Olde Towne Creamery has been around for five years now. Though locally owned, I’d never been until finally stopping in this evening right before it closed at 6pm. It’s right off the Main Highway in Manteo on the corner of Ananias Dare in a building that also hosts Coastal Realty. The actual Creamery is really small. You walk in to a room with a few tables. To the left is a long narrow room where the line is to place your food order. While in line, you can look at the real estate listings around the island. The counter is basically the ice cream selection. The narrow room makes it hard to see the ice cream selection, but they do have quite a variety of creative choices. Most places have some kind of Heavenly Hash or Rocky Road. This one did not. However, it had one of my other faves — a Minty Mint Chocolate Chip. We immediately took it outside since it was a bright sunshiny afternoon/evening. Most buildings line the greenery and plants along a building with mulch. Oddly enough, they line theirs with broken glass. It’s an interesting sight to see. Definitely very colorful and a creative way to keep people off the plants. We enjoyed eating our ice cream at a bench in the yard with lots of green grass at our feet.

They were out of the caramel apple pie that I went there specifically to order. And the place just looked creepy. Dark and sold a lot more junk than just ice cream. Jewelry filled most of the food cases. Just weird.

Excellent service, delicious ice cream creations and a homemade cannoli that was almost as good as the streets of NYC!

Excellent service. Had a double scoop, one salted caramel with one scoop coffee with dark chocolate swirl. My husband got a double scoop of banana pudding ice cream. Highly satisfying! Definitely hit the spot!

Super friendly and awesome Hershey’s ice cream! They’ll take any flavor and make it into a shake for you. A single serve cup is around $ 2.50… worth every penny!

my boyfriend and i ate here a bunch when we came down from nyc. we got the best, friendliest service from the owner, who treats his customers like family(he even advised us about what to do around the area for the rest of our stay, leading us to festival park, for which i am eternally grateful). the ice cream was delicious, the pulled pork was even better, and the espresso was otherworldly. we loved it. would definitely come visit again!
