This seafood market is awesome — they have a wide selection of seafood, including sushi-grade tuna, and most of it is local. Bonus points for also carrying fresh produce, like delicious heirloom tomatoes, so that I can minimize my grocery shopping time and maximize my beach time. Be careful in the parking lot — I nearly got run over by a pickup truck full of lobsters. Would not have been a pleasant way to die.

The people who work here are great and it’s well-run. my favorites: striped bass, seaweed salad, delicious local cherries and corn, nori and everything to make sushi rolls. You will find lots of imports and there are also homemade pies, vegan-friendly frozen items like cashew-based ice cream and veggie/black bean burgers so it’s pretty eclectic. They will do lobster bakes for you ordered ahead of time, and often they have BBQ baby back ribs cooked and ready to take out(how I feed meat-eating guests).

Everytime we go to Montauk, we eat as much lobster as humanly possible, and this is the place to do that. We come to Montauk at least two times a year and have learned to rent places with a kitchen because of all of the let downs at the local restaurants. I mean it’s terrible sometimes, just horrible. But we come here for the beaches and the lack of people. So as the hotel chef, I will say that this IS the place to go to buy everything you need for a great meal. Lobsters? They’ve got a huge selection, anywhere from one to five pounds. Oils, spices, herbs, fresh veggies, meats, fishes, condiments? They’ve got it all crammed in a barely 400sf shack. I wanted to hate this place because the first time we went there, we missed closing time by 10 minutes, and they coinsidentily missed out on alot of money, but closing time is closing time, so we went to a place called Dulyea’s(?), which was still open sold us a couple two pounders. But the next day, craving scallops, went to Gosman’s and found, as I said, everything I needed. Had a great meal that night of scallops, seared tuna, asparagus, and Japanese eggplant. The next night, more lobster. So anyhow, everytime we go to Montauk, Gosman’s fish market is our go to place for food. Until they piss me off a couple times or I find someplace better, but I don’t see that happening…

Great place to bring the family especially if you have children. Great view on the dock and great to walk around and go to the little shops and watch the boats pull in to the marina. Food is iffy I wouldn’t go there just for the food but it has a great atmosphere.

i love that places like this still exist. they bring their catch in, process it on-site and get it in the cases the same day. ultra fresh, wonderful quality. they also carry some great local produce. some of the convenience items are super expensive, but that is to be expected at a small specialty shop.

After being a loyal patron almost every day for the past 4 months, buying fresh fish, lobster, and produce, imagine my surprise when we got some tuna that tasted metallic. When we tried to return 1 of the 2 pieces we purchased(with the printed price on the label) we were told«this fish is fine» and after some discussion we were offered another piece of fish the weight of the 1 piece we had returned. Not a full credit… It seems their motto here is «THECUSTOMERISNEVERRIGHT!» I will be doing all my seafood purchases from now on at DURYEA’S. I suggest you avoid this place until they learn how to treat customers.

This is a great market! It may even be the best in the area. It has fresh produce and gourmet marinades and spices from all over the world. The seafood here is super fresh. If you are looking for a whole fish, ask! We didn’t see any whole fish and we asked. A few minutes later, we got a 4 pound sea bass basically right off the day boat… it was as good as it gets! We also got some great steamers at a very reasonable price too.

This is just a fish market. I would come here mostly as a kid with my parents and we would buy live lobsters to cook. There’s a huge fish selection and while it can get expensive, the quality is amazing. It’s always fresh. I think you can also buy wholesale orders here as well since the address is the same, and it’s just an open space. I don’t know what else to write about this joint, except that it’s easy to get to, well priced and very good quality.
