Breakfast quesadilla with sausage was very good. It’s huge! The coffee is terrible.

Wow, terrible. If you want more than a beer find someplace else. If you want a beer be prepared for the«friendly and professional» wait staff. Menu has maybe 20 mediocre and generic things on it, and I wouldn’t count on anything being too fresh(salad with plenty of brown leaves in it and plenty of flies around) you can never expect too much from airport restaurants but this one is one of the worst…

This restaurant is located in the main hall of the Norfolk International Airport(in the same part of the building as the ticketing and baggage claim, before the TSA security checkpoint). The Varsity could be so much better than it is and it wouldn’t take much effort. When we arrived here, nearly every seat was taken, simply because it’s one of the few decent restaurant options that doesn’t include fast food or cold, pre-packaged sandwiches. They have an acceptable beer and drink menu, but their food offerings are very limited(5 or 6 sandwich options, 2 soups, 2 salads and 2 desserts to choose from and not much else). Also, the waitress wasn’t very friendly and came on a bit strong, even when when asked basic, common questions such as which beers were on tap. The quality of the food wasn’t great. Two of the people in our party had grilled chicken salads and didn’t finish them as they were pretty bad; I had the beef brisket sandwich which was fairly tasteless, especially considering how tasty the description in the menu made it sound. Next time I fly out of this airport, I’ll be stopping somewhere to grab a bite on the way.
