Was unfortunate to arrive in time to overhear a guy Manager embarrass a waiter for bringing water to a table instead of selling bottled water and to ONLY bring bread if they ask for it. Already rubbed the wrong way, I ordered TAP water ANDBREAD right away. enjoyed the Lobster Bisque,.however NINE dollars for ONE measuring cup of soup ? Our table ordered tuna cones to share. They made a nice presentation but they had some sour oddball flavor and decided the tuna was not as fresh as it should have been… again, the price for these tiny things was ridiculous. We also ordered a Fisherman’s Platter,(deep fried Cod, a few fried shrimp, a few fried clams and some frozen French fries ~ an ugly monotone dish hardly worth the exhorbitant price here), Scallops on quinoa,(beautiful presentation, BLAND and certainly NOT worth the price), Lobster stuffing,(FIVEDOLLARS for a small scoopful~did it measure half a cup? Seared Tuna on purple rice… a tiny portion. We also shared a huge three pound lobster. The view was beautiful, but the price to pay for this place’s food is just way too much… charging five star prices for average seafood and barely fill ya portions. Our waitress told us that the nasty manager was last year’s bartender and everyone was displeased with his arrogant attitude. Apparently, she said, the power has gone to his head. I thought that was very funny and sad at the same time. We won’t bother coming back here until I hear they’ve changed things around. Someone suggested THEINLET and that was a FAR nicer place, better food, better feel… also enjoyed The Harvest.

This is a three star restaurant, but our experience was a 2.5 at best given the incessant screaming of the baby at the adjacent table. I am a mother of 3; if you take your children out for dinner at 9PM, this is likely to happen. We had no reservation and the hostess indicated a 20 minute wait. It took about a half hour to be seated, after a more senior employee intervened. Dinner was uneven. My blackened tuna and black rice was a 5, but it came with a weird side of soybeans with a sauce and no substitution was allowed. The friendly waitress managed to snag some mediocre cole slaw instead, saying that she could do that on her own. My husband’s striped bass special with rice had way too many flavors all mixed together in one plate. Huge restaurant, touristy atmosphere but nice to eat outdoors and great view.

Came here for lunch for labor day Sunday. We had to wait around 5min for a table even tho they were multiple empty tables. We each ordered a drink, then we started with 2 dozens of oysters. After we finished them, we ordered another 2 dozens. We had the 1 ¼ lobster, scallops x2 and the jumbo shrimp. They were all very fresh and delicious. We each paid $ 102, which I thought was a lot especially for lunch, but the food was really fresh and good. I would recommend going for a nice seafood meal!

Nice views and decent food. We each ordered a salad and shared the fisherman’s sampler. Was more than enough for lunch. Definitely paying for the location $ 75 for lunch(shared entrée) with two drinks.

It was very nice to have dinner here after our little day trip to the Montauk lighthouse point. The food, service and atmosphere was very nice. You may have to wait 30min or so for a table, however it’s totally worth it! My bf and I really enjoyed our datenight here! It was very romantic :) thank you Gosmans restaurant staff and members for this lovely restaurant right on the harbor!

The boyfriend and I had dinner here yesterday, after a wonderful day just enjoying all Montauk has to offer. He had been here before and wasn’t impressed but, we were hungry. He had the Lobster tails, I had the organic salmon. The salmon came with a potato pancake that was fried harder than a rock! I had a little piece and actually hurt my tooth, trying to chew it! Four little pieces of asparagus… really? I also had the beet salad for starters, it was decent. He was again, not impressed overall. He did however say he enjoyed the lobster bisque soup. We split a bottle of sparkling water. The bill was about $ 97 bucks!!! Really, really? The view and the service were excellent. I don’t need to try it again, we won’t be returning. We dined around six, dinner time.

We came back starving and a little sunburnt after a whale watching trip, so we got an inside table by an the open window overlooking the inlet. Fantastic seafood-house offerings with some fancier dishes as well. We started with the tuna tartare cones, a great unique little presentation for a dish that’s been everpresent lately. I had a bowl of delicious lobster bisque, and for lunch I had the fried fisherman platter and it was fantastic– well seasoned and came out crispy and fresh, with a giant slab of flounder underneath a pile of clam strips(fresh and tender, not rubbery) and a couple of butterflied shrimp. My girlfriend had a greek salad with grilled marinated shrimp, it was very tasty and light.

Sadly the worst lobster roll in Montauk. At the Clam Bar. A plain and not tasty hotdog bun, not even toasted or buttered. Bland lobster. Was disappointing considering the price.

If you’re ever in Montauk you HAVE to go to this restaurant. Family owned & operated since 1950, this is as good as it gets for fresh seafood. Our server, Adriene, was awesome & gave us a bit of history not only of the restaurant, but Montauk in general. My wife & I shared a special that came with 2 appetizers, a 2 lb lobster, corn on the cob & a side. It was a cool summer night & we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We will definitely make it a point to go out to Gosmans the next time we are out in Montauk.

I had the Lobster bisque which taste like cheddar cheese soup and the Swordfish was to moist. This was our first time eating here and I don’t think I would try it again.

I’ve been coming to this spot for years with family. Service is very kind and location is picturesque. You can dine inside or outside on the patio and watch the fishing boats come in and out of the harbor. On my most recent visit, I came with my parents, aunt & uncle, boyfriend and 4 kids. 2 of the kids have extreme but allergies. The waitress was great and doubled checked with the chef to see what the kids could eat. As far as the food goes, everything is extremely fresh. Most of their seafood dishes are caught the same day. My mom and I had the Block Island scallops, which was the catch of the day. The dish came with red quinoa and was excellent! My dad and bf shared the lobster bake. It came with a 3lb lobster(which was cut in half upon arrival at our table). Both got to choose between muscles or baked clams for an app and either a baked potato or French fries for a side. The dish also came with an ear of corn and coleslaw for both. All of this for $ 60, great deal! And was delicious. We split a bottle of wine for $ 40 for the table which wasn’t bad, drinks were also moderately priced. We started out with margaritas for $ 11.

talk about the view this restaurant offers! i recommend seating outside! The seafood was very fresh, we had some oysters and clams and they were delicious, for our main meal we had the lobster and the salmon, both were delicious, cooked to perfection. The kids had some mac and cheese which it was so so so good, i almost wanted to trade my salmon for the mac haha. the staff is very friendly and attentive. If youre in montauk, please take a moment to grab a meal here, you wont regret it!

Gosman’s has always been a great Montauk staple and go to restaurant for fresh seafood. It is certainly keeping up with the younger vibe that has been recently invading Montauk and you can’t go wrong by grabbing a meal here. Most recently I enjoyed dinner with a group of friends on a busy evening. We did wait awhile for a table but that was expected as we were a large party with no reservation. We grabbed drinks at the bar inside and I would recommend just sticking to beer. The signature drinks are way too sweet(we had several different kinds) and there’s a garnish overload. Everyone really enjoyed dinner and I’ll just rattle off a few recommendations… Stuffed lobster(seafood stuffing is really spot on — I had the 1 ¼ lb and it was a huge portion), stuffed shrimp, surf and turf, 3lb lobster, fisherman’s platter(fried fish, clam strips and shrimp), fried fantail shrimp platter(SO fresh!), swordfish entrée, twin lobster tails(huge) and the New England clam chowder is incredible. Can’t wait to go back and our waitress, Anna, was fantastic!

Lets get to the point, I Stopped by for lunch today and I had the snapper special that I loved. A friend that I was with got a burger that she said was just ok, nothing to brag about(I mean it is just a burger anyway). The service was good for montauk, it was a little expensive. Check it out if you are around the area.

We had the perfect evening at Gosman’s! Every single dish was delicious. We started with oysters and the salad special of the day. I enjoyed the salmon and my husband got the dayboat scallop special. The scallops were a huge hit! The service and views are top notch. Would highly recommend!

Only one extra star for the really nice view and the nice waitress. The food was quite unfortunate — over cooked lobster for $ 32 and very badly seasoned pasta with shrimp. The best part of the meal was the baked potato… Maybe the restaurant wasn’t quite geared up for season as our visit was a weekday just prior to Memorial Day…

Came here for dinner with a group of girlfriends and was very disappointed in the service or lack there of. Our friends had already sat down and ordered and me and two of my other friends joined later. They had explained to our waitress that we were running a bit late but to expect us. When we sat down we had to ask at least three waitstaff to take our orders and instead of just helping us they kept replying«ok let me find your waitress» after at least ten mins she finally came over to take our orders and I asked for water and a setting. Once the dinner arrived we ate and chatted and we’re ready for the bill but had to keep flagging down staff to refill water etc. My one pet peeve is when you end up doing more work than the actual waiters. It was ridiculous. We made sure to ask for the bill at least fifteen minutes before exiting. Never again. Oh and the food was very mediocre and overpriced.

One of the stars that I’m giving them, is just for the memories of the last 40 years of my family coming here every summer. I was surprised to see the wait staff decked out like a four star restaurant. They are as always friendly and professional but there was quite a difference in the tone of the restaurant. The food was good however I do miss the more rustic and casual atmosphere of this restaurant in years gone by. I also miss the striped bass and bluefish and more meaty fish that used to be on the menu. Still all in all, a great dinner to have.
