Hey I do agree they make some kick butt mojitos(with Don Q cristal). As a side note I believe they moved to Brooklyn. Please checkout their website.

Wow! I have been working in this area for 2.5 years, and just discovered this place by recommendation. Great service(Joe and staff)!!! Great food! But most of all GREATMOJITOS! Coconut is really good. Today is the last day this restaurant will open… So go have the best mojito!

Friendly staff, great ambiance, and excellent food! The complimentary house bread is a combination of spice cake and corn bread with green chilies… I need the recipe to impress the family. Next we had the chicken mole wrap, again way better than your average wrap. If your looking for something unusually delicious, you won’t be disappointed. Start or end your meal with a Batido or for all you non-Latinos an awesome piña colada basically.

I give Ideya between a 3.5 and a 4. I have had Argentinian food in the past and this was pretty good, but it’s more of a Latin mix than really an Argentinian place. What I can say for this place is that it’s quite romantic — the lighting is semi-dim and they have candles on every table. The décor is cute and colorful and the atmosphere is just nice. I went here on a Friday night with my darling bf. We both ordered the pineapple mojito and the Argentinian steak. I didn’t really like my mojito as much, as it was bitter. Swirling around and mixing it does help a bit, but I’ve had better mojitos elsewhere. However, the food was great. I liked the fried plantain chips they brought out at the beginning and the amazing vegetable dipping sauce/salsa. I also really liked my Argentinian steak. I asked for mine to be medium but it came out rare and I asked for it to be put back on the grill and they were nice about that. I liked the sauce on the steak and how seared it was. Mmm. I wasn’t a huge fan of the plantain fries(they became too sweet after a while), but the rest of the food was delicious. I’d recommend this place for a date or a girls’ night out, though the prices are a little steep if you decide to get drinks as well.

The first time I came to Ideya, this place literally knocked my socks off. I was so impressed that I even came back the night after. This Latin Bistro is a short walk from SoHo and is very cute and trendy. The first time we came here, they gave us some plantain chips and mango salsa to start off with. These were so addicting I couldn’t believe it. The combination of the two kept me yearning for more and I couldn’t believe what a tasty treat this was. I ordered the Bistec De Argentina which is marinated skirt steak and the flavor was right on point. The texture and the flavor was perfect and my meal was absolutely flawless. After I left NY, I longed after the plantain chips and mango salsa. No other Latin restaurant besides Ideya I’ve ever been to has ever served this combination of the two. On a more recent visit to NYC, I had to stop by Ideya again. It’s been about a year and a half since my last encounter with them and the restaurant has lost a bit of its’ luster. I got the exact same items, but it wasn’t as good as it was before. They were still good, but somehow they lost the wow factor it once had. I was even raving about it to my friends before we went, and they were unimpressed as well. Maybe it was just a bad day. I hope so because the first two experiences I had were probably some of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had.

Outstanding service. One of the few times I pulled my scoutmob coupon out and got a smile from the waiter. I didn’t even order a drink, and still got a genuine smile. Very sweet. I was there with a good friend of mine and we shared the tostones(super crunchy and truly tasty… huge portion), the latin-style corn(delicious), the steak with yucca fries(nothing special and a bit cold) and the chicken with cilantro mashed potatoes(dry). I wasn’t super-impressed with their entrees, but the appetizers were good and the service a reason to go back.

Great, small-but-lively gem in the SoHo area when you feel like enjoying cuisine from south of the states. Great for small-to-medium sized groups of people either catching up or celebrating some occasion. You won’t really go wrong with anything on the menu, but make sure to enjoy one of their mojitos or a caipirinhas — tres delicieux!

I’ve come to this restuarant many times over the past few years JUST for drinks since it’s conveniently located on West Broadway and they had outdoor seating. I had never eaten here before last week. The food was ok. pretty bland considering its Latin. All of our seafood dishes tasted funny and I know that everything we ordered had been made for hours and just re heated. The ropa vieja and steak were decent. Do not order the fish. I can’t say I am an expert on Mojitos, but I am quite the drinker and know the difference between alcohols. The alcohol they use is low grade stuff — I was bed ridden the next day after only 2 mojitos. Blah. I guess my liver will thank me for not coming back here.

Brunch only – My boyfriend and I landed here as a coincidence, the bright and color décor of the restaurant definitely attracted us. We gave it a shot since we were insanely hungry. Service was a bit slow but the food was amazing. Guava Mojito — Supposedly known with the best mojito in NYC and it sure doesn’t disappoint. The mojito was spot on and taste how a real mojito should. Salmón — Grilled salmon with a side salad along with a small dish of pineapple-plantain mojo. The salmon was nicely grilled and seasoned just right. A thin piece but definitely a big piece of fish. Huevos Ideya — This dish blew me away. A total twist on the classic eggs benedict. I love the chorizo and corn arepa that replaced the regular english muffin and ham/bacon. The slight sweetness of the corn arepa was so appetizing. Oh, the egg was poached perfectly with a runny yolk and a cooked egg white. Amazing brunch selection. Makes me wonder how their dinner menu taste like. I recommend any kind of mojito and also the Island Punch if you want something more heavy with a slight kick.
