Great, friendly service and amazing food! We went last night for dinner and will definitely be back!

My husband and I were very pleased with the excellent service at the restaurant. Lina, our knowledgeable server, was very attentive and kind. We enjoyed her recommendations most especially the fish ribs, which we’ve never even heard of. Portion sizes were big. Rated it 4 stars because though our entrees were good — the Branzino and the Mixta. My husband enjoyed the Branzino but the sides weren’t his favorite. The Mixta, really good but a smidgen salty for me. For two people, an appetizer and two entrees were more than enough for us to share. The tiramisu was perfectly light with just the right sweetness, which we had as take out. Again, service was exceptional — They even went out of their way to help us with directions and accommodating our time constraint. This restaurant is a gem!

We were in the city for a date weekend, which typically involves lots of restaurant and bar hopping. Here are some of the high points: — as we entered there was a small crowd at the bar(we took them to be family or friends). We were warmly greeted and welcomed. It was a pleasant surprise. The Maître de was warm and courteous. — Our waiter(Brian? Sorry…) was professionally attentive and friendly. Service was prompt with nice descriptions and suggestions. — The food was excellent. The salmon brulee was very interesting and delicious — our favorite. Also had the mixed ceviche and the lobster and baked egg. My bride and I like to share small plates — they do that well here. — We had the white sangria. It was sweet(to be expected), but very fruity. We would not hesitate to recommend

Small cosy place with a warm décor. Only went for drinks and had some really amazing cocktails. The bartender was brilliant and extremely focused on the likes of his customer — I ordered a drink that wasn’t to my liking and the bartender offered to replace with another drink of my choice, free of charge. I tried the negroni which I truly enjoyed — well made cocktail and I would recommend to anyone who loves bitter beverages.

I wasn’t very excited about coming to this place but my boyfriend was because he enjoys seafood, however this was overall a mediocre experience. Service was okay, food was not m good and the kitchen is open so you hear arguments and personal conversations through out your whole meal.

Went here for a friend’s event. Only had drinks and some appetizers but the service and the staff were amazing through and through. They offered a free first drink to attendees of the event, and it was delicious, refreshing and fruity. My next drink was an Old Fashioned, which had an awesome addition of a cherry flavored egg white. Delicious. The manager and staff were friendly and happily socialized with our group during the times they were not busy. Towards the end of the night, they offered us a complimentary sampling of dishes, including guac and chips and several types of tacos. So tasty! Many thanks to the people of La Pulperia for their wonderful hospitality and I’m looking forward to coming back, especially for the drag show!

Flavors abound at this Latin American seafood restaurant nestled among a row of other worthy dining choices on restaurant row in the theater district. Make your way past Sushi of Gari and Sushi Seki outposts as well as well known institutions like Joe Allen’s to this sliver of a restaurant housed in a narrow subterranean space. We opted for the El Chilango which is a perfect concoction that mimics a margarita but is way better than most I’ve had. The balance of spice and salt is divine. We dined here pre-theatre and were very happy customers. I had the crudo tasting which is absolutely plenty for one person as an entrée. The salmon brûlée is like heaven on a plate, the mixto ceviche of scallops and calamari also good but a little more predictable. The pulpo with chorizo is also original and simply spectacular. The hangar steak was a monster portion served sizzling with six mini sides-what a genius concept?! No need to add sides because these little ramekins contain a taste of each of their signature aides. I did order an extra side of the grilled broccoli rabe and that was great too. And I just found out that they have an UES location. Highly recommend for pre theatre or any time. Great food, nice beverage selection and all at a decent price point!

Ok service. The owner/manager dude seemed real nice to some regulars but cold to others. The waitress gave me shit for not liking one of my appetizers and her tude was just not cool. My fiancé to the octopus but don’t get it — it is too fishy smelling, the texture was too chewy, and there was no seasoning or good oil. He highlight was my fiancé’s pisco hibiscus martini.

While my wife and I eat out a lot, this is my first Unilocal review because this place is so terrific I felt I owed to Ricardo(manager) and Daniel(server) and rest of team. Cozy, comfortable, unpretentious, and great service. We thought this was a great bargain — while we visit NYC frequently, we are from ATL and typically pay this or more for lesser experience and quality — even in the burbs. The food from starters through dessert was outstanding if not amazing with the freshness and balance of the flavors — especially the Moqueca Mixta. Definitely coming back on next visit to NYC. Thanks again Ricardo and Daniel!

We went for brunch on Saturday and found the food to be very flavorful. My biggest disappointment was the size of some of the portions. The baked eggs were delicious but very petite for a $ 20 entrée and very little lobster. But very tasty! Service was extremely friendly and sufficient. Best dish ordered was the Tostada. I’d like to try dinner there some time.

Don’t tell anyone. This place on restaurant row(not really known for outstanding food) is simply terrific. Small and narrow, it’s perfect for a solo dining experience at the bar. The barkeep, manager, and regulars helped select my cocktail and wine. Tequila cocktails are not to be missed. The highlight of the night and my holiday trip was the pulpo. Never have I been served such fabulous octopus. Really, terrifically great. Grilled then baked, it was unique to anything I’ve eaten. The staff is so welcoming – like actually happy you’re there. Run don’t walk.

Quite pricy for the food, but it was pretty good. Lina took care of us pretty well lol The fish ribs($ 25) came in 4 pieces. Very smoked/tasty, but i worry about stomach cancer from these kinds of smoked foods. The steak pacanha($ 35) was too rare when we asked for medium well so we sent it back to get it cooked again. Sides were solid. Overall expensive, slightly above average latin food. Nice place. Very small/crammed, had to literally squeeze our way out

This place has amazing food and an even better staff. I made a reaervation for 6 and wasn’t able to make it there until 630. The host was so sweet when I apologized and brought me to my table where my waiter was very knowledgeable of the different wines or drinks I might like. The waiter also asked if My aunt(who was with me) and I were going to see a Broadway play(which we were) and he assured us he would have us out on time so that we would not be late. Overall it was a wonderful experience. I will definitely be coming back.

Eating here felt welcoming like having dinner at a friends house. Had to look for the address despite trying to nav my way there so, if there’s a sign, i sure missed it! I suppose that’s part of the charm tho. Super low key restaurant. Small, intimate setting w lively music and friendly crowd. Kinda pricey for what it is but a fun experience regardless. I was able to make reservations day-of but there was plenty of room at the bar and seating available at a few tables. I met both the owner and the manager — both insanely nice and made some recommendations based on what I described my buds were craving and I was fortunate enough to get to try out some unique dishes — fish ribs and broccolini(had a surprising kick to it!) are MUST gets! Lobster taco was better than I expected, prob great for most but I don’t even normally like tacos or lobster: P Too full to try the dessy but it def looked good… yep, I was eyeing everybody else’s haha. Next time I’m here I’m gonna bring more people so we can do it family style. YESSS mmmm

Came to this amazing gem for a girlfriends birthday cooking class. The décor was well done, it was a rustic Spanish feel. The ambiance was great; trendy, and low key. Everyone of us enjoyed the cooking class, we also learned to make a signature cocktail! The chef and the mixologist were amazing! They were helpful, knowledgeable and fun. After the cooking class we tried a couple more of their signature drinks and each was better than the next! The dishes were also delicious, empanadas were probably the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend checking this place out!

You ever find yourself heading home after a long day of work and suddenly have an undeniable craving for fresh oysters? Once that thought is planted into your mind it won’t go away no matter how hard of a day you had. The only cure, a visit to La Pulperia and their happy hour dollar blue point oysters. A nice little restaurant tucked along restaurant row. Laid back décor, retro lights and brick stone walls adds to the settle charms of this little hideaway. Large yellow incandescent bulbs bring back a vintage atmosphere to the exposed brick stone walls and the hardwood floorboards. Sitting at the bar you get access to their happy hour menu items that range from the dollar oysters to salmon tacos. Their empanadas and guacamole were also delicious. My fiancé tried the happy margarita and she enjoyed the drink very much. Not too strong and flavorful at the same time. The manager came by and introduced himself and made small talk. A very friendly fellow, and that goes for the staff as well. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and courteous. He was nice enough to give us a shot of their sponsored tequila to try. Who can argue with service that gives and gives? Overall, the place may be small and not packed to the door with people but sometimes the places with less people makes for a better experience.

Upscale without breaking the bank. Unique without being inedible or too fantastical. And the service is top notch! My wife and I went on a weekend trip to the city and stayed around the corner. Our last night in town we wandered in here for a drink and say right down at the bar. Being in the theater district of you go after the shows start it’s easy to get in. Right away the bartender was asking what we’d like and what we’d like to try. They have a specialized drink menu and offer a tasting menu specifically for drinks! What a joy. Wife ordered a margarita and I went for the taster. Ranged from sweet to spicy to smokey. Unreal! We also got a small taco plate and but the time we left, the manager was telling stories and sharing drinks with us! Please go. Top of my list and we ate at #ALLthePLACES.

Wow what an experience! I had the fish ribs and my father had the Alaskan King Crab legs. We will order the same exact thing when we return. To add, we ordered a dozen oysters, the broccoli rabe and a piece of cheesecake. This restaurant is Latin fusion, and I can’t imagine any restaurant of this kind being any better. The service was impeccable and the food was an absolute delicacy. I will recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great spot on restaurant row before a show or not.

Salmon Brûlée is the bomb. It’s really creative and the flavor is rich and complex. Fish ribs are also really special and cook to perfection. Cocktails are all pretty decent. If you are the first timer, try their cocktail sampler combo. The desserts are pretty disappoint for the both time I visited. The service is nice, but they seem to keep asking if you want to order tequila shots, that’s a bit annoying. I will come back again for sure.

Hidden gems on restaurant row… We came in for happy hour specials but ended up staying much much longer. They had a great happy hour menu, $ 1 oysters and other tapas. Portions were a bit on the smaller side but they definitely don’t skimp out. We ordered the salmon tacos which were bite size but packed with salmon, mango, onions and citrus flavor in every bite. Guacamole was fresh and excellent with those warm macho chips. The highlight of the evening was the drinks. Our bartender Daniel was excellent, he explained the makeup of all the drinks to us. They were made from alcohol of different origins, Spain, Peru, Argentina. Each drink had different flavor profiles, I had the Carlos gardel which was packed with a sweet citrus flavor while my friend had the chilando which had a nice spicy kick to it. Both were excellent. but Daniel topped it with one of his epic creations, a tequila and mango flavor margarita like concoction with a spicy habernero salt on the rim. That won me over. I’ll definitely be coming back for more.

Went here for brunch on a Saturday. It was FANTASTIC. We decided to go for the $ 20 for two hours of unlimited drinks. My boyfriend started with a bloody Mary and I ordered the red sangria. While a lot of unlimited drink deals just toss some cheap ingredients together for the drinks, both his bloody mary and my sangria were delicious and carefully crafted. For food, he had the tostadas and I had the eggs benedict with sangria braised short ribs. Both were flavorful with great hearty portions. The service was attentive but not invasive. We had a great experience and will definitely be back.

The entire experience was amazeballs. The service was helpful and attentive without being too hover-y. They explained the menu, the specials and their famous seafood stew. The atmosphere is romantic but I was there with my boss, so it was a good environment for intimate discussions(gossip) about work. We started with some oysters that were so fresh, they tasted like they were pulled out of the ocean just moments before. We also shared the salmon bruleé. I like tartare, poke and carpaccio just fine but this sounded weird to me. Raw salmon mixed with seasonings and finely-chopped veggies then topped with brown sugar and torched? No, thank you. I couldn’t have been more wrong! The flavor was amazing, the texture was fun and I devoured every speck. Soooooo yummy. Lastly, we each had our own bowl of the seafood stew(Moqueca Mixta). I couldn’t believe how much I ate. I couldn’t help it — the flavors were rich and developed, the seafood was fresh and the calamari was better than I’ve ever had in my life. And I’ve had a LOT. We ended with La Ponche de Abuela(grandma’s punch). It was hot with pears, spices and was absolutely delicious. Well done La Pulperia! This is a must for NYC diners. Just don’t make out with your boss.

I would not rush here, but if I’m in the area and in the mood for modern Latin cuisine, La Pulperia will not dissappoint. The space is small and narrow, and the rustic, nautical theme makes it feel casual. I don’t have too much experience with Latin cuisine, but the food here is less flavorful, but more refined than my impression of the cuisine. Definitely get the Pacu Pacu fish ribs, a very creative take on your typical Carolina BBQ pork ribs. Get your fingers dirty and be careful with the bones! The moqueca, aka Fishermen’s stew, was very rich and a little salty, which is not uncommon for this type of dish. The cocktails are a bit of the sweet side for me, but I like the use of tropical fruit flavors. The service was great and our meal was enjoyable. Because of the small, rustic feel of the restaurant, the prices appear a bit higher than they should be.
