The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf

I went to coffee bean today because it was FREEZING outside in NOHO! I went with my redheaded brother only to be stumped by the menu. There were so many great options we both didnt know what to get. The amazing and absolutely flawless leon (so sorry if i spelled that wrong) helped us pick a GREAT tea and humored us the entire time we were there. He made the both of us feel welcomed and had us laughing practically the entire time. This particular employee is absolutely fantastic and deserves an award for how he connects with customers! Ive gone to starbucks, peets coffee, urth café, its a grind etc and i have never met anyone as great as leon. He pays attention to what youre in the mood for and has amazing suggestions. I wish the absolute best to you leon and i look forward to seeing you everytime i go to coffeebean!

I’ve just recently started frequenting this particular CB&TL and it definitely feels nice to have a decent coffee shop within walking distance of my home. I would choose it over Starbucks any day. My drinks have been consistently well-​made, although I’ve always felt that CB&TL in general (not just this location) makes their flavored drinks much too sweet. But I suppose I prefer sweet over bitter, so can’t complain too much.
It’s a quiet and relaxed atmosphere, but the one really big downside to this place is that they have no accessible outlets to plug your laptop into! As far as I can tell, they’ve blocked off all the outlets with small metal plates. Kinda lame of them, seeing as coffee shops are sort of a haven for working outside the office/​home. But maybe it’s because they don’t want people hanging out all day? I’d certainly spend plenty of money there throughout the day if I could stay and recharge my laptop… at least they’ve got free wifi to use for however long your laptop does last.

Too small for the location. I know they don’t have any control of that but when you are a coffee place with free wifi, for me it’s a little claustrophobic every time I am in there. Staff is great and super nice. Coffee is hot and fresh.

Just your average Coffee Bean. I only go to this location because it is near my old apartment. The staff is decent. Kind of slow with orders and there is one employee in particular who likes to talk to her friends way too much. Don’t come here if you are in a rush. Otherwise, it’s a pleasant little place to take a load off.

I always come here before work and everyone is super friendly.
One time about a year ago I came in and ordered a mocha latte and then just kind of spaced out till they called my name. In my morning haze I mistakenly took the wrong drink from the counter (completely my fault) but it ended up being amaaazing. My coworkers and I tried to figure out what this mystery drink was but couldn’t come up with any concrete answer. Ever since then I’ve been «chasing the coffee dragon» by ordering different things off the menu and its gotten me out of my mocha rut. Maybe it was a seasonal thing… I dunno.
Anyway, this location is dope and all the employees deserve raises

Walk in every morning and order the manliest drink on their menu, the pomegranate blueberry latte soy.

I love coffee bean, I would choose it over Starbucks any day. This coffee bean is a cute location, easy parking, but I wouldn’t really choose to come here. I only come here because I go to the gym next to it.
Im knocking off these 2 stars because of my last experience. I came in just to buy a water and coconut water. A woman was in front of me. At first I thought she was complaining about another coffee bean. Kinda understandable, but then it turned into a 7 min convo. Trust me, I was looking at my phone and had only a few minutes to work out. There were 3 people working. I guess it takes 2 people to make a drink. After those 7 mins went by, I finally said I was in a hurry and I need to go. The guy told me sorry and rang me up. Then told the lady he was talking to sorry and it will be a minute. REALLY??? More people were coming in too. That kid is lucky that he doesnt work the busy shifts because he would definitely be the cause of a lot of people walking out.

Great staff that is not only super friendly, but knows their product and made me a fantastic sugar free blended mocha, add an extra shot of espresso and chocolate covered espresso beans and it was a perfect lunch to fuel me through a long hot afternoon.
Prices are fair, store is clean and well kept, my favorite place to grab coffee.

I use to work for Starbucks but I must say Coffee Bean has more to offer. There are so many more flavors of tea and their iced coffee is made with powder instead of syrup. This gives the drink a much more creamy flavor.
This location is wonderful in customer service, quality and speed of service. The location is perfect as well because I can walk to it from work. All of the employees are fast, friendly and efficient.

This coffee place is a coffee place. They made me a fancy coffee. It was good. Good job on delivering. End.

They make a good hot dark roast and a good (if inconsistent) iced coffee. Sometimes it’s great, sometimes it tastes a little muddy. Staff is nice, service is generally quick, place is clean. So why not a higher rating?
1. Parking is a nightmare. Yes, they validate in the lot, but half the time that’s full too. I’m good at finding street parking, but be aware — go 10 seconds over your meter and there will be a ticket.
2. I can’t seem to go without getting accosted outside. Sometimes it’s the Herbalife folks giving me a high five (ok, but before I’ve had my coffee? really?) Sometimes it’s people asking for money. Sometimes it’s men commenting on my butt. They’re often right outside the door making it less than comfortable to walk down the street. I do it, because caffeine addict, but still.
3. The clientele inside. You can’t get a table. Generally I grab and go, but the few times I’ve wanted to take a seat, it wasn’t an option. There are people holding business meetings, people with their full-​sized PC set up doing god knows what, and people who sit for hours, not buying much. Just using the WIFI and chilling. It doesn’t seem like the very nice staff does much about it.

G-​H-​E-​T-​T-​O !! I work nearby and always pass by. Sometimes I buy something. Every evening, there’s dudes in there just hanging out, not buying anything and using up the WIFI. One guy, who is a regular there, actually comes in with a full size Mac PC (not a Macbook) and stays there for hours. I know because I walk by the place often in the night. Crazy! On 5−15−15 at about 9:30PM, there was 4 young guys actually having a damn dice game, gambling on the floor, inside! The employees are intimidated to say anything. This place isn’t a relaxing place at ALL in the evening. Ghetto!!! I’m contacting CBTL corporate about this too.

The guys there are very nice, theres one girl that always get my drink wrong! Other than that customer service is great, food and drinks

I go to this coffee bean regularly and it is by far my favorite. They are fast, friendly, and the location is SUPER convenient since its right by the gym I frequent =) Joe is my favorite barista, hands down.

This place has come a long way since opening a few years ago. The seating is way better and you need a code for the restrooms which keeps them cleaner. The service has always been top-​notch here and I really like coming here.

All I can say is that they forgot to make my order when I was the only customer. Then the workers were like «I thought you were making it.» «No I thought you were making it.» Though she did upgrade me to a large for free. So I guess I’ll give 3 stars instead of 2.
I ordered the Pear Berry Tea Ganitas. It tastes exactly like pear and berries but it’s not as pleasant tasting as I was hoping. The Passion Tea Lemonade at Starbucks is a better and cheaper alternative.

I’m not the type of person that likes to linger around a coffee shop, but this place makes me want to sit and relax. It’s in a busy intersection yet… Sitting outside sipping on my frappé makes it relaxing. I love it!
There are never really long lines you typically see.
No drive thru.
Parking is somewhat bearable.
There’s a chase bank right on front.

Nice indoors. Clean interior and sweet background music. Coffee beans of your favourite blend, coffee makers, teas abd cups are for sale. Great choice of hot and cold drinks. Cakes and snacks.
Friendly staff are always ready to answer your questions and you are kindly offered to get a cake along with your choice of a drink. They have plain water too.
Great polite service, extra miles, WiFi, clean restrooms etc.
Real 5 star place.
The only bad thing is parking. No private lot. So you probably want to walk here, otherwise you’ll have to circle around in search of a spot.

Solid location right across the street from the North Hollywood Metro Station. When I used to commute from the Orange Line out in the valley, this Coffee Bean was my transition stop for a cup of joe.
The bathroom requires a token and is for customers only, so if you’re thinking you’ll be able to stop in and just use the restroom, you’ll be disappointed.
Friendly staff. Clean store. Good drinks and treats.
