager also gave us an extra $ 100 in chips to gamble some more, hehe. We also got a free drink coupon for any shot by the Pocha guy too, so it was a fun night hanging by the bar indeed! There’s a tiny dance floor no one was at, and good music blasting away. The doors to the karaōke rooms had cute playing card decorations up. I had some soco lime shots which reminded me of my younger days: P sigh!

MK Karaōke is amazing. It is nestled in the Korea Town area of the city, on the fifth floor of a building also containing the Maru nightclub/lounge. You take a tiny elevator(can only hold eight people or they yell at you) and the door opens to the blue and purple dimly lit MK – a mecca of horrible singing and much soju and sake. I highly suggest you make reservations, so you don’t have to wait. There are several private rooms in MK, each a different size based on the size of your party. There is a full bar in the waiting area where you can grab a pre-karaōke drink and is always populated by a DJ that seems to look at the crowd in the bar and make song selections accordingly. And he is GOOD. We had a bit of a wait, so we hung out there for a while. We were there for a friend’s bachelorette and were treated to a free shot and sparkler for her event. The manager/owner(?) remembered her from our years living in DC(and frequenting MK about twice a month) and was good to us while we were waiting. The song selections are always up to date with the latest and greatest, and of course include other karaōke classics like Madonna, Queen, Bön Jovi and Prince. This is my favorite karaōke place on the east coast, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
