When I was in highschool, I’d come to Frank’s. It introduced me to «wings.» I love chicken wings and have eaten them all over the country. Frank’s still may be my favorite wings. I still love this place, although I don’t get here as much as I’d like to. It’s nice to know that after 20 years, it’s still the same

Great food!!! Ordered two hot dogs, Mac and cheese wedges which were phenomenal. Also got a half pound of the medium wings and a half pound of the garlic wings. The hot dogs are typical dogs. Cannot say enough about the Mac and cheese wedges. The wings were great as well. The staff was very very friendly and welcoming, something I think is missing from restaurants these days. Their friendliness ensured I will be returning. If I had any gripe it would be the food is kind of expensive. You can order half pound or pound orders of wings. However a half pound may seem like a lot but it is only 4 wings. So just assume a pound is 8 and that is about $ 7.25. Check this place out.

If you know real buffalo wings then you’ll appreciate this place! Their hot dogs are sourced from a well known Buffalo, NY company and are simply the best. Try one(or 2)!

This place was an excellent find after the Grayslake Beer festival. I had a burger and my husband had the hot wings. Both were delicious and the curly fries were tasty. The restaurant was clean and the everyone was very friendly. Will definitely return again.

My fondest memories come from Franks. Some of the best wings and pita sandwiches I’ve had. It’s a Mundelein staple that should always be appreciated for all the sponsorships and support it has giving to the community. 10⁄10 eat here all the time

A must visit when in Mundelein. They specialize in chicken wings from the Buffalo, NY area. The sides are also very complementary to the wings.

I would give this place 5 stars back in the 90’s through maybe half way through the 2,000’s but this place has definitely changed. The wings are a lot smaller than they use to be. I expected the prices to jump due to supply and demand. They’re barely meat on the bones anymore. The sauce is still excellent. I hate saying this but I find myself rather going to «Buffalo Wild Wings» than here now a days. Don’t get me wrong this place is the heart of Mundelein but still. Not what I’m use to anymore!

Local joint with a long history of producing some of the best wings in Lake County. You don’t have to wait long to try their wings with various sauces. 9⁄10

Best damn wings ever. You can tell that the people behind the counter are passionate about the food and want to produce something of high quality and authenticity. You won’t find better wings anywhere.

I’m not overly impressed with this place. I drive through here practically everyday and never stopped until today. Service was friendly, not too large of a menu and they don’t have boneless wings(if you’re looking for those). They have tenders which are as close to boneless wings that you can get here. They sell their wings by the pound(½ pound, 1 pound, 2 pounds and up). I didn’t order any wings but did order buffalo style chicken tenders which were good. They weren’t «the best damn tenders» I’ve ever had but they were good. Were they worth $ 7.00? Absolutely not. It comes with a small fry which is cool but perhaps if I got a drink with the«combo», it may have been worth the $ 7.00. Along with the tenders, I ordered a burger to try the meat. It was good. Again, not incredible but the flavors were good and I would certainly try it again if I come back. The burger was $ 5.00 if I’m not mistaking and that doesn’t come with any side. So, again, fairly expensive for a burger(it was a fairly small burger patty). The burger was LOADED with onion, too powerful so I had to remove a lot of it to taste the burger. I did ask for a water cup and the gentleman was kind enough to provide to me. The water is in a water cooler on the counter, those ones you would find at a football game on the sidelines. It was strange but considering the overall décor, nothing fancy, it’s something you’d expect. The napkins on the table were a little dirty, as it looked like someone with ketchup fingers reached for a couple and they haven’t replaced them. I think it may be time for that, it was a little gross. The service was good, weren’t the nicest people in the world but they also weren’t rude in any way. Please, thank you, etc. it was typical. I haven’t tried all the menu items to really comment on the other food but I may stop back to experiment with the wings and other sides. It’s not cheap(dropped $ 12 on 3 tenders, small fry and a small burger) and the décor isn’t something I’d be running back for more of. It’s what you’d expect from a place like this. 4 stars because it was«amazing».

My boyfriend just recently got me into chicken wings and I’m beyond glad he did! Seriously, my new obsession. We both decided we are on the new hunt for the best chicken wings. Therefore, this decision led us to Frank’s. I mean, they were awarded for the best wings in 2011. When we arrived, the place wasn’t busy at all(love when that happens). We ordered the garlic and buffalo wings as well as the macaroni and cheese wedges. The wings were fantastic and full of immense flavor. The blue cheese also makes it delicious! Do I think they are the best wings out there? Probably not, but they are quite delectable and finger lickin’ good! However, I have to say, those Mac and cheese wedges are, by the far, THEBEST. My first bite took me to a new world. Seriously, order those! You won’t regret it. Will I be back to Frank’s? Heck yes, but I’m still on the mission for the best wings.

One of my favorite dive spots for lunch. Wings with the crunch on the outside but the meat itself is nice and tender. They don’t use a breading so all you are getting is the wing. Far better than BWW. The sauces are full flavor. I usually order the Medium or the Garlic. The Garlic really is nothing more than a butter and garlic mixture but it is so good. You order by the pound(6 or 7 wings according to the menu) and even better, Monday through Thursday, you can order all flats or all drums for $ 1 more. Blue cheese or ranch is extra. Lunch time they are usually very busy and it takes about 15 minutes for your order although I have had it take up to 25 minutes a couple times, so if you want to just run in and pick up a fast lunch, call ahead.

Wings are ok/good not great. A little chewy. Sauce is good but greasy. Not buttery if that’s what you prefer and not enough! Negative rating is for their pricing practice. You get a pound of wings(7 according to the menu) for $ 6.75. I only got 6. When you inquire, they show you the fine print that says may be about 6 – 7 wings). So I paid a bit over $ 1/wing for what appear to be standard size wings that are ok but nothing special. Ranch is another dollar if you want it. Ambience? No. Old Booth seating with a bunch of signs from NY. You’re in Mundelein… you should take your NY pricing back to NY.

Best wings I’ve ever had. This opinion has been strong for 25 years and I eat A LOT of wings. Franks is my numba 1. I just wish my stomach was larger so I could consume more in one sitting.

Second time there Last time was about 4 years ago and was not impressed. Thought I would give it another try. Customer service was great. I phoned in my order 2 lbs garlic, girl on phone was great, said order would take 10 – 15 min. When I arrive there where 10 people eating at the tables and about 4 – 5 people waiting for there order. Pretty busy for Sunday at 12:30 I thought. I get my order and pay. The guy who took rang my order up was very nice made small talk and thanked me for coming in. I knew he had to be a good guy, he had a Cubs hat on. Wing tasted great!!! Only reason I didn’t give a 5 was the price. A dollar a wing a little to much .75cent a wing would be better.

Frank’s is a nice little dive that serves some fantastic wings. Quality is consistent and I haven’t had a sauce I don’t like. Their golden sauce is very unique and by far my favorite, but every sauce here is packed with flavor. They also offer a variety of other options and fried foods such as my favorite the Mac n cheese wedges. The only complaints are that they are on the pricier side, especially next to all the bars and buffalo wild wings that have discount days. They also only have one type of bbq sauce.

come here for the wings of course! I was in the general area on a sleepy Saturday afternoon. It was not quite busy but we did see somewhat a steady flow of regulars so you know this is a good spot. Menu wise, it would satisfy any greasy American food craving and great value too. They have the usual burger and Italian beef sandwiches which was actually quite tempting to me, but then I reminded myself why we even chose to come here. Its about the wings. Their large sign outside indicates this is a place for wings touting their buffalo style wings. So I wrestled with garlic and normal hot wings… eh why bother, get em both! So traditional buffalo style wings are usually drenched in butter and then hot sauce… The garlic butter variety was quite good, especially when mixed with some hot sauce too. I imagine both vampire hunters and fans of seafood joints that love the garlic drenched rolls would enjoy this concoction of flavors. Eat em hot cause after a little bit of cooling and downing a few already, you’ll be wondering why you ordered hot wings. Where’s my beer to forget that«memory»?(see what I did there?) Oh, one more thought…“Franks for the Memories”…makes me think I should get me some hot dogs instead of wings?

Visiting my BFF and she introduced me to franks. Obviously had to get the wings. Got 1 pound of butter garlic wings, a small curly fry and an order of Mac and cheese wedges. The wings are quite pricey at $ 1/wing. That said they are on the large side, meaty and cooked nice and crispy. The butter garlic was tasty, I could’ve gone for a bit more garlic though! The fries and mac & cheese wedges were both good as well. Service was quick and friendly.

Review for wings A little history lesson of this place and its owners. The owners are originally from Buffalo New York so they have an original Buffalo wing recipe. The owners are and have been Mundelein residents for many years. The place is small and it does have a small dining area if you want to eat there. They also have tables outside for when the weather gets warmer. I called and placed an order for wings to go. They asked if we were going to eat the wings right away or reheat the wings for later on. They asked this so they would only partially bake the wings so you can finish them off right before you serve them. We ended up ordering 5 lbs. of the wings(medium heat). I followed the directions that they gave us and I have to say that our guest as well as I enjoyed them. They even give you a tub of wing sauce to place on the wings before or after you reheat them. Overall good wings and we would order them again for when we have another party and want to add wings to the menu.
