Found this on Unilocal looking for good pizza in the neighborhood on vaca.. Was not disappointed! On our family’s 10 day NY vaca.. This was hands down our best pizza experience. I dream of this pizza! Friendly staff Diffrence choices No seating, crowded to order, felt rushed but worth it for pizza

Great pizza. The key was good toppings. Plus the guy who was working the register was patient with us non-New Yorkers who didn’t know what to order. Key if you are a tourist.

I don’t know if it was just the particular night we went, but they barely had anything ready and it didn’t sound like there was anything else going to be made for the time being although they were to be open for another 4 hours… Very strange. Otherwise, we had the Thai Slice and a plain cheese slice. The Thai had a peanut sauce, chicken, onions, cilantro, and red pepper flakes. It was a little too spicy and almost tasted like buffalo chicken(which is what we originally wanted). The cheese slice was good, but not $ 2.75 good. Better than a dollar slice. I think it’s sweet price point would be $ 1.50−2.00. I probably wouldn’t come back again. Can’t predict what slices they’d have ready.

Good pizza. We got a plain and Thai chicken slice. They were completely out of any other meat options. That was a little surprising, since it was about 7pm, so they were still quite a few hours away from closing. The small establishment did seem rather busy though. I originally wanted to try the buffalo chicken slice, but the Thai Chicken kind of tastes like Buffalo Chicken with cilantro & red onions. Nice & spicy. The plain slice was decent. It made me feel a little nostalgic as it reminded me of all the pizza parties as a child. You know the pizzas with very thin crust and cheese that doesn’t pull away from the crust. Both are not bad. You can also make a reservation, although I don’t know why you would need to do that for a quick slice. Also, if you plan to pay with card, it is a $ 10 minimum.

Walked in and could barely see the options for slices. Got 3 pieces to go and they were ok. There are so many better options in NY. If your hungry this will fill you up but won’t be as good as others.

Had an great white pizza delivered last night. Not exactly a ton of great pizza places in the UWS but I think this one is my current favorite of all I’ve tried. They warned me it would take an hour for delivery but we were good to wait and the delivery guy was right on time. This is our new go to for pizza delivery.

Fantastic pizza, friendly service, clean, fair prices. Good selection. The pizza is just as a NYC pizza should be. Crispy thin crust. Limited seating on the inside though.

They have unique flavored and toppings. My wife and I tried 4 different slices and they were all delicious. I’ll be going back here for sure.

Right by Trader Joe’s which was convenient for me. Grabbed a slice before food shopping. Small(literally 4 small tables) so not ideal for big groups and I can imagine not even ideal for one person if they are busy. I had a buffalo chicken slice and regular slice. They had other really yummy specialty slices but didn’t seem as fresh so I opted for the buffalo chicken since I like spice in my life. Both slices were heated up to perfection when I told them to make them crispy. Regular slice was good but not the best. I actually enjoyed my buffalo chicken slice but felt they were really skimping on the chicken! Smh… so for that and being super, duper small they get a 3. I def would go back though… would like to try the wheat pizza w/various toppings amongst other ones. Also, I saw that they deliver for anyone in the area.

We found this place using the Unilocal app in desperate need for food after the Global Citizens Festival on the Great Lawn. My husband and I both went with plain slices and had totally different takes. I enjoyed my slice. It was large and cheesy. I thought the crust was nice and doughy without being too crispy. He thought his slice was too soggy. Not quite the 4 star experience we were expecting. I wouldn’t seek this place out but it does the trick if you are in the area and in need of a slice.

The place is very close to 4 stars. I would like to give 3.5 just because I have recently had really good pizza elsewhere so when I compare Freddie & Pepper to that, it falls a tad short. Great value though — really big slices for $ 4 each. Definitely worth a try. I strongly recommend

This establishment has me FUMING. I order 5 large pies salad tray whatever a large order LASTNIGHT. Confirming and going over the details making sure the gentleman on the phone KNOWS I was beyond worried to have a late delivery and will order from elsewhere if there will be time problems. 12 noon was the time. I order for doctor office, these people go on lunch at 12. Iits orchestrated in a way that people take turns and the doctor has a slot time to EATANDTHENSEEHISPATIENTS. No one has time to TWIDDLE THEIRTHUMBS and wait. 1210 I call, NO food. The guy says to me «OHSHOOTWEFORGOT» UH excuse me? Forgot? I placed the order last night? He then swore up and down by 1235 will be arrived 1240 I call and he says«it’s just leaving now» It’s 1255 now, no food. Who knows what’s going on… I’m Just livid. The pizza arrived an hour late. And did not taste bad at all! I will give them that. They did mess up on one pie but I think the guy heard enough of my screaming and they did make it 50% off. So the taste was totally decent the meat lovers was not cheap at all. Tons of meat and the veggie was loaded with veggies.

Finally got to have real NY pizza! It was pretty cheap for huge slices and each one was totally different than the other and so good– I even had one with avocado in it which I haven’t even had in California!

This place gets 5 stars for being different and standing out positively in a neighborhood with more variety in food choices than people! Their pizza is pretty good– they have some interesting toppings that don’t disappoint. But the real winner are their Chilean empanadas! Every month or so I order pizza and empanadas from these guys because not many delivery places that won’t blow the budget yet are«different».

We headed into Freddie & Pepper’s for a quick, inexpensive bite to eat before seeing Shakespeare in the Park. We saw the great reviews on Unilocal, which was why we stopped in. I got a slice of chicken vodka, and he went with a slice of BBQ chicken with jalapenos. At first bite, mine seemed pretty bland. Then I tried a bite of the BBQ chicken and loved it. I went back to my own piece, and it somehow seemed more flavorful the more I ate. We both enjoyed our slices and would recommend it to others! Just a note, on a Friday evening, the place was crawling with soccer kiddos – a practice of game must have just ended nearby.

Don’t come here with high expectations because you will be disappointed. Come here for a decent pie and you’ll do just fine. — The regular cheese pie is okay(definitely not worth the 4 stars). — Stay away from the Margherita pie — The place is quite small, not clean This place is good to grab a pie when you’re hungry and in a rush.

Solid pizza. A little overpriced, considering pizza is 99 cents elsewhere, but I am trusting that my extra $ 3.01 is going to a) a living wage or b) better ingredients or c) I don’t know. It’s good. And just get one slice… not two… one is enough.

Such a great hole-in-the wall neighborhood pizza joint that now offers amazing vegan and gluten free options. I gave it 4 stars before as it isn’t very clean inside, but in the end it kind of adds to its charm. The staff is always nice and they are constantly working hard. Definitely one of the best pizza joint in the city.

I love pizza, I have probably said this many times before. And I loved the pizza at Freddie & Pepper’s. We were on our way to a museum but needed lunch first, Unilocal led me here. Yay, cheap fast lunch win! Wasn’t too hard to find or too far out of our way. Entrance leads you downstairs to a fairly small ordering and seating area. Definitely a bit cramped near the register but it doesn’t take too long to decide on pizza flavors. I really appreciate that they had most of their pizzas labeled so we knew what the combination was. The few that weren’t we were able to ask about and the staff was friendly and efficient. They offer quite a variety including different crusts and sauces, price was right for all. All tasted great. There is seating available but not a ton. I did not see it ever get completely full while we were there. They have cooler cases of bottled and canned soda. All in all, it isn’t fancy but it is a perfect quick meal if you are craving some delicious NY style pizza.
