We had a lovely date night and struck a little gold. We came unknowingly during their anniversary event where there is a special menu of $ 10 items. Brandon was a superb waiter! CWe started with the chicken drummets and ½ a charcuterie tray for $ 10(yes total!) and also had a lovely $ 10 bottle of wine. Excellent! We actually tried 3 — $ 10 main course dishes. A gnocchi, a steak tips and a burger. All wonderful. We finished with apple crisp and coffee. Well done 5ive! One suggestion — table cloths for the evenings.

I had lunch at the restaurant and had the chef’s salad creation which was pretty good. It had a variety of fresh fruits over spinach and greens with a maple vinaigrette and they let me substitute chicken for the shrimp which I don’t eat. It was perfectly sized but a little pricey but what you would expect for a hotel restaurant.

My wife and I met at 5ive with the intention of splitting some appetizers and having some cocktails on a weeknight recently. We wanted to sit at the bar, and the pleasant hostess directed us there. We were handed a «bar food» menu, but requested the regular dinner menu, as I had looked in advance at the starters online and wanted to order some. We were informed that because they were hosting a special wine dinner in their dining room that evening, only the bar food menu was available. That was disappointing, but we ordered cocktails and a couple of apps. Although they were not really busy in the bar, the service was spotty from the bartenders. In fact, we would have ordered an additional appetizer but we were never offered the opportunity. We had the mushroom flatbread and the potstickers. They were tastey, but not very hot when delivered to us — another signal of inattentive service. Prices were good, and the bar is attractive, with a nice outdoor seating area. But the food and service was a disappointment. We would probably try 5ive again, under the assumption that perhaps the«special event» they were holding impacted their normal good service and food.

We like to come for the special event meals! Mothers day brunch is one of our favorites. The staff are very professional and courteous. The chief creates quote the spectacular menu.

This is really a hidden gem. If you didn’t already know it was there, you would never find it by just driving by. It is hidden in the Hotel portion of the St. Johns Center. I have been here at least 4 times in the last year. They change the menu and the dessert menu every so often, so there are always a few new things to try. The wine list is good, not great, but good. The craft beer selection is really top notch as well. Both are a bit pricey, but worth it. Actually, the whole place is on the pricey side. I recommend the Risotto, or any of the steaks. The Filet is excellent, and the Risotto is always cooked perfectly. The prawns are pretty good as well. Save room for dessert. They have an excellent pastry chef who always comes up with something great for dessert. Tim and the rest of the staff do it right, you won’t be disappointed.

Went here for easter brunch, it was not too busy, probably because of how expensive it was. It was $ 130 for two!(They added their own 22% gratuity, for a table of two, which really threw me off bc I would have tipped just as well and we were a very small party) We should have known considering it was a pre plated menu… the first two courses were very tiny samples, which was nice to try new things that I wouldn’t normally order but it was just a tiny bite, I would have liked to at least had the option to order more, maybe it is my fault, something I am just not used to. The real problem with the pre plated menu was you could not have anything taken off, if you had an allergy or aversion. For the entrée you were allowed to choose one more lunch option and one more breakfast option, i really wish you could just choose too from both options, it was early, I wasn’t in the mood for lamb or steak. The waffles were incredible! Probably best Belgian waffle I have ever had! The dessert was great but again you couldn’t remove any of the ingredients, I had high hopes for the nutella crêpe which I saved for last, but their was banana in it and I couldn’t eat it, so it ended up being a disappointment. Overall brunch was alright. For the price I wouldn’t go again, maybe their other meals are better, maybe we will give it a try another time.

I love this place. Everything on the menu is delicious. It’s close to my work so we eat here often. I highly recommend any salad with chicken or salmon. Many people love the bento box. Not sure why it’s rated 3 stars. It deserves at least 4. Service is great and atmosphere is lovely. Eat outside if the weather is right.

5ive Restaurant resides on serene grounds that include a reception hall, a golf course, and hotel. The restaurant itself had a minimalist aesthetic, dark, heavy wood, and comfortably-upholstered chairs. There were several tempting items on the menu along with the daily specials. I started the meal with the pork belly appetizer which was nicely seared, although it was a bit richer than expected. With a maple, bourbon sauce, chunky cooked apples and golden raisins, it was both sweet and savory and perfectly prepared. For my entrée, I went with the light and flaky sea bass — one of the specials that evening. Pan-seared and(unfortunately) slightly overdone, it was served with spicy red Thai sauce and vegetables. The shaved carrots, zucchini, and summer squash were prepared in white wine and were quite good. Additionally, I appreciated the creativity of using unusual ingredients, such as purple potatoes, but found that mashed, it was a bit gummy. Dessert was delightful. The dense pound cake had a light almond flavor. It was covered in a sugary almond crust, the sweetness of which was offset by tart berries. A combination of vanilla bean cream(crème anglaise, maybe?) and caramel sauces provided additional flavor. The sole server ably handled all the tables in the restaurant and was helpful.

Restaurant is located inside the hotel/wedding venue. Typically I avoid hotel food but it came highly recommended by a colleague. The appetizers were all pretty good including: ginger shrimp, pork belly, artichoke dip with house made panini pressed pita and crab cakes. The shrimp was lightly battered and accompanied by a nice Asian relish. This was the best of the four. Would pass on the two mini crab cakes. Dinner was excellent. Had the scallops served over a bed of pumpkin risotto with grilled Brussel sprouts. Hiding in the meal was a few large pieces of pork belly? Great combo and super tasty! Chef was kind enough to plate three desserts for a tasting plate. Was excited to try the white chocolate pumpkin cheesecake, but it was just ok. The chocolate merveilleux was the clear standout. Almost as light as a mousse and had a super rich chocolate taste. Nice end to the meal. This place has a lot of history and you are allowed to tour the grounds. Unfortunately the restaurant area came later and the ambiance of the dining area needs help. This place gets five stars for food, three stars for the restaurant décor and five stars for the historic area.

This place is delicious and definitely overlooked! I have only had lunch here, so I cannot comment on their dinner service. First of all, the ambiance is very nice. During the warmer months, we have dined on the terrace which is lovely as well. The service was very good. I believe that their staff has benefited from being part of the hotel, as they have that hospitality attitude(more and more rare in the food and beverage industry, I’m sorry to say). Every item that I have ordered has been fantastic! Their soups are especially good and you can’t miss with any of their sandwiches or flatbreads. Ask for a box to take home your leftovers because you must save room for one of their desserts!

Sorry fellow Unilocalers, but on this one I would have missed an awesome meal had I listened to the latest reviews for 5ive Restaurant. Fortunately, because it was later in the evening and we were coming in after a long day of travel, we opted to dine in at the hotel(The Inn at St. John’s) In brief, we enjoyed a fantastic meal! Dinner started with appetizers and soup(chicken potstickers and 5 Onion soup — their version of the traditional Onion Soup). The flavor and presentation for the potstickers was so delicious, I asked if they made them in house. The server looked and me and said, ‘Yes. We’re serious about food here!” And serious they are. Corvina fish was on the menu. I had never had it, but was absolutely delicious. Very light and flakey and tastefully seasoned served with fall veggies and quinoa. Be sure to save room for dessert in this place. We had the carmel apple tart warmed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was not your run of the mill dessert tart hastily warmed over. No, no no… the tart was freshly baked and the treatment of the crust left no doubt that an experienced pastry chef had their hands in the mix. Frankly, I have to admit that I did not expect to have this experience at a hotel restaurant, but am thankful to have faith restored in the fact that good food can happen in any space in which people care and are serious about what they do. If you’re in Plymouth, I’d say stop here for dinner. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I was hoping this restaurant, that is located in the hotel would be a good spot to have meals. But unfortunately the food is not very good. The service was outstanding but that’s not going to be enough to bring me back

If it wasn’t for a church keeping this place in business, this place would never make it.(The church owns the church, golf course, a hotel, banquet halls, and a restaurant with a bar… Just try telling me churches aren’t businesses.) The food is in small portions, very pricey, and is very«bland;» didn’t taste like much of anything, little flavor. My friend and I both thought the same thing.(We ordered two different meals.) The hash browns had something added to them; tasted disgusting. The service was somewhat nonexistent; wasn’t busy either… was no excuse. Pass this place up. The only reason the restaurant isn’t getting 1 star from me is because it wasn’t a «horrible» experience, just very bad. If a manager or someone reads this, I’d appreciate a refund. I didn’t complain to the server because I didn’t want to embarrass my friend, otherwise, I would have. We did eat most of the food, but only because we were starving.(We drank quite a bit the night before.)

Great food. Decent service. Nice ambiance. But they’ll charge you 22% gratuity for 6+ people. I would go back to check out their normal lunch menu. I would definitely return for the brunch.

Went there on a weeknight for an early dinner. Service was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed two appetizers, seafood stew and the risotto. Dishes were nicely plated and came out hot. Dining area had mostly business people and more people were in the bar area. Nice place to take out-of-town guests. Check out the beautiful architecture and grounds. Prices $$-$$$.

I just wanted to take an opportunity to rate this wonderful, wonderful restaurant. The service was exceptional. I had the steak Panini with seasoned french fries which was absolutely delicious. The corn silk soup was amazing and I talked it off with one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. If you’re in the area this restaurant is a must.

I was a little concerned about going here due to the sketchy reviews I was seeing, but we decided to give it a chance as I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a while now. We made a reservation on a Sunday early evening and requested a booth based upon several reviews regarding small tables near the main traffic pattern. The booths were very nice, however a little tight for 4 people. We probably would have preferred a table as the views are wonderful. I was very impressed that not only did they read the reservation request for the booth, they remembered the vegetarian request and went out of their way to indicate which items were vegetarian as they handed us the menu. Everything we ordered was wonderful. The mushroom risotto was excellent, the filet was wonderful and the salmon, outstanding. Everyone in our party was happy with their meals. The server was competent and attentive, with us and the other patrons. The brownie turtlle pie I ordered for dessert was better than expected, I would recommend without hesitation. The manager stopped by our table during our meal to check on us although we had no complaints at all. Give the restaurant a visit as they seem to have dealt with any issues they have had.

The food here was four star, but there were a few things that made be give them only three stars. Both my wife and I were not in the mood for a large meal so we both ordered from the tapas menu. I started with a Caesar salad. I often ordered a Caesar since I am a «tomatophobe» and tomatoes should never get near a Caesar salad — -but not here, in spite of the fact that I told the waitress that I wanted no tomatoes on anything the Caesar came with a spoonful of a sun dried tomato relish on the end of a bread cracker resting in the middle of the bowl – it ruined half the salad. We both had the truffled spring corn velvet soup and it was very tasty, but it came with no bread or cracker side — maybe because we did not order a main entrée. It needed something more than a stand alone cup of soup. Finally I got the crab beignets and they were good, but I should have known that there was a lot dough with a little bit of crab— and there was —they were very tasty though. My wife ended with a chicken spinach salad and loved it.

Had a really tasty meal here last night. Sat outside on the very nice patio and dove into their accomplished beer and wine list for a few glasses. Entrees here are quite expensive, so we opted for a scattering of small plates off of their lengthy and impressive menu of appetizers, tapas, flatbreads and sandwiches. Had the calimari and crab beignets to start with excellent accompanying dipping sauces. Both were great and the calimari especially was one of the best iterrations I’ve had. Corn soup that the GF had was the weakest of the food related items. Surprisingly little corn flavor and somewhat lumpy texture. Stay away. Had the bacon and chicken quesadilla after, which was excellent. Came with a small amount of the best guacamole I’ve ever tasted. They need to up the portion and put it on as an app somewhere. Service was freindly but slow. Didnt really mind because of the company, wine, and beautiful weather/view, but do not come here expecting a quick«in and out». Overall, some really tasty food items and I look forward to visiting again.

I love the venue. The Inn is beautiful and was decorated for the Holidays so even more so. The restaurant was nice, but small as others mentioned. We went on a Monday night and practically had the place to ourselves. So much so they seated us at the Chef’s Table, which is located in the center of the room. ??? Anyway, appetizers were good. I ordered a feta fondue, thinking fondue. However, it was basically a feta dip. Tasty, but I was expecting fondue. The others ordered the flatbread pizza app which they said was good(i didn’t sample because it had meat on it). Entrée was the disappointment. I ordered one of the specials, the Ono Fish. I thought it was dry and not tasty. I have never had it before so have nothing to compare to but I was not a fan. I did love the ceasar salad but another person in my party said there was not enough dressing on their salad. All in all ambiance was great, service was good and food was«a-ok.» But the bill was large…
