$ 10.90 for one mediocre meatball slice of pizza, awful since it’s right next to the 72nd street subway station. I can’t wait for it to be replaced by something decent. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Excellent pizza, I don’t know why it doesn’t have better reviews here. Love that the pizzas have thin crusts, that you can order a variety, and that they are Roman style — not the cheap, oily stuff found around the neighborhood.

Popped in on a whim, without checking Unilocal, and regretted it for several reasons. The price tag alone is stupid — $ 6 – 10 per slice. If the food and ambience were up to that bar I’d have considered giving as high as 4 stars. But the egregious price is as pathetic as the pizza. Crust: crunchy with no chewiness or real flavor. Much too thick for a thin crust pizza, accentuating the lack of chewiness. Sauce: This is where a gourmet pizza should shine. Instead you get sauce so thinly spread and watery that there’s no discernable tomato flavor as a result. Toppings: Way sparse! Tiny quantities of mozzerela. One piece of basil. Chunks of sausage so small they may as well not be there. Etc. SKIPIT!

I wanted to like you. To be honest, I sort of do, but not like I hoped to. Your options seemed enticing. Organic. Cheese shipped from Italy. Crunchy crust. Why things didn’t work out… Not much taste. I barely tasted the truffle oil on the Felice slice. I did taste salt. A lot of it. The DOC slice was pretty tasteless too. $ 20 for two slices, 1 water and 1 small apple juice. I can’t afford this boring relationship.

Really good, fresh pizza with wonderful ingredients. The crust is delicious and they seem to use fresh mozzarella instead of regular mozzarella cheese. I also love the gimmick of the long pie with the long boxes. It feels like a step up from the regular, round pizza pie from your local parlor. The smaller square shapes make this a nice accompaniment to other food if you are entertaining at home or for a kids pizza party. They make fresh pies very quickly, presumably because the crust is thin so you don’t have to wait long for a custom order. My primary hesitation is the price. While the full pie is slightly larger than the standard 8-piece round pie it hurts a little bit to pay double the price. Maybe I need to change my mindset that this pizza should not be compared to regular pizza. I can honestly say that its better and different but it likely will not replace our standard pizza parlor a few doors down…

Problem number 1… the pizza slices didn’t really look that appealing in the window. They looked thin and small and looked rather dull on the surface. But you can’t judge a book by its cover. «I’ll try the little mini calzone looking thing, that could be interesting». It looked sorta small and I was gonna get something else but like I said, nothing else looked good unfortunately. Anyways Problem number 2… okay you’re ready to go. «That’ll be almost $ 13 sir» lmao! WHAT??? Boy did I feel foolish thinking my ten dollar bill would suffice. I finally looked up at the board and noticed the prices. Jesus christmas… that’s just too much money guys. This is take out food. I got something that’s half the size of a normal calzone that costs $ 8 anywhere in the world. Well I paid it. Here’s the worst part … Problem number 3. .ugh and in the end it just really didn’t taste all that good. It was fine I guess. But man if you’re charging those prices, these slices better taste amazing. Kinda flavorless. I was dying for ketchup or hot sauce. Just not worth it at all. This is NYC. I can get shit pizza for a dollar but I can also get solid pizza for $ 3-$ 6. I can get a kick ass veggie/buffalo/mushroom slice for $ 6 anywhere. it’s new york. This is a bad idea. I feel like shark tank here… i forbid this business model to continue. It looks bad. It tastes okay. It’s expensive as fuck. Try again guys

I had the Margherita style, was excellent. Unfortunately, this place is a luxury as so vastly overpriced. Boy do I miss Big Nicks on Broadway.

Great concept but execution was only soso for the price. A disappointment! We long for a Kestes on the UWS.

Seems I’m not the only one on here Unilocaling about prices. They should really post their prices as it varies greatly. Otherwise you’ve ordered and a little shocked at the total. Everything looked good, and surely one isn’t going to ask prices on 8 different pizza slices until our total came to $ 25 for 4 slices! Just post the prices, anywhere so there’s no confusion. Great pizza, but be warned if you’re looking for a cheap slice.

A little pricey, but great variety in their pizza and really tasty. Great spot to pick up from if you’re having a big party since there are so many different flavors. It’s not mind blowing, but very good.

This place has made me change my rule about giving EVERY restaurant a second chance. There’s no way Farinella can redeem itself. It’s also a great ad for If I had checked Unilocal first, I would have skipped it. Silly me. I overlooked the ridiculously high prices and the miniscule seating area and prepared for a gourmet experience. What I got instead was a large, bland slice of boring. At Farinella, large portion size is a bad thing. Who wants a lot of something awful? The sauce was flavorless, the crust was not crisp but brittle like something stale that was dried out in an oven. YECCH! Please skip this place. There’s just no reason for it to exist.

Extremely dissappointing and beyond expensive for a slice… a Meatball slice was $ 10.80! They guy in the pasta hat gives a whole song and dance about all the natural ingredients, no sugar, blah blah blah and how their prices just went up from their suppliers… R they kidding? The pizza was ok but I have had way better… walk a few blocks and you can get 2 slices and a soda for less than half!

It’s cute, the service is friendly, and I appreciate the effort. However, the pizza just isn’t that good. The crust is fine — thin and crunchy — but the toppings had no flavor at all(I’m including the tomato sauce and cheese here). I don’t think this can be attributed to the fact that Farinella is «Roma style» pizza — Romans, AFAIK, want flavor. My only question is to wonder whether Farinella pales in comparison to NY pizza because it lacks unhealthy ingredients(sugar? salt? additives?). Don’t know whether this is the case. I was also really put off by the fact that for $ 2 a bottle, you get the miniature 8.5 oz bottle of coke(or diet coke or sprite). Is the cost differential between the 8.5 oz bottle and 12 oz can that significant?

When this place first opened this past fall, it was a great discovery for this neighborhood. It’s the closest thing to real Italian pizza on the UWS, not your typical NYC cheese slice which I appreciated. Also, not cheap but worth the occasional splurge. Tonight, I decided to stop by and get two ‘slices’(Caprese and Capricciosa). What used to come to $ 12 was now $ 16 plus. The price of the Capricciosa went from $ 6 to $ 9. Which amounts to a 50% increase in price. Increasing this already high price for pizza over a several years– OK, I can work with the increase in the price of ingredients even though this is already a pretty ridiculous price for pizza. But increasing the price this much when the place has only been open a few months? Gratuitously obscene. Sorry to say, that I won’t be coming back. Which is too bad since the staff that works there is really fantastic and super sweet. And the pizza’s good, but it isn’t that good. I hope the owner at least gave them a pay increase with the increase of the pizza prices. Also hoping the staff pay raise equaled that 50% price increase.

$ 7.20 for a sausage slice took me back– I grew up here when it was $ 1.50, now $ 3 or so for a quick meal on the go. So I almost left but figured I’d try it: it was damn good and definitely bigger than your typical Grandma slice. I MAY go back but definitely not too often for $ 7.20, though…

This place was so disappointing. We went for a slice of pizza and one slice was $ 7! They hardly had any options and they told us that it was because it was late– ok, understandable. But they let us buy our slice and then 5 minutes later announced that they were closing and everyone needed to leave. The WORST way to run a business! You should NEVER kick out your customers. Ever. This place left a terrible taste in my mouth. Pizza was mediocre at best. I don’t see this place lasting long at all.

The pizza is great and I would not expect to get good pizza for less than the price I paid. Finally a good slice of real Italian pizza in the neighborhood!

It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either. I should have ordered a slice with some more flavor but the one I had wasn’t bad. I agree it could use a little bit more taste to it and it is a bit expensive for what you get. Staff was nice and trying really hard to make the first day great. I hope this place does well and the pizza gets a bit better with it.

This place is going to get hammered over its prices. It’s by far the most expensive slice joint I’ve ever seen. Tried the Boscaiola with sausage, smoked provolone, mozz and mushroom, which was $ 7.10 with tax — for one slice. It’s a sizable slice, mind you, and apparently they use some fancy-pants flour and organic produce, but the pizza overall just seems fine — maybe a little better than average, but nothing more than that, and certainly not as special as its cost would have you believe.

The staff is nice but the pizza just isn’t good. It’s bland. And it’s overpriced. My husband and I had a rectangle each of POC and prosciutto(two small square slices of each) and it cost us over $ 12. For my money, I’d go to Little Italy on Amsterdam just below 71st.
