Came here for a late night dinner. Staff was friendly. The chicken was delicious the lamb meatballs were a little gamey. Overall, we had a good meal but nothing too fantastic. Then the sad part is that I left my shawl behind by accident. I tried calling that night and now it is the third DAY since I have tried to call. AMAZINGLYTHERESTAURANTHASNOPHONEOR the operator that answers the general number refuses to give it to me. When I ask if they can see whether my scarf is at the restaurant, I had it on the chair, the operators were very snooty and insisted that they could do nothing until they heard from the«manager». Day 3 and despite my calling several times I have yet to hear from this restaurant. SOMUCHFORCUSTOMERSERVICEANDCARINGFORTHECUSTOMER!!! VERYDISAPPOINTED.

I had come here for brunch and waited for about 45 mins to be seated. The restaurant is fairly small and very much tight on space but again, it is New York City. We were sat in a very small table towards the back, and I think it’s rather of an awkward seating because beside us are people’s butts sitting on a stool(they’re dining on the countertop table facing the kitchen). Anyway, I had the«Benedict», and they gave a great amount of fresh smoked salmon! And with scallion cream too, yum! I gotta say my dish was a 10⁄10 so anyone who loves Benedict for breakfast/brunch, I recommend trying theirs! My boyfriend got the Poblano Hash. His sirloin was salty but the potatoes were very good. Overall, our experience wasn’t bad. Hostess was great keeping us updated though our wait was rather long. The service was a little slow but I was satisfied with my meal!

Everything was nice. The coffee was hot/flavorful(french press). The service was attentive and friendly. Then when I ordered my meal, it had a ~10 inch strand of what turned out to be a KITCHENRAG, that I had to pull out of my mouth. Best part, it wasn’t taken off my bill. I would have argued on the spot, but my gf is EXTREMELY confrontation averse(unless it is with me).

Great for late night dining. Will definitely be back for brunch. Enjoyed the cauliflower salad and brussel sprouts.

I am so disappointed we didn’t dine here as the food looked phenomenal and based on the reviews we must come back. We came here from a recommendation and stopped in for a drink. I loved the atmosphere. It was cute and cozy and there was a Virginia license plate on the wall(represent!). My friend said she had the best wine there and kept raving about it. There’s not much standing room but we made do. Will definitely come back for dinner at some point.

Literally my favorite place to eat in NY. Amazing menu choices which only gets better once you get the food you chose– the fooddddd is ahhhhmazing. Great atmosphere, great music/vibe, amazing hosts and servers. I love the ambiance in there and its good for both dinner/lunch or brunch. Small in there which is what makes it so special but make sure to get there early or prepare to wait for a table… either way its worth the wait. LOVELOVELOVE

I’ve become a regular here for dinner and drinks and, now here for brunch, I’m finding myself tied to this place. While the pricing may seem steep, the energies portion sizes of AMAZING food more than justify it. Even their appetizers and sides are heaped on, enticing you to stay for hours as you relish every single last bite. Do try their caramel used cauliflower(dinner) or their sriracha sprouts(brunch) — these two side dishes are house favorites and you’ll find out why! As for entrees, pick anything — I dare you to be disappointed! The amazing food, complemented by a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make this place worth revisiting over and over again :-) looking forward to my next meal here!

Enjoyed a wonderful meal tonight, chefs table with Neal running the show. Smooth and solid flow of food, light touches and tuned in staff and kitchen shine here. Grilled Octopus with lentils and Frisée, rich yet subtle was delightful. My wife had the egg drop soup, with crispy chicken skin, egg and chicken pieces In a light, lemony chicken both. She had the lamb meatballs, 2 per order, with a flavorful eggplant and humus spread. I had the Crispy Ham Hock, deep fried but moist, not greasy and lots of bone to keep flavor, with a huge Arugula salad to balance the elements. Finally, after a few tasty Ma oysters from Peters Point, we finished with the salted caramel pudding with perfect salt/sweet topping, not heavy at all So congrats to the staff and kitchen, we will be back.

Went on a Tuesday night and only waited about 15 minutes! It’s definitely on the pricier side, but a great spot in the east village for a nice dinner with one or two other people. They play amazing music as well. We sat at the bar and were treated really well! I had the New York strip with caramelized spaghetti squash and broccoli rabe, with a blue cheese butter and it was maybe one of my favorite steaks in the city.

It’s a nice quaint(very small) place in the West Village. Lucky enough to roll out of bed and walk in at an early enough time to get a table for brunch. We order the avocado toast with poach eggs, saucisson a l’ail and finally the country fried bacon. Everything was good. But didn’t really like their take on hashbrowns. Felt more like a shredded potato cake lightly deep fried. Interior felt like it could be raw. The country fried bacon, it was glorious! If you can get a table, you’ll enjoy it here.

Joseph Leonard is a nice West Village brunch spot. The restaurant is tiny, so I wouldn’t recommend going in groups bigger than 2 otherwise the wait would take a long time. I got the cuban sandwich which had pulled pork and Swiss cheese, and came with polenta fries. I can see why people like this place– the food is good, not too expensive, and it has the West Village charm, however it is honestly nothing too much out of the ordinary. I would still come back if I was in the neighborhood though, and perhaps try another dish.

Being named Joseph Leonard, I felt I had to check out Joseph Leonard the restaurant. I loved the location, interior of the restaurant and the waitress was very friendly. I went for breakfast and would like to come back to try lunch or dinner. The breakfast was ok but nothing was overly great. I had the avocado toast and the Brussels sprouts. My problem was everything was very salty, even my egg whites. Left me wanting something sweet after breakfast to rid the salt overload. I would come back but it would be for lunch or dinner.

My boyfriend and I ducked in here to escape the rain and by chance, we chose an incredible place. It’s a tiny establishment, but very cute and cozy none the less. Sitting at the bar was very comfortable, not daunting, as I feel in some places, and everybody just seemed to be very relaxed. We ordered two cocktails – the skeletor and waking up the animals($ 13 each). The skeletor was much stronger than waking up the animals. The mezcal was bit too strong for my taste, but my boyfriend loved it. On the other hand, you could hardly taste the alcohol in mine, but once I finished the drink, I could definitely feel it. Great place to stop by for a drink and enjoy the atmosphere. They also have an incredible selection of wine. Additionally, the woman at the bar was great!

Pros: Great seating area Good service Cons: The breakfast special with sausages Flat sparkling wine Limited beer selection The service was pleasing but the food(for which we went) was below par. I didn’t follow the theme here, but it had elements of Latin American and French in the fare. I got the breakfast special which at $ 16 I’d expect to get proper sausages. I instead got bone dry garlic sausage(4 cut pieces which don’t add up to one sausage) and a heavily burnt hash brown. The hash was downright inedible. I had to request our hostess for toast so that I could at least eat the eggs. So overall I got about as much out of my meal as the deli that gives me a sausage roll for $ 2. Lastly the sparkling wine(Spanish) was flat but not bad enough for me to return. Too many rockstar places in the village for me to return here.

Because I never brunch And here i am brunching! The wait is a bit long(we came on a Sunday around 1ish… and there was still a wait) The place is very tiny… not good for any group over 4 Service was a bit slow, or maybe they were short handed or it was REALLY that busy(i was with a party of 3 at the bar).whatever the situation was, it took a while before we placed our orders. I tried the Country Fried Bacon Fried Chicken Sandwich Monkey Bread Monkey Bread — good for sharing, the blueberries were a great touch to cut through the sweetness but i definitely cant eat this alone! It is similar to a cinnamon bun but not quite. My friend said it was really sweet but i thought it was okay. Fried Chicken Sandwich — it was good, not bad but not amazing! I feel like I’m ruined for other fried chicken places ever since i had Peaches HotHouse and all them other really good chicken places. My chicken had a LOT of fat in it so it was kinda hard to eat and i got a lot of oil drooling out of the chicken. I did like the pickles, not really pickle-y but enough to help with the heavy chicken. The chips were blah… i barely ate it(and i love chips) The saver of this whole review!!! THEBACON!!! I mean BACON!!! i never really cared for bacon until I moved to NYC(what is this conspiracy?!) but man… this holy grail of deliciousness… where have you been hiding! It is soooo good! Its crunchy, its bacony… it has honey and tabasco… i mean… imma keep this short cause there are no words to describe this… GETTHIS… YOUMUST! Overall, it was a pretty good meal! I would come back solely for the bacon… prices were alright and reasonable! And it looks like the drinks were very popular here. GETTHEBACON

This is my favorite brunch spot in all of NYC. I am *confident* that it’s the best. Every time I eat here, the service is amazing, an anomaly in the West Village(Read: I live in Brooklyn and tend to avoid the snobby, nondiverse W. Village vibe). Plus, the food is just on another level compared to its competitors. The Salmon Benedict is a dream. They don’t use hollandaise sauce! Instead, the perfectly poached eggs sit on pain perdu and it’s coated with a light scallion cream. Each bite whisks you away to the French countryside. The Bloody Caesar is a *must* for my friends who think spice should have its own food group. I always leave off the bacon wrapped sprout(no pig for me), but the oyster that accompanies is delicious. Just be sure to swivel that tongue of yours around the spice rim… you will love that heat.(Order the sriracha brussel sprouts if you like spice, too). The hash browns should be tried at least once. They are not your mama’s hash browns. No, no, no. The inside is made with sauteed purple potatoes and the outside is composed of yellow potatoes. But ONLY a thin layer of the outside is fried. Can I coin the term seared potato sashimi? Now the Monkey Bread is deceivingly large. But you MUST order it as your brunch dessert. You laugh, but just trust. It is amazing. The brioche is light and the blueberries and light crème are equally light. This is like the huge éclair, that was larger than my face, that we scarfed down in 2.5 seconds(read my review of «Comptoir de la Gastronomie» in Paris). Recently my spouse had the steak and eggs and all he said was«unfu*&ingbelievable», «on par with the benedict». THEN him and his mom ordered the country fried bacon(honey and tabasco) and all I heard was«that’s unreal», «WTF»… Just go. wait in the line, bring a book, do whatever you can do to eat here.

Went here on a Sunday on one of the most Spectacular spring days. I knew there would be a wait, so I went 40 min early for a table for two. Waited my alloted time, and sat at a cozy spot at the bar. I debated getting the sausage, eggs benny, or egg sammy, but in the essence of the season I wanted fare on the lighter side. My friend and I both got the avocado toast and eggs. I got mine poached, with a side of the Brussels Sprouts. He got his over easy, with a side of cheesy grits. All very well done(and not in the over cooked sense…) and the quaintness of the place could just kill ya. I wish they had outdoor seating, but hey I did enjoy my stool. I don’t think I need to go back, as I tend to value innovative menus over those that stick to the classics. But, I had been dying to try and now I can say I went. Joseph Leonard, it was a great first date, I may need to try Jeffreys across the way next Sunday, just to see if I am missing out!

****Make Your Own Fish Tacos***** That should be the real name of the dish of the«Whole Roasted Dourade» served with posole, corn tortillas and mole Poblano. I thought it was going to be a stuffy fancy dish. However, I asked the waitress, Allyson about the fish and she really sold it. She mentioned that it was one of her favorites on the menu. The fish is nice, white juicy meat and it is served with a little avocado sauce. a radish/tomato/cilantro salad, half a roasted blood orange and a small bowl of posole. Wow! The menu didn’t mention the avocado or the blood orange. I was sold! Growing up my mom would always make mole but it wasn’t until I was an adult that I really started to enjoy it. I love it’s earthy and rich flavors. And this mole did not disappoint. My fish arrived in it’s glorious entirety, Allyson was nice enough to remove the majority of the bones. And then it was onto my favorite part, assembling. I love making my own tacos because I can put just the right amount of everything into each taco, making every bite the best. I could have easily used a whole blood orange. Allyson gave me some limes and extra tortillas. I had 3 tortillas to begin with. Every tortilla was filled with fish, some radish, a few tomato, a cilantro sprig, a lil’ avocado and finished with a squeeze of lime. Delicious! I was in taco heaven! The posole took me back to my childhood. My mom would always make posole and it was just that perfect winter comfort food. It was a simple yet oh so satisfying. I have to mention that I also ordered a delicious cocktail«Waking Up the Animals» a tasty basil pink peppercorn gin, with ginger agave, lime and club soda. It tasted like spring, light and refreshing. It was the perfect contrast to the fish tacos.

Wow. This kind of brunch place is right up my alley. Small, lineup out the door … you feel like you’re part of the secret, and you’re now in the club! I love that feeling! Not going to lie, was a teeny bit hungover when I was here. That meant I had to get their well known Bloody Mary No. 20, which came with a little beer as a chaser. Nothing to cure a hangover like that, huh? Namsayin’? For food, I ordered the good ‘ol eggs benedict with smoked salmon, and it was incredible! The brioche underneath was a great change to the classic, and the eggs were oozing perfection. I also ordered a French Press Coffee, and if the Bloody Mary couldn’t do it, it was this coffee that made me feel human again. Excellent coffee, I definitely could have had more. Inside, the atmosphere was very busy. The only place left for us to sit was on the bar, but this was no problem since I love watching the behind-the-bar scenes. Lovely place for brunch!
