Why are small local businesses failing? Because of places like Amaryllis Florist that don’t understand that the reality of the marketplace means that if you want people to patronize your store more than once, you have to offer something that the chain stores don’t: friendly, personalized service. Instead, Amaryllis offers rotten customer service — the only«help» was an attempt to upsell from daisies to roses — and terrible value. Gerbera daisies were $ 25 for a half-dozen, yes, for DAISIES, alone in a twist of cellophane, no greenery, no ribbon, no «thank you,» nothing. The Trader Joe’s diagonally across the intersection is an insanely crowded chain store, but the employees won’t rip you off AND will treat you like a person — run, don’t walk.

I walked in off the street, asked what was the most fragrant flowers they had, was pointed to a nice selection, the suggestion was no the most expensive, nor the largest and turned out to be the most wonderful and well received gift. Quick, courteous, helpful and reasonable, what else could I ask for?

Very des appointed with their service and will never use them again.
