Last ditch effort on a Saturday night to find somewhere with an open room in Koreatown, and ended up in their main bar for communal karaōke. Drinks were overpriced and watered down(especially the mixed shots), and the song selection is abysmal. Furniture in the main bar is old and falling apart at the seams. Bathroom of your nightmares — barely stalls at all(oh hey, a 6-inch gap between the wall and the stall! Awesome!), and anyone can just wander into the ladies room as it has no door. Crowd was decent, but sparse. Back we go to St. Marks.

I went to Chorus on my 18th birthday, Oct 16, 2015 with a few friends and family. We arrived at 6 p. m and since after 7 pm you have to be 21, we only stayed for an hour. It was also happy hour so the price was really good like $ 27 for five of us, it was great! The songs were good, it looked cool because of the Halloween decorations, overall great place to go!

So I went to Karaōke for my birthday after having some drinks not far from K-town. When we first went to the area we stumbled upon a swanky karaōke spot that was super pricey, then came Chorus. Chorus was not bad at all with regards to price and compared to other K-town Karaōke spots. The rooms are actually a better deal than sitting the general area. The selection was so, so I have definitely seen better but overall it was a good experience and it didn’t break the bank. I would go back

Chorus is on the ball, always. Bartenders Younghwa, Karen, and Yoon are dreams in reality — I’ve been coming here long enough that shots are the norm. The communal area is still where you should be singing with friends and friends-you-haven’t-met-yet. They’ve got a fully stocked bar, so you really shouldn’t get bored unless you have weird tastes. Credit accepted, like most spots in K-Town. Recommended.

I’ve been here a few times already and I haven’t had anything to complain about! Awesome karaōke spot to be in, their music is always updated, and such awesome staff! Always a good go-to spot when I’m in k-town with my friends. Definitely a good place to recommend!

Popped by for a birthday party on a Thursday. $ 40 an hour for a medium room that’d fit about 8 comfortably with two bell tamborines and two microphones. A/C was good and strong. Music super loud and the controllers in Korean. So that was an interesting challenge. There are small rooms like this for rent, or you can do the songs in the main bar area. Drinks were not too expensive, at least with individual purchase. The packages were pretty expensive, probably worth it if you have a big party. They couldn’t split the bill. Or even let me pay the shots separately. How hard could it be? It was difficult getting them to understand English, but at least we had one person who could speak Korean with the server. The song list was older, nothing too new. The elevator up was dingy and could carry five to the 3rd floor… it needs a refresh. Clean, at least.

Excellent place, very clean and has a great song selection in both English and Korean. The owner is really nice and offered to give us 30 minutes for free after 3 hours of singing. Afterwards, he gave us free water! ^^

Pricey drinks, a weak song-list, and a $ 20 credit card minimum. I’ve definitely experienced better.

Ooooooh maaaan… This place needs an award! Don’t know how many times I’ve been there and every time was a blast! Very good atmosphere to get drunk and enjoy your night with a group of friends. They serve soju in a very fancy way, comes with popcorn and a flower, which you can put on one of your girl friends and make them happy. Private rooms are the best also! You can do whatever! No shame! No one hears and sees you! When we left last night it looked like a tornado went through, the room was totally destroyed and beer was spilled everywhere. Private room also comes with a plate of fruits and a tambourine. The staff is always nice and give you compliments all the time. Last night we got one hour free and a round of shots… I think they recognize me already so I will be coming back for more fun again and again!

We initially went to Music Story across the street(where there just happened to be a 46 women bachelorette party happening :O) but because it was Friday night and all of the rooms were reserved, one of the hosts called Chorus across the street as they’re both owned by the same dude, and we were told they’d hold a room open for us. It’s a typical K Town karaōke place with strobing lights and head hurting music but the guys were very courteous and hooked my friend up with a birthday shot. The group ordered drinks and food, but I wasn’t in the mood for either. Just give me the Taylor Swift and the hip hop tracks and I’m set. The music selection is meager at best if you’re not korean(and I was the sole korean in the group) which was disappointing because I’ve been to other joints with extensive and sometimes surprisingly so, catalogues. The pop music section is their biggest but don’t expect too much of anything else. Also, the TV had extreme burn-in, which was distracting and annoying for the two hours we were there. I’m not a fan of K Town whatsoever so I can’t really say I’ll be back but yeah. If you’re planning on singing korean songs or American pop, you should have a good time.

Up front, I should note that had the employees/management of Chorus Karaōke not offered several make-good attempts tonight, this would be a solid 2 star review. But I appreciate effort, so they get a bump for it. Chorus Karaōke has a lot of potential. The rooms are nice and there’s more personality in the decorating scheme than most karaōke places in the city. They also aren’t as well known as other places in the area so(as I learned tonight) are more likely to have space for your last minute karaōke needs. All that said, there are serious problems. 1) The remote: I karaōke a lot. I mean a lot a lot. My friends similarly are karaōke pros and we’ve all used a lot of systems both around the city and abroad. And yet our group easily wasted the first 15 minutes just trying to figure out the controls to a point where we could put songs into the queue smoothly. Basically, the remote is not intuitive at all. If your remote is going to be at all complicated, you should offer to explain it up front(they didn’t). 2) The deal: We were told it was $ 55 for the room(of 7 people) per hour, and we each had to order a minimum of two drinks. But they never acted like the second drink was expected or required, which made us feel suckered into getting one of the drink-inclusive menu options. To be clear, I’m not bitching about *not* being held to a 2-drink minimum — but coming in, it was made extremely clear that we would be and group drink deals were strongly recommended and ordered as a result, so given this may not have been a requirement they intended to enforce it felt a bit sketch. A first hour minimum per person would be much clearer. 3) The service: Overall, they tried to make up for their mistakes. They comped us a fruit plate because our food platter was so late coming out. They brought free(super sweet/weak) shots for the group about 30 mins before our time was up. But they also needed to be reminded about some drinks we ordered, at least one of which was extremely weak, and by the end were way more annoying than they were helpful(more on that in next paragraph). 4) The bill: The first bill brought to us(about 40 mins before our time was supposed to be up) contained a serious overcharge. I sent it back and they adjusted it about 5 – 10 minutes later. They then proceeded to stop in every 5 – 10 minutes after that until our time was almost up to ask if we’d settled it and/or wanted anything else to drink. So essentially the last 25% of our session was interrupted every other song. The 5-minute warning is customary at karaōke — 5 warnings at 5-minute intervals throughout the last half hour of your stay is just obnoxious. I really try to be fair with businesses so I’m not usually a person to make a scene, but I made a bit of one here. Every interaction with the staff left a bad taste in my mouth either because it was seemingly sketchy/trying to pressure us into spending more money, simply inattentive/careless, or just plain rude. The last half hour in particular was incredibly frustrating. So we complained, very bluntly. All of that said, I would be remiss if I didn’t highlight the following things offered(and graciously accepted) to make up for the trouble: — 2nd hour removed from our bill — 2 free hours of karaōke for our next visit — multiple apologies from multiple members of the staff I really do appreciate the extent to which Chorus Karaōke attempted to make good of the situation, and I’m always happy to give a business a second chance, so I do intend to come back at some point. I hope they give some serious thought to their quality of service, as it is the primary element bringing them down at the moment.

I love this place. One of the most easy going, fun, accessible Karoke spots in K-town. Private rooms are dandy, but I dig the main room. Hospitable with an often friendly crowd. $ 3 per song, $ 7 per beer and smiling, attentive staff. Terrific for groups. Worth the visit. Especially later in the evening hours.

Ok place. I have been here many time just drinking, I’m a terrible singer. However I find the open karaōke space a bit amusing. You see people get really passionate about singing and that’s very interesting to me. I also enjoyed drinking more when there are people singing songs I’ve never heard of in a strangely hilarious tone, there’s a «surprise» element in that. However if I were to seriously sing, I will keep my embarrassment in a room…

I don’t really like karaōke since it’s always the last thing we do and by then, I’m dead and it’s just too much effort. However, this time I obliged and we headed over to the closest karaōke spot and ended up at Chorus. I actually think I’ve been here a couple times before and just didn’t remember. The bouncer is really cool. Random, but yeah, he’s actually cool. Happy birthday bouncer dude! It was $ 60 an hour for the room, which, depending on how many people you have, could be pricey or actually not so bad. The drinks are a little expensive — it was at least $ 20 a bottle for regular straight soju, but that’s to be expected. Service is decent as well — they pop in every now and then to make sure you’re good with drinks. But it was a little annoying when there were 10 minutes left and a waitress popped in to tell us(in the middle of a song) that we had 10 minutes left. Ok… it says so in the corner of the screen — got it. The rooms are decently clean and don’t smell like the people before you, which is always a good thing. No signs of old puke anywhere. They have a good amount of English songs and even have new ones if you go towards the back of the book. However, half of the song book isn’t even in alphabetical order(added by date), so good luck with that!

@@Highly recommend @@ Great song selections to choose from. I had a great time w/my friends. The price wasn’t bad, especially being located in the city. We ordered drinks & fruit platters. My friend, being clumsy, dropped all the fruits on the floor & they gave us another platter for free!!! We also got free round of shots because my friend finally turned 21! Talk about great service :) If you talk to the workers casually & get to know them, theyre really chill. Also, the interior design is awesome. They did a great job to the place.

Always a great place to go to whenever I’m around after dinner and drinks in Ktown. Once you enter, the staff will welcome you and make you feel at ease. They will accommodate to all your needs, and make sure you’re having an excellent time without being over bearing. The drinks at the bar are strong and delicious– very fitting for my tastebuds. I do love the fact that they have public karaōke set up in the lounge for the fearless singers and also have modern(not to mention CLEAN) private rooms for the shy timid ones. They have a pretty extensive list of songs and they are updated. Oh yeah, they also offer HAPPYHOURDEALS. To the people who don’t have the funds to get wasted late at night, you can now go earlier in the day on some weekdays(1pm-7pm I believe) to get wasted for half the price! You’re welcome.

As pertains to the lounge area, not the rooms… It pains me to write this review update, but it is warranted given the amount of pain, disappointment, and sh*tty treatment me and mine have had to collectively endure over the last handful of visits to this location. I repeat, this review update is based upon an amalgamation of visits since the last review; if I were you, I would consider this a credible review, if by virtue of the sheer volume of visits I’ve had to this place(I am, or at least was, the duke of this place for a time goddammit). The fall from grace for this place very much mirrors a relationship I had with what was once a someone who was very near and dear to me; my love for this place started upon introduction of this charming space by said someone as well. Intertwined fates maybe? But I digress. At the inception of my love for Chorus, song tickets were $ 2, complimentary popcorn and fruits were served all the time for the faithful karaōke go-er, there was no drink minimum per person, and the servers were beautiful. But just like a certain past friendships/relations, there was no reciprocity between both sides, it just became a taking, up until I(and my guests, as relating to this karaōke joint) came to terms with the fact that the good times had come and gone, and that all wrongdoers cared only for number 1(i.e. them). The song ticket prices are now(and have been for quite some time) $ 3 a pop, say bye bye to the fruit(I’ve heard talk of the popcorn still being around, makes sense since the salty makes one thirsty for more pricey booze), an enforced 2 drink minimum per guest(so if you have non-drinking friends like I do, you’ll have to pick up some slack on their behalf), only thing that hasn’t changed is the beautiful servers(who were never very charming or pleasant in the first place… the extra tidbits in the good days made it easier to look past this); very much mirroring my life, my friend still remains a beauty, but once they turn their backs and go the way of being an unreasonable(blank), well then, you just gotta move on. I do hold out a shred of hope for redemption, on the part of both topics of conversation in this review that have disappointed me monumentally. My faith ain’t there, but maybe you can pleasantly surprise me.

I feel like I’ve been here to Chorus’s karaōke lounge more times than I can count, mostly because it is just so convenient to go to the lounge area when you spontaneously want to sing. Singing in a room full of others is a little unnerving at first but when you sit and watch after a while, you notice that everyone else is singing as foolishly as you are. Between a group of friends, this can be a cheaper alternative to renting a private room, especially if people can’t commit staying for a certain amount of time. It does get pretty busy in the lounge though. During a busy night, if you put in your last song and just want to go home because it is late, it can take up to 30 – 40 minutes until your song finally circles around. With that said, despite coming here a lot, this place is not my favorite to go to. It is a little tacky looking in the lounge, almost spaceship like with the metal and vinyl seating. The music selection(at least the«foreign» songs) are not that great(Why no En Vogue?!), but probably good if you are singing Korean songs. The lady bartenders/servers are beautiful and always dress to impress, which I’m sure is a treat to all the guys in there, but personality wise they are pretty cold. Recently, Chorus has enforced a two drink minimum policy. I personally don’t drink alcohol, but my core group of friends always drink heavily, usually pretty much enough to cover me. Even with that, I personally feel like I get eyes rolled at me when I tell them I don’t, even when I mention I will buy food instead which I always do. Worth mentioning: they don’t have the fruit bowl anymore which is usually what I buy. In the end, I think that renting a private room anywhere is better than Chorus’s lounge but for spontaneous moments of wanting to sing karaōke, I probably will still continue to come here… until I can find somewhere better…

Ended up here after our beloved Japas 27 told us that they were all booked up for the next few hours(and that place is awesome & all you can drink!). So as a second choice, it ended being ehh. We got a private room but had to move right away because the microphone was messed up. In the new room, we had fun singing but a lot of our songs kept getting skipped and songs we didn’t pick would come on! I know we were a bit drunk and the remote is more complicated than it needs to be but this happened all night. The place has a cool futuristic, clubby vibe. There were 5 of us and we were told it would be $ 45 for 1 hour(the rates are on their website depending on number of people). We were also told there was a 2 drink minimum per person. The yogurt soju was yummy so that was a big hit. I thought the song selection was definitely lacking. Not terrible, but I’ve seen better. There are definitely better karaōke places than this. Drunk karaōke is always fun but when you’re dishing out $$ you want to at least hear your songs!
