Quick Summary: Meal: Dinner — Delivery Day: Saturday Food: 1⁄5(Terrible) Service: 4⁄5(Good) Environment: N/A Items consumed: Saag Paneer and Garlic Naan Detail: I used to order delivery from here about once every couple of weeks, but it seems like the quality of food is inconsistent and when it is on the bad side… it’s really not good. I’ve ordered Saag Paneer here multiple times, but this is now the second time that the flavor was as if an ingredient in there was spoiled. It’s one thing not to have the best flavor, but when it tastes spoiled, it’s truly unacceptable. The naan this time was also nothing to write home about in quality and flavor, and am unclear how it was garlic at all. In summary, order at your own risk, its possible you’ll get something good, but equally as possible it’ll just be gross and a waste of money.

UNACCEPTABLE. Do not order delivery from this location. We love the food, but finally just threw their menu in the garbage. Been waiting 2 hours. The same thing happened last time we ordered. We were told that the messenger was in an accident and had to go back to get new food. That’s reasonable and understandable. So we ordered again and have been waiting for 2 hours again. 45 minutes ago we were told that the messenger had already left. STILLNOFOOD. Please just say that you don’t offer delivery, because you don’t.

I came here for lunch. The restaurant is quite large and the menu offers everything, chicken, lamb, beef, and vegetarian options. I had the aloo gobi, which is potato and cauliflower with cumin spices. The cauliflower came in huge pieces, I guess they didn’t bother to cut it up. It was flavorful, not too spicy. It does not come with rice. Rice and peas are separate for $ 4. And of course I ordered it being a big eater that I am. All of the indian places I’ve been to include rice and other small dishes. I had the poori which is the fluffy fried one, this resembled a big fart cushion toy that you get in the toy store. This was very good, it was not too thick and fried perfectly. I also had the garlic naan, this was not too garlicky and tasted ok. Overall it was an ok place, on the expensive side and they charge for each individual item.

Pretty good Indian food. Service is good. Always got a table even in prime hours. Usually go at like nch on weekdays which seem to be half off which is cool. Nothing special or original really

Possibly the worst chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had. It literally tastes like warmed up pasta sauce with some spices. There is zero cream in this and doesn’t even remotely taste like Indian food at all. The manager who handed me my take out order also forgot my drink… Never going here again.

This place is pretty good. I came here for lunch a couple of times. The service is relatively quick, food is tasty and fresh. I really liked their chicken tikka massala. Chicken was super soft and melts in your mouth. The décor is really nice too. There are ceramic lamps hanging from the ceiling and the place feels very authentic Indian.

I shouldn’t have ignored the warning signs for this B rated restaurant. I glimpsed into the kitchen before I entered and saw a bucket filled with chickens just lying on the counter. Then when I was ordering, the waiter advised me to choose something else because my first choice«wasn’t fresh.» Red flag! But I was hungry and it was cold, so I thought I would be safe if I just ordered vegetarian. The vomiting started a while later when I returned home. It seems like I got food poisoning. I vomited about six times, once every hour. My husband felt extremely nauseated from the food as well. Our entire weekend was ruined because of Balduchi’s Indian food.

They have a great lunch deal where everything is 50% of, that is the option of à la cart or there is even a buffet. Service is pretty good, fairly attentive. I really like the chicken tikka masala, we also ordered chicken Saag but that was only ok. The best thing on the menu here is the rice that has fruit in it –I know that sounds funky but you have to try it to get the idea –it even goes good with the savory dishes, definitely worth a try. This is a perfect for lunch in this area.

We had been there for Dinner. I must say the food quality was better than what they serve during lunch. Food was perfect in spices and had a great aroma. We had ordered samosas, malai kofta and paneer tikka masala. Everything was good in taste. Better than most of the Indian restaurants in Lex Ave.

Wow has this Indian food chain restaurant gone down hill! It was indescribably awful. The Ka Chori was literally inedible. I won’t even mention the rest of my meal. DON’T GO!

Curry lamb, that is all I had and it was 17 $$ ! Are u out of your mind??? Sure, I can pay 17 $$ but wait, do I get any kind of service? Is service, detail also a part of this 17 dollars? I said no. Is the curry lamb taste ok? Ya, not bad. Am I gonna go back again just because of the food? So not, 17 $ for curry lamb at a not so pretty restaurant with no professional table service, ya, not again. It was just a quick bite for me. 3 stars because their curry lamb doesn’t suck.

Overpriced food + lackluster quality = never again. At 10:30PM last week, I was craving some Indian food and this was literally the ONLY place that was still delivering on Seamless in FiDi. You basically have to get their $ 16 «deal» since all their meat dishes are at least $ 14 on their own anyways. But this«deal» is made to sound much better than it actually is. The appetizer you get is actually more of a mini appetizer — I got the chicken malai kabab and received a mere two small pieces. The raita is given to you in literally two small ketchup size plastic containers. Neither one tasted great either — the raita actually had a sweeter taste to it when an authentic raita would be more tangy and the chicken was just eh. At least the«deal» includes rice and naan, which are the only things that would be worth the extra $ 2. The biggest disappointment though was the chicken vindaloo I got as my entrée — it was spicy alright and big enough for two meals, but also extremely acidic and sour tasting. In addition, the curry sauce was thin and watery. Oh and what’s up with that weird red color?! Any vindaloo I’ve ever had has always been brown. And I’m Indian, so I’ve definitely had my fair share of vindaloo. After I figured out that I could tone down the acidity/sourness by mixing the vindaloo with enough rice, I actually kinda liked the taste(although all that extra rice did make it more of a biryani) and thus am placated enough to give Baluchi’s an extra star.

The half price lunch is an excellent deal for quality food. I have also enjoyed dinner here.

Ordered the chicken tikka masala on Seamless. The chicken was nicely cooked and bathed in a rich, creamy tomato-based sauce. They gave about the right amount of rice for the curry. This would be 4 stars but I’m taking off half a star for how long it took(45 minutes when I was one block away). 3.5 stars

If I could give it a negative star I would. 1. The restaurant had only 4 tables ready with place settings, for dinner! 2. The glasses were dirty. We asked for new ones. The waiter washed the glasses and without drying them filled them with water and returned with water dripping all around. 3. The plates were OLD and scratched. 4. Our waiters finger was in the rice bowl as he served us ! 5. The toilets were dirty. 6. The only flavor in the food came from the buckets of butter and cream in the gravy. 7. BUTTOTOPITALL– WEWERECHARGED18% GRATUITYFOR A PARTYOFTWO. When we asked they said it was restaurant policy…

This is the best option for Indian I’ve found in the area, but after ordering from here numerous times I’ve found the food to be inconsistent. Their samosas are excellent every single time, if you get anything get them! Their garlic naan is also delicious. Their chicken tikka masala is too sweet. Their chicken jalfrezi can be good when they actually make it spicy and fill the container with curry, but I’ve received it with no heat and almost no sauce. The vindaloo is alright in terms of heat, but the flavor could use some work. The chana masala is bland. And the mysore mushroom curry was overloaded with a hilarious amount of peas and was also too sweet. They have never, not once, had the goat that they offer on their menu and instead substitute it with lamb. And since my last review every single time I have ordered a chicken dish the chicken is dry and overcooked, I don’t even eat it. It seems like they really Americanize their flavors, so if you’re looking for that deep rich Indian flavor you’re not going to find it here. On the plus side, service has always been very nice. If you do go get the Baluchi’s Deal. It’s an app, entrée, naan and rice for $ 16, just two more dollars than an entrée on it’s own. But you have to ask for it, no one will tell you about it if you call to place an order!

I know it’s Tribeca and all but this place is kind of pricy. Considering the atmosphere and experience, I didn’t find it to be worth the pricetag. The interior, I have to admit, is very nice. Modern and clean looking. But despite the looks, the tables were really sticky. I don’t like that especially when I know a little windex takes care of that pretty well. My arm literally stuck to the table when I leaned on it. We started with the aloo papri which was yummy. $ 8 yummy? Maybe not especially when it’s just chickpeas and potatoes. Moved onto the Veda Goat special and my veg korma. Korma was a bit on the sweet side and the Veda Goat was a bowl of bones in sauce which was so disappointing. For $ 16, I would’ve liked more edible meat. The sauce was really good but it was about 2 – 3 small cubes of meat that I got from the order. Not to mention it’s not very sexy picking out bones on a date. And why was there a maraschino cherry in my korma? So strange. At least dinner came with a side of basmati rice with peas in it. The worst part of my dinner was the really loud clattering when they were cleaning up the buffet tables. Imagine this, you’re talking to someone and having an intimate conversation and you hear this loud crashing and dishes repeatedly falling and echoing in the large dining area. VERY annoying and my table wasn’t the only one to be bothered by it. After 20 minutes of that and cold service, I was officially ticked off. I would’ve rather hiked all the way north to get good Indian food and a better experience.

It’s an OK Indian restaurant downtown. My cousin and I ate dinner here and I honestly wasn’t truly impressed with the food. We ordered the kachori and bhel-puri for appetizer. The kachori was really tasty and just how it’s supposed to be. However, the bhel-puri was too salty/tangy for my taste. I typically like tangy food, but this was just too much. My cousin got the chicken vindaloo and I got the the paneer tikka masala. Probably the most bland and tasteless indian dish I have ever had! The curry had no taste and the paneer was very dry. It wasn’t spicy, tangy, anything… just bland. I had to add a lot of chutney and hot sauce just to get some flavor in the dish. Overall, I wasn’t impressed and don’t think I’ll be back. Very bland food and not worth it with so many other good Indian restaurants in the area.

Place was pretty empty on a Sunday late afternoon but I didn’t care I wanted some spicy food on a cold day. The hottest curry they had was the Vindaloo but it wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be. To be honest I downed the whole thing without sweating but the lamb meat was very tender and delicious. For $ 16 it could have been so much more better. The sauce was more on the sweet side. The Tanduri bread was delicious though especially with garlic. Not overpowering but just hint to really taste it. The rice bowl was split between three people and it got the job done. The atmosphere can be more livelier but service was really good. Not sure if I would come back here for spicy food but down to try their other dishes.

Make sure you go for the half off during lunch. I’m not really experienced with Indian food, so always defer to my Indian coworkers and friends to order. Everything they’ve ordered so far have been delicious but my favorite has to be the lamb biryani. It’s mixed with delicious spices and vegetables. The best part is the flavor of the lamb really permeates throughout the whole dish. Also love the Garlic Naan they serve.
