Affordable and tasty! If you come on weekdays you can have a suculent and abundant thai dish. I’ve tried so far the red curry, green curry and cashew dish, the three all them are delicious and under $ 7 ea.

For as much as I eat here I should give them 5 stars, but I have had some less than par experiences. Their menu can be overwhelming so it helps to know what they do best. And that is curry! Their Panaag curry is by far my favorite thing on their menu. I’m pretty much addicted and eat it on nearly a weekly basis(maybe I shouldn’t admit that).I’m not vegetarian, but I get it with tofu because their tofu is so darn delicious! Their drunken noodles are also a safe bet. Again, there are some dishes that are for the more adventurous and can be disappointing, but what they do well they do extremely well!

Thai BBQ have a large authentic Thai and Laotian menu. If you are there, I would recommend you try the tom yum soup. I eat here from time to time and never have any bad experience with the food. However, their service is slow and most of the time it is hard to communicate with the server. Somehow every time I am there, it’s always the same old lady who serves my table and she kept communicating in Laotian to me even when I say I don’t speak Laotian. I respect the language barrier but it can be a bit frustrating.

This was seriously one of the worst dining experience(company excluded) that I’ve had in awhile. We originally came out for phobruary, but on our own mistake realized that the special is only M-F, and we were interested in visiting on a Saturday. We decided beforehand that this was fine, and headed to Silver City anyway. We were seated at a four top by the window and left to look through not one but TWO menus. One is hardcover and one is diner-style with just laminated pages. There are over 113 options to chose from, most of which include pictures. My mistake was going with a choice without illustration I guess. The menus were dirty, but we looked past that. There were several options for beer, wine and sake, but only TWO items on the menu were actually Thai, and both were beer. We imbibed. While we took some time to sift through the twelve or so pages of the menu, we agreed to start our meal with the crispy squid appetizer. It came out quickly, and without chopsticks. We asked and soon enough they were delivered. The sweet and sour dipping sauce was very good with large chunks of peanuts, but served in the tiniest dish that it was very difficult to actually dip the squid. The squid itself wasn’t too chewy, but the breading(the best part) fell off immediately after being touched, and there were lots of strings in the squid. Unfortunately this was the best part of the meal. Pam and I both wanted to try phở, but they were lumped not under the«soup» section, but the«noodle» section. Only a couple of the options had«phở» in the title/description, but who knew? She got a Seafood option that was noted to include«seafood, ground pork and peanuts», but it came with TONS of seafood«balls», shrimp, ground pork… and tripe… and beef? As she pointed out it really seemed like they just tossed a bunch of stuff in there. The broth was very odd as well, extremely sweet and fishy. She said she would not order it again. I wanted just phở broth with noodles and no meat. I ordered what was described as «broth with noodles» and received seriously one of the most disgusting bowls of «mush mush» that I have ever had the displeasure of eating. The«noodles» seemed like giant globs of flour that were just disintegrating in the gravy that was to pass as «broth», and giant, often pieces of dark meat chicken. I would have complained had the lady come back, but the next time we saw someone was a woman who spoke no English dropping off our check. I tried to eat some of it, but it was seriously revolting. The best way to describe it would be if you poured all the leftovers from the bottom of your plate at thanksgiving into a bowl, left it under the sink for a week and garnished with green onions. Joe said his curry rice was fine, but seasoned simply with curry seasoning and not curry as a sauce. To top off the terrible meal, the non-English woman ran our two cards for the opposite amounts and really messed up the cash out process. We had to divvy up cash on top of this between the table to be sure that everyone was charged fairly. As we were finishing our meal the place filled completely, but we noticed everyone was ordering the Hot Pots. Must be the only thing they do well, and while Pam may be brave enough to come back and check one out, I have no desire to come here again.

We had dinner here this evening, and we really enjoyed the food. This area of National seems to have some great options, and this is one of them. We got a hot pot of soup that was outstanding. Then we had a couple noodle dishes, larb, and volcano chicken. Spice levels are 1 – 5, and 3 was definitely a medium-plus. The service was very good, and they did not seem to mind that we were there a bit after close. The prices are very reasonably. We will be back!

I have visited 3 times now, and every time the food has been outstanding. The Tom Yum was good, the Green Curry amazing! The previous visit i had the ginger curry and ordered the thai bbq chicken and crispy pork spring rolls for appetizers. All three were delicious! The prices are great, with the average entrée being about $ 8.99, and the presentation is very nice. Most dishes allow you to choose your heat level between 1 and 5, i get a three and its a decent heat already so be cautious. Overall this place is a huge winner. Definitely a hidden gem.

Stopped in for the highly recommended lunch. Let’s start with the price $ 6.99– super affordable and the portion was large. I ordered the grilled beef skewers. The lunch comes with a cup of chicken soup which you can tell was homemade, it was delicious. Perfectly salted and full of veggies! My grilled beef, although not on skewers and rather thin slices was also delicious. Served with both rice and noodles– both lackluster. It is also served with a fried spring roll. Both my co-diner and my first spring rolls were frozen, both the waitress quickly replaced with fully cooked, which were tasty. Although I wasn’t over the moon for this place, I thought the price was perfect and will be back again.

I come here at least once a month with my fiancée. Some favorite dishes of ours include isaan sausages(tangy and salty), kare curry(a creamy tomato based curry that’s excellent with fried tofu), the volcano chicken and chef’s special(served with vegetables and delicious sauce on a sizzling plate), curry fried rice(rice fried with salty, spicy curry sauce), and the pad see ew($ 8 for a ridiculous amount of food). We’ve yet to have a bad meal here. I’ll agree wholeheartedly with other reviews that their service is usually hit-or-miss and the place could use a serious deep cleaning! However, the food is consistently amazing and their portions are huge and filling, so we’ll probably keep coming back as long as Thai-Namite continues to charge $ 13 for an inferior, tiny plate of(the above mentioned) pad see ew.

When I use to live in Milwaukee I use to go to Thai Bar-B-Que all the time! Although the service was just OK, the food kept me coming back for more. I really enjoyed everything I ordered from there. As I continue to come back the service kept getting worse. There’s this older waitress who speaks very little English which wasn’t really the issue I had with her but she was quite rude. This one time she brought food to our table on a tray and the lettuce that came with a dish fell unto the food tray and she picked it up with her hand and placed it back into the dish. I told her we did not want those lettuce because she touched it with her hand and it was on the dirty tray.(COMMONSENSE?) And I don’t know if she understood me or not but I did not enjoy that interaction. Service is getting slow too.

I’ve been to Thai Bar-B-Que a few times. Most recently for«Phở-February» where this place as well as two other restaurants competed for the best Phở soup for the month of February in «Silver City». My review will start off with ranking the restaurants places for the Phở-February competition. Here is my ranking for the Phở: #1 — Thai Lotus #2 — Vientiane Noodle Shop(really a tie for #1 but if I were forced to choose…) #3 — Thai-Bar-B-Que Thai Bar-B-Que had the worst meat. They only offered beef for the $ 5 Phở-February. Which I thought… ok, I probably wouldn’t order the beef but I guess I’ll try the beef at all places to keep it fair! Thai-Bar-B-Que just decided for me. Their beef was by far the worst beef. I’m picky with meat, I’ll admit. My description of picky is that it should not contain lots of fat and tendons, which I’d say is not meat. I realize that fat and tendons are near the meat and connected to the meat, but it shouldn’t be a major portion of the meat that gets served, just my opinion. Thai Bar-B-Que’s menu and the side dishes with the hot pepper and seasonings were disgustingly dirty. It really is a turnoff when they can’t keep the stuff that I can see clean, let alone the stuff that we cannot see. I’ve been here before for the hot pot soup which was very good. Also for other meals. And I’ve credited them stars accordingly(3 is not bad). Phở-Fail, though.

Decided to give this place another shot cause my roommate likes the phở and I was craving some. First we weren’t even acknowledged when we walked in. After we were seated, waited, decided on our meals, waited some more. Another group came in, got sat down, got their water, got their order taken… Needless to say we decided to leave.

Let me start by saying this was one of the worst restaurant experiences ever ! I braved the winter weather to go here an once I get in I walked into the dining area of the restaurant and was standing over the diners The awkward wait standing over fellow dinners wasn’t that prolonged as we got a table quickly After a long wait to get the attention if the waitress who was taking orders from everyone who arrive after us we finally got our order in. Long wait … I tell the waitress can you get the drinks, appetizer, soup and my sons food earlier and no need to wait for the whole order … The. She says ok you want the whole order together … Seriously if I want it together would it tell you it’s OK to bring in what ever is ready Anyway … Soup arrives with soup spilled all over ad cilantro leaves hanging over the soup bowl. Did you just dip the bowl Into the soup ? No soup spoons provided… how do you expect to drink the soup Appetizer is delivered with no side plates forks or anything … Wt&&&$$ So we wave down the lady who was serving water to get plates and silver wear All the food arrive still no drinks… urgggg … My night is already ruined at this point I ordered a mild Beef Paw see ew for my son. MILD … Not a dish with generous portion Of pepper thrown on top… at this point I am annoyed and have to deal with a hungry kid who can’t really eat his food since it has too much pepper… Where is my wine !! … After asking we get our drinks Food Was actually good but I am sorry I don’t have to dive all this was spend my money to get bad and clumsy service Despite the good reviews about having fries(yes fries) in you curry dishes we did not find is appealing. It felt like a cheap move to put frozen potato fries Anyway when we told the waitress she is like you can tell the owner about that I can’t don anything(heap we agree that you cannot do much I anything but how about taking the feedback to the owner) grrrr Please remember NOT to use the bathroom… Ewe dirty ! My overall opinion Cramped up place, bad service, food /chef is good I will not return as there are enough good Thai restaurants in the city where I can have a much pleasant experience

Mmmm. Thai BBQ. My old roommate introduced this place to me 5 years ago and i have been hooked since! I’ve introduced all of my friends to this place too, and they all agree with me that it is yummy! :-) I usually always get the same items when I come here to eat. Fresh spring rolls, Massamum(sp?) Curry with chicken and the Pad See Ew with beef. Don’t be discouraged when you see that they use crinkle fries in the curry in place of regular cut potatoes lol. If you close your eyes, you will never know the difference! Tonight when I dined with friends,(one being a newbie) it was a good experience yet again. We ordered the Fried Squid appetizer which was delicious! The mussels for an appetizer, which came with a pretty funky dipping sauce(not a fan) — mussels were on the bland side as well. For entrees we had the curry that I mentioned above, Volcano Chicken which was phenomenal, Pad Thai(not a fan of — was more on the sweet side with a kind of heavy sauce. Slightly red in color, so that threw me off, and the Pineapple fried rice which was good! We enjoyed the Thai iced tea and Thai slushies(crushed ice with sweet beans, jack fruit, coconut milk, sweet corn, along with a few other items in which i cannot describelol. Not in the best neighborhoods, but really… who cares? Make sure to lock your car doors and step inside to enjoy some great food! :-)

So, since being in Milwaukee I can not find decent tasting Asian cuisine. I ordered drunken noodles and tom kha soup. Soup was flavorful and a tad salty for those who watch their in take. The noodles, were over cooked and the presentation of the entrée was lacking to say the least. Not very appetizing when I requested a 3 on the hotness scale and someones grandma dumped a whole bottle of black pepper in my food. Not chilli powder or siracha, black pepper. Not the best experience for me. My fiancé on the other hand had a decent meal of bbq pork. Plenty of parking, but lack of seating. Parties of 4+ will have gratuity added, checks can not be split.

Stop by for a quick lunch. Ordered the beef pad siew and honeydew bubble drink. The noodle was greasy for me(need to request less oil next time), found the beef to be somewhat chewy, loved the Chinese broccoli in the dish, it was nice and crisp. The drink was too sweet had to dilute mine with water. Overall, nice quick lunch was in and out. Will be back to try the other items on the menu

I thought this place was alright. The pad thai is different. The noodles are thinner and seemed to be on the sweeter side. I didn’t mind it but it just didn’t seem like authentic pad thai. Also tried the panang curry, which tasted a little off. Not sure what it was but maybe something in it wasn’t quite fresh. I do like the type of meat that they use though; the beef was thin sliced and not big chewy pieces like I’ve had at some other places. All in all, I doubt I will return unless I’m in the area. …but the prices were super reasonable for the portions, which is always a big plus!

Went back for phở last week during the Phobruary promo featuring $ 5 phở. The broth was pretty good but I still had to tweak it to my preference. The noodles were great as were the various pieces of meat which included beef, tendon, tripe and meatball. I would probably stick to other parts of the menu, but the phở will take care of a craving if needed.

Stopped in for a late lunch for my sister’s birthday 1:30 there were 5 other groups that came afterwards. We had a mix of 3 apps Thai fried rice curry a noodle dish and a soup, the soup comes with plenty of fresh lime, bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeño and lime on the side for you to add later. I wish they had fresh coriander in this mix. Don’t forget to ask for the four service condiments. The Thai basil was very fresh and added a light licorice taste to the whole meal. My sister ordered level 2⁄5 and my brother and I added more chili to bring on the Thai sweat level. Food: 4⁄5 We had good servings sizes. Not as big as some places but good enough. Menus were great each item had a picture with a description.(See pic.) I jokingly said that a few places in the South have menus on a flip card with no words just pictures this is usually for the tourists, or illiterate, I guess.(just point and grunt, nod.) It works very good here. The fortune cookies were not very crisp, chewy. Didn’t feel like testing the Thai tea. I’m not a fan of extra Sweet Tea, sweetie. Atmosphere: 4⁄5 plenty of decorations. Art and sculpture. I wish the temperature was a little cooler since my face was on fire from the seasoning. They had a window AC unit near the front door. Service: 5⁄5 good timing for apps and entrees table was set up nicely. Waters topped off regularly. The staff was interactive. Location: 3⁄5 W. Milwaukee just east of 35th parking on street was easy to find on the weekend. Police are in the neighborhood on foot. Value: 4⁄5 all dishes were under 9 each. We all had plenty to eat and took home the extra, for later on. Sawadi crup
