America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I’m updating this from my original review because someone from America’s Best Corporate reached out to me and offered to assist with the situation. She also said she would be sharing my comments with the district manager of the location. My glasses finally came in yesterday.

Very friendly staff, reasonable prices, short wait times. I was very impressed with this location. If your gonna take my money at least leave me with a pleasant experience!

I moved to Johnsburg several years ago and found myself needing a new eye place. I looked online and around town and found this place. I loved my last place on the city so a new place had big shoes to fill.
This place lived up to my needs. Friendly staff from checking in to eye tests and eye exam and coming back for glasses and then to get my glasses. Every customer touch point was a positive experience and I have looked forward to my check ups.

Wow. Did I have a great experience here. I made my appointment for a Saturday at 9 am. The entire staff was bright eyed and happy to be there. The exam was quick and easy. I was going to the Schaumburg location which seemed so impersonal. The McHenry location is just the opposite. I am happy McHenry got an America’s Best!!!

For the most part, America’s Best appears to be a good company with great deals. What sets this location apart from the others is their customer service. They have always done their best to help us, even when we come to them last minute and they have gone above and beyond to accommodate us.
At one point, I tried to get some information from our files and needed it within a certain period of time. I did not get that information on time (the doctor wasn’t in on that day) but the staff went above and beyond to help me with the solution.

I had a great experience here actually. My eye exam was great, the first one I had where I could see super clear at the end of it. The only problem is, I didn’t like one of women’s frames, not one. I picked out two of them men’s, was assured that they could make the one larger frame fit… but when I got the glasses, had the fitted, went home, it was just too big and weird. I returned them and got my money back, no questions asked. I look around for another frame but still couldn’t find any, unless I go for a designer frame. My vision insurance kicks in soon and I’ll go back and get the designer frames them. People, you don’t have to get the upsell. My husband walks in here, gets 2 pairs of glass for $ 99. We figure for that price, if he scratches a pair, it’s cheaper to go back and get the 2 for $ 99 offer again. For me, that doesn’t work because I have to get bifocals, which is a higher price point, and I’m picky about my frames. You can make it work…
PS — the manager was really, really great about returning my glasses.

Great experience… very quick service (in and out in under a half hour). All the employees were very nice and professional. Plus, the 3 year eye care plan for $ 99 is a great deal.

I have been getting my eyewear from America’s Best for years! Always the best price. Wouldn’t consider NOT signing up for the eye club.
I have been asking for a location to open in McHenry for 5 yrs. I am delighed a location opened farther to NW suburb. The new location means less waiting for an appointment or at the appointment times.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. First of all, I was able to schedule my appointment online. The receptionist greeted me promptly and asked me to fill out a new patient form when I arrived. I was «pre-​tested» by a very nice lady and the optometrist was also very kind. I came in for a contact lens exam and the doctor gave me a free pair in my new prescription! The man who «rang me up» asked me if I was interested in the Eyecare Club. Of course I was! Up to 2 eye exams per year for 3 years for only $ 99! You also get 20% off your first glasses purchase, 10% off contacts, and 10% off accessories. I really didn’t care about the added discounts, because contacts will always be cheaper online. I joined the club and was on my merry way, new contacts and all. I will definitely be returning to this location.
