Agua de sandia is delicious and refreshing! Ceviche was really good too.

Today was my first time at Tacombi, and I gotta I was blown away since I step foot at the door! The hostess was very sweet and polite. The runner, the waitress everyone was amazing. Food was mouthwatering, I had the corn esquites, the taco especial(carnitas), crispy fish taco and puerco de pasilla taco I gotta say I was in heaven, my regards to the chef! And finally I had to wash everything down with a spike horchata(best horchata ever)! I will definitely come back!

Came on a weeknight to meet a girl friend for drinks, we didn’t have a reservation, so we were worried about being able to walk in, but got a great table right by the van no problem. Highly recommend the Paloma cocktail, just sweet enough! We started with chips and guac, which was really fresh, although the chips were the real star. They were warm and clearly fresh made. We had a sampling of tacos throughout the night including the carnitas, crispy fish, maiz y poblano and pollo adobo.(Favorite was the carnitas!) I definitely think 3 tacos is the perfect amount, especially if you started with an app. Tacombi has a vibrant atmosphere, but never felt too crowded. At times we had trouble getting our server’s attention, but that was partly due to our indecisiveness as much as the capacity of the dining room. Overall fun spot, great vibes, and yummy drinks. Will be back soon!

I found the ordering confusion. I had 2 weak drinks, shared an order of quac, and 2 little taco’s, the fried fish & veracruz. Cost me 55.00 I’ve had better.

Great food and drinks and awesome décor. Being at Tacombi, even in the dead of winter, feels like a Mexican escape. Perfect spot to take a bunch of friends for a unique experience. The food is wonderful, especially the esquites and fish tacos. Pretty good horchata as well. A bit on the pricey side for tacos, but well worth it.

Came here one night with a few of my boys after some hopping — heard this place was the spot for tacos. Not so much imo. Restaurant had a very cozy, «Spanish» vibe — has the décor, the car, and ambiance. Very authentic which was pretty cool. Ordered the crispy fish and especial taco. The crispy fish taco is the way to go here — really good. Don’t really remember the especial taco other than it not being that good. Also, tried the chicken taco which was rather dry. The tacos weren’t amazing simply put. Didn’t have the blast of flavor as a specialty taco place would. Overall, I’d say solid tacos but not worth the price. Tacos priced at such a high value potentially diminish how good the taco is — I’ve also had better. I think this place has the nomenclature to still do well. I may have to take another trip here to get some better color.

Had a lovely lunch here with some friends last Saturday. It’s a place I’ve walked by many times but never had a chance to go into until recently. And I’m glad we did! The ordering process was a little confusing, but essentially each person fills out a slip, marking down the amount he/she wants next to each item. I’m not sure why it’s done this way. We thought it might lead to separate checks(wishful thinking), but alas, it did not. I ordered two tacos(pollo adobo and barbacoa) and the corn esquites. The barbacoa was my favorite, I’d recommend it. The corn makes a great addition if you’re hungry like I was and it’s incredibly flavorful. Everyone else stuck to two tacos and the chips and guac we ordered for the table and was satisfied. But they missed out! Others had nothing but good things to say about the crispy fish and huevos con chorizo. There was a slight hitch when one person in our group ordered horchata and had to flag down a waiter to get it. It also took some effort to get refills on water. Otherwise the service was good, waitstaff were friendly, and the food came out very quickly. The décor is fun, with the VW bus serving as the prep station for the food. We had regular chairs at our table, so I didn’t experience the discomfort others have mentioned. Prices weren’t bad – a bit high for tacos, but what isn’t expensive in Manhattan? It’s easy to forgive when the food is this good.

It was 12:57 am. Tacombi closes at 1:00 am. We assumed they wouldn’t serve us. Ninety percent of places in New York won’t / serve you so close to closing time. But they served us. They served us tacos. The tacos were good. The service was good. Eat tacos here.

This place is definitely on the higher price end for NYC tacos but damn are they good. The barbacoa was juicy, the pollo adobo was perfectly spiced and the seared veracruzana fish was fresh and delicious. The guac was fine; perhaps a bit overpriced. The Paloma was so refreshing and I definitely want to return to try the Spiked Horchata. The coolest part of the experience? Watching the tacos being made inside an old VW bus. That alone makes it worth a visit but I do appreciate delicious tacos in NYC. I would definitely return.

I went to Tacombi on a Saturday, after a LONG day at work, for the first time. The entrance is really small(I mean REALLY small), actually the whole place really small, they only have small metal bar stools to sit on(which can be uncomfortable). But no one cares about the atmosphere, what really matters is if the food was good… I thought the food was great. I ordered the crispy fish tacos and the barbacoa special. The fish taco was delicious, whatever sauce they put on it was to die for. I’d literally eat my own hand if it was covered in that sauce. The barbacoa special was pretty good too, but the fish tacos stole the show.

Went here on a Saturday night and was not impressed. The food was good but everything else was horrible. Where to start! Service: the host was rude, our waitress wasn’t great either. Furniture: little tiny stools that are incredibly uncomfortable. No where to hang your coat or put your purse. Drinks: the sangria is horrible, we sent it back. Not sweet at all, be warned. Won’t be going back.

I have a love and hate relationship with Tacombi. The barbacoa is really tasty. It’s savory, rich and the pineapple salsa adds a fresh touch. People rave about the crispy fish taco but I wasn’t a fan. It felt bready and lacked flavor. Definitely get the esquites(roasted corn with chipotle mayo, lime and mexican cheese)! Atmosphere is cute and fun for a girls night

Decided to stop on by for dinner after watching a show and we were able to be seated right away. The environment is cool and chill with the furniture resembling a street style setting for Mexican food service. I ended getting: — Huevos Con Chorizo Breakfast Taco — Crispy Fish Taco — Corn Esquites Scored on both tacos I got! I love breakfast, so this was a great melding of both worlds. And utilizing that green sauce is a must! I pretty much slathered it all over. The crispy fish taco is a popular one and for good reason. Nicely fried and paired with the mayo sauce and pickled veggies and of course I drizzled a bit of that green sauce too. Left feeling content and not overly full. Definitely will come back when I have a craving for tacos!

I realized that tacos come with a stigma. Whenever anyone reviews a taco place the number one thing they talk about is the price and how high it is in New York. Yes, a $ 5.50 taco is quite a bit pricier than my favorite hole in the wall joints and trucks in Southern California. But this is a city where people buy $ 5 pretzels on the street and use 50% of their income for their rent. New York is not a normal place. So keeping this in mind, I find it easy to forgive Tacombi for its prices, especially because they really put in the effort with their ingredients and their atmosphere. This is my favorite location because they did an awesome job of recreating an outdoor truck/park vibe in an indoor space. The menu has everything I love most, including crispy fish tacos, delicious guac, esquites, ceviche, and tasty aguafrescas. I really haven’t had anything I didn’t like. Maybe one day we will achieve the dream of authentic tacos in New York at California prices. But til then I’m happy to be a sucker and keep going to Tacombi.

Fun atmosphere and authentic looking décor. This place can be a good pick for a group, lots of seating and spaces out. They have a little taco truck indoors, but also a full kitchen in the back. Plenty of drink options, but light on the actual taco options. I tried the crispy fish, barbacoa, pork belly and chorizo with eggs. The crispy fish was the best, would order this again. The chorizo with eggs is one of their breakfast tacos, a little larger than the rest of them. The other too were a complete miss, didnt like the may at all. They have natural juices as well. I ordered naranja, pretty good. The tacos are overpriced, but the place gets points for the atmosphere.

We meet up with friends at this fun casual place in Nolita to catchup. The outdooresque interior is spacious and open. It almost feels like you are outside. I was waiting for Speedy Gonzales to come running by but yes I know he would be a health violation even if he is a cute cartoon mouse. The decent selection of beer/drinks keeps the table happy. The selection of tacos and starters are good for those who are hungry. The corn salad is excellent as any of the tacos. But do keep in mind that come hungry and thirsty the bill can add up quickly. That said. Ándele! ¡Ándele! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba! ¡Epa! ¡Epa! ¡Epa! Yeehaw!

Interesting restaurant tucked into Nolita. The décor tries to replicate street food setup with only a skylight during the daytime. It’s has a casual atmosphere that I really enjoyed. We came around noon and was surprised that there was no wait for a hot summer Saturday. The menu is a bit limited though, but was pleasantly surprised to see breakfast tacos on it. They have a few drink and juice options. Didn’t get it but may try the Paloma next time. Ask the waiter or look at their online menu if you don’t understand some items because there’s no translations. I ordered two Barbacao(beef brisket) tacos and my friend ordered 1 of each breakfast taco. The soft beef tacos were ok, not the best I’ve had. It lacked some flavor so I had to douse it with the chipotle hibiscus sauce from the table. They provide four different types of hot sauce which is good for an extra flavor kick. The toasted corn with chipotle mayo was good! They serve it in a cup instead of on the cob. Better than I expected. I give it four stars because service was good and ambience more so than the food.
