I ate a slice of pep at Di Napoli then I had one at Cassanos down the street. I have to say I like Cassanos better although the difference wasn’t huge. Their sauce had more flavor, their crust had more the if the texture/crisp/chew I was looking for, but it was a bit sweeter than Di Napoli. Di Napoli is cheaper for a slice($ 3.25 to $ 4). Neither were a bad slice, but neither were amazing, just good and quick.

Their pepperoni pizza is the best I’ve had. Their dough is always fresh. The toppings of their pizza don’t slide off. They handle a crowd very well.

Crust is good, but squirting sweet chili sauce on top of a chicken parm slice is NOT buffalo chicken… I have been fleeced. Like who does that?!

As a true new yorker, of course I got a plain slice. It was slightly crunchy but lacking a bit of tomato sauce. Wasn’t terrible but it shares the same qualities of many of dollar slice spots. Just eh

The slice tonight was not bad, sausage and pepperoni was tasty, a crust that was not hard and dry, and the sauce was actually flavorful. Perhaps as or was the evening, the place was mostly empty, and not during the midday rush. A not bad choice among the mediocre pizza places in the area.

My wife and I were basically three sheets to the wind when we came in but it was pretty great pizza and excellent service. If you’re craving pizza and at least a little buzzed you should go.

This place embodies the spirit of New York pizza. It’s always delicious and fairly priced, and the restaurant is extremely clean and well-appointed. I would recommend it to anyone!

Terrific little pizza joint in Midtown East. The concierge of our hotel recommended D’Napoli, and I have to say he was«spot on». Very good service, even making pleasant chitchat with my 6-year old(the person behind my search for«good NY-style pizza»). When I told him about it being my son’s first time, he told me to take a Coke out of the refrigerator and give it to my son for his meal. Great pizza, nice a crisp crust with bubbling cheese and pepperoni that had that«just right bite» to it. Next time I’m here, I’m coming back.

I dont think giving 3 or 4 stars comparatively based on the absolute best pizza you’ve had in the city is unfair. I think you have to put the review in context and consider the location and etc to give the rating it deserves. Midtown east is notorious for horrible pizza. Bunch of knockoff names and one dollar pizzas(LES probably has more dollar pizza offerings near grand central). It’s either that, pizzas are ridiculously overpriced for insipid slices… I can honestly say that I’ve been to every midtown east pizza joint between 59th and 34th on the lexington, 3rd ave corridors(some 40 or pizza joints — not counting one stop deli shops that sell all types of food under the sun). Based on my experience, out of all the parlors that sell by the slice, I think D. Napoli offers one of the best tasting pizza slice midst of all the high-rise office towers that dominate eastern half of midtown. Their sauce is unique as well as their crust. So give it a try!

Ran in here bc I was in a rush and this place is directly across the street from work. Ordered two specialty slices, I think chicken was one and their margherita was the other. The margherita was just OK. Wasn’t a fan of the sauce or the crust and it was slightly greasy. The chicken was even worse. Someone on here mentioned that their pizza tasted like soap and, this one did too. Ended up tossing half of each slice out and was still hungry. Head up one block to the pizza there. Much better!

From the moment I saw the pizza I knew it was going to be good. My date asked me how I knew and just based on the cheese to sauce ratio I knew that this was an authentic NY slice. For those not from the area, their plain slice looks like it could be white pizza anywhere but here lies in the trick. The top layer of the slice encompasses the majority of the cheese whereas the sauce is not as visible, slightly hidden below. The dough has some sweetness and complements the sauce quite well. There is no issue with too much greasiness and all and all I wasn’t expecting such great NY pizza. The guy behind the counter also gives out complementary garlic knots which is a nice touch, but they tasted like hollow dough balls with traces of garlic. But since it was free and the pizza was so damn good, I didn’t even bother finishing it even though I’m a garlic fiend. The workers were friendly folks and it was a rah-rah free zone. Late night slice approved.

Great deal! Two cheese slices and a drink for $ 6. You don’t suffer on quality at all. I’ve now been to three places in New York. It’s been great. All three have been good for its own reasons.

The pizza here is good, but not awesome. They’ve got a lunch special for $ 5.50+tax which includes 2 plain slices and a can of soda. There’s a good amount of seating and in the summertime it’s great because you want to stay nice and cool when having lunch. A small TV is up at the front, near the entrance/exit so you can watch the news. I haven’t been by in a while, but would go back if I’m heading in that direction for lunch.

Food would amount to 3-stars, but the extra star was for the nice guys who work here. My office is literally attached to this place and I never thought the short trip downstairs would lead me to one of the cheapest tastiest chicken parm heroes I’ve ever had! For only $ 6 you get a huuuuge piping hot hero filled with breaded chicken, cheese, and a surprisingly flavorful marinara sauce. They burn the bread a little at times but it’s still really good! The pizza is just typical New York pizza.
