Experience was horrible ! The staff was so worried about going home they didn’t check up on us and by the time server came back to check i tried to order a fried ice cream and he said the kitchen closed at 11(it was 11:02) this was the worst celebration I’ve ever had and was also my first time we felt very uncomfortable and when we asked for heat they didn’t really put the heat on until we were leaving

Just went for lunch… Used a groupon and was still treated delightfully(some places seem to resent groupon customers). All the food was wonderful and drinks and service and ambiance … I recommend crap wontons and shrimp pad Thai.

Good Food and Strong Drinks! I dined here for my friends birthday in November, I heard about it through a deal on living social and only picked the place because of the previous Unilocal reviews. I have to say it was better than expected. We arrived at about 9pm on a Thursday it was clean and quiet. The waiter was very helpful and knew what every drink had in it. My friend is a sushi lover he ordered the Nasdaq roll and the crispy seafood spring rolls app & I got the edamame app and the crispy beef entrée. Every thing was delicious! The living social deal included two apps, two entrees, and two cocktails. I was very impressed by the service and the food. I will definitely go here again.

Good service, nice place. I would stick w the Sushi over the stir fry dishes as they have too much rice to meat ratio. But fair priced, good food. Was quiet on a Sunday night but most of this area is very quiet on a Sunday. Giving it 5 stars as they did a good job overall.

I came here with a living social coupon and felt i was the sucker — the restaurant has a happy hour everyday from 4−9pm. who needs a voucher?! This space used to house Aja and Eno, which were really cool spaces. Amaze 58’s interior is a tragedy. the area in back that used to have the buddha statue and fountains is now the storage room. there were delivery bicycles and an old ladder in the back of the restaurant and in full view of the dining room. Let me tell you, it really created the mood… The food was okay. Chinese american fare like general tso’s /sesame chicken /orange chicken, beef and broccoli, etc. There is a special groupon /living social menu, which is a subset of the regular menu, ie., the stuff that isn’t so good. Service was okay. No one came to check on us. I asked for the regular menu, which never came. Ultimately I went to the hostess stand and got the menu so i could decipher what was in the items on the living social menu.

This place was great. Took a friend of mine for his favorite food, sushi, with a Living Social seal and we had a wonderful time. The ambiance was perfect; not too bight and not too dark. The detail in the décor was astounding. I appreciated that. The wait staff was also very kind, patient and polite. We had the Shumai and Gyoza and a Green Salad w/ginger dressing for our apetizers. For the main course we ordered sushi and it was awesome. The only thing I would say, that’s not even much of a negative, is that the drinks are crazy strong. I personally didn’t mind but not everyone will enjoy that. My friend more appreciates the sweetness beyond the alcohol, so while it wasn’t the worse past of the meal, for him, it wasn’t the best. We definitely got our money’s worth and my friend had a great birthday dinner. All in all… Amaze gets a solid A from me.

Delicious fresh food. Prices were great. Happy hour from 5 – 9. Big fan of this. Upper east side gem! Will definitely return.

Found a nice Asian restaurant on the upper east side that I’ll definitely return too! Dined here yesterday evening with my other ½ in the early part of the evening. Is was a pretty nice dinner date… Entrees and drinks were pretty good. I ordered shrimp Pad Thai and she ordered chicken in garlic sauce, both were very good. Both of us ordered Mojito cocktails and those were also pretty good, they didn’t hold back on the liquor! We also enjoyed some steamed shrimp dumplings which weren’t the best I’ve had in the city buy still good. They have a very good/cheap happy hour drink menu which I’ll be sure to take advantage of one day in the future! Almost forgot, staff was friendly and restaurant has a nice décor. *I’ll definitely visit again in the future!

The food here is EXCELLENT and the service was great and with limited waiting periods in between appetizers and entrée servings. The only complaint I have was that there was a very limited amount of menu choices when you buy their deal at either Groupon or Living Social. The fried green tea ice cream is so DELICIOUS, it is worth the saved space on your appetite!

Very reasonable sushi and sashimi. Nice atmosphere, fair prices for the miso soup and beer. I loved their Tuna Special Roll… two different tuna’s on the outside of the roll and a «crunchy» tuna inside… yum!

Nice waitress, completely clueless. Watered down bland mojito, inability to follow directions, along with a terrible miso cod makes for a bad experience.

Brunch special and bento box(lunch size) are so good! Especially for bento box, you can get grilled salmon, rice, a few pork dumplings and a few sushi pieces for just $ 8 ! Taste are good. Brunch special is also good, with just $ 15.

Purchased a living social deal apparently there is more than one location and it’s valid only in the upper west side(sneaky living social)… Either way I showed up to the restaurant, handed them my voucher and asked if there were any issues using it I didn’t know about the hidden terms yet). They didn’t even look at the voucher and said yeah just sit down. Flag 1. I order just enough for the promotional value. Food was okay. Nothing amazing, but wasn’t too bad. I ordered the Sushi for 2 and it came with an assortment of sushi and two rolls. The portion was pretty big, but the fish was not 100% fresh. Secondly, there was a tiny crawling live ant on the sushi. My bf said it’s okay, as long as it’s not a roach. Flag 2. fine. I can live past that When it was time to pay, they took the voucher, came back and said oh we can’t use this, you can only use it in the other location… Flag 3. I gave you the voucher in the beginning so that you can verify if there are any issues using the voucher… They lack front of the house customer service. Can’t blame it on the rest of the staff… our waitress was attentive, but the head waitress was not.

It’s cheap par-level sushi. Would I go here for dinner(assuming all I do is order Seamless from here)? No. Absolute not. Because it’s simply not worth the effort seeing as how it’s alll the way over on the east side and also just because I can find better sushi elsewhere. That said though, if you’re on Seamless looking for a standout sushi spot to order from, I’d highly recommend this place, as they serve a lot of sashimi and a delectable spicy tuna roll(instead of the crappy california rolls… I hate, hate, hate california rolls. Why do they even exist?) along with soup and other goodies for their sashimi lunch order. It’s definitely the only good sushi place to order from in all of midtown… and I’ve ordered from a lot of them.

Groupon Review. If i didnt have a Groupons probably would of rated this a 1. 1 star for decent service. Took a little long to get our orders and bills, but we werent rushed and the server dropped by so it was good 1 star for good décor. Lots of stone and stuff. honestly it looked nice and clean what more do you want 1 star for decent food for select sushi rolls. I know its a fusion place but I tried only sushi. Their rolls that I tried were decent except for their fruit roll which yea, I tried which was disgusting. Their rolls are also more or less puny. Puny rolls of maybe 8 pieces, some of which are maybe half the size of other places and this makes it comparitively costly! If i didnt have a groupon for i think 18 for 40 dollars I would of felt disgusted at myself for paying so much for very mediocre sushi. Thanks for the groupon, thanks for the meal. But I dont think I’ll be coming back.

I came here with a friend during happy hour and found myself pretty disappointed in my meal. Even with happy hour appetizer prices we ended up spending a decent buck a piece, and for mediocre quality fish. Best dish that we sampled was the rock shrimp… although it wasn’t the best rock shrimp I’ve ever had, and was lacking any sort of breading, it was pretty tasty. Their sushi pizza was drenched in gooey seaweed that totally overpowered all the other flavors atop the thin crostini. We also got the California Mountain and although the concept of tempura-ed nori is appealing, the spicy tuna that came on the roll was not really too fresh. I ended up picking at tons of rogue tempura flakes at the bottom of the dish to get filled up. Probably the biggest draw of this happy hour is the drink specials, with $ 3.00 glasses of wine. The atmosphere was newly renovated and very nice and open. As for the service, it left a lot to be desired with our waiter messing up our drink orders and needing to hear the dinner requests several times(poor guy was definitely a sweetheart, though). I know this strip along 1st Ave. can be difficult to find great restaurants but if you roam long enough you will find higher quality sushi than this around Sutton Place. I’d pass…

After an amazing work day playing with puppies volunteering, my famished coworkers and I stopped by Amaze from some afternoon cocktails and appetizers. My top favorites were(in same order as the pictures below): Bangkok Duck Wrapped Lettuce — delicious! The lettuce was very crispy, the peppers were just a little hot and very fresh and the duck had a great sauce that it’d been cooked in. I tried to steal a whole plate of this to myself. Gyoza Pork Dumplings — so juicy on the inside and very hot so be careful when you bite! Bacon Wrapped Pineapple — Sounds better than it was but I’m also not a huge fan of pineapple. I’m giving it an A for creativity though. Don’t need to go back but the service was great and it was perfect for the occasion.
