This place has been shuttered and closed since March 2013. The pictures look great, and the old reviews sound awesome… But I will never get to try this place because it has been closed since March 2013. I guess I’ll have to try«the King and I Thai» which is right next door

The best wonton soup I’ve ever had! It had a little kick to it, and the wontons themselves were so good! Wrapped in paper-thin noodle instead of the usual thick ravioli-type pasta. I am not well-versed in Thai food, so I am uncertain if this is the norm for wonton soup at a Thai restaurant. I had the roast duck breast; not sure if it was really roasted, it seemed more like it was almost flash-deep fried. It was still tasty though, coming with the usual complement of fresh veggies like snow peas, broccoli, carrots and mushrooms, all sitting in a very nice, unobtrusive sauce. Service was fine, but it did take a really long time for us all(3 people) to get our soup; a good solid 15 minutes. Not sure why it took so long, but my soup was worth the wait.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed by the crab rangoon. I’ve been on a big crab rangoon kick recently because I fell in love with Jow Nai Fouquet’s version over the past few weeks. I read some good reviews of the Thai Palace rangoon and gave it a shot tonight. I disagree with those favorable reviews. While the breading/coating was a little lighter(which I appreciated), there was barely any filling in each one — which is just like pretty much every other crab rangoon I’ve ever had other than Jow Nai Fouquet’s. Totally disappointing and not worth $ 8. I asked for 3 stars of heat and got absolutely no heat in my volcano chicken. The flavor was okay but the lack of any heat whatsoever and the horrible crab rangoon soured me on the entire experience. Not even close to worth the $ 24 I dropped on these two items. Steep prices AND below average food. Also, while the woman was nice enough when I went to pick my food up — she wouldn’t give me 8 quarters for my two dollars. Is the woman at Thai Palace obligated to help me get laundry quarters? No, but I figure why stop complaining at this point in the review. If you want great crab rangoon, go to Jow Nai Fouquet. If you want great volcano chicken, go next door to King & I.

I am not a big fan of Thai food. And this restaurant does not help to change that. The buffet in the noon is Ok, thought there are not too many kinds of food there. The fried rice there is a little bit overpriced. Like you spent $ 14 and get a plate full of rice and nothing else…

Dinner on a Wednesday night– maybe 10 other ppl in here, so service was good. Spring roll apps — three halved rolls, fried, crispy, flaky outside with a sweet dipping sauce. Would order again. Drunken Noodles — I am somewhat of a drunken noodles connoisseur. These were almost perfect. Amazing flavor combination of salty, spicy, and sweet. I ordered a 2 out of 4 spice level which provided a lovely kiss of heat. Plenty of Thai basil, sliced carrots, peas, and broccoli, along with chicken(can get beef or pork as well). My only complaint is the noodles were slightly overcooked, but they were still delicious. Quiet music, muted lighting, not OVERLY fancy but really a nice ambiance. If I’m back in downtown, will definitely come here and order the same thing.

I’ll get my complaint out of the way immediately. The service can be slow. That being said, the ladies of Thai Palace are so sweet, it’s hard to fault them for it. Also, I don’t recall having gone there with a party of less than 8 people, so… it might be me. The food is fantastic. Last time I was there, I ordered the crispy duck. If you shy away from spice, get this dish!!! It was fantastic. The duck was crispy, as promised, the sauce was savory, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Most of my friends rave about the Volcano chicken/tofu/etc because it is so full of crazy deliciousness, they can’t help but get it every time. I don’t like the burning(though I’m sure you can get some mild form of it) so I avoid the dish. It is impressive when they bring it out, though. They pour the sauce over the protein and vegetables on a hot plate to make it sizzle and you salivate. Yeah. You get to be «that» guy/girl. The atmosphere matches the food wonderfully. Nobody we have brought here has been disappointed.

We’ve been in once for dinner and once for the lunch buffet. Both times the food was very good, however both times we had service issues. We did have the same server each time, so maybe others will have a better experience. We had dinner there on a Saturday night and apparently there was something going on downtown. The restaurant was not full, but customers were getting up and leaving their tables without eating after complaining about the wait, and a couple of the servers were full on running from the front of the restaurant to the kitchen, which was distracting. We also had trouble getting more drinks. I would hope that the restaurant would keep a schedule of downtown events and be prepared, but maybe someone called in sick and left them short staffed. During the lunch buffet visit we drank our small glasses of iced tea and did not get any offer of refills. We sat for a while until another server noticed us waiting for our bill and brought it so we could get back to work.

I wanted to like Thai Palace, I did. Unfortunately my husband and I both felt queasy after eating there and definitely both got sick the next day after unwisely eating leftovers. It’s hard to like a place after that… The décor is fancier that most Thai restaurants I’ve been into and almost a little chincy and overdone. Our server was nice enough. I had a few tastes of some appetizers, and like others have mentioned the Crab Rangoon was light, crispy, and tasty. I also enjoyed my Thai Iced tea. My Massaman curry with beef tasted good, however, I’m pretty sure that’s what made me sick. Because of our experience after eating here, I will most likely never be back. There are plenty of other tasty Thai restaurants that I will go to instead. Oh, and parking here sucks. Sorry Thai Palace, you and I just didn’t connect.

A good option for Thai if you’re downtown or on the East side. Apps: Excellent. We had crab Rangoon, tempura veggies and spring rolls and all were far above average. The veggie tempura in particular was outstanding. Food: I had Drunk Man Noodles at a spice level of 3 of 4. They nailed the spice level perfectly. Like Heather C, I wasn’t thrilled with the rice noodles as they were mushy. I tried some of the Volcano chicken and thought it was very good — I’d get that next time. Drinks: a nice menu of fruity cocktails. I had hit sake which was served in the cutest elephant teapot. Service: very good. We were with a large group and our server offered separate checks which was appreciated. Parking: on the street, so good luck with that.

Not blown away, but not disappointed either. Another case for that extra ½ star. This is a very nice place and the prices were very good I thought. I thought the appetizers were EXCELLENT. We were with a group and were able to try several things. NOSHEDON: Crab Rangoon(perhaps the best I have ever had anywhere), Thai Spring Rolls(very light, and fresh), and Tempura Veggies(Awesome). FEASTEDON: Volcano Chicken SAMPLED: Chicken Drunk Man Noodles Entrees were just«meh.» I have had better at lunch buffets elsewhere. I will admit that I am not an aficionado of Thai cuisine. Perhaps the other place I go to is the best and this is just behind. Only more experience will tell. I’ll be sure to update this review if my opinion changes. I just was not very impressed with what are two of the most sterotypical Thai entrees. Other than the food, the restaurant is beautiful, my Mai Thai was delicious and boozy, and the service was relaxed, but appropriate for a large group. Parking sucks, street only.

Went in with the Unilocal International Supper Club last night. I debated not writing a review because my I don’t think my dislike of my dinner had anything to do with the restaurant. I think it was more my poor choices. Our servers were Excellant. Very friendly and right on top of things. For a Tuesday evening the atmosphere was nice. Not busy at all. The server actually offered to give us all separate checks, that doesn’t happen often. I started with a Diet Coke, but figured since it was an International Supper Club I should branch out a bit. I tried a Thai Iced Tea. It seemed to be mixed with milk, and since I like Chai I thought I would like it. But, it had too much of a traditional iced tea flavor for me. I passed it down to Ellie B for a taste, and never asked for it back. I also wanted to try something a little out of my comfort zone for dinner. I would have normally gone with a cashew chicken or fried rice plate. Scanning the menu the Drunken Man Noodles caught my eye. Not just because of the clever name(which caused the 12 year old boy in me to giggle) but all of the ingredients seemed to be things I would like. Before I ordered I didn’t clarify what kind of noodles were in the dish. I was assuming the dish would come with a round noodle, but instead it was a flat rice noodle. I know now that I prefer a more al dente noodle, then what rice noodles are. But, no fault of the restaurant, it was purely my taste. Overall, I will definitely keep Thai Palace on my list of restaurants to return to, and stick with what I know I like.

Went here for lunch with some coworkers. I have been here to dinner once before and had an unpleasant experience(because my fried rice had a long black hair in it, was replaced, but I was charged). The décor is really nice. This would be a cute date place based on décor. Thai iced tea, delicious. They brought the food very quickly, which was super convenient for a lunch hour. I ordered stir fry vegetables and asked for them to go light on the sauce, which they did. Very salty. So basically my meal was a plate of salt, steamed veggies, a little sauce, and rice. For $ 16. Say what? Seriously? The ingredients could not have been more than $ 2. I did not feel as though the price at all met the value. The food was fine, but definitely nothing spectacular to warrant a price so high. On the plus side, they did split bills for our group of 7.

Utter dreck. From the top down this dinner experience was garbage. Went to this dismal beast with five other friends. We had a reservation. We had to wait outside because the table was not ready. After ten minutes of standing around in the heat and humidity, we were finally seated. The place was nearly empty. Maybe three other tables with guests. The waitress brought water out for three of us and told the others that the dishes were dirty and they were being cleaned — thus the lack of glasses for water and the reason only some of us had silverware. We ordered and — some of us — enjoyed our water. Despite the place being nearly empty, it took an hour for the food to come out. I took a couple of bites and realized I did not order my curry hot enough and pretty much just gave up on the meal. It wasn’t spectacular but the wait for the meal was miserable enough that I really didn’t care anymore and just wanted to pay and leave.

Tom Kha Gai. Massamun Curry. AWESOME. Tom Kha Gai has quickly become my favorite Thai soup. This is the best I have encountered so far. Staff and service were extremely friendly and quick. This was a delicious meal after a long conference. Recommend highly.

Talk about HUGE servings! My boyfriend and I were in town and craving some thai food. Luckily this place was near our hotel. We were not expecting such big plates though! I got my usual: red curry and it was pretty tasty. I asked for it extra spicy, but it lacked in that department. Instead both my dish as well as my boyfriend’s was more temperature hot than anything. We loved the large portions and wished that our hotel had a fridge so we could take it with us. We ate as much as we could though!

Respectable food. But for my tastes, it was uninspired and pricey. I’ve never subscribed to restaurants that charge a lot for mediocre food and try to compensate by spooning out giant portions. And like so many mediocre Asian eateries, this one is no different. The most interesting thing about dining here is the television shows. Get here early and you can catch the bizarre Thai soap operas that captivate waitstaff and customer alike! [I mistakenly posted this review for the OTHER Thai place next door and just realized the error of my ways. Sorry restaurant next door! I owe you someday!]

I see a lot of great reviews, but I just can’t muster up an A-OK. I went for the lunch buffet. There was very little selection, and I just didn’t think it was worth it for the price. The only good thing I really have to say is that the atmosphere was pretty nifty.

Thai Palace is one of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee and, more specifically, my favorite Thai place in Milwaukee. I’m sure there are lots of wonderful things on the menu, but I can’t help myself from getting the same thing each time — volcano tofu! They also have delicious crab rangoon with a good sauce. It’s all about the sauce. Try a Thai iced coffee, too The staff are always sweet and attentive. I wish they delivered although it might be best for my wallet that they don’t, because I would be ordering it all the time.
