A group of friends and I decided to check out Lucy and the Wolf for a birthday dinner. We had a reservation and the table was ready for us when we arrived. The restaurant is quite small so if you are going on a weekend a reservation is probably the way to go. I liked the simple décor and the coziness of the restaurant. We were seated in one of the high backed booths which made the table feel more private and secluded. The menu is quite small. The drink menu is longer than the food options. I tried one of the cocktails, I think it was the French 75, I liked it but the others at the table had mixed reactions. We shared several of the small plates: charred and chilled shrimp, smoked salmon tartar, tomatoes in a cast iron, biscuits, root veggie salad and honey and shrimp tacos. Everything tasted wonderful, some more unique than others. The chilled shrimp was in a creamy sauce then placed in a soy based sauce. There are a few photos posted that do not show how small the serving actually is. The serving for the biscuits was equally tiny. They were excellent, possibly the favorite at the table. Sweet, but not overwhelming. Four came in an order, each finished in about one bite. The salmon tartar and tomatoes were an average, expected size for a small plate. The tacos had a nice bite of spiciness and I liked that the flour tortilla was lightly grilled. The salad was okay, it was spread along a long plate which made it look bigger then its actual side salad size. The veggies in the salad were small cubes. The quality of each dish was high as was the serve we received. Dishes came out quickly and the table was cleared quickly as needed. I think it is a good place to check out for a drink or two and an appetizer. I do not recommend going if you are very hungry as it takes quite a few plates to fill up and quickly becomes pricy. The price, as echoed in several of the other reviews, really is the problem. I understand that this is upscale tapas but the prices just do not justify the tiny serving sizes.

Great place !!! Fun atmosphere, great food and fun drinks. The plates are big enough to share. My husband a meat eater loved his steak and potatoes. I loved my fish and veggie plates — Scrumptious, and well presented. The drinks were a ton of fun and the server attentative and knowledgable of the both drink and food menus. Can’t wait to go again.

Great addition to the Northville dining scene. Mostly a small plates menu but more than enough to satisfy. We started with sharing a smoked salmon tartar and it was very, very tasty — -reminiscent of up north in Leland. I then had the shrimp tacos which were phenomenal. The best part was that I asked for some hot sauce and they brought me a small cup of sauce and it was one of the best hot sauces I have ever had. They told me it was«Bliss Blast» and it made the dish. My wife got the Steelhead. It was lightly fried and very tasty and more than enough to consider it a full meal. The house cab was good and reasonably priced. Megan D. was our server and did a perfect job. We will be back many times.

Been there twice now and I don’t think I’ll go out of my way to go back. Nothing was that amazing there — kind of find it over priced. The food tastes good but the menu is super small and not all that interesting to me.

This review is for my first and second trip here. First trip: Good friendly service, good«punch», good deviled eggs but just good or above average. The pork belly was crispy creamy but the slaw packed such a horseradish punch it overpowered the pork belly. The berry cobbler was good. Just good. Second trip last night. We came for dessert after a nice meal in Ann Arbor. When we walked in we were immediately overwhelmed with the smell of old fryer oil. We were offered the two top next to the bar and I noticed our upside down water glasses and the ones around us were still wet from being washed with water droplets on them. Not an attractive sight. Service was as good as from any bartender in town. We ordered cocktails and a dessert to share. Cocktails were good. Dessert the Apple tart Tatin. The smoked Carmel sauce tasted like liquid smoke was poured into it and the crust was burned black and added such a bitter taste it was inedible. As we were waiting to pay our check the smell of old cooking grease that permitted the air was then completely wiped out by smell of burnt bread or toast. I couldn’t wait to get a breath of fresh air. Advice to the restaurant owners: First impressions, you need better ventilation around that tiny open kitchen. We had dinner at Real Seafood in Ann Arbor where they take the time to steam and dry their goblets so they are spot free on the table. Sometimes a more subtle flavor or nod in the direction of a flavor is much more tasty then a flavor punch in the face. Such as horseradish or a smoked flavor. Quality control and consistency in both food and service will keep people coming back. I love the location and concept, but there are improvements that need to be made here.

I’m a bit partial cause this place is close to home but I love this place. It has a cozy atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable and yet gives you solitude with your guests. It’s slightly on the noisy side but what restaurant have you been to recently hasn’t been noisy! I’m not a big tapas fan because every time I order I’m disappointed by the size of the dish and/or the dish itself and am not patient enough to go through a few rounds of ordering but the food here was for the most part spot on. The tacos are the best thing in this place followed by the killer trout with cauliflower mash. Juicy and rich… hits different taste buds in your mouths. Dishes I didn’t care for: lentil salad(haven’t really met one I haven’t liked till I had theirs). My friend didn’t like the biscuits and honey but I thought it was unique and tasty(on the teenage weenie side though). For desert, we had the donuts which were not bad. Tiny ones freshly made but a bit too sugary. Gave this place five stars cause our friend Ryan is host here and cause the food is so darn good!!!

Posh, modern décor but not really worth the prices they charge for food and drink. Got a reservation on NYE but wow didn’t need em! All of five couples in the entire place at 830 pm! They messed up with taking reservations. Everyone probably thought they had no openings but you could just walk in and get a table. Very limited menu, limited craft tap, but nice ambiance. Music selection made you feel as if you were shopping in some über trendy Birmingham shoppe but you’re not. We had the wings, which were hard to hold and greasy but a tasty glaze, and the patatas, which are just tiny baker taters with marinara. Again, tasty but eh, forgettable. Don’t think I’ll bother with it again but I’m sure someone will! Hoping for the best for the place before another spot closed!

Cute place. The most modern place Northville has to offer. Great concept. Food wasn’t amazing, but was pretty good. Drink menu is pretty solid. Loved the atmosphere and sharing different dishes with my wife. Wings were probably my favorite. Smoked salmon tartare was great. Shrimp tacos were good as well. Tomatoes were good but left a lot to be desired. Cons — I would say it is overpriced and can be a little cramped. Would go back — probably the best restaurant in Northville.

An absolutely delightful experience. The service was wonderful and so the was the food. Each of the dishes were quit distinct and offered it’s own flare of flavor. You can go just about anywhere and get a shrimp pasta, a steak, etc. They offer unique dishes/tapas at a great price point. A perfect night out for the gals. We chose to sample the tomato in a cast iron, fish and portobello tacos, as well as the biscuits and honey. All three were phenomenal — oh! we tried a charred broccoli something or other, also so well done. Our only complaint was a dessert that was a little too burnt and took over the flavor. I have to say again how great our service was, can’t wait to return.

The service was great but unfortunately it did not make up for the lackluster menu options. We ordered the clams, goat cheese biscuits, and a few other dishes which were disappointing. The food was really salty. I don’t mind paying for small portions if the food is good but I was very disappointed.

Felt very unwelcome. Unwilling to accommodate a larger group for some cocktails after 9:30pm though space was available. Not a good after show location. Just go down the street to the next bar for drinks. Gave two stars as place seemed nice, and we didn’t try to eat. Just really disappointed in management and lack of hospitality.

This is THE place to come to for great food, drinks and atmosphere in Northville. It’s a tapas style restaurant so bring some friends so you can order one of everything off the menu This place is also vegetarian friendly as well!

Flank steak super chewy, though flavorful. Trout with cauliflower purée delicious, but too small a piece of fish for $ 16. Very loud atmosphere. The wait staff didn’t seem to care that our $ 17 flank steak was like chewing gum. Not planning on returning.

Had my parents come visit me for the first time since I moved to Northville in January 2015. Very disappointed and embarrassed I took them there to have an appetizer. I know it’s Northville, but cmon $ 12 for 6 wings? The wings looked and tasted like they were frozen and boiled until they were unfrozen and then thrown in the microwave for 3 minutes. Not what we expected. When we walked in the door we were excited by the smell and the overall appearance of the bar/restaurant. But those wings were a huge let down. We had 1 beer and chose to move on. Not trying to be a big douche bag but those wings were God awful. I’d rather go down to Sports den and order some wings throw them out in the road and watch a few trucks run over them, throw them back in the deep fryer and eat them. Would have been better.

(as another Unilocaler noted, Northville really needs this kind of place!) Came here on a busy Friday night in August. Place was packed(and indeed most of Northville streets were too due to the Friday night music/concert), but this place looked interesting so we decided to give it a try. The host took our tel # and said he’d call us when he had a table. No more than 10 minutes later and we got the call. We got the skillet tomatoes(A+…love the egg & baguette), cauliflower(instead of brocolli) with tomatoes/pesto/chili oil(C+…too salty), the Genetti drink(A), shrimp taco(B), and flanksteak taco(A). All in all, the food was a solid B, and I think had we gotten something different, we would be in A territory. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was loud. Despite the name«small plates», we came out stuffed and had to go for an evening walk!

Ok, went back again and you know what? Still damn fine, tried a bunch of other stuff and it was all good. They were out of the barrel aged Manhattan but working on adding more barrels so they can keep them available. GO!

Relatively new in Northville. Its right in the middle of town — at the corner of Main and Center — South East corner. There is no outside signage, except a sign hanging on the door. Its a smaller place, high tops and booths, with a decent size bar. It is a Tapas place and quality drinks and microbrews. We started with an Armada area cider — semi-sweet — a good tweener between the pop tasting and the extra dry ciders. For tapas we did the roasted potatoes, iron skillet tomatoes and a couple of tacos — portobello and rock shrimp. All were good — I thought the tomato purée/pasted that accompanied the potatoes was particularly tasty. The iron skillet tomatoes seem to be a signature dish. It was all good. Surprising not busy for a Saturday at 6pm. We will be back.

Communal table and high tops out front promote a convivial atmosphere in this restaurant with an urban aesthetic. With wide wood plank walls(reclaimed from Detroit), exposed ductwork and brickwork, and bright orange aluminum stools, collectively, they helped to create a fun atmosphere. A substantial portion of the menu is devoted to drinks. As well, there are also chilled and charred sections to the small plates menu. I went with the watermelon salad which included chunks of sweet, chilled watermelon, mild goat cheese, crunchy roasted marcona almonds, and candied citrus rinds, all in a mint vinaigrette. The pork belly was amazingly charred with a strong smoky taste. The richness of the pork was offset by the spicy Chinese mustard slaw. I confess that I was almost not brave enough to try the black garlic. I am glad that I did though. It was toothsome and sweet. The flank steak was good(not great), a bit overcooked for my tastes but I liked the good flavors of the chimichurri sauce and the chilled corn salsa. The picked shallots were distinctive tasting, different from red onions. The server recommended the Romanesco broccoli which tasted very similar to the popular Brussels sprouts served elsewhere. They were crispy, salty and flavorful in pesto and chili oil. So delicious. The server also recommended the berry cobbler which included tart mixed berries topped with goat cheese and a thin layer of biscuit for a dessert that is not overly sweet. Incidentally, it was surprisingly the only dessert available, even on a Tuesday evening. Overall, service was friendly and helpful. The various servers patiently responded to all newcomers’ questions, which is to be expected for a month-old restaurant. Dishes were brought out as soon as they were prepared for a continuous stream of yumminess. With this inventive menu at opening, Lucy & the Wolf(operated by Mishelle Lussier and Brandon Wolschleger) is another welcomed addition to downtown Northville.

Northville finally has a decent small plates place! What I like: Small plates, interesting drinks, and laid back atmosphere. What I hope they improve on: I appreciate the Prohibition Era/speak-easy-style drinks, but these were more novelty than palatable. Also, the food recipes were well inspired, but the execution was lacking. For example, the skillet cobbler dessert was a great idea, but ultimately tasted more bland than I’d hoped. Also, the pork belly sounded like a great recipe, but the cut was tough and chewy(which may sound funny to say of pork belly, but pork belly is supposed to be easy to slice through — not like gristle on a cheap steak). Ultimately, I will be back… But in no rush.
