We stayed near this location, and asked our front desk for«the best slice of pizza in this area.» She referred us somewhere else that we couldn’t find, so we stopped in at Famiglia’s. And boy were we happy we did. We ate here several times throughout our weekend trip. My husband would have had a slice every two hours if he could have. The pizza was delicious, the service is standard NYC(a little blunt, but funny), and it’s quick. One negative thing: Don’t waste your time on the«breadstick balls»(not sure exactly what they’re called). They weren’t nearly as good as they looked. Stick with the pizza!

I popped in here one afternoon, as I was walking through the neighborhood and looking for a spot without a crazy line. This place is ok, not great by non-New York standards and bad by New York standards– after all this is a city known for its pizza. Luckily for this business, I’m not a New Yorker so I’m evaluating based on Virginia pizza standards. The cheese pizza was good. A bit on the greasy side, but the sauce was real and the crust was delicious. The cheesy garlic knots were terrible. Not inedible but not great– too garlicky and the cheese wasn’t spread evenly and it was all stuck to the tinfoil. This place could be good, but they should serve larger slices for the price, and redo the garlic knots.

Pizza was expensive and the service was terrible. If you get to-go slices, you cannot sit down at all, not even at stools that are along a wall. My friend and I came in to order 2 slices each. The guys working with the pizza oven took our orders and happened to put our slices in one box, slices all on top of the others. So, I asked that the orders be split into to separate boxes– that sent the order filler over the edge! The guy starts audibly complaining about my request to one of his coworkers all while pointing and leering at me and my friend. He put on a whole show– loudly complaining, pointing, dramatically opening and closing pizza boxes(could have been a show on Broadway). Because neither my friend nor I were moved by his performance, he tells us to go ahead and pay– despite not having given us our pizza still. I told him no, I’ll wait til we get our food and then he started with the theatrics again. As if he was pained to move two pieces of pizza from one box to another… We finally got our pizza with a smile from the order filler(that’s sarcasm) and we paid. I’m giving 2 stars because the pizza tasted alright but the service was deplorable. If you want average pizza and a theatrical performance(read: bad customer service), this is the place to go!

Not sure what they’re «famous» for — maybe their grease? Busy Times Squareish pizzeria. About average NYC slice — meaning not the best, but far from the worst(and there are differences for the ones who think all pizza slices are created equal and for those who think just because a pizzeria is in NYC, that it automatically means it’s good). Cost $ 13.90 for 3 pepperoni slices and a large drink which is sadly a norm now. Even outside overpriced Manhattan it’s about $ 3+ for a slice which is sad and makes me miss the old days where you could find a quality slice for about a $ 1 or under. About what you’d expect for a pizzeria around Times Square — small, busy, pricey… etc. Pretty clean inside and there are limited tables to sit at if you’re lucky enough to nab one. Staff was pretty nice. My slices were ok for what they were — I’ve comes to expect blah these days, but they weren’t bad even with the excessive grease on each slice and the fact they fell apart before I could take a bite. I feel for out of towners who think because a place is called«famous» and in NYC, that it means that this is how pizza is supposed to taste. Believe me, it’s not. This is barely average… on it’s best day. Really, you could do a lot worse in the midtown area — so if you’re in the area and want an average, greasy slice for a high price, this is a safe bet. Just don’t expect anything more than average.

Really don’t know why i came here. Could I have been that desperate? Pizza is pretty gross, and if you go late enough, some of the slices are really old.

I am a regular at this Famous Famiglia restaurant and I absolutely love it! The pizza never disappoints and is always perfect for a quick bite to eat. The price for a cheese slice is definitely worth it, just $ 2.95. I would recommend the buffalo chicken slice, and you could never go wrong with the garlic knots. An order of them is only a $ 1, which is a great price for food so close to Times Square. The staff always greets me with a smile and it’s always easy to leave with one on after each meal!

Pizza was good but overpriced … one cheese slice and one pepperoni slice was over $ 6.00!

Downgrade. I was bummed to see the Famous Famiglia on Broadway had closed, since that was my go-to New York pizza spot. So I hoofed it to 8th Ave and this location. My slice was ancient. After being reheated, the crust shattered apart into dry shards of bread the moment my teeth bit down. I’m really, really sad at what’s happened to the quality of this pizza joint. Seek your slice elsewhere, my friends.

This is probably the worst pizza I had in NYC. I regret not checking Unilocal, but I went there with my husband, because it was conveniently close to the Westin, and we were hungry. We had the plain cheese slice, and still it was bland considering how hungry we were. I almost feel like those pictures of celebrities should come off the wall, because it is an insult to their taste buds. On top of the bad pizza, the service is horrendous. The older guy, who I hope is not the owner, insisted that we get the Stromboli, even though we said we did not want Stromboli! We ordered, and he yelled at us…“guys, move to the end!” I’m assuming that meant to the end of the bar? It was confusing, because the place was empty. Then he yelled at us to grab our pizza, which he placed on the opposite end of where we were standing, after he put them on plates… when we asked for them«to go». I can’t even explain how rude he was, without actually reenacting his tone. In the end of this story, I will never come back. The 99 cent pizza place is so much better and every Ray pizza place, or just any pizza place. Don’t waste your time, and take a few more steps to avoid this sad place.

Their pizza and garlic knots never disappoint. I’ve had their food in San Diego and now NYC. They are consistently good. Convenient tables to sit down and enjoy. Restroom available for paying patrons, but it needs a lot of maintenance.

Honestly it’s not the worst pizza in the world. I feel bad saying it but it’s actually kind of ok. I was just going to grab a slice at the $.99 place across the street but my friend was being annoying and wanted to sit down. Crust was decently crispy and the pizza was hot. Cheese and sauce tasted decent. I’d say it’s slightly better than 2 Bros. The dude behind the counter was a bit of a prick.

Ehhhh… So New York pizza is world renowned, supposed to be thin and crispy. This restaurant was thin, but not always crispy… Came here twice in 2 days– first time it was decent enough– second time the pizza did not even taste heated– though the taste was always fine, the restaurant only gets two stars because compared to any other local pizza shop this place falls short at doing the only thing it’s supposed to do right. Calzone was pretty good– again wasn’t very hot– but hit the taste buds pleasantly. For its quality– I think the pizza is over priced– even for NYC. Seemed clean enough. Probably will try other pizza parlors.

Rule of 101 in pizza… If you fold the pizza in half and it holds it shape… THENTHATSWHATYOUCALL A PIZZA! I grew up eating that type of slice… Sadly these saggers can’t hold its own. Some may think. That’s a good thing! Cause of the toppings and such! I don’t mind the heavy set of toppings… but at least have a bit of crisp on the bread… The dough was doughy… and for 2 slices for like 12 $ was bit steep. But this was in Time Sq. Most tourist will have to pay for this kind of prices for the semi good quality. Down the stars for over price, parking, and soggy bread.

I had a slice of Sicilian pizza here some time ago. My friend would had liked it since he doesn’t like slices that are too«doughy.» Unfortunately, that’s how I like them. It’s a good place when in Times Square for a quick bite. It may be hard to find seating with so many tourists in the vacinity.

I am only writing this review to save some hungry soul that walks by this pizza joint. Please, don’t waste your money, time, or appetite on this sorry pizza. I wish I had taken my advice. In a hungry, desperate state for a slice of pizza I walked into this place and chose a «premium» slice that cost me $ 5. They didn’t even allow this poor, old, wilted piece of pizza time to properly warm up. No, it was dead on arrival. Even if your stomach is growling, like mine was, pass this place up and don’t look back. You’ll thank me later!

It’s definitely not better than my old Famiglia spot on 8th and 34th. But a container full of chicken parm for only $ 10 is a good deal especially since it feeds me for three meals! The food itself was ok… the chicken as mostly breading, it’s nice that they cut up the chicken to get full distribution throughout the dish but they cut up the chicken really small that I got chucks of breading with no chicken. Eh… The customer service isn’t as great but you are in Time Square… so how much can you really expect? Must find a better fast Italian lunch pick up spot.

Here are three reasons you might be at the corner of 42nd and 8th, in need of food: 1. Your bus from Port Authority is in 45 minutes. Somehow the ticket printing machines weren’t broken and you have a six hour bus ride to visit Aunt Florence in Plattsburg. 2. You and Aunt Florence just finished waiting at the TKTS and have half an hour before a performance of «Mary Poppins.» 3. Aunt Florence is staying at the Marriott Marquis and wants to meet you after dinner. She wants«authentic New York food» but only wants to walk two blocks. Here are three places you should go to avoid the tasteless, dry excuse for«pizza» that’s being served at Famous Famiglia: 1. Tabata Noodle, a ramen place solidly in the City’s top ten 2. Cuisine Of Pakistan, serving a mean meat plate with a huge piece of crispy bread with a great selection of Pakistani video tapes 3. 2 Bros Pizza, which is one-third the price and definitely better than this crap There. Now no one has to come here.

We were on a limited schedule since we had to go to the airport. Although this is a chain restaurant, it fit our needs for a quick bite to eat. It was very close to our hotel and had no wait. They have several pies, and we went with the cheese and margherita. They were warmed up and we were able to eat within minutes. The only marginal downside was the upselling. But we left with our bellies full and caught the next subway no problem. Yay!

Fast food pizza by the slice, just drop in and grab a slice, the combo was good and the pepperoni with mushrooms, just remember to use lots of napkins for dabbing(no need to have the extra heart clogging grease).

Why the hell are there so many celebs on the wall? Have they actually eaten here? Not sure why Famiglia doesn’t have better reviews. Besides the annoying tourists, the pizza is slammin’. I’m not a fan of chains, but the pizza is always fresh and always good. I really have never had any issues here. Now about those annoying tourists…
