This place has great service and a friendly staff. The menu is the standard one at all carrabas but the food is very good

Now I know the Carrabba’s food chain isn’t a fine dining experience by any stretch of the imagination, but I’ve normally had good service and decent food when I’ve dined at other locations. However, I had never been to this location in Newport News before. I placed an curbside to-go order and it was ready in a promptly, timely manner. I looked into the bag to ensure there were an appropriate amount of containers and alas, there were. I glanced at the check and price seemed right, so I paid and went home. When I got home, I opened the containers and I got a side portion of Alfredo, when I actually ordered an entrée– and my side portion, there were probably only four small bites within this side portion. I called the restaurant and spoke with a manager, she told me to come in and they’d give me the appropriate food. I drove 20 mins back to the restaurant and they didn’t really offer any compensations other than giving me an extra appetizer, which was less than satisfactory as I can barely even finish one appetizer, let alone devouring a second one. I got out to my car and checked the order a SECOND time around and utensils and bread were forgotten as well. This was handled accordingly and I finally got bread after standing at the to-go counter for five minutes while the to-go waitress was socializing. I then drove 20 mins back home and got out the food for my household and alas, my salad was forgotten too! I understand that people make mistakes, so I went back [initially] with no problem. However, making numerous, repetitive mistakes on the same order is absolutely less than satisfactory and completely absurd! The to-go people have one job– ensure the customer gets the food they ordered. Maybe you shouldn’t work there if you cannot handle this very simplistic job. The management didn’t even seem to care either. I will firmly say that I will never eat at this Carrabba’s ever again and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially with food that’s below par.

I have always passed by this restaurant going to the premium outlets, so I decided to try it and I ordered a chicken dish that was burnt and tasted bad. I will never go back again

Super slow. Got here with a twenty min wait and an hr later we left with still no table. There were multiple tables open and the restaurant wasn’t even that packed. Will not be coming back horrible service.

The service wasn’t great and it was super slow, even though there were hardly any customers in the restaurant. I was very disappointed with the food. If the food comes in small portions and costs a decent amount($ 15 – 20), then you would expect the food to be good… This was our first and last time we will be eating here. If you’re looking for an Italian restaurant, then definitely skip this place and head straight to Olive Garden.

This is our second time to this Location. The food is always amazing and the service was wonderful. The Fettuccine Weezie is amazing and so is the Lobster Raviloi. The kids always devour the pizzas. The only downfall this time was our food coming out cold. The restaurant was very, very busy and I think the staff just got weeded. They brought out a new dish quickly and we still enjoyed a wonderful meal. The 20% off coupon on Unilocal definitely helped soften the blow of the mess up.

One of the more consistent chains we go to. Surprisingly good menu with something for everyone including kids. We asked for one of the seafood dishes to be done ‘plain’ which was no problem. This is a good indication dishes are not pre-staged from corporate. The calamari, soups, salads and entrées were all solid. Sahara was our waitress and she was great.

I love this place! It’s always pretty busy but once seated the bread with the olive oil and herbs is a delicious start. The food overall rarely disappoints. The dessert is amazing! And I never order dessert at other places. Pretty crowded on Friday and Saturday, but where isn’t?

We like this place better than the Olive Garden. Fresh food, the bread is no comparison and the variety is fantastic.

Went last week with my wife. Appetizers were great, salad was great, then my wife found a roach in her food! Disgusted. Our consolation, a 25 dollar gift card and a constant feeling of wanting to vomit.

To me, this is the worlds most friendliest restaurant. From Teresa, our waitress taking our order to the bartender sharing biking stories and beer varieties with us and everyone else that worked there, they made us out-of-towners feel welcome. The food was great too. No complaints whatsoever.

I ordered online and used a gift card that was given to me as a Christmas gift. Process was easy and then when we got there to pick it up, the staff was nice and friendly. Tasty and very flavorful food, but the serving size was somewhat smaller than I expected. Next time I will dine in.

Ok, I must say, after living in Orlando with all the amazing restaurants and people who really know what customer service is all about(thanks to Disney), this is the ONLY place I’ve been to locally that could survive. The service was superb, the food prep and plating was beautiful, the flavors… awesome! Special request? DONE!!! I makes a big difference when the managers love what they do, their staff and their guests… and it shows. Well done! Look forward to my next visit.

Great bread, good food, great service. I had the shrimp and scallops along with the panna cotta and it was pretty good. We happened to be there during happy hour so we filled up on wine and their recommended beer.

My family and I are regulars here! The service is always top notch and so is the food. Scott, the owner, is always visible on the floor, checking tables, smiling and greeting guests. Thanks for always providing such a great dining experience.

Met my family for desert. I arrived a bit early to eat dinner also. I usually stay far away from chains but mom insisted. There was a group of six. We were sat quickly and met the kindest and professional servers I’ve ever met. Her name was Ayisha. The food was great but her service was above the mark. Monday’s are«monday amore» where they serve a prefix 12÷15÷18 with a app or desert, salad or soup, entrée. The apps were plenty and the food delicious. I had a hearty portion of calamari, house salad, and chicken Bryan with Broc. Everything was cooked perfectly, grilled nicely, and served from a gracious host. Try the sangria. It’s one of the best! Desserts and coffees were what my party were after and our table was flooded with them. Trios, tiramisu, Cannoli, ice cream with roasted nuts. My fav was on the trio. The chocolate dream. Was way nice. Come. It’s good food. Great service. Good prices. All surprising for a chain. Refreshing actually. Ask for Ayisha! She truly is one of the best I’ve experienced!

I remember when this location first opened. A few friends and I were so anxious to check it out. Delicious italian food! I love the pasta here. Very flavorful. I would’ve given 5 stars but I had to take away one because the portions are extremely small for what you pay. However, it is a more welcomed alternative than olive garden. I’d like to see them either enlarge their portions or reduce prices. Being that neither of those are likely to happen, i’ll just dine in from time to time, not frequently.

Standard Carrabba’s — have stopped in here a few times while traveling through Hampton and hungry. Always had good service and food and this Carrbbas’ is really close to the interstate so it’s easy to hop off and grab some food and hop back on. Love their bread and marsala chicken. It’s yummy. Not much more I can say… because it’s Carrabba’s and it’s a huge chain so they are all pretty much the same but I’ve never had a bad experience here.

The good : — Service: Jessica was good It looked like she was busy with tables scattered everywhere and she took care of us pretty well. I believe the manager on duty also came by to check up on us. Jessica filled our glasses and cleared our table in a timley manner. –Happy Hour: M-F ½ off appetizers at the bar only, ½ off 4 diff drinks(pom martini, margarita and 2 others), 1 caraffe of sangria for the price of a glass(which is basically half a glass more) and other 1 liquor alcohols for half off. — Interior: aesthetically pleasing The ok: — Food was average. The shrimp and scallop pasta a’la vodka was ok. The sauce was too watery, the scallop taste was overwhelming and there were only 2 pieces of tiny shrimp in the entire entrée. My friend got a side of fettucine alfredo as her meal. It was a generous sized side for 5 $ and was not too overwhelming. The complimentary bread was warm and tasted good. It came served with a garlic basil spice that jessica mixed in with olive oil for us. We enjoyed the bread with butter better. Overall, i’ll return if my group wants to go here :)

It’s cold here. Bring your winter coat when it’s 80 outside. Service here was very good. Drinks kept full. Bread kept coming AND with a fresh plate of spices/oil every time. Food came out in a timely manner. We tried the new Chicken Bryan Pizza. Wow, they nailed that dish on a pizza. EXCELLENT! Kid 1 got an adult fried ravioli meal. It seemed small but he kept eating and nothing was disappearing. It has a lot more than you realize. Kid 2 got the kid ravioli. She liked the adult fried version better. In the future they can split the adult meal. As usual the salad and soup here blow me away. The caesar was super fresh, full of spice, and better than I remember. The fagioli soup rocks. Sausage and lentils. Even my husband who is leary of lentils loves it. We could come eat soup and salad here and be happy. It’s always yummy. Menu has changed recently, but the best stuff is still on there, plus a few new items that were good.

Since we moved from Hawaii my husband went on and on about coming to Carrabba’s for dinner. My first visit was outside Washington D. C and needless to say that I was happy we went. I ordered the kebob uhm … thing … and … you can never go wrong with meat on a stick, add a little bit of mashed potatoes and voila! a nice meal. Had the minestrone soup that time and it was yummy, I could have had that alone and been one happy camper. I always order the Italian soda whenever I go somewhere where they have it, and did so here too but was a liiiittle bit disappointed, I could have gone with more fitz in mine. The flavor was okay tho. But what made that visit probably THE best visit was the desert that I had, yes. that I had. No one was allowed to touch that. John Cole. I think I died for a moment. Might have been the roasted cinnamon rum pecans. Might have been the caramel sauce. Might have been a combination of both. But it was lovely. John Cole is my new best friend. And I promise, I will see him again.
