I got the drunken noodles which were excellent, but I was more impressed with the customer service. They made a mistake with our order. We came to pick up our order, but it wasn’t there — no big deal. They were very apologetic, and professional. They eventually got our order to us and even compensated us, even though they didn’t have to. I’m definitely going there when I’m in the mood for Thai food.

I work right down the street from Siam Express. I had been there several times and was happy with the food, prices, etc. however the quality seems to be going downhill. The dishes have an overly sweet taste which is unappealing and sauces are very watery. Bummer!

Called for delivery around 7:00 last night. At 8 o’clock, the restaurant called to let us know they were out of the pan fried noodles for my lad nah. When asked if the had a comparable substitute they said yes, they could substitute for the soft noodles and they wouldn’t charge us for it. Ok, I’ll try it. At 8:30, my fiancé called to see if out order had left. They said it had. When my fiancé explained that we wanted to add sodas to the order, the delivery driver was actually still at the restaurant with our order. Miraculous. Food finally arrived around 9 pm, TWOHOURS after we ordered. The crab Rangoon and egg rolls were good. My lad nah was inedible. The gravy honestly looked as if it had been eaten once before. The noodles were a sickly gray and looked like a cross between undercooked bacon fat and squid, and tasted like they had been sautéed in very old oil and possibly. I wish I had taken a picture.

DONOTORDERFROMTHEM. THEYTAKEFOREVER(hours) to get your food to you. Rather it’s inside dinning or take out or delivery. Delivery being the WORST!!! I waited 2 hours to get my food delivered to me. I don’t know how they are still in business. Please go to Thai Lotus.

Ordered in based on decent reviews and delivery option. Food overall was alright. Pretty standard takeout. Wontons were doughy and made a good app but we’re light on filling. Pad Thai was very dry and noodle heavy, as in very light on egg, scallions, etc that typically are mixed in. Drunken noodle also more like dry noodle and also light on mix ins. Tom Kha Gai was tasty but a different style than expected, as in red curry paste and heavy on fish sauce rather than coconut and lemongrass. Probably will check out other options when craving Thai in future.

The menu here is a bit limited compared to most of the other Thai places I’ve been to. The have the classic noodle dishes and curries but nothing extraordinary. Food wise, it’s nothing exciting either. I’ve tried the pad thai, which is pretty dry(though I prefer mine a little more on the wet side) and the noodles are thinner than the typically pad thai rice noodle. The flavor also is very mild, which can be a good or bad thing depending on your preferences. I’ve also tried one of their curries(panang or massaman, I can’t remember) but I remember it being very watery and again, lacking much flavor. That being said, I have a soft spot for family run businesses like this one. The people are very nice here. Also, you will more often than not see the owner’s kids running around or playing games in the corner. That’s exactly what I was doing in my parent’s restaurant growing up so it brought back a lot of memories. Bottom line is that this place will do the job if you’re nearby and looking for thai, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Not bad for delivery. Placed the order online and the food arrived an hour later at the office. Not a bad deal at all. Got the pad see ew which was tasty but the noodles were over cooked /soggy. Tom yum soup was flavorful but had just a little bit too much oil? Not really sure what it was. Steamed veggies was a slam dunk! Definitely getting that as a side again soon. Well done Siam express. Thai iced tea was delicious(as always) and a nice dessert.

This was the first time I went there to eat; I ordered the beef fried rice which tasted really good. I went there about 8:25 and was told by the waitress that the main dining room was closed. I was a little dissapointed that I had to do a take out instead.

Got the Tom Kha soup and the yellow curry and both were really amazing. Great spice level(I love spicy). We were the only customers at the time, but it was early for dinner. Hope this place does well!

I ordered thai style of pork kapow. I feel like home. It was exactly what i want. It has no green beans. Only kapow leaves(holy basils). I love it. Make sure you have fry egg in the top too. Original thai food is the best.

Been here a handful of times and it’s always been ok. Nothing exceptional, but nothing that made me dislike the place. The food took a while during lunch, but the server was nice and friendly. Ordered two Pad Thai and they mixed up the heat levels, so I got a medium one and the lady ended up with supreme spicy. Either their spice level could be hotter or it’s just right for their typical customers. I ended up putting a bunch of dried Thai chili powder on it to make it hot. Her Pad Thai didn’t come with a wedge of lime so I had to squeeze the rest of my lime on her noodles. The Drunken Noodles were flavorful and fragrant, but a little salty. Tum Yum soup was a little salty, but had good heat and lemon grass flavor. Could have used more lime for sourness. The Thai Tea is good, but a little on the sweet side. It’s good when the ice has melted a bit or if you add a little water to it and enjoy right away. Overall I would come back when craving Thai food and in the area, but the search for a great Thai place still continues.

After moving to the seemingly food dessert that is West Allis I was excited when I found Siam Express. Totally psyched with online ordering and delivery to my door. The food is always super fresh and hot. The curry is great! I crave it almost every week. The only downside is the delivery time is usually long(an hour) no matter when you order, and they are closed on Monday’s. This place made my move to Stallis not quite as hard.

Not bad, pleasant décor, somewhat attentive service, palatable Americanized Thai cuisine. Does not compare well to Thai BBQ east of here in terms of food quality, though the service is better here. Not to say that the service was quick or efficient, just better than at the Thai BBQ where service is notably inconsistent. Food here is relatively bland, uses American vegetables substituting for Southeast Asian vegetables, American vegetable oils instead of Southeast Asian oils, the food is definitely not very spicy. If you want closer to authentic Thai, you’re better off at Thai BBQ. If you want blander, more Americanized Thai food with somewhat better service, this is your choice. Conveniently located if you’re doing something at the VA hospital.

I have eaten at Siam about 4 times in the last 4 months since discovering this place. It’s right across the street from the VA and during peak lunch hours it can get pretty packed. However I must say the Number 23 red curry based dish is amazing. Probably the best red curry Thai dish I have ever had even though it isn’t listed in the curry section. He green curry is also very good as well as the Volcano Chicken. Everything is always presented really well and when it is served you almost forget you are in West Allis.(That is at least Until you look up). Anyway the Volcano chicken which is also a favorite isn’t quite as good as E-San over on the east side it is still very very good.

Vegetarian looking for good spicy veggies, so I got the green curry soup with veggies. I ordered level four spiciness expecting to at least break a sweat. I was disappointed. No sweat, slight heat in mouth afterwards. I would have rated that a one or two, imo. The veggies were nice and crisp, but the broth was bland and barely had any flavor. I’m also used to a curry sauce that’s more thick, so the watery broth was less than appealing. No spring rolls available when I requested them. No brown rice like other Unilocalers have suggested. Two stars cause I’m full and the veggies were crisp. I’m not tempted to come back. I should have guessed from the«express» title that quality wasn’t going to be too high.

I’ve been ordering from these guys for years, never any problems. The delivery guy would hook me up with some«KAPOW» extra spicy Pad Kra Paw, #15 spicy as he called it, and it genuinely hurt oh so good. He would include little containers of extra spices to help make it as hot as I wanted. AWESOME. Haven’t see him deliver lately and it’s like all standards have disappeared… where is this guy?! The last time I ordered took TWOHOURS and only after I called to complain… and I live down the street! Maybe I’d get faster service if I walked there… This past time was an hour and a half and it was all COLD. Look at the crab Rangoons I got(profile pics)! Completely flat like someone sat on them, and no dipping sauce. The Pad Kra Paw was lukewarm and bland. NOTSPICY. PATHETIC! SODISAPPOINTEDWITHYOUGUYS. Fix your delivery issues. *** I called to complain and got a piping hot version of what I had ordered within 30 minutes… STILL no dipping sauce for the Crab Rangoons. Did the manufacturer not ship those to you after they sat on the Rangoon wantons?! Not ordering from you guys anymore. Two bad experiences in a row are the LAST bad experiences for me. Sorry Siam Express, you’ve lost a very loyal customer.

Not too bad Siam Express. Not bad at all. Honestly, when you look at this place from the outside, it doesn’t look like much, but it was across the street from work so I gave it a try. I got the pad thai noodles, and they were really good. The time I was there, it looked like a pretty popular place for lunch as people started to file in around noon. The spicy rating here is from 1 to 5. I like spicy, but I usually don’t get my pad thai spicy. I went with a 2 and it had a nice little kick to it, like you know the spice is there but it just added a little extra flavor. I heard a lot of other people go with a 3 as a normal spiciness for your dish. I’m thinking 4 or 5 are going to be extra spicy, where 5 could be an unenjoyable spiciness, but I have yet to try any other ratings. I think this is an excellent place for lunch, or if you want to get some thai carryout. I believe they also deliver with a minimum charge($ 10 probably). I would say check this place out. It’s a nice change from sonic, jersey mikes, and other restaurants in the area.

I got takeout here a lot when they were on GrubHub. I’ve been mostly happy. The pad thai is delicious, as are the curry dishes. The Massaman curry was too sweet for my tastes, but I can forgive that in light of some of the other good meals I’ve had courtesy of this place. The place is pretty cool on the inside; they’ve got a nice big aquarium stocked with, if I remember, some red-tailed sharks. The people who run the place are always nice and even fairly conversational if your food isn’t quite ready as you turn up to pick it up. The food isn’t terribly spicy, but for those who don’t like a lot of heat or who are new to Thai food it will be perfect. The appetizers I’ve tried have all been decent as well. The menu is easy to navigate even for people who don’t quite know what everything is, which could be convenient. My one major complaint is the location. I can’t recommend dining in at certain times, because during Brewer games West Milwaukee institutes a ridiculous, predatory parking policy and it can become very difficult to find legal parking. The food is good, but not worth the chance of getting a parking ticket. If you’re like me and couldn’t give less of a damn about baseball you never know if the policy is in effect at one time or another without going out of your way to see if there is actually a game on at the time. What’s even worse is that the restaurant isn’t even *that* close to Miller Park(it’s walkable if you’re determined, but how many people are that determined?), but the suburbs gotta make money somehow I guess. Can you tell I’m a bit bitter? It wasn’t even my ticket, but it was such horseshit that I’m empathically mad about it. TL;DR: Pretty good Thai food, but avoid West Milwaukee like the plague during baseball season.

This is the closest Thai restaurant to my house, so I was excited to see it open. I’ve visited twice now, and I’ve been satisfied with both of my meals. The restaurant is clean and comfortably lit. I’m not sure I would have selected the Oldies station to be playing in a Thai restaurant, but I doubt that is costing them any business. On my first visit, I ordered the Massaman Curry with beef. I’ve only had Massaman Curry at a couple of other Thai restaurants, but I didn’t think this one was as rich in flavor as the others, but the beef was tender. It was still good, but just not as good as the others I’ve had. I really liked the presentation with the shoestring carrots garnish and heart shaped rice serving on the side. On my most recent visit, I decided to try the Pad Thai with chicken, since it was a dish I’ve had at other Thai restaurants in town. The chicken was on the dry side, but the sauce had a prominent taste of peanut, which is not a bad thing. The overall texture and flavor made this a solid dish, but again not quite as good as the others I’ve had. Again, I liked the presentation with the sprouts, carrots and chopped peanuts as garnishes. The staff is friendly and attentive, although on both visits I was the only diner. I will say, however, that the carry-out business was very steady on both of my visits. On my last visit, I heard the chef yell out«hello Julie!» to the customer that just came in, so there is certainly repeat business which is a good sign. Also, I plan to go back again since it’s close to my house and the food is solid, so there’s that. I give them a solid 3 ½ stars with the potential to get to 4 stars with future visits.
