Delicious pizza that’s light on the wallet but tasty on the pallet. Usually grab a slice on my way to catch the NJ bus home.

My favorite dollar pizza joint. It’s right down the street from port authority — a lot of foot traffic here so there’s usually always a fresh pie being made and served. Place is a bit cramped when busy — best to grab and go but there are some window stalls to stand and eat at.

Cheap pizza but be careful… The only 99¢ pizza seemed to be the cheese pizza. All the other pizza was $ 2+ If you’re looking for something quick then this place is ok. Reminded me of pizza at little Caesar’s

99 Cents Fresh Pizza was one of the pioneers if not the pioneer for $ 1 pizzas in NYC. Charging a penny over what it’s name suggests, it’s still so cheap that unless you are the tightest of tight wads, almost no one would be bothered with that slight discrepancy. From what I gathered, this location is about a block or two from their very first shop of their franchise, which for years had fed weary and hungry travels from the Port Authority Bus Terminal late into the night. That location was only a window selling pizza out to the streets. This newer location have proper tables and seats for those that need to eat in. As with most of these shops they also have a combo deal of $ 2.75 for 2 slices and a canned soda. The price of what some pizza shops sell a plain slice for. Every topping is an extra 50 cents a slice. The slices here are a bit smaller than what a full priced pizzeria would give and usually a tad smaller than even what its main $ 1 rival, 2Bros Pizza would provide too. While on the subject of 2Bros Pizza vs this place, I find that I prefer the pizzas at 2Bros more but only by the slightest of margins. They are both good pizzas, especially considering the price but I find that the pizzas at 99 Cents Fresh Pizza to be softer where the dough is, preferring the slightly more flakier and chewier crust found at 2Bros and some of its competion. Mozzarella is a little on the thin side, but that is the norm for most of these $ 1 pizzas. In a city where everything is so expensive, it’s nice to know we have a bargain that can’t be found anywhere else.

Fantastic! Cheap, fresh, deliciously crunchy yet still fluffy crust :) YUM! $ 2.75 for two slices of one-topping pizza and a can of pop/bottled water(to wash down that tasty salty pizza). NOTE: this pizza joint is about a block west of where it’s listed on Unilocal. At the corner of 42nd and 9th. If you wander into the Villa pizza food-court style, you are in the WRONGPLACE! You will pay too much money for average pizza. Keep going an you’ll hit the green awning! Enjoy!

I stopped in here after a show just for a quick bite to hold me over. Man was I surprised! For 99 cents, I put this at the best pizza in «taste-per-cent» ratio. :) Obviously not the best in NY, but for the price, it is top notch.

Is it good because it’s good? Or is it good because it’s cheap? Good pizza for only $ 1. They are open late. This is the classic New York style pizza. Big, cheap, and foldable. I like the pizza here more than the pizza at Grimaldi’s. :) But maybe because there was no wait and because it was cheaper.

OMG… get the pepperoni for an extra 50 cents and you won’t be dissappointed. Sure it’s greasy, but ur eating a pizza, so the calories are already there. Just sprinkle the herb blend, parmesan cheese and pepper flakes and it’s all good. Best pizza i’ve had in nyc and i’ve tried a few places like Rays, and Famiglia. I think it’s extra good b/c it’s fresh, made in minutes, and come out hot and crispy unlike the ones that have been sitting out forever and are just rewarmed in the oven. they’re busy, so new pizza’s are popping out by the minute! Extra tasty esp the pepperoni! Only got 4 stars b/c of the shady people in that area at night. Food was better than some fancy places i went to eat at during the rest of my 5 day weekend in NYC!

So every once and a while I travel from Providence to Manhattan through the Port Authority, and the first thing that I do when I get off the bus is proceed to find myself some NY pizza. One of my favorite 99 cent pizza places, not the best pizza every but hey for 99 cents its pretty top notch. Also fresh and tasty making it a great place for a quick bite.

Water and 2 cheese slices for $ 2.75. Can’t beat the value, but the quality is subpar. The clientele is sketchy and the atmosphere is lacking. So, basically, the price is the only good thing here, which is why it gets a 2 star.

In the ever increasing world of $ 1 pizza joints(seems everyone is trying to offer a $ 1 slice now esp after 2 Bros), I’d say 99 Cent Fresh Pizza(multiple locations) is about average. I go here on rare occasion but when I do it almost always coincides with post drunk munchies before I pass out to sleep at 4am as I live in the apartment condo right next to it. I typically find myself in line with other customers from what appears to be all walks of life as I dig into my jeans looking for quarters to buy a slice. First slice I had a year ago seemed pretty good but after sampling several of the other $ 1 places in NY my thoughts are — its slightly doughy feel… think the crust is too soft(I prefer crisper crusts). But hey its a $ 1 so I’m not complaining. I dust it generously with garlic powder, parmesan and italian seasoning, and you know it turns out to be a semi-decent slice. But if I had the choice I’d rather go to 2 Bros(on 40th st) which IMO has a better tasting $ 1 slice. But being too lazy I prefer not walking the 2 blocks and just pound my $ 1 slice here. Sometimes there is a line to wait for a new pie, but these dudes are cranking a new pie out of the oven like every few minutes so you won’t wait long.

With 2 other dollar pizza spots in the same area this one stands out from the rest. Sure 2 Bros. has a bigger $ 1 pizza but it bland and the the cheese and sauce taste pretty bad but you put up with it cause it’s a dollar. Sure 99 cent fresh is the original before $ 1 pizza craze caught on but their dough SUCKS!.. 99cent Fresh Villa Pizza Café has the best slice overall. If you havent tried a slice with parmesan and hot sauce then you’re just missing out.

Dollar slices, friendly service, relatively large seating/standing area for the category. I think the slices are better than the nearby competition. Load it up with hot sauce, grated cheese, and pepper flakes for best results. I’m not sure who gets ice cream here.

Best dollar slice in the ‘hood. The pizza isn’t too saucy and the crust is crispy. Yum.

Normally I’d say there isn’t much to complain about when you’re getting slices for a buck, but this place being in such close proximity of 2 other dollar slice joints, I’m going to go ahead and give them the thumbs down… Bland and flavorless, just not a good slice. Go to 2 Bros or 99 cents fresh pizza, both just down the avenue instead.

$ 1 cheese pizza slices. $.60 for mcdonalds style ice cream cone. A guy in a purple pimp suit walked in with a metal cart… containing 3BUNNIES, who were peeping over the edge of the cart. Totally made my already good and drunken night.

Came here again and pick up a slice to catch my bus at Port Authority. I arrived before 1 and there was a line at the counter. The pizza pies are coming right out of the oven. The annoying thing was people were trying to cut get to the front of the counter to get their slice and nobody has ever heard of forming a line. People were getting two slices. I looked at the pizza pies and some of the slices had more cheese than others. You have to request a brown paper bag if you are taking out. I just opt to take the extra, cheapest and thinnest paper plates known to man to cover my slice to go. As I ate my slice on the bus, I notice the paper plate covering the slice soaked up all the grease. Nice, but I don’t want to touch the plate. The taste of the pizza is great but this time it is a bit more oily due to the extra cheese. It still tasted good! The price is right for their slices. It is better than really bad pizza slices that I had before. One good thing about 99 pizza slices is there a new fresh batch coming out of the oven.

After two attempts, I’ve had more than my fill — the pizza is no better here than the other 99 Cent Fresh across the avenue, and in my opinion it’s grossly inferior to 2 Bros two blocks down… The only thing this place has going in its favor is, of course, that it’s dirt cheap, and that they actually have seating — but the employees are really rude, so from now on I’l just take my business elsewhere.
