Good ice cream shop located down the street from the Wright Brothers Memorial. The ice cream is homemade and the prices are reasonable. The ice cream tastes great after an afternoon at the memorial!

Fantastic homemade ice cream with a touch of southern hospitality. My friends and I got to scoops just as they were closing up but they allowed order our ice cream and were so friendly.

Awesome find! We stumbled across the Kill Devil Hills location and were pleasantly surprised. They had apple pie ice cream that I can’t get at home. The banana pudding ice cream was so delicious! The service was great as well.

This place was pretty dang good, albeit pricier. Ice cream was typical and obviously delicious because it’s ice cream and very hard to mess that up… they have your usual flavors and then some really fun ones. Their shakes and smoothies were top notch… The reallll prize though was their item called the Creamsicle, a smoothie/float hybrid made of ginger ale, orange sherbet, and vanilla ice cream… all blended into sinfully delicious frozen heaven that tastes just like, you guessed it… a creamsicle. Seriously it is the best thing worth ordering in there… I can substantiate this claim because I ordered one, and everyone else who opted for traditional ice cream kept stealing sips from my treat, which worked our shockingly well since they are huge portions!

Edited to add that the owner’s daughter is now sending me threatening messages via Facebook. I wrote a review on Facebook after my son was yelled at by the owner for touching the handle and opening and closing the door of a self-service drink cooler. He is 2 and has a fascination with doors, and it kept him occupied for the 16 seconds while I placed my order. He touched none of the drinks, he did nothing but open the door, and gently close it. The review on Facebook is now very comical as his teenage daughter decided to show herself and cuss at anyone who commented on my review. What a nice family. He is listed as «scoops ice cream parolor» on Facebook. I have seen other reviews here on Unilocal that are«not recommended» but they seem to be negative reviews about how they treat children as well. I was devastated when I walked out of this store and in shock that my son was yelled at by a business owner for putting his hands on a drink cooler handle. Oh, and the screenshots are images of how his daughter acted in response to my review on their Facebook page. What a lovely family.

This lovely gentleman screamed at my mother, my sister and myself telling us to get the f*ck out of his store and calling my mother a bitch and my sister a bad parent. Why? Because my 2 year old nephew dared to open a cooler door and shut it. When this guy got a huge attitude about my nephew gently opening and closing the cooler door to occupy himself while his mother ordered, my sister asked the shop owner if he had a problem. He proceeded to say my nephew was terrorizing the store and he should be controlled. Really? By opening and closing a drink door a few times? Obviously this man was not a huge presence in his children’s lives if he is not aware that occupying a 2 year old isn’t always easy. He wasn’t hurting anything or bothering anyone. We would have been in there for 2 minutes. Instead this man ruined our evening and we were verbally harassed and left with a disapointed 2 year old. What an awful man, do not purchase anything from this shop.

Very busy. They ran out of a flavor my husband wanted. Good location though. Even had live entertainment out side. Had the peanut butter supreme. Very good.

The greatest ice cream ever! Way better than the junky overpriced kill devil custard. Go here you won’t be disappointed.

Terrible service. We were waited on by someone who didn’t even complete our order. We were only given 2 out of 4 of our shakes… Both of them had ice cream running down the side… Absolutely horrible!

I Love their ice cream at scoops they have the best ice cream if you are by there one day you need to hit up the joint. The ice cream was so scrumptious and the milkshakes where oh so delish. The ice cream is even homemade. I give this place an A+

We got ice cream here twice during our vacation and loved it both times. The ice cream is made fresh in the store. You can sample any flavor before making your choice. We sat on the deck and enjoyed the sunset over the dunes while we enjoyed the ice cream. The owners where very friendly.

$ 3.75 small one scoop Trip to OBX to fly kites. This is located right next to the Kitty Hawk Kites store. Not sure of the prices or quality of the ice cream. It was cold and tasted good. In laws paid, so the price was just right for me. The cousins who were with us have been raised on sugar, so this was my mother in law giving in to them complaining about the vegan lunch they had just suffered. Glad this place was open. The man working the counter was a scooping pro and it hit the spot! I would recommend hitting Jockey’s Ridge with your kite, work up a little appetite, and then reward your awesome kite flying skills with some ice cream.

Was looking for homemade ice cream at 9:30 at night and this was a solid choice. We actually stopped at Logan’s first, which isn’t homemade. The line was huge and didn’t budge. We actually hopped on Unilocal and found a new place without ever progressing. The line at Scoops was out the door but moved impressively fast. The employees were busting their hump to serve everyone promptly. I got the pistachio in a waffle come. My wife got the chocolate peanut butter with hot fudge in a cup. Everything was great. Whoever said Dairy Queen is better than this place is insane.
