Sears Optical

I came in today with my son after his preschool did a vision screening and recommended a more comprehensive exam. I also had an exam for myself. The staff was friendly and quick. My exam went off without a hitch, and if I were the only one being seen, I would have given a 4 star review (they were slightly pushy about getting me to buy new glasses and start using contacts which I didn’t like).
The exam for my 4 year old son however, did not go well. The office is not even in the slightest bit kid friendly (offering prizes for a job well done is not the only solution). My son had a hard time answering some of the questions, or staring at a farm house for a longer period of time. He has just turned 4, what do you expect? My child never cried, or threw a fit, and he did everything he was asked to, within the best of his abilities. Mr. Lernor had no patience with him whatsoever, and was very obviously getting frustrated when my son couldn’t answer his questions the way he wanted. He even went as far as to tell me, that I needed to work on his behavior before bringing him back. I was mortified and extremely upset that this man had the audacity to say such a thing to a mother, when he clearly has no children of his own. He is not fit to see children and the staff should warn parents of young ones to see a different optometrist. I will never come here ever again and I caution any parent to stay far far away from here!

What a great experience. My precious Eye Dr. Moved and was no longer convenient to go to and since this one is so close I thought I would give it a try… I am so glad I did, great shop, great staff, friendly professional. This is a must go to shop.

I agree with Lynee L. — the new staff is wonderful. This place was recommend to me by a coworker. I was a but apprehensive to go as it’s a bit far from my house and because of the previous reviews so I feel obligated to leave a review of my own.
Dr. Lernor is a young guy who was easy to talk to. The visit was quick and easy. I barely had to wait and all the staff seemed friendly. I don’t have kids so I can’t address the last review, but as a teacher I felt comfortable with the doctor’s demeanor. There were plenty of glasses to choose from and everything seemed clean and up to date. So much better than my previous doctor and worth the drive for me.
