My favorites are chicken lo main Wings general tsos and the iced tea. Great not too greasy and I love the service. They still don’t deliver but I think it’s because of staffing. Get low salt options and bring your own recycled containers if possible

This is my go to Chinese take out spot in the neighborhood. I’ve tested out a few other places, but this is the best I’ve had and luckily it’s also the closest. The food is good, and less greasy than other places I have been to. In other words, you don’t feel disgusting after your meal. They have a great selection and I have never ordered anything and been disappointed. If you want to try something different and a little healthier, try the shrimp and green beans with garlic sauce. It’s very tasty. The tofu dishes are great as well. Note: They are cash only and I’m pretty sure they do not offer delivery.

Well this was a total Unilocal FAIL. It’s clear that the people giving this place good reviews have given up hope of good Chinese in central Harlem and have lowered their standards to frozen TV dinner quality food. I ordered lo mein and dumplings tonight. Blech. Both were completely bland. The noodles had no flavor at all, and even though the dumplings looked perfectly cooked, they were tasteless. After just a few bites, I threw both away and ordered sushi from Ozen. It’s one and done for me and crispy bamboo.

I went to Crispy Bamboo Village unaware that it was take-out only, but I was more than happy when we got home and ate a delicious smörgåsbord of Chinese delights. We had the fried chicken wings which were crispy(as the name of the restaurant promises) and moist. The fried pork dumplings were seasoned well but the plum sauce was a little sweeter than I am used to. I tried something new(not typical of anyone who has had the same Chinese food order for the past 23 years) seafood chow how fun. The noodles were cooked well, but they stuck together which made it kind of difficult to eat. They did not skimp on the seafood either which is always a plus at any place. My boyfriend got sweet and sour chicken with white rice, a staple in any Chinese food order. The breading was light and it was perfectly golden brown. I will definitely stroll back into this village of crispy happiness.

From the moment I heard the name of this restaurant I was entranced. I immediately called to place an order for the chicken Almond thing. Impressive was the fact that they were open on Easter Sunday. I still haven’t actually walked around the corner to pick up my order but I’m sure it will be great. With a name like crispy bamboo Village how could you go wrong?

Best chinese food option for the area. They are quick, as clean as it gets and not greasy! Flavor is spot on and that goes for the vegetable and tofu dishes as well. Call ahead to get your food faster as everyone knows this is the best option so it tends to get packed.

I personally love this place. Some other Unilocaler said something about the crispy tofu and I have to second that emotion. The chow mee fun is also delicious and doesn’t taste too greasy. Total greasy spoon chinese but honestly, were you surprised? Word to the wise, I’ve never been to this place when it wasn’t packed but they move pretty quick.

Love this place! Friendly staff. Quick service. God knows how much crisco they use, but I love ‘em for it. I love Szechuan chicken, so that’s the only thing I’ve had here. Moist chicken, flavorful sauce. Fried rice is great mixed in(it’s eh on its own). The only thing is that the egg rolls are just meh. But I still go back every week for Szechuan chicken!

Awesome place, you can eat deep fried things and you can eat steamed things! There is a lot of food traffic here for a reason. I took off one star because the lobster sauce seemed uncooked… everything else is near perfect. and cheap!

Steamed dumplings and egg rolls are good. Sweet and sour chic was ok and the fried rice was gross. Not many veg options for my hubby either. All in all, it was alright. They give u a free soda which is nice.

While many of the claims of this being phenomenal Chinese food should be met with EXTREME skepticism about whether the author of such audacious claims has ever actually ate Chinese American food are legitimate. The food is decent. The operators are courteous and the most importantly the shop is clean. Decent food. Probably the best in the neighborhood – which doesn’t exactly make it good.

If you were expecting authentic Szechuan cuisine, really? I live in Harlem and that means I have grown accustomed to the bullet proof glass and people hanging out. This place has granite floors and a place to sit, that makes it real nice. They specialize in greasy American style Chinese food. The name does start with Crispy. The pork fried dumplings are the best you’ll find within blocks of house. The lo mien is great. The chicken is like the chicken in every other Chinese food place, It has a funky texture. If you want something with meat in it get it fried. If you a crazy ex-vegan like me get the crispy fried tofu. It comes on top of steamed broccoli with sauce on the side so the tofu is still crispy when you get home. It’s an experience I thoroughly enjoy, sitting there watching people order every variation of chicken wings. No one will beg for money. You wont get sick. When my boyfriend is out of town this is my go to place.

To compare it with the rest of the Chinese takeout in Harlem this place is decent. Its clean for a Chinese takeout in Harlem. Its safe for a Chinese takeout in Harlem. Plus you can see how they are preparing the food. Downside is they dont deliver.

I honestly like this place. The food is always very good and very tasty. Compared to that crappy place on Adam between 131st and 132nd(I’m not calling any names), this place is a Godsend. The hostess is always nice. Just remember, they do not deliver and they do not take debit or credit cards. But this is my go to Chinese restaurant. When I move, I have to do my research all over again. Bummmerrrr!!!

I was warned off the Chinese take out options around my block in Harlem, and heeded that advice for a long time. Today, I broke. I judge take out Chinese food on two things: shrimp fried rice and spring rolls. They are one of my go-to I feel crappy and need a pick me up food. Crispy Bamboo Village is the best option in the area, by far. They don’t deliver, which is a bummer, but they are always busy at lunchtime and the kitchen is very clean and organized looking. Which really, are two very good signs compared to the other places in the vicinity. The spring roll could have been cooked for maybe 30 seconds longer to brown it up more, but the filling was hearty. Not just cabbage like at so many places. Mushrooms, etc. Yum. The shrimp fried rice was also totally decent. Not that weird Spanish rice/fried rice combo that I disappointingly find so often north of Chinatown. And none of it was too greasy! Totes. I’ll go back.
