Hugo is the king of chignons and fabulous styling.
Joann is the colourist with the magic hands.
Dragana is the best waxer ever.
Karolina fills the place with her good mood and impeccable service.
Hannah is the most attentive manager… and I could go on and on…
I can only recommend this place to anyone who wants a wonderful experience.

There are so many salons to choose from in the city that finding this place felt like extreme luck on my part. Maribel seriously gave me the BEST mani/​pedi experience I’ve ever had, so I came back the next day at her suggestion to have a facial with Courtney. I get my nails done every two weeks, so I’ve met many, many nail artists. Maribel seriously blows them all out of the water! She is so much fun! It felt like having a girlfriend do your nails except she is AMAZING at it. My cuticles are so clean and my nails are filed to the perfect ovals. Bonus: Maribel picked out the cutest combo for me — nude nails with a silver accent! Just trust her — she really is a nail professional on the TOP of her game.
Courtney is so sweet and I really enjoyed my facial with her. My face is still glowing!

Marie-​Lou & D is my favorite salon in the city. I regularly see Luisa, and don’t trust anyone with my hair like her. Luisa is extremely talented, and knows exactly what I want every time. Amazing salon in the heart of downtown with the best team ever! Jillian is the best colorist on the planet– she does my highlights and color and makes it look so incredibly natural! Johan does the best updo in town for any type of event you need to look great for– Karolina at the front desk makes you feel like a celebrity every time you walk in– best salon in NYC !

This place is amazingly amazing filled with amazing people with amazing personalities.
I booked an appointment with ease after purchasing a voucher from Gilt City for a Spa Mani/​Pedi.
My appointment was set for noon but that morning I was running behind and called at 10:30am to see if it was possible to come in at 1:00 and they kindly and easily pushed me back!
I got to my appointment and was greeted with a smile and offered a drink of watter, coffee, tea, rose, or Prosecco… I had water… followed by a glass of Prosecco duh lol.
We started right away after I was introduced to my Nail Technician, Dragana.
The room only had two pedi chairs and I was in it alone so that was nice and relaxing.
Dragana was very gentle and asked me questions about what I liked and how I liked my nails and made sure everything was to my satisfaction. She applied some type of mask cream to my legs as she worked on my toes, and while I have no clue what it did… it felt good! lol
Her massage was heavenly and I really wanted to ask her to come home with me later haha! jk! (Kind of)
After She selected color option for me based on my preferences she did a flawless paint job and then we moved on to the mani table.
My mani was just as pleasant as the pedi and she paid very close attention to detail and asked me if I wanted the square, round edges, and if I would like my cuticles clipped or pushed back. I loved that because I actually hate having them clipped and I didn’t have to tell her myself.
Upon check out I just had to pay the tax of like $ 2 but I couldn’t leave a tip on my card so I ran to get cash and they didn’t mind at all. (I’d like to think I’m pretty trustworthy)
The receptionist was awesome as we shared quick stories about living in NY (As I am new here)
Before parting ways I was offered 15% off my next appointment (which I could not book due to travel arrangements) but even without the discount I would 100% return to Marie-​Lou & D for a fantastic Mani/​Pedi.

I have 2 favorite ladies at this salon —
Maribel here always gives me amazing pedicure… Her spa pedi is sooo thorough and she is very creative. I don’t usually do manicure since I am bit «rough» on my hands… but I decided to give it a try the other day and they lasted looooooong time (regular manicure and shellack top coat). My nails still look, well, badass.
Courtney is my bikini wax aesthetician. Firstly, her personality is a gem — Brazilian wax is such a «private» thing, so her personality is as important as her skills and technique. She is quick and the wax she uses makes my skin leaves soooo soft.
This salon is super comfortable and people who are working there are very pleasant. I love to come in late and getting complimentary bubblies and chat with my ladies while getting treated… If you are looking for a salon that treats you good, this is definitely the place to go.

Had color (base, hi lights and toner) from Joseph Mullen today. Amazeballs! The blonde tones, and natural base look like I was born with this hair! I wish I had time to indulge in a facial or mani, but there is alway next time.

As a guy it’s often hard to find a place to get your nails taken care of that isn’t so girly its overwhelming. I stumbled on this place and the décor immediately attracted my attention. The wood floors and exposed brick combined with the large open space is instantly inviting. It doesn’t smell like a typical nail salon either which is especially nice. The place is clean with a nice little waiting area and the staff was so friendly I felt as if I had been a regular. I was greeted by Hannah who never stopped smiling and while my jacket was politely hung. I was introduced to Dragana. Dragana who was very nice, gentle and through. The place is very clean and comfortable including the restroom. While here I had a glass of wine and had an overall great experience that has guaranteed my return.

Love this place! I had been getting my hair colored by the same stylist for over four years and was ready for a change. I was introduced to Marie-​Lou & D through an event and could not have been more impressed! The entire staff was friendly, professional and their expertise showed in their respective fields (color, cuts, facials etc).
I opted to go for the balayage look and booked an appointment with Patrick (colorist). The appointment started on time and I was offered tea/​water/​prosecco etc. right on arrival (hello rosé, don’t mind if I do), then Patrick got right to work. He understood exactly what look I was going for and executed it perfectly. Very happy with the results and have been converted to a regular here. Highly recommend this salon — you absolutely won’t be disappointed!

This was probably my favorite mani pedi experience EVER! And I am a tough critic. Maribel sure knows her nails… xx e

During my day off, I got inspired to do some beautifying. I wanted to get out of UWS, & wanted to avoid Midtown, so I looked for a place downtown. Lo & behold, I came across this location via Unilocal.I called and booked for my manicure-​pedicure package.
I am very pleased with the results of my service. Maribel is an excellent nail technician! I don’t remember the last time I had gotten such a beautifully done manicure. Not to mention that my nails have survived my hair washing session this morning, so that’s a good sign too. My feet also feel significantly softer, and look a lot better.
Overall, I am so glad that I came here. I love the design of the salon/​spa (it’s very Crate & Barrel meets Restoration Hardware). I also enjoyed watching the beach scenes on the screen in the pedicure room. My experience was a wonderful addition to my day off, and I look forward to future visits.

Marie Lou & D is spacious, warm, and full of smiling, friendly faces. What a refreshing contrast to the lack of eye contact on the street outside!!! :) Both in being greeted at the door and checked out at the end of my appointment, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. Delighted, in fact! What a rare gem.
I saw Courtney for a facial two weeks ago! I AM STILL GLOWING!!! She is gentle, attentive, knowledgeable, and provides an atmosphere of pure relaxation and decadence. The facial room was calm, filled with gently relaxing music, and smelled deeply refreshing. I felt both heard and understood before, during, and after the session. Her attention to detail both in her listening and in explaining every step as it was happening put me at ease and enriched the experience. I feel so lucky to have found such magic!
I have sensitive skin and, for maybe the first time with a facial, did not feel raw afterward. I just felt refreshed! Caudalie, the product line used, is both gentle and effective. I took the grape water, beauty elixer and vinosource home with me to repeat the experience at home and it has been so fun! I cannot believe how even-​toned and glowing my skin still is!!!
Can’t wait for my next of many facials with Courtney!!!
Bonus: the neck/​shoulder massage at the beginning and the foot massage at the end was perfection.

I usually come in to Marie-​Lou & D for facials with Courtney. They are always great and very relaxing. Courtney uses Caudalie products and they make my skin feel amazing! On my last visit, Courtney gave me the best Brazilian wax ever!!! She is highly skilled and fast! I have been waxing for years but still experience some pain and discomfort from time to time. But not with Courtney! No pain or discomfort at all, and the results lasted for weeks!
I’ve also had mani and pedis here with Maribelle. She always gives me a great experience! My last gel manicure with her lasted 3 weeks and still looked perfect!

A group of 8 of us came here as part of my sister’s bachelorette weekend and everyone was amazing! We couldn’t have picked a better place to go. From the moment we walked in they greeted us with delicious water and Prosecco! They accommodated all of our needs and did such a great job on our hair and nails. Alisa helped organize our day there and she was amazing — so sweet and so accommodating. They made all of us — including my sister — feel so special!

This salon, located on the nice part of West Broadway, is beautiful and spacious.
I had both my nails done and eyebrows waxed here and both were wonderful services.
I’ve never had someone give my nails so much attention before. My manicurist, Maribel, shaped my nails beautifully and worked with me to pick out a nail color that was best for my skin tone and after it was done, I knew it was going to be a manicure that lasts. Sure enough, 5 days later and only minimal signs of wear and tear on one nail.
For my eyebrows, Courtney was so enthusiastic and lovely. The room for waxing was calming and the table you lay down on was HEATED. Such luxury.
Anyways, I think this place is fairly priced given the environment and the level of service.
