We had brunch at Horchata, where they do a bottomless sangria /draft beer /mimosa deal on Saturday and Sunday. For $ 30 you get that plus a brunch entrée, plus chips and guacamole. Guacamole was good, and the chips were good too. They use the thicker type of chip, which is nice for dipping in guacamole since it won’t break on you. Sangia was quite good(both red and white), too. I had a brunch quesadilla which was good, but not the best ever. Be warned, if you go after around 12:30pm, the place may be very packed. We went around 11:30am and had no issue getting seated, but when we left every table was occupied.

We went to Horchata today for brunch with our family. I wish I could give this place more stars, because the staff and décor are fabulous. The guacamole, chips, and drinks are also delicious. However, I was really underwhelmed by the entrees we received. I got the banana french toast and it was pretty boring. My family members got tacos and quesadillas and were also disappointed. I would definitely go back here for a happy hour and snacks, but not so sure I’d return for brunch.

Came here on my birthday a couple months back and had so much fun. The bartender was super friendly and provided excellent service and delicious margaritas and shots! The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely recommend and definitely going back soon! Plus, their happy hour deals are great!

Came to Horchata for a drink at the bar, learned they have a 30 dollar bottomless brunch which looked gooooood. They have some awesome margaritas and unique drinks, super trendy atmosphere, and great dj like music perfect for bottomless brunching. I only had the shrimp cocktail which was delicious not your average, came with an awesome sauce and avocado. The kale salad was also super delicious. I will be back for brunch ASAP !!!

I am from California originally and it is so hard to find decent Mexican food in NYC, and this is good fancy Mexican food! The guacamole was fresh and the chips were hot and salty, so delicious! My margarita was alright, not the best, definitely a little over priced for what it was. We got the dessert tacos which were to die for, cinnamon sugar taco shells and chocolate and banana filling and a strawberry-kiwi pico de gallo, a real show stopper, so absolutely wonderful! I will definitely be completely my back, my tummy is very happy

I love this place! I’m surprised that none of me or my friends has noticed it till last wkd. We went for the $ 30 bottle less brunch. You can drink mimosa, sangria, Bloody Mary or beer unlimited for 2 hours with any entrée and the guac& chips. Great deal! I love the guac& chips, our quesadillas weren’t too bad either. Also, sitting by the bar is also a good idea because you can get a refill much quicker ;)

I swear to god, these people charged me $ 10 for two chicken flautas cut in half with four tablespoons of guacamole on the side. The nachos were dry — barely any queso and no beans. The side of beans was another $ 5. The music was so loud that the waitress couldn’t hear our order. An extra star for cute logo and branding. Get your shit together Horchata.

Review based on Brunch — came on a Saturday for brunch(3 people) and learned they do take reservations for all parties, despite what their website says(FYI). We were thankfully able to snag three seats at the bar for their unlimited special. The food was pretty good but the chips and guac were amazing — they freshly fry the chips and the guac is crazy fresh! We did the white wine sangria for most of bottomless before switching to beer — I am not sure why a Mexican restaurant can’t do some sort of margarita for their brunch but it seems like I am not the only person raising that question… maybe things got too crazy! The chorizo quesadilla was really good and filing — I would love to try the tacos as well! They have traditional breakfast options but it seems like their signature dishes are the best. Will be back!

I need to preface this with the fact that I didnt have the food here. I just came to the bar for drinks. It’s a nice little space with a full tequila collection. If you like Tequila, this place seems like a good chill little bar to meet a friend at for a drink. All the cocktails seemed well made and the staff was friendly, all in all a nice place.

Lively atmosphere, good food, great margaritas, centrally located, accommodating & well-fit for large groups. Have now been here for 2 birthday dinners — both have been successful. One sat 20 people, the other had 10. All were fun, well served, and good times. I want to review the food BUT I was a bottle of champagne deep by the time I made it to dinner. All I can really remember is the chips+guac. I do remember enjoying the tacos I ordered, but nothing specific. Margaritas are good and around $ 11 – 12 per. Atmosphere is lively, and service is helpful for refills /additional orders /etc. DO: come here for brunch. $ 30 = entrée, chips + guac, & unlimited /bottomless mimosas /bloody maries /mexican beers /sangria. Great deal at a cute restaurant that serves good food.

Cute little trendy Mexican restaurant in the west village. It’s got great food that I am partial because of my heritage and the service is amazing. The el pastor tacos are where it’s at and with a margarita is probably the best way to go. Also love the guacamole and chips. It’s great if you are looking for quality food without the hassle.

Horchata NY Manhattan West Village 5pm Sunday 26th July 2015 Four Stars We came by this bar/restaurant looking to cool off with some delicious horchata. I never associated this Latin American drink with Orgeat but seems very similar to me. We ordered some booze-y Horchata. We tried both the(1) Drunken which was the classic Horchata: almond, rice, Mexican cinnamon, plus rum AND(2) Funky Monkey which is the«Drunken» + Vanilla Stoli Vodka + Kahlua served in an actually Tiki monkey cup. We decided to snack on the Salpicon de Res($ 15) which is chips and Guacamole on crack. It comes with Shredded beef, lettuce, avocado, habanero chile, lime-oregano vinaigrette. The corn chips were warm and crispy. We also ordered corn off the cob. Everything tasted delicious and was quite filling. The service was great by everyone there. The manager/owner was quite welcoming. The music was 80s/90s then random salsa music.

Great food. The meal was perfect size. Not too big, but not too small. Just enough to feel good and not to overeat. By the decorations and atmosphere I think it may be a great place for dating and meeting friends.

I’ve been here a couple of times now and I’ll keep coming back. The staff is always friendly and Horchata’s manager, John is a pleasure to deal with. He’s very welcoming and courteous to everyone who comes in. The décor and music give this place a cool and lively vibe. Today my boyfriend and I had the classic guacamole and chips, steak tacos and mushroom quesadilla, AMAZING!!! I also had my usual, funky monkey drink and my boyfriend tried for the first time a cinnamon horchata spiced Blue Moon beer, WOW!!! As if our afternoon couldn’t get any better, Keisha, which I believe is a hostess, sent us off with two tickets for two free drinks for the next time we visit and a hug. She was an absolute sweetheart.

A friend & I were wandering around looking for a new spot for a casual beverage or six on a Friday night. Although we missed the Happy Hour cutoff for Horchata, we decided to go in because of the relaxed-yet-energized aura that seemed to be happening here. It was a beautiful night, so the front was completely open to accommodate the comfortable breeze. The lights were dimly lit & the décor complimentary to the island feel. Tip for Twosomes: If you want a great deal, go for the pitcher of Sangria. It says that for $ 38 it serves four, but my friend & I magically squeezed another drink each out of the pitcher, which saved us money in the long run.(For the mathematically challenged: we anticipated 2 drinks each, we got 3.) The white sangria was a delightful mix, although I’m intrigued to try the apple cider in a different season. The bartender was really attentive & personable. Although a bit impatient with the Pandora playlist(he was changing songs before they were even finished), he noticed that I was trying to «Shazaam» one of the songs & offered the title /artist to me to save me the trouble. Have an extra $ 2 to your tip, my Knight in Pandora Megamix Armor. Okay, so I’ve raved about this place for 3 paragraphs now, but this one sentence right here should do the trick to justify 5 stars: Perfect chip-to-guacamole ratio.

I really wanted to like this place, but thought it was just ok… Being from Texas I should know that NYC is not a place to find Tacos like we have back home in Texas… I came here for a quick Sunday brunch and found the place pricey for the amount of food you get… I also found the Tacos pretty boring and bland.

Imagine my surprise – and delight – when I walked in here on a Sunday noon to find the place practically empty. With the enticing brunch menu and varied drink menu, there’s little else to the brunch equation that Horchata is missing. We had the guacamole to start – delicious with awesome thick chips for dipping. Great for munching on while you gradually get your brunch buzz going. For savory lovers, I recommend the sausage quesadilla which hits the spot, and is perfect for sharing(…if you’re a kinder person than I am). For sweet tooths, the Banana French toast is not too heavy, and is dressed with this delicious Horchata cinnamon house made syrup that blows your socks off. For those whose main priority is to get as drunk as possible and completely neglect your remaining Sunday duties, get the $ 30 boozy brunch special and swim in a sea of their delicious white wine sangria. I am not shamed to admit that I did partially stumble out of this establishment after my meal, but it was well worth it.
