Okay, so Nikko isn’t winning any awards for authenticity(they suspiciously serve foods from like 4 different Asian countries, which is always a bad sign). But I do like their prices(sushi is very reasonable). And their knock-off of Benihana hibachi is a little off, but tastes good in its own way.

This is a great place any night of the week. The hibachi is fun, but my fav is the Panang Curry Shrimp dish with fresh basil, fried tofu, coconut milk, string beans, bell peppers. This is my go to dish for sure. The staff is friendly and efficient. Wide selection of dishes that always taste of fresh ingredients. Reasonable pricing. Open dinning room that never seems overcrowded. The lighting give a relaxing mysterious feel to the dining room. If you are in the Morningside Height region of New York be sure to check out this place.

This is literally one of my fav places to go on the fly in the Harlem. If you haven’t been I suggest you go ! Aside from the occasional discrepancies I’d take anyone there that was willing to go. This applies mainly to the hibachi menu. Be really clear when you order so that you don’t have any mishaps because those happen wen they are really busy. Also I’ve had my food a little over cooked sometimes but I have yet to be run off from this place because I love hibachi so much ! I have no idea about their sushi but they have some of the best fried calamari in town Note: you get what you order do if you don’t know what you want inquire before you are disappointed and I don’t suggest ordering through third parties it’s meant to experience.

The food is absolutely delicious, and even though there have been a couple times when they forgot to include a sauce I’d ordered, or sent one that wasn’t full, they always make it right the next time I order if I mention it in the notes. Definitely my favorite place to order Pad Thai from!

Nikko is a great place to grab a quick lunch. They have sushi and all of the Americanized Chinese fare which are all pretty tasty. They also have hibachi but I have yet to experience that. There’s a good lunch special, both for sushi and more«traditional» Chinese American dishes. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go to this restaurant but it’s pretty good if you’re in the area.

I’ve eaten there twice, once when they cook right in front of you and that was so much fun. Our group had a blast but I’ve also ordered take out, a fried rice. My only complaint is the texture of their chicken is weird. I couldn’t eat it because it’s like gummy feeling and rubbery. Idk how to explain it but many Asian places have chicken texture like that, why!!! It put me off to eating the rice. So gross…

This review is only for sushi, never tried the hibachi. Been here with my girlfriend a bunch of times and it is a solid choice. We always off with the tuna pizza, it is tasty and looks cool. Then we order a couple rolls, favorite so far has been Perfect Match. There is another romantic sounding roll we enjoyed but can’t recall. The place itself is pretty nice. Well maintained dining room and clean bathrooms. Staff is attentive almost to the point of being annoying. Usually 3 or 4 different people approach the table to ask for drink/app orders. I can never really tell who my server is. One time they came to pick up the signed check about 30 seconds after it was dropped… a little over zealous. And the place was not even busy at that time so not sure what the rush was. Last time there was a group of adolescent girls celebrating a birthday and the guy who delivered bday cake blasted them all with the sake bottle… it was hilarious but also disturbing. In sum, this is a tried and true place for reasonably priced, acceptable quality sushi in a convenient location.

For all you seamless orderers … I gave this joint two stars only because it came promptly and the packaging was nice. Outside of that, the food was low quality, flavorless, and left me with the feeling I could vomit at any moment. So, I would not recommend ever ordering from here. The containers and delivery are worth about $ 7.00 and that’s what we should’ve paid instead of $ 45. Thank you.

I’m really surprised to se so many negative reviews. Although, I must say I ordered delivery through Seamless and did not visit the restaurant. I live in Hamilton Hts. and there aren’t really any sushi restaurants nearby that are easy to get to(going cross town is a NIGHTMARE.) So on a late Sunday night when I was feeling the stomach pangs for food and having a crazy craving for sushi I found this place on Seamless. I ordered a yellowtail and scallion roll, salmon roll, and spicy tuna, and striped bass sushi. I expected to be waiting a while, the wait time seemed a little exorbitant, but it arrived promptly, in about 30 minutes. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see that the rolls were substantial and the piece of sushi was gigantic. It was easily a large enough piece for two good sized pieces. The fish was fresh and the rolls were wrapped well. I wasn’t a fan of the spicy tuna, it was more tempura filler than fish, but I kinda expected it and decided to risk it anyway, so you know, you live and you learn. My only complaint is that they down include anything to put the soy sauce in, which kinda sucks because I like to the soy sauce ginger and wasabi. Other than that, no complaints and the price was unbeatable – 22, not including tip. I’ll definitely be ordering from them again!

I go here every year for my birthday. I love it! The hibachi is so much fun, although I’ll say that the«show» portion of it gets shorter every year. This place holds a special place in my heart, and the 3 roll lunch special holds a special place in my stomach. The atmosphere is a little out of place for the neighborhood, but I don’t mind it.

Its freeeeeeeeezing inside. They say its to balance out the heat from the hibachi table but zomg its sooooo cold! Dress accordingly. As for the show and the food, all good! I have a seafood allergy so my chicken fried rice was ordered separately since everything is cooked at the hibachi together. We went for my daughter’s birthday and the other family seated with us were also celebrating their child’s birthday. We all had a great time, cant wait to go back. It was super fun.

Hot spot in the cut. Unassuming. Looked crowded from the outside and the people waiting in the foyer. Low and behold, I asked for a table anyway and was seated right away. Looks were deceiving. Ordered the Out of Control roll. It took a minute but was worth the wait. That and top shelf liquor and Nikko’s is Boom! Go!

Cool spot, has an intimate feel. Drinks are pretty good and the prices are right. I recommend it if you like hibachi but don’t want to break the bank

My family & I a party of 6 dined here on a Saturday night. We opted for the hibachi experience since we were dinning with my 6 year old nephew :) we all had a great time; the food was good(although I felt they put too many sauces/butter/oil on everything but, overall, my family all enjoyed their meals plus our Chef was funny. The free sake shots while the Chef is cooking is a plus :) we will be returning here soon

too many items on the menu. It’s an asian diner. All the food is mediocre. I order from them from time to time. Easy asian fare, they have everything you can imagine. Which is their curse. They’d be better off to narrow down the menu and focus on a dozen really good dishes. Delivery is always fast and efficient.

I’m not a huge fan of Nikko. I think the food is merely mediocre and overpriced. I’ve gone here a few times and I’m never impressed or even all that satisfied by the food. Now, I will admit that their dessert choices, while expensive, are very tasty. I had the frozen coconut dessert and absolutely loved it. Now, with that all said, this one dessert is almost the same price as some entrees at other restaurants.

This was our secind visit within a week! Went here for the mister’s bday and did the habachi dinner. This by far exceeded my expectations and honestly was a better experience than Benihana. A combo habachi dinner was $ 25 a per person and the portions were big. I couldnt finish and filled my to go container up! I got the salmon and shrimp combo and he g9t the steak and chicken combo. The chef was very entertaining and put on a very good show for us! I read in a previous review that the chef tosses some vegetables one at a time until you catch it with your mouth and squirts sake on your mouth until you cant take anymore. I was hesitant and didnt want to partake and ruin my clothes but when it happened everyone got into the spirit and the sake shots were one of the highlights of the night. Even though I got some sake on myself, I didnt care… I had fun and it doesnt stain your clothes! I even got a little tipsy off the sake since he went 2 rounds… yes I’m light weight! Lol We sang happy birthday to my boo and they brought out a cute sparkling candle that rotated. He was happy and that made me even happier. Thanks for making my other half’s birthday a memorable one!!! Overall, the dinner, food, performance and ambience were amazing and I’ll definitely be back soon!

First Hibachi I have been to in Harlem. They are very accommodating. They have a nice waiting area if you are waiting for other people. I was here for a friends birthday celebration. The chefs are talented and do many tricks for you. They throw vegetables into your mouth to see if you can catch them. They shoot sake in your mouth from the table in a ketchup bottle and chant to keep going. That was okay for people who like having sake on their clothes, or vegetables hit them in the eye, but that is not my cup of tea. The food was tasty and they give you two sauces to use. My advice taste them first before adding to your food. The birthday celebration is nice, they sing happy birthday and give you a cupcake that open with the candles spinning around. Def a different experience compared to. The other Hibachi places.

Over the last few months, Nikko has become my go-to place for sushi by Columbia/Morningside Heights. If you have never walked into Nikko before, just prepare yourself. It’s no typical fusion place — it’s huge and super flashy! There is a separate section on the left for the bar and hibachi tables. The right side is the huge, darkened moodlit dining room which shares its space with the hot kitchen and sushi bar. The food? Not bad. I have to admit that I really only come here for/order the sushi. The other stuff… I think it your typical pan-fusion stuff. I tried the grilled squid(not bad) and the wasabi shui mai(which I almost believe are the frozen supermarket kind) and wasn’t super impressed. The sushi, though, is pretty good. The spicy combo is my favorite. and the rolls are actually spicy. The chirashi is also very good and comes beautifully arranged with thick slices of sashimi. The plus side for me: a Columbia ID will give you a little discount at certain times of day.

Wow the interior is so decorative! I came here with a group of friends and all tried its lunch special. It is not the cheapest lunch special in this area but I can tell you that it is filling, fast, and clean. All that for about $ 10. Or $ 13 after tax/tips. I highly recommend the Lunch Box option where you get a side salad, some small rolls, main entrée, and soup. You could potentially split that into 2 meals! Lunch special runs until 3:30pm, I believe. For its lunch entrée, it is definitely very fusion. They offer Thai, Japanese, and Chinese. I tried the Panang Curry and it was delicious. You could choose your meat option: chicken, beef, and shrimp. Staff are super friendly and nice. During my visit here, the place was busy but not completely packed. So the staff were pretty attentive. I don’t know how crowded this place gets during dinner time though. If you have an hour lunch break, this place will definitely make you happy. Or if time permits, you could even just relax here with friends and enjoy the décor without rushing your meal here.
