It was a pain to make an appointment, I could barely understand the lady on the phone, and she kept trying to book me for days and times that I already told her that I wasn’t available. I had to spell my last name 4 time(using A as in apple, B as in Boy). 4 times! We finally agreed on a time, and when I went to the vision center, they wanted to me sign the paper stating that I received the privacy act from them, but I hadn’t received anything, and no one knew where a copy of it was, so I didn’t sign. The exam room was dirty and made me uncomfortable. The exam machines were old, and the one she told me to put my forehead against, and the plastic cover was broke off, so the screw was sticking out, and I was supposed to put my forehead on that?! I had a discount through my insurance, but it is a good thing that I brought the paperwork with me, showing what the discount was supposed to be, otherwise I would not have received the disount. They ordered me a pair of trial lenses, which didn’t come in for about a month. I had to call and try to explain to the lady who could barely speak english what I needed when I hadn’t heard from them, and it was a pain to try to figure out where the trial lenses were. Some of the staff was writing down people’s credit card numbers on sticky notes, to run their payments later! What happened if that sticky note stuck to something it wasn’t supposed to and walked out the door!!! The doctor that I saw was friendly and helpful, but because of the rest of my experience, I am not comfortable that she knew what she was doing. Thank goodness I only have to visit the eye dr. once a year, and I will surely NOT be returning to Meijer Vision center, even for a discount.
