This is dream ice cream! Tasty, smooth, natural, and less guilty(5.5−8% fat versus 15% in traditional ice cream, and 12% in traditional gelato)! And such a smart move to set up a seasonal stand in front of whole foods market in TriBeCa. I was going to get my usual vanilla/milk favor, however forest mint chocolate won my heart after trying it out!!! It’s addictive… I finished it non-stoppable… The mint is natural and refreshing(real mint!), and the small chocolate chips are crunchy and rich! Ice cream itself is smooth, natural, less creamy than Italian gelato(is this proportional to fat %?! I guess no wonder it’s extra refreshing). High quality fresh ingredients! They def nailed this flavor. A bit pricy($ 5+ dollar for small cup/cone), but still justifiable with the good quality. with this refreshing mint aroma in my mouth, I’m ready to kiss someone =) Can’t wait to try out other favors when I want to treat myself next time!

Location: Nolita, a place for fashions, hosts this only one ice cream at the neighborhood. To fit in the trendy environment, they painted their wall to yellow, showing a sense of summer and reminding me that it’s time for a Gelato! Ice cream: the first time I went there, I remembered that they were trying to sell ice cream sandwich, and this time, I somehow went for their weird ice cream flavors. Yeah, I mean, WTF flavor. Basically, it’s a gimmick of another version of seasonal flavor. I got lemonade. Very organic. Very sour Nolita ain’t cheap babe

Excellent Brazilian gelato(lower fat and calories) and friendly service. Delicious vegan options. Call ahead if you are looking for a specific flavor, as the flavors rotate.

Good but not great. Size if a little small for the price($ 7 for a small sized gelato). Tried the chocolate chip and nutella swirl. Smooth texture but not overwhelmingly sweet — which I appreciate. Unsure will return since it’s out of my way.

Another sweet spot for me I guess. After painfully debating inside myself whether I should go for the tiny cup or the cone, I decided to follow my heart and reward myself a cone after a long week of salad. They almost ran out of pistachio which is my favorite flavor, but eventually I had what I was asking for… yay! I guess I don’t need to spend time and describe how soft and creamy their gelato was — every bite melted itself in my mouth and made my mouth even more watery! If you are a calorie saver, opt for the sorbet please, but you are for sure gonna miss out the smooth texture of gelato! Not too much seating place inside so suggest grab-n-go.

Great flavors. It’s off the beaten path, but worth finding it. I tasted all 10 flavors and had a hard time picking three to order. Everything was very good and rich.

Loved the gelato here. Honestly some of the best I’ve had in NYC. This is a very small counter, so don’t expect a long list of flavours. But what they do have is fantastic. They also have a gelato sandwich on brioche, which my kids highly recommend. I tried it and personally thought it was just alright. But the gelato, is a total home run! Will be back for sure.

On a cold and rainy February night, my friend and I dropped in on this gelato place after having a wonderful meal down the street. The shop attendant showed us a great time, was so helpful pairing each sample with a world of information, meanwhile also playing old favorites, and not minding us while we sang along to the lyrics. The pistachio is smooth and delightful and the Nutella gelato paired beautifully with it! Prices start short of $ 5 for«Tiny», and move up to small, medium etc but the memories for my friend and I – priceless! Til next time, AB Biagi!

Tucked away with lots of bigger and better know dessert places around is found AB Biagi on Elizabeth Street. Named after the owner and chef, a perfectly size location with a soul much bigger than the size in square feet. The service is perfect and the gelato is amazing. Not cheap, but definitely worth every penny. Try the Pain Gelato

Great gelato, albeit slightly pricy. Service tonight was a bit lacking. I empathize it was late and close to end of business hours, but fake it till you make it if you’re in any type of service business. Ms. Young Cranky Pants set a bad vibe and then curtly said you’re gonna have to leave 45 minutes before the store actually closed. Chin up, gal. Smile more. It’s good for you. And your customers.

Ambiance/décor-3 Service-5 Food-3 Strikeouts-0/3 Service was quick, you’re allowed to try flavours, but not many to choose from. I got straciatella, but tried they basil pine nut flavour. The basil is very relaxing in flavour but very pure. I do no believe I would be able to eat a scoop full. Personal preference though. I craved a chocolate flavour and this one was very rich and creamy with a hint of chocolate chip, which it should be. If anything, this place tasted more of an ice cream place then a gelato placed as advertised. Definitely not what I expected, but wasn’t bad either. Drop by if you can afford to pay the extra cash for this luxury«gelato».

Maybe I did not come on a day with great flavors, but I was tremendously underwhelmed. My friend recommended we go in, as this place was featured on the Cooking Channel. Tried quite a few flavors and was not impressed with any. Ended up getting the lemon sorbet because I wanted something light but it was packed with sugar(yuck, not what I want in sorbet). The creamy gelato flavors were not the best either. Tried the cookies and cream and almond, but neither were something to note. Anddddd cost is absurd. Not if it reflects ingredients either.

MINTNUTELLA! I’ve never been to Italy so no, I can’t tell you if it’s authentic or not. I can tell you how much I liked my mint nutella gelato and how I loved the real mint in it – NOT artificial mint woohoo! Didn’t opt for the pain gelato because it was $ 8 for bread with gelato and at the end of the day I just want gelato. Small place with a few seats — you’re better off grabbing and going, if the gelato makes it out the door.

Came here after a morning workout because that’s really how to do it. It was midst of winter but sitting inside the empty café and enjoying my warm vegan chocolate brioche pan with a mouthful of cold stracciatella mixed with chocolate was heavenly! Enjoyed it with a good cup of organic brazilian brew(which ended up being on the house!) and a nice chat with the girl that worked the counter. Looking forward to trying their vegan fruit sorbets debuting this summer! Can’t wait to bring anyone willing to go with me!

Coffee + Gelato? Why yes, thank you. I was in the area and badly needed my coffee fix when I found this gem serving up a drink with coffee and gelato in it! It’s an adorable shop and you can’t miss it since it’s bright yellow. You get to choose your own gelato flavor and I chose the nutella. It’s like having breakfast and dessert at the same time!(yes I count coffee as breakfast: P) It was such a nice treat to have since it was a bit hot outside. If only I lived closer, then I would definitely be a regular.

The pain gelato looks dangerous. I saw a sign for it, a burst of deep-seated temptation thumped in my chest, and then I heard my doctor’s ominous warning that high cholesterol runs in my family. But bread stuffed with gelato? Why hasn’t anyone ever thought of such a brilliant idea before? I went ahead and ate a cup of gelato for breakfast, so ha ha, Doc(but I really am sorry and I really appreciate how you still give me a lollipop after a shot, even though I am no longer knee-high and petrified of needles). I usually hate coffee-flavored anything, because coffee is just caffeinated mud water, but the Café flavor ended up being the best. The Nutella swirl was a bit disappointing. It was more like thin ribbons instead of the giant, gooey chunks that I was expecting. Don’t remember much about the mint chocolate chip, just that it got in the way of the Café part. Really, really pricey. Generous with the samples.

Pros: * Stumbled upon this place while walking around Nolita: stellar drinks and gelato. * Although pricey for a tiny cup($ 4.25), it’s worth indulging once in a while. The Pistachio Gelato is phenomenal, comparable to Eataly’s(which has been my fav). * Would love to return and try their famous gelato in a bun.

Came here for their gelato. Let me start off with how friendly and helpful their service was. It was very welcoming the moment you step foot into this place. My friend and I both sampled all the gelato flavors we wanted to try before actually deciding on the flavor we each wanted. The staff was so helpful. She explained the flavors from each individual batch of gelato. The details were convincing and the flavors were spot on.

Yum… dear lord, if I lived anywhere nearby, I’d be rolling out of here within a week. Sheer Brilliance. I’d say maybe a 4.5, but great service and GOODCOFFEE makes it a 5 for me. I came by because I heard about this Pain Gelato, and. Why. WHY did I have it for breakfast?!? I wanted like, 6 more. Ended up getting here about 10 minutes after they opened their doors, which is nice. Got a latte, and it was a pretty good. Felt like a lot of the coffee I had in New York this trip was crap… and I finally got a decent cup of coffee here. Yay! The Pain Gelato. OMG. So. What happens is. You choose the Brioche bread(chocolate for me). The super nice girl behind the counter cuts the sucker in half. Fills it with your choice of gelato(chocolate chip for me!). Then sticks it inside this contraption that seals the edges… so all that ice cream goodness stays in the bread. And. Best part? No sticky fingers! Unless you want them. Then by all means, go nuts.
